    I just paid $19,600 for a 2006 Accord 4dr EX auto (destination included) + 7.75% CA sales tax + $250 in various Title & fees. OTD $21,369.

After settling on that price, they gave me a very good deal on my two trade-ins (more than I was quoted at CARMAX).

I might have done a little better if I'd pushed harder or waited for the end-of-the-month, but overall I think it was quite a fair deal.

Dealer was Hardin Honda in Anaheim, CA. Good folks. When negotiating based on other dealer quotes, be sure to have everything in writing (including confirmation that destination is included in the price, and any extras that others have thrown in.)

    Hi,

Nope, it's not a false advertisment. I got my white EX, I-4 auto for exactly $20,000...Go for it...there is a $298 dealer fee however. Hope this helps.

Could you please post some detail on your two trade-ins, and what the dealer gave you for them?

    Thanks

    HI

I had a great deal on a LX SE, it was manual, but I'd be happy to suggest some places to search. Email me if you'd like...

Hi. If it is alright with you, I would like to know how much you paid for your '07 Accord. We are about to get an Accord '07, EX-L v6, but haven't settled at a price since we are arming ourselves with pricing options to negotiate with dealer. We were wanting an '06 Accord but was told that our color choice, others for that matter, are out. I am trying to see if the Twin Cities Area Honda dealers still have '06 inventory.

    Appreciate your reply. God bless.

$2000 for 1996 Ford Explorer XLT, automatic, V8 with towing package, Cloth, 106,300 miles. Clean, Good Condition (consistent with age).

$3000 for 1996 Honda Accord EX coupe, 2-dr, 4cyl, automatic, cloth, 130,000 miles. Clean, Good Condition (consistent with age).

They both may have been worth a little bit more if I'd sold privately, but it was worth it to not deal with the hassle.

what was the kbb value for the two cars?

Just trying to get at the target for 06 EX auto

By the way, what tires does it have? People keep complaining that cheap tires delivered

If you already bought that I am really curious to know for how much you got that.

    I bought my 2007 auto EX-L V4 for 23165 + TTL from Burnsville dealer.

    Just bought my 2006 Honda Accord LX Auto - Price 18200 + NJ Tax 1274 + Reg 234 + Doc fee 189 + Tire 7.5 = $19,904 OTD. Could I have done better - any thoughts?

I found this forum a great source of research and information sharing about buying experiences. Got the above price on internet - thought would be able to negotiate on this, but the dealer would not bulge. The car was probably factory delivered the last night, with seat wrappings and just 3 miles on it. This, together with the fact that most of the dealers now are out of 2006 models, rushed me to close out the deal. Otherwise, I was expecting them to come down on the price a little more, with it being month end and all.

Did not take any dealer options or warranties. Got some part financed for 5 years at 7.5% (which I believe is too high for someone with excellent credit history), but I plan to make a few big payments early to keep the interest low and then close the loan out in 6-8 months (no early payment penalty). Any idea how early payout effects credit history, as that was one of the primary reasons why I opted for financing? May help me get better interest rates when I go out shopping for a house.

So its stated you must make 6mo. of payments? So your payments would be eg $9700 (two checks --one big un marked "to be applied toward principal) $50,$50,$50... In theory it should go down as "paid as agreed". There are many components to your fico score. Not all home lenders go by it either. In the perverse world of debt paying your debts off early (although still as agreed) could knock off a few points for all I know.

Imsanny, I am in NJ also. Where did you get your car? Honestly, I think your price seems a little bit high considering you still need to pay the dealer documentary fee. Also, are you saying that you got your new car financed for 7.5% apr? What do you mean by "some part financed"?

But anyway, enjoy your new car. I am looking for the SE model but it is all out around where I live.

FYI, Yesterday, I called Mahwah Honda for the price on 07 accord SE , they said MSRP 22200, invoice 20089, offered price 20800+tax+fees. I asked for lowering the price, he said if I bother to come over, he can go lower.
  • imsannyimsanny Member Posts: 4
I got it from Planet Honda and they had the best quote (I also had quotes from OpenRoad, Garden State, Madison, Kay and Nanuet, but OpenRoad, Kay and Nanuet later ran out of this car). With the extra financing doc fee of $72, the total out through door price came to an even 20k.

