I contacted the internet manager at OURISMAN. It is as simple as going on their web site. They had an add out last week for $21,995 plus freight which is $750 and were waiving the $100 doc fee. At the $22K and change that some lucky person grabbed - that is a great deal. Honda's are mostly put together here in the USA - and they want to take down Toyota and push HYUNDAI aside. The supply disruption shouldn't be a big deal and now with the Bin Laden issue behind us, the potential for falling gas prices is far greater.

Willing to buy the car with the deal
What's the MSRP for the vehicle??
And could you give me the sales man's information via e-mail?
    Thanks!

    Hi all,
deal was end last Sat, last Monday May 2 2011 I try to help my cousin to buy a Honda Accord sedan i4 SE, dealer give me a price of $18,869, out of door (including tax,tag and freight) is $21143, but this time they want to add $1600 accessory (wheel lock, splash guard, paintstrip, trunk tray and rear spoiler) to this SE, new cost would be $22743. They still give .9% interest and pay first payment of his loan (if you own another Honda). We refuse the offer and walk away, now my cousin is regretting of not accepting the deal. This time we deal with different salesman, our previous salesman was busy with his customer, he nicely explains we only get a good deal at the end of the month and we may try again on end of May. here is my email: tamle44 at AOL.com if you need salesman name.

If you are buying at OURISMAN - just deal with the internet manager. You'll get a better deal. If not, try CRISWELL. $1,600 is a ripoff! Normally they throw in all season floor mats and wheel locks anyway. They should also be giving at least one free oil change and maybe more!

I purchased a New 2011 Honda Accord 4 doors V6 EXL-Navi for $27,800 plus Taxes and Tags.....the car also came with wheel locks and spash guards. I think I did pretty good.

As long as this was no demo and no trade was involved it is a good price. Best around here is $29,100 OTD.
  • njguy63njguy63 Member Posts: 11
This dealer quoted me the same car for $27,900+TTL so I went to Piazza Honda of Drexel Hill and paid just $27,255+TTL. Mine was also pre-installed wheel lock and mug guards.

Hello, Anyone can help me out? I plan to buy a new car with Honda Accord Sedan 2011 LX. Like others, I got a quotation from AMX ZAG, with $20607 (have to add $400 for accessories), and $21157. I also have some quotations from local dealers with $20800, $20900.

The prices are include the destination fee, but not include the tax and TTL. These quotations are much higher if I compared the prices bought in this forum. The dealer explained to me, that the earth quake in Japan made the price increase . I do not know if this explanation is true or not and how can I go to the next step for negotiation. What the price should be the good deal now. It is urgent for me to get the car.
I use $20034 price to negotiate with some local dealers (The ones with quotation $20800 & $20900), but both of them refuse to go further.

Please give your suggestions if you have. Thanks

Use ZIP 20874 as a starting point. You'll find that price better in Maryland. ALso, I just received an email from OURISMAN Honda in Bethesda. Honda LX for $17995 + 750 dest + $100 processing fee. The washington DC metro area is the best place to get a deal. If you can get there - or even buy it there and have it shipped to you - you'll get a far better deal.
  • xin233xin233 Member Posts: 2
    Thanks. 1sebringnow.
It is amazing that you got the price of $17995 + $750dest+ $100. Is it for LX auto or manual? Do you know the estimation of the shipment price from Washington DC to Seattle? It will be interesting to do it.

Sorry, I forgot to put my information, the Honda Accord Sedan2011 LX is Automatic not Manual.
  • 1sebringnow1sebringnow Member Posts: 136
You can get a price for them to ship the car directly to you - from Maryland. It would be under $700.00 i bet. No sure if it was auto or not. THey have vin listed as CP2E3BEW - look it up on line and you can see. I would call the internet manager at OURISMAN and discuss it. I am sure they will be happy to help. They can also take care of the plates, licencing and taxes.

I was very impressed with there internet manager - EVERYTHING we discussed, he made sure happened. The folks at Criswell Honda in Maryland as seemed to be the same way - but OURISMAN made me a customer. I also had them throw all season mats, wheel locks and splashguards and door trim into the deal. $100 bucks for the trim an splashguards installed.

