After settling on that price, they gave me a very good deal on my two trade-ins (more than I was quoted at CARMAX).
I might have done a little better if I'd pushed harder or waited for the end-of-the-month, but overall I think it was quite a fair deal.
Dealer was Hardin Honda in Anaheim, CA. Good folks. When negotiating based on other dealer quotes, be sure to have everything in writing (including confirmation that destination is included in the price, and any extras that others have thrown in.)
Nope, it's not a false advertisment. I got my white EX, I-4 auto for exactly $20,000...Go for it...there is a $298 dealer fee however. Hope this helps.
Could you please post some detail on your two trade-ins, and what the dealer gave you for them?
Thanks
I had a great deal on a LX SE, it was manual, but I'd be happy to suggest some places to search. Email me if you'd like...
Appreciate your reply. God bless.
$2000 for 1996 Ford Explorer XLT, automatic, V8 with towing package, Cloth, 106,300 miles. Clean, Good Condition (consistent with age).
$3000 for 1996 Honda Accord EX coupe, 2-dr, 4cyl, automatic, cloth, 130,000 miles. Clean, Good Condition (consistent with age).
They both may have been worth a little bit more if I'd sold privately, but it was worth it to not deal with the hassle.
Just trying to get at the target for 06 EX auto
By the way, what tires does it have? People keep complaining that cheap tires delivered
I bought my 2007 auto EX-L V4 for 23165 + TTL from Burnsville dealer.
I found this forum a great source of research and information sharing about buying experiences. Got the above price on internet - thought would be able to negotiate on this, but the dealer would not bulge. The car was probably factory delivered the last night, with seat wrappings and just 3 miles on it. This, together with the fact that most of the dealers now are out of 2006 models, rushed me to close out the deal. Otherwise, I was expecting them to come down on the price a little more, with it being month end and all.
Did not take any dealer options or warranties. Got some part financed for 5 years at 7.5% (which I believe is too high for someone with excellent credit history), but I plan to make a few big payments early to keep the interest low and then close the loan out in 6-8 months (no early payment penalty). Any idea how early payout effects credit history, as that was one of the primary reasons why I opted for financing? May help me get better interest rates when I go out shopping for a house.

But anyway, enjoy your new car. I am looking for the SE model but it is all out around where I live.
Once I got to the dealership, I decided on financing half of this amount. I was told earlier that the rate would be between 5 and 6, but was charged 7.5 finally, which sucked.
I guess with 2006 inventory running out fast, specially on Accord LXs - because the 2007 model is the same car at a higher price, I lost some of my bargaining power. Just curious - what are other folks paying for the LX in NJ?
But hey, it is the exact color I wanted, and probably a car that wasn't sitting long in their inventory. And, the dealer threw in free window etching ($200 value). Also, they mentioned something about free oil changes for life of car. I guess I should not complain :-)
I bought the 2006 accord EX-L last week Bethesda Maryland.
OTD was $23500. It is a silver and last one available.
Does anybody knows how I can extract manufacture date of the car?
Thanks,

I'm getting some prices from dealers & trying to figure out where to go (these are all around the Bay area, CA):
Dealer #1) 06 Accord Sedan AT EX-L w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $27,439.53 (he said if I come in today he could go down in price though)
Dealer #2) 2007 Accord Sedan AT EX-L w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $27,850
Dealer #3) 2007 Accord Sedan AT EX-L w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $26,488
Dealer #4) 2006 Accord Sedan AT EX-L V6 w/ Navi. + fog lites, OTD= $26,488
Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!
where did you end up buying in the Bay Area, and who did you work with there?
It was built in Jan/2006. Does it make sense?
Any advices?
This was the last one on the lot as well.
Thanks for the heads up.
$199/mo + $1,999 cash at signing looks attractive.
I've never leased a car before, so I'm not sure if there's anything in this offer that I would watch for.
I'll be driving it Home Work (we use wife's 2006 Odyssey, which we own, for trips), which puts about 5k/yr so I'm not too worried about mileage restrictions.
Pros/Cons to consider?
Thanks,
Alex
Is this a good price?
1) When do the dealers generally sell out all of 2006s? I talked to Fairfax Honda on the phone and he said they have sold all 2006 Accords. Since I work close by, I went personally to the parking lot and counted at least 4 2006 EX-Ls. Why would he lie? May be trying to get me panicked.
2) Any way, he gave me the following quote:
2007 EX-L 4Dr Auto, 4cyl:
$23,800 plus Frt,Proc,TTL
$25,510 Out of Door (incl 600Frt, 290Proc, 40Tag, 790 Tax)
What do you guys think?

Not sure why the saleperson was giving you wrong information, but maybe he didn't know they still had some in that model year. You'd think that they would want to get rid of the 2006 models as soon as possible.
I paid around $21100 for my 2006 EX-L w/o Nav I4 automatic without any of the dealer installed options in Maryland. My OTD price was $23000. The manufacturer to dealer incentive of $750 on the 2006 models is good until Sept 5, so the delearships can go below invoice and still make money. The invoice price is $22571 for the 07 Accord so I think the price they gave you is a bit high since it's not even close to the invoice price.
If I were you I'd try to get an 06 since there's pretty much little change between that and the 07s. Although you color options might be limited right now.
I solicited my quotes through Edmunds from 5 or 6 dealers. I didn't even have to talk to a salesperson until I picked up the car.
Good luck
Where were you getting that price quote from?
I'm looking for that same car in the Bay area and would love the info!
Thanks.

Just clarifying on carbuyer100s behalf.
I wonder whether I can get a price near invoice price or $20k OTD. I would appreciate if you share your experience.
