So about $23860 OTD. Dealers in Virginia will not waiver on the processing fee.
Pinstripes are worth little. To many they are worth less than $0 because they don't even like them. Kind of out of date like white wall tires and add zero dollars of value.
Mats and splash guards are also worth next to nothing especially at the dealers cost.
I think you're missing the $347 customer service fee in the fine print at the bottom. Check this math out:
$1000 under MSRP
-$347 fee
+147 for free pinstripe, mats, splash guards
$800 savings total
I did the online quote requests from the dealers nearest me, all show "Internet Certified" on the Honda Website, but most of them won't give quotes over the internet, they are just call center people trying to bring you into the dealership.
I do have a few that are genuine Internet Dealers, and that's all i want to deal with.
Anyone else get this treatment?
One internet dealer quoted me a price on the EXL NAV saying he had several in stock - Since i know the MT is a rare care i knew he meant the AUTO. So i replied via email saying i wanted the Manual Transmission, he reples saying Oh i thought you wanted the sedan, the price on the EXL V6 Coupe 6MT is (and quoted Sticker).
I replied back saying I did in fact want the Sedan but wanted the EXL NAV MT.
He just replied, and i quote "they do not make a manual transmision in a accord sedan for 2008."
How sad is it that dealers don't even know their own product?
I wonder if I should even dignify him with a response.
Ugh.
My brother was out of town last week so I had his 06 Accord I4 (177HP) and boy was I impressed the power it had for a 4 banger. I can't wait to get my 190Hp version!
He's probably confused in that they don't offer an MT on the sedan v6 this year.
However, it's my understanding that an MT with EX-L Nav is VERY rare. If you really want it, you're probably going to have to finalize your deal with a dealer beforehand, probably leave a deposit and be prepared to wait a good number of weeks until one is shipped.
One dealer on these forums said an MT Nav Accord is something that is very hard to sell. So the dealer has to take a chance that you won't back out.
You can probably get a much better deal on an automatic Nav, but if you really want the MT, you'll find a dealer who will get you one eventually. But don't be surprised if you run into a few dealers who are less than eager.
My brother has an 06 EXL MT Navi, he was out of town last week so I had it for a week long test drive. i loved it! and now I want one.
I'll put a deposit, no problem with that as i want the car. Problem is i'm trying to get a few prices with the dealer i'm gonna order it from. So car i'm at 1,000 under MSRP which i thought I could do better then as I'm gonna order the car, and when it rolls off the truck i'm gonna take it, so they get to keep all the hold back, as well as the spread on the Invoice to whatever I pay.
But now that i see all dealers are doing this i guess 1,000 under MSRP isn't bad.
I'm also looking at the Spoiler and Rear Camera accessories, so i'm tryin to work a deal to get these thrown in for somewhat close to dealers cost to help me feel like i'm getting a deal.
I'll be placing my deposit in a week or 2, and will keep posted.
Well the tricky part is it depends on how long it's going to take for the car to arrive. A $1,000 under MSRP is probably decent for this part of September, but 6-8 weeks from now when the car arrives, the market could be lower.
Maybe you can point that out to them and see if they're willing to move a little since, like you said, they'll get the full holdback and an easy sale.
Definitely keep us posted with how the order goes.
Has anyone bought lately in Washington or the Seattle area??
Comments?? Feel free to email me.
ps. These prices I see in CA and the East Coast are just not available up here in the Northwest....from what I've see.
I shopped for months before the car was launched and did the e-mail thing with the local dealers. By the way, I only did the e-mail with the dealers that would put quotes in writing. (Beware of dealers that only use the internet to get you into the showroom.)
When the car hit the dealers, no one would sell for less than MSRP. I started to realize from reading these forums that local markets have a strong bearing on price. So I looked for an out of market dealer, and I ended up finding a dealer (1 1/2 hour drive from our home -- each way), who had one EXL V6 Navi and he really wanted to sell the car. We agreed on the price, we got in our Pilot and I showed up and several hours later was driving home with our new car.
I have driven many cars, and I have to say this could be the perfect car for the money. Wow, Honda! I just wish Honda put as much into making sure the local dealers were honest. After talking to all of them, I was convinced I would never be able to trust their numbers, or buy a car and feel good about it, or not have to fight with the business manager.
With this out of market dealer, I got a very fair deal, took a car he'd have difficulty selling, and realized that there are honest and fair people in the car business. Try going out of your local market and you may just have the good luck we did.
I asked myself, how are they selling a car with an almost $31K MSRP for under the invoice at this time, so close to launch? It was just too good to be true. I ended up going to another dealer and paying $28870, plus tax and fees, for an out the door price of $30,566.
I've never believed these lowball prices, they will hit you up with all kinds of random fees when you go to buy the car, or get you with a high interest rate if you finance with them. Even if you get it in writing, it is unlikely that the business manager will honor your deal.
We filled out the American Honda credit application (I would not fill out a general credit application so they could sell some other loan where they'd make more money), and after 5 minutes he came back with a 5.99 percent rate for 60 months.
We took this loan to buy the car, but this was after the price on the car was agreed to.
What state/dealer did you buy from? This sounds like a great deal all around - '08 price and APR.

It's the Moroccan Red Pearl color and came with splash guards and wheel locks. We took delivery Thursday Sept 20th from Hendrick Honda in Charlotte, NC.
I have the exact car as your brother. I'm sure you will love the 08... looking forward to hearing all about it.
Dealer #1:
2007 Honda Accord, Silver Sedan Automatic w/ Nav. The price is $22,995 + $595 Freight + $100 processing fee + tax + tags $195 = $25,069 OTD
Dealer #2:
2007 cool blue 2007 exl-nav coupe automatic
22,594 plus tax, tags, freight $635, process fee $100, and dealer installed options if any.
My lowball offer for these cars would be $23,0xx and I forget what my target price is (there's a formula I followed on slickdeals.net for it).
If I can get the Accord for or around my lowball price, then I'll get it. Otherwise, I have a 2007 Honda Civic auto coupe w/ nav I can go for at the most (i say at the most because I haven't started negotiating this price yet) $19,390 + tax and tags.
so let' see what happens
Usually Invoice is 10% off MSRP.
You don't say what area of the country you are in. For all but the two very competitive CA and DC areas (which might go sporadically lower), if you can get the car for 2K under invoice, you should jump on it. 2007 inventories and selections are dwindling fast, and they are great values if you can pick one up.
If you want to try for lower and you are indifferent about whether you actually get a 2007 or not, then YOU propose a take it or leave it offer. Write them an OTD offer and hand it to them, if they don't accept you walk. Go to another dealer and try same price or higher, repeat process. At some point you run out of dealerships or have bought a car.