I've been following this thread for a few months, and after all the talk about Ourisman Honda giving the best prices I thought it may be worth the 3 hour drive to buy from them. I sent for internet quotes and to my surprise Ourisman Honda gave me the highest price quote I received from about 10 dealers. My 3 local dealers all within 10-30 minute drive actually had the best quotes. I live in suburbs of Philadelphia.
BTW, I currently own a 2008 Honda Accord EXL V6 Sedan which I bought new and it's been the most trouble free car I've ever owned.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
They know you will shop their price and if a trade is involved it would further muddle the price quote.
  • bigtcbigtc Member Posts: 12
I understand dealers know you will shop their price around but I don't understand why some dealers give quotes that are not competitive with other dealers, doing so takes them out of the game.

Most consumers will only shop the 2 or 3 dealers with the lowest quote and dismiss the rest.

It's no secret that dealers send out for their own quote request from dealers within their area to see where they fall in pricing. Also speaking from past experience the dealers with the highest quotes usually offer the least amount for your trade, my guess is because they sell less volume and they try to make it up on the trade in.

Not sure about the Honda incentives to dealers and price increase due to earthquake. But prices from Edmunds/Trucar/Amx zag are not accurate. Try negotiating for much lower price then what those sites are indicating. I bought 2010 LXP during Sep 2010 for 21k. I negotiated based on invoice price (around 20800) given from those sites. I am sure i paid more than 500 - 1000 extra for car. It was a big hassle to bargain car price , dealer added stuff and OTD price. You can ask them to remove those dealer added stuff if they haggle a lot.

    Dear all,

I am currently living in Augusta, GA, which located on the border of SC and GA. I plan to buy a 2011 Honda Accord LX auto transmission. I got some internet quotes. Some are from Georgia, others from SC and NC.

I found out that all the good prices came from SC and NC. The best OTD price I got is this one:
    2011 Honda Accord-LX-Automatic $ 20,157.00 + 186.50 Splash Guards + 299.00 Adm. Fee + 1,424.05 Ga. Tax + 78.00 Ga. New Plate
    Totally -------------------- $ 22,144.55 OTD

But this dealer is about 2 hours driving from my city.

The best quote from local dealer is $22,930 OTD.

    My questions are as followings:

1). Should I go and buy the car from the dealer in another state (which needs 1-2 hours driving)? I am worrying that if they play some tricks (for example, raising the price or saying that they don't have car with the right color, etc.), I will lose a lot of time and gas.

2). One of my friends reminded me that it is better to get a car from local dealer because if there is something wrong with the new car, you can easily bring it to the dealer and ask them to fix it. Also, it will be much easier to do the maintenance in the local dealer. Is he correct on this?

3). I want to make the purchase at the end of this month and get a good deal. But some local dealers called me and said they had less and less cars in hand because of the Japan earthquake and tsunami. So it is better to buy as soon as possible. Are they right?

4). Is there any friend in Georgia recently buy 2011 Honda Accord-LX-Automatic?
If it is a good deal, please inform me your price and dealer. I can try the same dealer and you get the $100 referral bonus.

    Hope to get your suggestions.

    Thank you in advance.

Please go back to previous posts and you will find that best deals are in Maryland. The two dealers that have great deals are Ourisman and Criswell and your price quoted is well above what folks are paying. If you are willing to drive you will save a lot!

Use Amex/Zag Car Buying Program and use zip codes for MD where these dealerships are located and you will get a quote that you printout and present it. They will collect GA T T & L.

Even in Texas where getting good deal is hard to find we had gotten a 2010 auto. Accord 4 dr LXP for my sis for 19,250 with $800 worth of "protection pkg." installed by dealer.

    Dear alookman,

    Thanks for your nice suggestions.

I did read previous posts and got a good quote from Ourisman. But they are 1800 miles/ 9 hours driving away. I also remember that they can transport the car to with $750 charge.

So I am still hesitating if it is worthy to buy from Ourisman and Criswell.

