CPO 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid with Navi (19k miles on it, 1 previous owner, carfax (not the free report) is clean)
    KBB is ~$30k
dealer has it posted as $26,448

~$4k below KBB, does that seem suspicious?

Also, is it worth trying to find an independent mechanic to inspect it? Research doesn't seem to agree (some say its a must, some say CPO doesnt need it).

No, KBB retail list price is a fantasy asking price that can sometimes be even higher than the price of a new car after discounts.

    you mean $19,050 + $500 destination charges + Fees?

Hey Guys, Thanks a lot for your feedback. I went to the dealer this morning. The saleman started to get the paperwork done, I told him before I sign anything I need to know where the car came from . He said for Sanford, NC; which is roughly an hour away. I told him an hour away and it got almost four hundred miles just to transported it. He said he did not know how long it had been in Sanford . I told him I don't feel comfortable with this car . He started to get mad . I told him, "I'm sorry if you are mad; but I'm goal is to get the car that I wanted to buy, not the car that you guys wanted to sell ." He went inside and spoke to his manager . The manager came out and told me that he would honor 15% for every miles . I told him that sound a lot but reality is only $60.00 . Thanks but no thanks. I told him when I wanted to buy a new car, I mean brand new car . He told me to wait for next shipment . Again, thanks a lot for the feedback.

Are you sure he started to get mad, I mean to get mad over something like that. I didn't know dealerships in NC hired salesman at 11 years old. When I hear "mad" I imagine kicking and screaming. Maybe he was ....preturbed...upset..confused..., or just plain pissed that you weren't falling for his tricks.

A friend just purchased a 07 Accord VP for 19200 on the road from DCH Academy Honda in Old Bridge,NJ, like I said in earlier msgs the guy who used to manage open road is now at Academy since 2 weeks now
  • ytroiytroi Member Posts: 4
You are right, he just plain pissed that you weren't falling for his tricks. He also said "Man, you driving crazy ...." I felt really good yesterday, cause I was in control the game the entire time . That is how things supposed to be when you buying anything .

Thanks. I took it back to the dealer where purchased. They detailed it again. It's been rainy and cloudy ever since so I don't know if it helped with the cloudiness or not. They also found a small black defect within the paint on the trunk. The Honda district rep needs to look at it. Hopefully, it won't take too much to have it fixed.

Has anybody recently purchased a 07' Accord SE V6? What's a fair price for this one? I'm thinking about getting one. A dealer gave me a quote of $22800 before tax.

    Thank you.
  • manbeingmanbeing Member Posts: 6
    Got a quote just now.
    $18011 + $1080(PA tax) + $118(Tag) = $19209 OTD
    Is this good enough?

    ytroi:
I NEVER order a vehicle, and I NEVER would accept a vehicle that was traded with another dealer.(I don't want some "nut" driving my NEW car). When I purchase a new vehicle, I walk the new car lot with the sales person. I pick out three cars that I like, and I drive all three vehicles with dealer plates. I then select one vehicle from the three. If the dealer does not like my system, I simply thank them for their time, and I walk! They keep their cars, and I keep my money. This is a "good system"! ;) :shades: :)

Can you please let me know your dealer? Thanks!

No, this is not a good system but it is a very good system djm2 . I will test drive the car again before anything happens .

does it have to be cashier's check or a bank check is ok.
  • bigdon2bigdon2 Member Posts: 12
Sure. We got it from Victory Honda. Really nice internet sales representative. I guess I could have paid several hundred dollars less but feel really happy about the car and the experience. Good luck with it!

Here in Nevada; tax is 7.75%

    For a 2007 Accord 4dr 4 cyl Auto:

LX- ( with window tinting) OTD: $21,800.00 ($100.00 for the tinting)

SE- OTD ( with tinting) $22.800.00

If someone feels I can do better here, please let me know what price I should ask for!

    Thanks!

Can't wait to get this over and done with! :confuse:

anyone bought 2007 EX-L 4cyl AT in chicago area??? what s the best OTD price u can get ??? i m gonna get one !!!
    which is the good dealer
  • jack47jack47 Member Posts: 312
It's a lot easier to reply if you break it down...

    Base price
    Options
    Destination
    Fees
    Total

Add tax if you want...but it's really immaterial as, as you know, it differs in every state.

    Hello,

I live in South Florida, and just recently bought a 2006 EX Honda accord OTD $21,500. See below what I was quoted on the LX, and SE OTD. By the way, the sales tax in South Florida is 6%.

    LX 19,800
    SE 20,500
  • gerriberrigerriberri Member Posts: 44
    Will do!

    Hi,

    I bought a 2006 EX-L V6 for $24,300 including dest, doc fees,
splash guards, wheel locks and pinstripes.

    Is this a good price?
This was lower than the internet quotes I received in
    St. Louis, MO.

