Do we have anybody bought or leased a EX auto, cloth, 4 cycl. recently in So. Calif.? Mind sharing what you paid?
Purchase price, before tax and license OR
Net Capitalized Cost (for leasing)
I read in the Leasing forum that some dealers are using a .00112 money factor and 54% residual for a 3 year 12K/mile EX lease. Anybody getting a better deal?
Thanks.
I recently bought the same car in the bay area. It was the easiest buy I've ever done. Got the quote from the internet department and they were the only dealership that had the color I wanted. I went in and signed the papers with the internet manager. The only annoyance was the trip to the finance manager to do the Purchase order. He mentioned the other options but I was strict about only wanting the spoiler. He did mention this new extended warranty by Honda. Something about a six or seven yr warranty that you have to start paying for now at $20 a month but if you don't ever use it all the money is refunded. I didn't like the sound of it or him so I passed. He looked at me like I just committed a crime. "Why would you do this. It's all refundable." No thanks. Then there was the promise he can get me a lower rate. "I'm getting 5.29 from Golden One and that is low enough." He finally gave up. Drove it home today.. It's nice!
So, 05 Accord Coupe EX 4cyl auto, cloth was $19938.24 before spoiler and TTL. I can live with that.

Check out Hondaland in Tampa....my co-worker just bought one yesterday for
$18,100 plus TTL...got it through the internet...
Hondaland is the biggest volume dealer in Central Florida....the invoice on this car is around $19,100....minus the $750 incentive for the I4 and at the very least you should get it for $18,100. You should be buying asap...my co-worker said the LX's are in short supply at Hondaland anyway...if you click on my name (mldj98) and send me an email I will let you know the guys name who dealt with my co-worker.
Good Luck!
Thanks for info. Luckily I just got an email from a dealer here for 18100+TTL. Hopefully I will buy it by this weekend.
Just curious...
Rock On!
thanks!
It's no wonder American cars can't compete. 240hp V6/XM radio/sunroof/30MPH Hwy/leather/dual climate/side curtain airbags/etc . . . at this price! nd :shades:
No purchase yet.
Regal Honda in Lakeland has offered a 2005 Accord EX 4 cylinder coupe automatic for $20,803 before fees. $22,526 out the door.
I don't know what colors they have, I want white or red.
(I would rather have the Civic shade of red on an Accord - but that's my problem!)
St. Pete says they only have a couple of 2005 coupes left for a bit more.
Gateway left a message that they have about 20 in stock, but no prices.
Anyone think I could do better?
Suzanna
Thanks, Evabip
I leased it from Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos. The cap cost was $20,148, .00112 m.f., 54% residual, nothing down, $283 plus change for 36 months with 12k mile/yr. Norm Reeves was not the lowest initially. But they match another offer from Coasta Mesa. And when I was on the phone discussing the deal with Norm Reeves, I got an email offer from Westminster Honda for $20,048. But I am not sure if they would use that price for cap cost. So I went with Norm Reeves as it's closer to my home and they were already preping my car. I showed up at 3 p.m., took a 15 minute test drive, waited a little bit, spent 30 minutes in the finance office, spent another 20 minutes to go over the features and took delivery. Left the dealer at 4:30 p.m. Smooooth... :shades:
Selling price (inc'l dest) $22,519 EX-V6 Accord 4dr Auto
tax $1,351
reg & doc fees 55+198 = $253
Tire Tax: $8 (only in NJ, here they nickel and dime us to death)
Total was $24,131
Picking up on Monday,,,,
so far, I've got the quotes from the dealers, the best offer was 19K plus taxes and fees, and it seems so inflated price.
well, I live in Hawaii, and does this region matters with the prices?
I wish someone can help me out with this...
how much would be the reasonable price? (cash)
They are blowing out the Accords right now....although you are looking for a manuel trans so those may be a little hard to find right now...
Hondaland is the biggest volume dealer in Central Florida and if they don't have your car then odds are it doesn't exist...they will even go get it and bring it from another dealership if you want...no extra fees for that...
I just sent one of my co-workers there on Wednesday and they bought an Accord LX Sedan auto....I told him to offer $750 below invoice straight up for the car and see what they say....invoice on that car is $19,134 or something like that...he bought it for $18,100 no problems...quick and easy....dealt with the internet team there....
Regal Honda in Lakeland is not bad....their dealer fees are $100 less than Hondaland....but cannot do the volume pricing like Hondaland....
If you going to buy I would do it this weekend....end of July.....good incentives....
But you better get there early....Hondaland is nuts on the weekends...allot of buyers...it's not getting the price you want that takes all day....it's the waiting around to get into the finance office that takes all day....(to do the final paperwork)
Bottom line....a little birdie told me that this weekend is the one for buying....
(enough said...don't want to get that birdie fired!)
Good Luck!
For people who MUST have a V6 and don't want leather, I think the LX V6 is the only choice.
The EX-L is the top-of-the line 4 cylinder with leather which in addition to EX features, has the XM radio, dual zone auto climate control, and maybe other features, too.
