are you sure that they haven't fogotten to plug something back in, or something along those lines? The best bet would be to take it back. They will have to scan the SRS ECU for the trouble code, and find out what the trouble code is. If it is minor, usually turning the ignition off and on again should fix it.
Have you installed your front speakers?
I also want to upgrade my front speakers on my '03 accord cpe but I've been hearing that not any 6-1/2" speaker would fit. Is this right?
I checked Crutchfield and they only have one 6-1/2" speaker they say fits .. other 6-1/2"s won't.
Also, why the Kappa 692.5? I too am looking for crisper treble and better clarity only. I got an 8" sub in the back.
Anyone else that can help me out would be appreciated. Thanks!
Do you think replacing the front OEM speakers with the Kenwoods is worth it? I'm just looking for easy listening to crisp and clear sound.
Did you have any problems installing them? Any tip would help. Thanks!
It's the one "toy" I'm really considering on my '03 EX V6 Sedan (fog lights, too, but those would be out of necessity - too much fog here) because of a lot of interstate driving, and being blinded too often. Does it work quickly, both ways? Does it take getting used to? I know I can turn it off (I think - it can be turned off, right?) if I don't like it, but that's after spending about $270 installed.
Help, please! Thanks!
Fog Lights - Sounds like you might live in Seattle also! I was going to install those (and still might) but it's a large job requiring holes being cut into the front bumper. This is not something I would trust my dealers service department with. Hope this helps. Ask more questions if you would like.
#493 of 527 Cargo Net Install by briansbluetoy Oct 07, 2003 (9:52 pm)
I just installed the cargo net ($24 from H&A). I went by the directions and it was a walk in the park (40 minutes and a cocktail on a friday nite).
The top holes were already drilled, just had to remove the carpeting panel, thread the bolt and drill a hole in the carpeting panel.
On the bottom, I only installed the studs directly below the top hooks as I did not want to install or use the rear studs on the floor.
I am very happy with the net. It works perfectly. The other nice perk is that it stops the groceries from rolling around the trunk also (even when not in the net)
IMO the bottom studs are completely optional (for use with the tray).
I work at a Honda dealership. We had the same problem with the mirror last week. I phoned my Honda rep and they told me that they are not sure when one will become available. They also said that the 03 mirror will cause an SRS malfunction. They did not specify what but they are working to fix the problem and get the mirror available for the 04 Accord.
thanks
If so would you let me know I haven't found anything out there.
The install instructions call for two mounting methods. One is the vertical mounting (attach points on the floor and high on the trunk walls) . The other mounting method is four attach points on the floor. This way one could slide items under the net that is attached to the floor of the trunk. I opted not to install the rear set of studs. Therefore, I have two mounting points just below the trunk hinges (high on the trunk walls) and two attach points on the floor of the trunk (just below the higher mount points. I followed the install instructions for every thing except the rear-floor mount studs.

Is there anyone else out there that has found a good way to mount the net with a Cargo Tray also??
It looks good now when my accord is 6 months old. but who knows how it will hold up over the course of several years.
try this for a picture

I only installed 2 of the 4 studs that mount on the trunk floor.
IMO the floor mounted studs are optional (tray or not)
I like the fog lights too. Unlike some cars I have had (Lexus ES300, you can actually see the illumination from the fog lights, which actually give you a little wider band of light to each side. And I think they also add a lot to the appearance of the car.
I noticed that Honda has a sport package for 2004 which includes the mirror, fog lights and rear spoiler (which I don't care for that much). I assume that it is dealer installed, but maybe there is a package price.
By the way, what was changed in the car that would make the 2003 mirror incompatible with the 2004?
1. SRS system
2. Seatbelt warning system
3. Pass air bag auto off at 65lbs
4. XM Radio provisions
I wanted to install the Chrome tip muffler but the parts guy told me that it was only compatible for the V6.
Is there any truth to that?
Does not make any sense to me.
Do you think it will fit the Sedan?
Though i could figure out a few things.... ;-)
I have the cargo net in front of me right now.
It looks something like this;
------------------------------ <--- longer
-xxxxxxxxxxx-
-xxxxxxxxxxx-
-xxxxxxxxxxx-
-xxxxxxxxxxx-
----------------------- <--- shorter
1. one could attach just the upper two anchors mounted on the sides and let it be a true 'hammock' net OR
2. one cud drill the floor to attach the rear floor-hooks and hang the net vertically between the side mounted hook and these OR
3. one cud drill the rear and front floor-hooks and use the net as a 'tent'
I figure if u have a cargo tray which does not allow the floor-hooks to be installed....u cud just use option 1. This is what brian has been trying to say. Just use the side mounted anchors and then the net is not attached to anything on the lower side. It will sway front and back and lil on the sides.
One ingenuous solution might be to mount 4 side mounting anchors but wud involve drilling something unintendedly. (ooops!)
Was it hard?
Would you recommend it?
Thanks!
billyperks: That's strange. Maybe you can buy either the 4 cylinder coupe exhaust tip or the V6 sedan set and try them on your 4 cylinder sedan. Worst that could happen is you have to return them for a refund if they don't fit.
The decklid comes with a template to position the holes and if you mess up and have to redrill, not to worry. The deck lid will cover up your mistakes or the dealers mistakes. Took about 1 hr to do the whole thing. The instructions are on-line at Handa-accessories.com for your reading pleasure.
She mentioned that she saw her exact car with one and how it looked awesome.
I am not budging-I think they are useless, the only accessories I am getting are Mud Guards,Door Guards and Fog Lights.
I am going to install the Mud Guards tonight, the door guards I ordered today. As for the Fog lights, I will order them around the first oil change and have the Dealer install them.
Although I am a seventies baby, I think I have been around the block in terms of what is useful for a car.
One perfect example-I had a Mazda Millennia and I bought the Moon Roof Visor for it-what a mistake, those Visors are just outright useless.
I thought it would have reduced wind noise but in reality it increased it.
So- no Spoiler for my honey, hope she does not read this or else its the sofa for me.:)
I can't fit the stubby Phillipps screw driver back there, I think I will have to take the wheel off.
Is there another solution for this install?
Question # 2- I ordered the door guard edges yesterday from H and A, do I need any form of glue or paste to install these.
Is there any cutting involved?
Is there any cutting involved?
I put mine on six months ago without any glue and they are still fine. Bought a rubber hammer at Home Depot and it worked fine to tap them in.
The door edge guard kit from H&A included a special blade to scrape away part of the sealant on the inside of the door the proper distance from the edge for the guard to fit. That was a distressful job to perform on a beautiful new car. Used the touchup paint also ordered from H&A to put on about 3 coats because some areas the sealant cut was not smooth. Looks ok now. The coupe red touch up paint is pinker than the car paint though.