I will discuss this with my wife and decide later.

    Dear Indydriver,

My 2009 Odyssey EX-L (VCM) Engine burns 2 quarts of oil between changes. Could you please give me a link to the "threads regarding excessive oil consumption" you mention? Even more important, could you give me a link to the "press release on the 2011s where it was stated by Honda that they had changed one of the piston rings in all engines and incorporated moly impregnation into the piston skirts?" Any other information you could send me regarding this, would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

Dino, sorry I don't have the direct links. But if you just google you'll find plenty of Accord and Ody threads with owners unhappy with oil consumption. I've also done a lot of reading on BITOG lately and there are reports there as well.

Edit: I found this quote on BITOG reportedly from a "Honda/Acura press release"...

"The most significant [improvement] for 2011 is the use of numerous friction reducing technologies applied to both the 2.4L I-4 and the 3.5L V-6 engines. The reduction of internal operation friction enables the two engines to deliver improved and class-leading fuel efficiency.

Both the 4- and 6-cylinder engines make use of a new plateau honing technique for the cylinder bores that generates a smoother surface. As a result, the piston rings achieve more consistent contact with the cylinder walls which generates improved ring-to-bore sealing along with reduced overall friction.

With the 2.4L I-4, the pistons make use of a new low-tension piston ring that reduces operating friction while the 3.5L V-6 uses a redesigned ion-plated piston ring design. In addition, the outer skirts of both the 4- and 6-cylinder pistons now feature a molybdenum coating applied in a unique dot-pattern application. The result is reduced overall friction as the pistons move within the cylinder bores.

Other friction reducing items include the use of lower viscosity engine oil (0W-20 weight versus the previous 5W-20 weight oil) . . . "

To the OP, I have obtained two quotes of about $22,500 out the door in the middle Alabama area for an LX-P, so your LX price seems high. I'd recommend you consider the LX-P for the extras you get for a small increase in price over the LX. This price of $21,300 for the car itself is about invoice, but I know they are at least getting back $750 from Honda. I also hope to get it down to $22,000 out the door by waiting until next weekend or the last day of the month when they have to sell maybe just one more car to meet some quota. Also, these good prices came over the internet, so I think I can do better when I go there in person and they will not want me to leave without selling me a car. Good luck.

I also was quoted $22500 OTD for LX-P. I really feel like I should be able to get it for $21900 or so..This is how I am getting there is this realistic? Invoice is $20841, MSRP $22980....I think their is 3% holdback on MSRP which is lets say $660 and I think a dealer can be happy making $300 on a deal which means they can come $300 off invoice so thats say $20500 and the $750 shipping can be offset against I think there is a 750 incentive offered by Honda right now to the dealer so thats a wash. 7% tax on 20500 is say 1400 so I think 21900-22000 OTD is doable?
  • rustumrustum Member Posts: 100
Do we expect similar reduction in overall friction after break in period for 2010 cars. Honda is ok with using 0W-20 engine oil for 2008 - 2010 models. 2011 models also comes with new ATF fluid.

Does anyone have any experience in Southern California? I'm looking for a 2011 Honda Accord 4 door EXL V6 and seeing an Amex Zag price quote of $27,500. There's some manufacturer-to-dealer incentive expiring at the end of the month so I'm wondering if I can get cheaper and how much.
  • familyguy9familyguy9 Member Posts: 17
Have three quotes on the LX-P sedan here in NJ. These are all before destination, taxes, tags, docs, etc. Invoice is $20,841 according to Edmunds.

    1. $20,500 with wheel locks (a $56 option).
    2. $20,600 with wheel locks.
    3. $20,490.

These seem reasonable to me, based on % off invoice. But I see quotes on here from others that were below $20K.

Did prices increase recently? Or am I just not pushing hard enough? I had two dealers quote over $22K who I blew off. Dealers 1 and 2 started right at the invoice price.
  • 1sebringnow1sebringnow Member Posts: 136
If you didn't know, there still is a $750 cashback out there on all Honda Accords and that ends May 31, 2011. If I were you, I would contact the internet managers at OURISMAN and CRISWELL Honda in Maryland and see if they could beat those prices. I bet they do it easily. You'll need to drive down there - but it will be well worth the money saved.

