I also just put the Gold Colored badges on my Red Accord EX and they look great...to me. The dealer service manager liked them so much he took off the white dealer logo and replaced it with a gold one., he said that he would start to recommend the Gold Honda badges for all of the Red Hondas he would be selling. Seems that they never had a customer put the badges on the Red Hondas...nice dealer.
My add-ons.
Rear Trunk Spoiler
Fog Lights
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
Gold Honda Badges
Trunk Liner to protect rug
Dashboard cover
Locking Wheel Lugs
Sylvania SilverStar Low and High Beam Headlights
Everything except the nice dashboard cover and headlight replacements are genuine Honda parts either ordered from the dealer or through the internet.
Good luck on your Honda...enjoy it. It is my first Honda...I figured if I couldn't find an auto to keep its resale value and low maintenance for over 100,000 miles like Honda, I might as well join them...no regrets. 30-35 MPG on trips and 25-27 MPG around town...sure beats the gas-guzzling 2002 Ford Escape I have, and I have about the same acceleration from an I4 as the Escape's V6 with about a 25-50% increase in gas mileage.. .
Thanks!
Do not get any tint that is metallic. If has will cause an eletrical phenomena know as "skin effect" , i.e. all electrons will go ot the surface of the sphere/enclosure, in this case the car window body and it will shield transmission and reception of enclosed electicalsignals, e.g radio, PDA, cell phone, BlackBerry, etc.
Tint On,

yea im concerned about the matrix at the top of the window. i dont want my job to look half-a$$ed. do you have any pix you could share?
and thanx for the heads-up on the metallic. i looked into this before and decided on a ceramic film.
It happens on my car but the tint guy says it's normal.
Thanks
For something that old, your best bet would be to visit your local auto wrecking yards. (Be sure to bring your own set of tools and some hand cleaner.) If they don't have what you need, they can surely do a national search using their database and network.
Just bought a black accord LX, first I need to get all weather mats, as I am in NJ and winter is coming soon. Can anyone suggest a place to get them for a good price as well as which one should I get, honda OEM or some other brand? Also looking to get mud flaps if anyone can suggest a place to get those from as well and also if I should go with OEM or not. BTW are there any other places on the net aside from here where there are honda fans specifically accord owners?
Thanks for the help.
Any decent reputable window tint manaufacturer now has lifetime warratny. However uusally costs around $300.
Whatever you do , do not get metallic tint unless you don't talk on a cell hpone and only listen to CDs.

I just bought a new Honda (and it is my first Honda) and I want advice from you folks about essential accessories I should put. I am in Boston and winter is going to be severe here....V6 is pretty much loaded but dealer is promoting all weather package.. Please give me your advice.
Thanks
If you are playing a disk full of mp3 files, will the it start playing the files exactly where it left off - since the last time you turned the car off? I believe this is called the "resume" feature. This feature exists on my Panasonic CD/MP3 player I had installed in my 95 Civic. It is a very handy feature. If you are playing 150 songs, you don't have to scroll through fifty songs to get back to the song you were listening to the last time you were in the car. I downloaded the manual for the Honda mp3 player, but it doesn't say anyting about this.

*They're both very hard metals.
(This from babcox.com: "Denso and NGK have both introduced new premium plugs with iridium alloy electrodes. NGK says iridium is even better than platinum in terms of corrosion, and resistance and ignition performance.")
There are no "essential" accessories that you should buy. Your new vehicle came very well equipped straight off the assembly line. Of course there are personal preference items that you might want to consider. The only item that I'd recommend for winter use in your area might be snow tires. Boston is not considered a severe weather area. If you were further north in the mountains of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, that would be a different situation.
Here's a link for accessories that will be less costly than buying from your local dealer:

Thanks for the link...I got a cheap floor mats from wal-mart ..what other thing i am thinking of is splash guard..what do you suggest. Some people say that it will protect your car from getting dirty..to be honest I have no idea on any kind of accessories...
Thanks
I bought and installed splash guards from H&A. They took about a half hour to screw on. They also keep some gravel or stones from kicking up to damage the paint at the rear of your wheel wells. As I wrote earlier, it's personal preference. No accessories are necessary for your EX.
A dealer will look at them and know they are not factory original, and take off for that. How much, hard to say. Now, that upgrade may actually make the car easier to sell, but they aren't going to tell you that. They will argue that they have to spend $ to replace the rims.
With that said, if you do have them chromed, post a link to pictures of them. I was tossing around the idea having the same thing done, and I'm curious how they look.

Add locking wheel nuts for keeping your tires out of "Southies" hands. Add the trunk storage box to keep crap off the rug in your trunk.
I have my first Honda too after 50 years of driving and I am constantly surprised by how many people ask questions about it.
Spent $180 for this piece of junk <<< ( see that host ). :shades: I was appauled at what I saw in the box-o $180. About $2 in cheap cheap plastic trim with even cheaper looking adhisive strips on it. We have owned the car since new. I really wanted this trim kit so I sucked it up knowing Honda had burnt me for about $160. I cleaned the dash mounting areas with windex and followed that with alcohol wipes, three times each and let dry. Trim went on easy and looked great! Held very good. I was feeling good. Went in to eat dinner. Brought the wife out after dinner to admire the trim install. All but one piece was laying in the floor. I tested the surface with masking tape, 3M dubble sided tape and duct tape over night with afew of the parts. They all stuck and stayed overnight. Now counting my time, shiping and the cost to ship it back or go buy a good 3M auto dubble sided tape honda has basicly ruined the whole mess and cost me about $250 bucks no matter how its looked at. I logged a offical complaint with honda. As if they cared at all. And told the rep. that I would never buy another overprice under engineered honda accssery ever again. And to think I was about to pop for one of there auto day/night mirrors for a ungodly high price.
Beware of there over priced junk.
There as never been any armor all or any other protectant or sealer ever applied to this car. I knew it would be a problem with a trim kit sticking to the dash. When we bought the car I asked if any had been used during the prep of the car before we picked it up. I was asured none had been used.
Such a waiste of money and time.
Anyway, it works exactly as I hoped. It has only one button (eject), and is controlled through the main radio/CD unit. I have an LX (without CD changer). Because the MP3 player also plays normal audio CD's, you can now have two CD's loaded into the dash at any time - and switch between them. The MP3 player always remembers exactly where it left off (track or middle of track), when you park your car. It will start playing exactly where it left off the next time you get into your car. It has no problem playing CD-RWs. I did notice that the track numbers displayed on the main CD unit can only display two digits. When you get to mp3 file number 101, 102, etc, the display starts over at 01, 02. This is not much of an issue, except there might be some confusion as to whether your playing track 2 or 102.
On other note, I hope someone will post a way to disable the daytime running lights.
Steve
No Remote start is not standard on HA 2006. For mats I got a cheap one from SAM's club. They are very thick and made of rubber (sorry I read your post very late)..
By rubber fender you mean splash gurad on front and back...I already have the locking wheels ...
Just for curiosity: I often find car wet in the mornings (because of early morning dew) and then those drops leave the scar as they dry up during the day. I am living in an apartment wiht no covered parking and worried about this. Please let me know what people usually do for this...I know of quick detailing but is it good...
Any ideas about aftermarket???????????? :confuse:

Do you honestly believe that pry-able plastic door will stop a determined Escalade-driving soccer mom once the price of unleaded gasoline hits $4.75/gallon?