It's hard for me to believe that the LX V6 is a very good value because most people who want a V6 probably want all the other luxury items, too. So, resale won't be as good on a less luxurious car with a faster engine, at least I don't think so.
Drive both the 4 and the V6 to make sure that you really need the V6. The 4 is very quick and would be a better choice if you buy an LX.
I have the EX-L which is a good compromise IMO--fast enough, luxurious, economical, and fairly priced..........Richard
The 05 LX (Auto tranny) that most folks have posted were in the range of $17900 -$18200 (inluding destination and all delaer fees) dependending on location. In most cases it was even less due to the factory-to-dealer money that has been going on for the past four months.
Go to carsdirect.com and enter your zipcode and see how much your area dealers are selling the car for. Unfortunately, I've heard it's very difficult to get any great deals in Hawaii.
Good Luck....
btw, whitecloud's info is old. the dx vp does indeed have the 16 valve i-vtec engine. it also comes w/ the same 15" wheels as the lx though the tires are p195 as opposed to p205. also has the front disc/rear drum brakes.
heres wht ur missing w/ the dx vp compared to the lx:
• Air-filtration system
• Power mirrors and door locks
• Cruise control
• Illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls
• Remote entry system with power window control
• Sunglasses holder
• Map lights
• Variable intermittent windshield wipers
• Rear stabilizer bar
• 6 speakers (VP has only 2)
• Auto-off headlights
• Body colored mirrors, door handles, chrome window trim
• Power driver's seat
• Fold-down rear-seat center armrest/trunk pass-through with lock(u can still fold down the rear seats in the VP, just no center seat rest).
sounds like a lot, but for me much of these items were supefluous. Ok, I would have liked to have the power locks, mirrors, cruise, and keyless entry but for $2000 more? forget abt it. These are just luxury items. I was more interested in fuel efficiency and safety.
Now the rear stabilizer bar is probably the most impt item on this list since it does effect handling. I have noticed some slightly wild handling when i make tight turns (of course i'm going 80+ which is a no no). I need to stop speeding.
All in all, a gr8 car at an unbelievable price. V4 engine, auto, side/curtain, ABS, and a cd player along w/ air conditioning---hell, thats all i need.
The new Honda Accord 4 cylinder is faster and smoother than many V6s--the acceleration time is slightly FASTER than a V8 Buick I had in the early '70s--a long time ago, but a very fast car IMO. My '04 Accord with the 4 cyl. engine and A/T is plenty fast.
My advice to anyone considering the Honda Accord is to test drive both the 4 and the V6 because I think that many people would be surprised how good the 4 cylinder car is
Great car and value
$24,971 (another dealer quoted me $24,771 but was too far away)
$118 Document fee
$5 Temporary plate
$2,184.75 Tax
$1192.18 (that's $1100 plus 8.38% tax) 7 year 100,000 bumper to bumper extended warranty with $50 deductible
Total out the door was $28,378.75
They said tomorrow July 31 was the last day of the Honda clearance. We'll see if it gets extended through August.
I feel like we did okay since MSRP is above what we paid with tax and extended warranty.
Picked up an EX-L auto 4-cylinder today for a good price. I was on the fence the past few days, Accord I4 vs. V6, or Passat. Let me tell you, the Honda I4 is a nice engine. It is smooth and peppy. I'm glad I found the color I wanted, else I would have gone with the V6 or the Passat. The 6 is another $1200-1500, and isn't (in hindsight) worth it to me. Yes, it's more powerful and has some authority...but the 4 is plenty good and is what Honda is famous for. After driving both, I couldn't justify the extra $ for the V6...but that's just me.
I'm not going to punch it yet until it's a little broken in, but 0-60 comes pretty quickly. Noise at highway speed is pretty low. I'm impressed. I hope the gas mileage lives up to spec !
The dealership staffs were helpful and courteaous. As I was getting the right color and features and I had not much time and energy left to buy a car,I closed the deal and did not go to all other Honda dealers in the area.
I am satisfied with the price and the finance rate arranged by the dealer.
Just wanted to share the price and experience with the dealership to help other readers.
I want to thank edmunds and this forum participant as the edmunds TMV pricing and this forum discussion were helpful in buying the car.
Almost came to a deal, but I didn't want to pay their $499 fee.
I may offer to split it with them, if I really want their car.
They may take it or not.
But meanwhile, a question about color.
I've always had white cars, but I like the red coupe.
Pros and cons?
Also, the head room on a coupe is a bit shorter than the 4 door.
I am long waisted but my head doesn't hit the top.
Anyone with claustrophobia have a problem with it?
Thanks,
S
I am sure you are enjoying your new Honda. Could you please forward me the information for this dealer. Also, how did you find their dealing with you.
Thanks
You can get the exact same Honda warranty online for $850 with 0 deductable and NO tax.
LX: 17053 (not sure w/ or w/o destination fee)
EX-L:20549
EX-V6: 22004.
I'm no sure if I can get the lower price than this. I will report after I buy it.
Good luck, everybody.
The 4-cylinder should do just as well in the snow..