Is it worth paying $14 to get this report or would that be the same as the invoice price (+ rebates and incentive info) on edmunds ?

    http://www.consumerreports.org/carbuying

    Has anyone tried it ?

    Thanks !

    Was this a 4cyl EX or EX-L ? Which dealership ?

    Thanks !

I've used it before, basically the price they show is the invoice plus delivery destination minus the dealer holdback.
  • gerriberrigerriberri Member Posts: 44
    Here are the price breakdowns:

    LX
Base Price: $19607.80 ( includes $100.00 window tinting)

    Destination: $595.00
    Fees: $31.25
    Tax: $1565.95
    ----------
    OTD: $21,800.00

    SE
    Base Price $ 20,57.45 ( includes $100.00 tinting)
    Destination:$595.00
    Fees: $31.25
    Tax: 1616.30
    -------------

    OTD $22,500.00

So, what do you think? Am I getting a good deal? Do you think its worth the extra $700.00 for the SE model?

    Thanks! :)

    Hi Sandman,

So was the "absolutely" meaning they are both good deals, or its worth the extra money for the SE or both?? lol

    Thanks!

I just found out this new trim in the 07 line-up and really want to go for it. I have seen sb. getting 07 LX V6 $400 below invoice. Do you guys think it is possible to get the same deal for the SE V6 also?
  • jack47jack47 Member Posts: 312
Do you think its worth the extra $700.00 for the SE model?

I, for one, am particularly interested in the SE V6 because it comes with braking assist, traction control and stability control. The LX and SE 4's do not.

And no way do I want a sunroof.
  • ahmeman1ahmeman1 Member Posts: 3
I bought a 4 cyl EX from Sherwood Honda in Delray.
  • sandman46sandman46 Member Posts: 1,798
I prefer the SE for the extras that come with it. Wish I could've fit it on my side of the garage.

it's the exact same info you can get FREE here and on yahoo.com auto, for instance. just the invoice vs. sticker. I don't even know if they're current on incentives, but unless you just want to support the company, pass.
  • piloti_stipiloti_sti Member Posts: 62
I drove both the SE's and actually prefer the 4cyl. The brakes felt very "grabby" on the V6 and the motor didn't feel as strong as I had hoped. The traction and stability stuff I don't really see a need for I wont be in snow or driving it like a bat out of hell( have WRX STi for that!) Also, the ricer in me likes the faux carbon fiber trim in the 4cyl...

Yesterday bought 2007 Honda Accord LX 4 DR Auto 4cyl. Detroit area. Total including destination $19,200.00 + ttl.
  • jack47jack47 Member Posts: 312
Thanks for the input. Will have to check both out.

Actually I prefer the 4 cyc as I do limited highway driving...
  • dudleyrdudleyr Member Posts: 3,469
How is the 6 better on the highway?
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
Around town, there is little advantage to a V-6, but on the highway, the I-4 struggles a lot more to accelerate from 65 MPH to 80 MPH in a hurry. There, the extra 78 hp of the V-6 really shines.

The I-4 is adequate, just not "fast" at highway passing. I preferred the I4 too, because I get 39 MPG on many trips!
  • amaoamao Member Posts: 38
39 MPG? with regular gas? No kidding? That is fairly impressive. I want the V6 version also for the traction and stability control because I live in Jersey, a snow area.
  • gerriberrigerriberri Member Posts: 44
Just thought I would let you know, that I've decided to go with the SE. Have to wait until mid Nov for it to come in, but thats ok.

I think from all I've read here, I am getting a decent deal.

    Thanks for your imput!

    is this auto or manual?
  • jikjik Member Posts: 144
I was little taken aback by the MSRP listed on the sticker since its 750 higher to the MSRP listed on Honda site and then subtracts that 750 as a rebate.

I got estimates from two dealers here for SE 4 cycl auto incl destination charge.

One gave me 21.2 and the other initially quoted me 19.7 and later retracted to 20.2 (saying that the initial quote was a mistake for manual)

20.2 is in the range of price paid here on the forum. The forum really helped me to get confident of talking with these salesmen.

I found them to be more straightforward and seem to have left their earlier trademarks.

Its either take it or leave it.
  • w9cww9cw Member Posts: 888
He said "+ttl" which means the price he quoted did not include tax, title, and license fees.

Bought a 2006 Accord LX for 18.3K + TTL in Phx,AZ. Does anyone think its a good deal or just OK ?
  • piloti_stipiloti_sti Member Posts: 62
Seems pretty good, I was quoted $20.4 as a purchase price, but was for a lease deal so different situation.

Dont let them try to add on crap like appearance package etc. Like they pitched to me. They wanted $400 for Nitrogen in the tires..lol

What color are you getting, we like the Graphite and Cool Blue.
  • jikjik Member Posts: 144
    silver.
