Please evaluate the quote I got this morning:
2015 MDX AWD base model 36 months 12 k/year miles in NY
    MSPR 45,685
Net cap cost: 44,260 (includes selling price of 42,600, gross margin of 1771.77, acquisition fee of 595, NY state tax of 1565 rolled in, less 500 for dealer cash which is the new dealer incentive for March)
    MF = 0.00069
    residual 61%
Due at signing: first month, DMV and insurance/fees, apx $660
    Monthly payment = $505

Quote for Tech model was $565/month

    Thank you

Those look like last month's numbers..

.00055 and 60% residual is what we show.

But, with your numbers, I get around $529/mo.... not sure how they came up with $505.

Thanks! Do you happen to know the rates for the 2016 yet? I should have asked that initially.

No MF yet for 2016, which leads me to believe the standard MF is being used (.00170 or so).

    36/10 for 2016 AWD Tech is 63%.

The base MF on the 2015 MDX is .00055; your dealer is jacking that way up on you. 36/12 residual should be 60% for FWD Base, not 58% - dealer is not allowed to change the residual value.

With your MSRP and "balance", I get a payment of $406.10/mo with $0 down.

Dealer needs to sharpen their pencil (or replace the batteries in their calculator).

Thank you, is the information on the residual and MF visible on Acura's site or some other place? I was just curious in case the dealer requires a source to adjust their quote.

As more stock of the 2016's arrive, deals should get better on remaining 2015 stock. But, as supply dwindles, your chances of getting the color or equipment you want becomes more of a challenge.

    Mr. Moderator,

    In Massachusetts-

    2015 MDX 4D Wagon SH-AWD Tech Pkg
    15,000 Miles/year
    36 month lease
    MSRP = $49,960
    Dealer Cost = 45,773.61
    Dealer Offer = 47,950
I have been quoted a residual and MF of 57% and .00055

    MSRP $49,960 x Residual (57%) = RV $28,477.2.

Dealer is asking for a down payment of $1,825.80 + 114.11 (tax on DP) + $595 Acquisition Fee.

    Total Cap Cost is $46,719.20

    Offer from dealer is 36 months @ $548.08 + 6.25%tax = $582.34

There is a bunch of mumbo jumbo about $3,000 cash rebate / $1,060.09 inception fee / $1,939.91 excess cash-rebate equity but I don't see or understand where this factors in.

I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice... I don't want any down payment and don't understand the $2,176.39 mark up. They are making plenty of $$ on the lease and service.

    Thanks!

Using your MSRP and Total cap cost, my number is only .01 off the dealer quote (rounding issue, I suspect). The dealer is using the base MF and the correct residual.

I'm a bit confused by all the extra numbers, as well. They want you to write them a check for $2534.91? If the 1825.80 is really cap cost reduction and you want to waive it, the payment will go up about $54/mo (1825.80 / 36 + tax).

Not sure you can get an MDX for invoice cost - use the "make / model / year" pull downs at the top of the page to help establish a good target price.

In the past we have gotten the cap cost reduce because we selling price was not much higher than dealer cost... that is why paying $1,825 upfront seems crazy... best price for base+tech is around $46.2K based on the dropdown tabs on this site not $47.9K as quoted by dealer.

Did you mean 'best' MF or is there a MF for base vs. base+tech, etc.? I assume the .00055 is the best MF Acura currently has.

Should I ask about $500 dealer incentive?

Thanks so much for your help. Much appreciated. If I work down the CapCost by no down payment and closer to dealer cost could bring me at best down to $538 pre-tax monthly. Good enough?? Thanks again!!

There is only one MF for all MDX's - .00055.

If you aren't getting the sell price you want, it may be time to reach out to another Acura dealer.

No reason not to ask about the $500 - if you don't ask, you don't get.

Work to get the best sell price and make sure the MF isn't marked up .. that will translate to the lowest payment.

    Hello everyone.

What is the Residual and MF on a 2015 MDX SH-AWD Base for 10,000 miles and each of 24 mo / 30 mo / 36 mo? (Not sure if Acura does all those lease lengths, but wanted to ask!)

Wow, I'm surprised that the residual is that low (53%) on the base for 36/10!

What about 36/10 on the Tech and the Advance? (Both AWD)

Thank you! What are the pros v. cons on a 24 v. 36 month lease? Assume the money factor is the same .00055 in March? Taking advantage of an early lease end with mileage forgiveness assuming this isn't transferable between dealers but hoping to get pre-tax monthly below $500 if possible.

    Mr. Moderator,
    2015 MDX 4D Wagon SH-AWD Tech Pkg
    15,000 Miles/year
    36 month lease
    MSRP = $49,960 (including Delivery)
    Dealer Cost = 45,773.61
    Dealer Offer = 47,950
I have been quoted a residual and MF of 57% and .00055

    MSRP $49,960 x Residual (57%) = RV $28,477.2.

Dealer is asking for a down payment of $1,825.80 + 114.11 (tax on DP) + $595 Acquisition Fee.

    Total Cap Cost is $46,719.20

    Offer from dealer is $548.08 + 6.25%tax = $582.34

The 24 month lease will be a lot higher... because the spread between residuals isn't that large. They just aren't incentivizing that term. Plus, your fixed costs are spread over fewer months (acquisition fee, etc).

Well ... the dealer is saying they will "forgive" the obligations on the current lease (3 payments plus mileage), but in reality, this is a trade in. It has a specific pay off value (you can get that number from whatever bank you are paying now) and a specific value as trade (go to the "Real World Trade In Values" discussion to get a fair appraisal from our in-house experts). You may find you have more equity that you realize - if you do, you can use this to your advantage in the negotiations.

And, this is true for any dealer you decide to work with.

    I'm showing $584.78/mo with tax.

Oh, I see 18,000 miles per year ... that will reduce the residual by about $900-$2200. Which will increase the payment by $25-68/mo.

It's possible that the sell price and the net cap cost used by the dealer is not the same. Ask them to bridge the gap for you.

hello, what will be residual % for a 2015 base MDX AWD with annual 10,000 miles for 48 months? Does the longer term affect the money factor? what will be the residual % and money factor for the same 10,000 miles for 48 months for a 2016 MDX AWD? Just figuring out which is a better way to go, 2015 v. 2016. 36 months go by too fast..

    The lease variables are accurate.

I get $506/mo.+taxes and fees, using your MSRP and selling price.

If tax plus the $595 acquisition fee add up to around $2300, then it looks good.

2015: .00055 MF is only good for leases up to 36 months. Residual is 61% for 36 months, 53% for 48 months.

I'm not sure of the money factor for 48 months, but it may be substantially higher.

2016: Residuals are 64% for 36/10 and 56% for 48/10. Don't know the money factors.

    The lease variables are accurate.

I get $506/mo.+taxes and fees, using your MSRP and selling price.

If tax plus the $595 acquisition fee add up to around $2300, then it looks good.
    Thank you for the input!

By reading other posts I see a 2015 AWD Tech for 36/18K has a 0.00055 MF and 57% RV. What is the MF and RV of a 2016 AWD Tech, MSRP of 50,210, for both a 36/18K and 36/20K lease? I haven't negotiated price yet but will be targeting 4K off MSRP. Thank you in advance.

The highest mileage allowance that we have residuals for is 15K/yr. I would not assume a set percentage lower for higher numbers than that.

    2016: .00160 MF and 60% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr

Hi, for a 2015 MDX base model in California, with a 36/10k lease term, what are the money factor and residuals?

What is the selling price? Any of the $3K going to cap cost reduction?
