The trim was plastic and looked cheap but once installed they blended in. I don't spend time looking at it closely, so I don't mind the minor imperfections.... but they're molded and fit right along the contours which makes them worth it...
how difficult is it to replace the headlamps.. ?
How did you install the trunk springs? Did you buy the installer tool or use something else
thanks
So again, if anybody has some advice on this, HOOK IT UP!!!
I've heard that there is good reason why Honda (or the dealership) do not add the leather - reason being SAFETY (in the eventuality of an accident, the aftermarket leather sometimes doesn't open up the side/curtain air bags).
Is this true? Do we worry about the work of aftermarket sellers like Classic Soft Trim?
Thanks much!
Anyone have any good recomendations on what kind of car alarm to get? the honda dealership advertises lo-jack. I'm wondering if there are any suggestions on what kind of car alarm to purchase. Thanks for your help
I have been trying to research this on the internet but have not been able to come across a single place where I could get to buy it.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy an 05 Accord tail light assembly (if at all they are available), how much it will cost for the assembly and the installation?
Thanks
The locations for the backup, tail, and brake lights will have to be in the same locations, have the same # of bulbs, and same # of filaments in the bulbs (single or dual function).
Just swapping them out may not work. You could also be talking a re-wiring job as well.
Mrbill
I thought somebody offered to switch the taillights before in this forum. Wonder if they were successful. I think the locations of the bulbs etc are all the same between the 04s and 05s.

The stanrard shifter is pretty nice, but is pretty typical for a FWD car with throws that are a bit longer and more rubbery than they could be.

Maybe the future generation models will have the display on theirs? It's something for the manufacturers to ponder on.

I installed the Neuspeed myself in an '04 Accord 2.4l 5 speed manual. It is the best money I've spent on the car. Throws are reduced by about 30%. Simple enough for the DIY'er, good directions. The only tough part is getting the ball off of the bottom of the shifter.
Also, as far as the tinting the 03 Accords and up, my tint guy mentioned that although replacing interior window molds with felts (mandatory for normal window rolling fluidity), you would also have to clean the inside whenever dirt and tiny rocks build up, or you may end up scratching your tint. Here lies the problem, by removing the stock molds your allowing more sound from the outside to travel into the interior, something I brought up with him and he concurred. Basically, if you want to keep an optimal sound barrier, don't tint your new Honda's. (unless someone has a better idea)
One of the main qualities of luxury vehicle is a quiet interior, why would anyone want to give up that is beyond reasonable explanation. If you drove shi*ty cars for years you would appreciate a little peace and quiet.
For those of you concern with maintaining a quiet and sound interior. (From previous experience.)
Loud levels of bass (particularly from subwoofers)can loosen components and cause your car to start rattling while driving.
Lowering your car increases ground noise levels
Adding fat [non-permissible content removed] rims with low profile tires will definitely increase tread noise while decreasing day to day driving comfort. (Unless your comforted by the fact that your car can turn a corner at 50 mph.)
Upgrading traction is only neccessary for older cheap vehicles for normal day to day driving.
(I've done a 720 in a stock 94 civic from someone cutting me off at 40 mph, dangerous AND embarrassing.)
I am getting ready to but a 2006 Accord LE Coupe
1) I noticed that the radio was only 120 wats, does anyone know if honda is offering a more powerful system to upgrate too?
2) I wanted a cd played that played MP3's, however Honda's standard system is a 6 disc cd changer that only playys regular cd's. Has anyone hear anything or the MP3 player substitute they are offering. I know its expensive. Or if I installed my own MP3 player, would I lose use of the radio controls on the steering wheel??
3) Does anyone have more feedback on Honda's Music Link for I-Pods? any info would be helpful.

Here are my questions:
1) The Mark Levinson system has a Discrete 5.1 Surround Sound system using a 7.1 Surround speaker architecture, which involves 14 speakers. My 2000 Accord only has 6 (two small ones on dash, two in front doors, two on rear deck). Should I even try to add speakers or are there other options?
2) What are some recommendations on upgrades and optimal stereo systems? Are there kits available? Should I trust an installer or do it myself?
Thanks in advance,
Mike
I think a good set of component speakers up front (with proper imaging), some rear fill speakers, a quality sub, and healthy amplification all around should do justice to just about anything you put in your car.
It depends on what you are going to listen to though. Different systems for different tastes, nevermind that each vehicle is a different challenge too. There is not really any "optimal" system, which is what makes car audio so personal and interesting.
Important questions are:
1) What would you change about your current setup - what's not good at the moment?
2) What are you going to listen to?
3) What's the budget?
answer those and I'm sure we can come up with some things around here

Yours sounds like great advice to runningmike.
Also, the Mark Levinson system was specifically computer designed/tuned to the interior of that model of Lexus by a team of experts. It would be surprising if anyone without the proper design tools and software could duplicate that type of sound in a completely different vehicle.

I have had a set for two years on a 2002 Escape and the rough riding SUV hasn't bothered the Silverstars at all. The are combination bulbs for the Escape. Visibility is greatly improved by Silverstars, especially in bad weather conditions...my opinion. A lot of reliability has to do how they are handled during installation, after all, they are halogen bulbs.
Has anyone purchased one of these for an 06 Accord sedan yet ? If so, can you please specify the brand and how it fit ?
I ordered some accessories from www.bernardiparts.com and they seemed to be the cheapest.
Let me know if you find anything because I would like to get my hands on one of those too! Thanks
Got a couple question regarding accessories for a new Accord SE 06 Sedan:
Thanks,
The locks look generic, so I would not rule out aftermarket parts.
The OEM splash guards are formed to fit the car, so finding an aftermarket guard that fit as good may be hard to find.
Another option that came with my Accord is the trunk liner. LOVE IT!! It makes keeping the trunk clean a breeze. I hate to think the mess I would have had without it when a gallon of milk leaked out.
Mrbill
The rear deck speaker swap was a piece of cake. Push up on the clips in the trunk and pry off the speaker grills, remove 4 screws and you're ready to swap speakers. The BA S95 speakers made a BIG improvement in the quality of sound, both in bass and treble. If you wish to use only the stock amplifier, as I did, it's important to select a speaker that is fairly efficient, and the S95's fit the bill.
The door speakers were more of a PITA to replace. There aren't many options unless you downsize from the stock 6 1/2 to a 5 1/4 inch. I went with the BA 65RC because they were shallow mount and fit the opening (barely). Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the quality of new door speakers. The high end was perhaps slightly crisper, but the bass was less than in the stock units.
Bottom line: given the time and cost involved in replacing the door speakers, I would highly recommend just replacing the rear 6x9's. You'll have a significantly better sound for not much cost and effort, and you can always upgrade further if the need (and your checkbook) allows.
Therefore, I got a new head unit deck with 4V preouts, disconnected the high/low converters and head unit, and rewired to the amp directly. There is still a noise problem, but much less than before. Now when the RPM's go up, you can still hear a faint whine (I have the gains lowered to about 25%). Lowering the gains on the amp helped a lot, but the problem has never gone away for this 4 channel setup. Does anyone know what the MAIN source of noise is on these new Accords? I have done all the basic checks and proper installation procedures (obviously power cord not run along with patch cords) Grounding has been checked.
HELP
good luck
What were the basic steps in replacing your door speakers? I haven't yet attempted this with my Accord, but I have the speakers ready to go.