Once I got to the dealership, I decided on financing half of this amount. I was told earlier that the rate would be between 5 and 6, but was charged 7.5 finally, which sucked.

I guess with 2006 inventory running out fast, specially on Accord LXs - because the 2007 model is the same car at a higher price, I lost some of my bargaining power. Just curious - what are other folks paying for the LX in NJ?

But hey, it is the exact color I wanted, and probably a car that wasn't sitting long in their inventory. And, the dealer threw in free window etching ($200 value). Also, they mentioned something about free oil changes for life of car. I guess I should not complain :-)

    Hi,

I bought the 2006 accord EX-L last week Bethesda Maryland.
OTD was $23500. It is a silver and last one available.

Does anybody knows how I can extract manufacture date of the car?

    Thanks,

Enjoy the new car. But the dealers are cheating us. My friends got a price quote for Accord 2007 LX Sedan Auto around $20300. But considering the 2006 model is much older than 2007 model. We are buying a car sitting there for almost one year. I don't think the period of 7-10 is a good season to buy old car anymore.
  • imsannyimsanny Member Posts: 4
Does this $20300 include tax? If so, I paid almost the same price for a 1 year old model.

I'm leaning toward the Honda Accord but the dealer invoice for the '07 EX-L is not yet available on the Edmunds website. I'd like to get the homework done before negotiating with the dealer. Does anyone have the cost data available? Thanks.

I got an offer $14,500 for a certified pre-owned 2002 silver Accord Ex 4Dr with 41000 miles. I walked away with this offer. What do you think about this offer? thanks

    Hello all,
I'm getting some prices from dealers & trying to figure out where to go (these are all around the Bay area, CA):

Dealer #1) 06 Accord Sedan AT EX-L w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $27,439.53 (he said if I come in today he could go down in price though)

    Dealer #2) 2007 Accord Sedan AT EX-L w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $27,850

    Dealer #3) 2007 Accord Sedan AT EX-L w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $26,488

    Dealer #4) 2006 Accord Sedan AT EX-L V6 w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $26,488

    Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!
  • anderson123anderson123 Member Posts: 17
It is OTD price. However the OTD price highly depends on your location. One of my college friend got a quote from MN for 07 LX Auto Sedan, $20000+TTL, and one post I saw on other forum is $20000 OTD, whose location is unknown. So just enjoy your new car. It is not possible that everyone can get a great deal. Normally dealers are beating us.

    Geeman,
where did you end up buying in the Bay Area, and who did you work with there?
  • elpidoselpidos Member Posts: 5
Last week I bought Accord 2006 EX Leather 2.4L (OTD: $23500) from Bethesda MD, but today I found intensive rusts on the surface(edges) of disks (or drums), which are inside of the wheel.

It was built in Jan/2006. Does it make sense?
    Any advices?
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
Oxidation builds up on the discs of many cars these days when humidity is in the air. I have what looks like rust on my discs all the time, and it is no problem! Don't fear.

    Purchased a EX-L 2006 from Route 22 Honda,NJ for $23400 OTD.
This was the last one on the lot as well.
  • tallman1tallman1 Member Posts: 1,874
You may not get many responses because OTD prices can't be compared with other areas.
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
Agreed. OTD price is totally irrelevent and worthless to those trying to get the best deal in the other 49 states. Taxes run from 1% to 8% and are not negociable so leave them out of the deal if you expect any valuable input.
  • flubflav31flubflav31 Member Posts: 12
Ok, OK! I see now. So what prices are people getting for the 06 Accord Sedan AT EX-L w/ Navi. currently?
    Thanks for the heads up.

What do you guys think about the 2006 lease special?
$199/mo + $1,999 cash at signing looks attractive.
I've never leased a car before, so I'm not sure if there's anything in this offer that I would watch for.

I'll be driving it Home Work (we use wife's 2006 Odyssey, which we own, for trips), which puts about 5k/yr so I'm not too worried about mileage restrictions.

    Pros/Cons to consider?

    Thanks,
    Alex
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
If you divide the number of month of the lease into your upfront money and add that into your payments you get a more accurate assessment the deal. If your lease is for 3 years your payments are actually around $255 taking into account your down payment
  • amaoamao Member Posts: 38
Got a quote today for $20387. I think it is a fair price. But how often does Honda offer rebate to customers or incentive to dealers? Considering 07 will be the final year for the current design, probably I should wait a bit longer.
  • ilovecars1ilovecars1 Member Posts: 119
which state are you located? I got 20800 in NJ.
  • gohyundaigohyundai Member Posts: 4
Just got a quote for 18.5k otd. The target price from carsdirect.com is 17.6k before TTL.

    Is this a good price?
  • amaoamao Member Posts: 38
I am in South Jersey. Let me double check if the price includes the destination charge. Last time when I got the quote for 06 SE from this dealer, it did.
  • anderson123anderson123 Member Posts: 17
Normal. If you can get 18.0K, which is ok but not a decent deal. Good luck

    Two ?s:

    1) When do the dealers generally sell out all of 2006s? I talked to Fairfax Honda on the phone and he said they have sold all 2006 Accords. Since I work close by, I went personally to the parking lot and counted at least 4 2006 EX-Ls. Why would he lie? May be trying to get me panicked.

    2) Any way, he gave me the following quote:
    2007 EX-L 4Dr Auto, 4cyl:
    $23,800 plus Frt,Proc,TTL
    $25,510 Out of Door (incl 600Frt, 290Proc, 40Tag, 790 Tax)
    What do you guys think?

I would imagine that the 2006s won't be around much longer since the 2007s are all that's being made now.

Not sure why the saleperson was giving you wrong information, but maybe he didn't know they still had some in that model year. You'd think that they would want to get rid of the 2006 models as soon as possible.

I paid around $21100 for my 2006 EX-L w/o Nav I4 automatic without any of the dealer installed options in Maryland. My OTD price was $23000. The manufacturer to dealer incentive of $750 on the 2006 models is good until Sept 5, so the delearships can go below invoice and still make money. The invoice price is $22571 for the 07 Accord so I think the price they gave you is a bit high since it's not even close to the invoice price.

If I were you I'd try to get an 06 since there's pretty much little change between that and the 07s. Although you color options might be limited right now.

I solicited my quotes through Edmunds from 5 or 6 dealers. I didn't even have to talk to a salesperson until I picked up the car. :)

    Good luck

    I just bought a 2006 Accord EX, V6 Sedan w/ Navi. yesterday:
The Cash Price includes 2 added options: Fog lights, & the iPod Link system.

    Cash Price: $25,821.85
    Document Fee: $45.00
    Sales Tax: $2232.26
    License Fee: $171.00
    Registration: $63.00
    CA Tire Fee: $8.75

    Out The Door Total: $28,341.86

Bought the car in Oakland, CA.

Any thoughts on whether this was a decent price for this car?
    Thanks.

How much did you pay for iPod Link system? How much for installation?
  • flubflav31flubflav31 Member Posts: 12
My price above ($25,821) included the iPod Link system + its installation, as well as the Fog lights + their installation.

I think he was asking what your price was with these items seperately; meaning, what did your dealer charge you for the particular options?

Just clarifying on carbuyer100s behalf. :)
  • flubflav31flubflav31 Member Posts: 12
Ya, I understood the question. I guess I should have been more clear: I didn't ask for a breakdown of numbers. I negotiated my bottom line price including the iPod + Fog + installation. So my "Cash Price" includes all of those items, but I don't have an itemized breakdown which could answer the question of how much I was charged for the iPod system or its installation. Hope that helps to clarify.

I wonder whether I can get a price near invoice price or $20k OTD. I would appreciate if you share your experience.