I bought an SE at OURISMAN and paid $19,658 in January - I added a few items but even with the $100 doc fee I was at !9.958 OTD before reg and Tax. They took care registration and taxes - as I live out of state - the whole thing took 45 minutes. Why would you spend all that extra money in NJ? Good luck with the purchase, but if the NJ folks don't want to deal, go to Maryland. Go on AMEXZAG.COM choose your car use 20874 as the zipcode and see what happens.
  • familyguy9familyguy9 Member Posts: 17
Thanks. I sent an email to Ourisman.

As for the $750, the information on the internet seems to suggest that is for lease or finance deals, and I am paying cash money. I guess Honda feels they will make up the $750 on the interest, etc.

Invoice less 2% of MSRP for holdback gives me dealer cost of $20,380, not accounting for the $750 cash back. So these quotes I am getting are a couple of hundred over cost, assuming my math is right and the $750 is not available.
  • familyguy9familyguy9 Member Posts: 17
Ourisman came back at $20,940, which I assumed includes the $750 destination charge, even though the notes on the quote seem to indicate otherwise. At worst they are the highest, at best they would be lowest at $20,190.

I now have a quote from Honda Freehold of $20,345. Next lowest in the area is $20,500 (Academy). It is not worth my time and tolls and gas to go to Maryland to save $150 bucks.

    Thanks for all the advice.
  • flash931flash931 Member Posts: 5
Did your 27,900 include dest fee?

How much did you pay for reg & doc fees?

    I've been quoted 25,818 + dest+doc+reg+sales tax(7%) for exl-v6 with no navi.

I think it's a good price but I'm trying to see if I can get better..
  • flash931flash931 Member Posts: 5
    Hi,

I got a $26,200 quote for EX-L V6 without Navi excluding sales tax+doc and reg fees.

I think there is room for negotiation but want to know how much others have paid.

    I live in NJ.

    Appreciate a breakdown.

    Thanks

    Thank you indydriver!

I'm trying to see if the 2011 Odyssey might have the same oil consumption problem (burns 1/2 quart per 1000 miles) as does my 2009 (dyssey EX-L and as do many other 2008--2010 Variable Cylinder Management engined models (e.g. Accords). Honda theorizes that in some of these cars, when the cylinders are "managed" and shut off to save gas while coasting, the pistons and their rings cool, shrink, and lose oil into the combustion chambers. Most of the threads of people with this problem tell tales of Honda not honoring warrantee for this problem. Honda has told me that it was my problem for buying a lemon.

    Thanks again!

Hi there, I am new here, this is an excellent forum!

Just got a quote from my locate dealer today for a 2011 Accord LX (AT), I live in NY

    ==============================
    2011 Accord LX (AT)

$19950 included everything but Tax (8.8875%) and DMV fee

    ==============================
is it a good deal for now?

Can I get a lower tax if I get my car in other states such as MD?

    Thanks everyone!
  • eenkmeenkm Member Posts: 4
If I want to upgrade to a SE from a LX (not even LX-P)

what would be the price difference?

    $1500? both are AT

    Thanks again!
  • 1sebringnow1sebringnow Member Posts: 136
You'll get a better price in MD - around $1,000 better - Contact the internet Managers at OURISMAN or CRISWELL HONDA in MD. OURISMAN Sent an email advertising the LX at $17995 plus $750 Destination and $100 processing fee. These dealers can do the paper work to register the vehicle in NY - but you'll also have to pay the tax - the only difference is that since the car is over $1,000 less than what they are charging - you'll save that in tax or approx $100.

MD and VA just have better deals.

Hi 1sebringnow, thanks for your help!!

I have contacted OURISMAN and CRISWELL HONDA today

I told them I am from NY and I have an offer 19900 + tax + DMV cost

I said I dont mind drive 4 hrs to their dealership this weekend if they can beat this offer, then they offer me 19750+100doc fee + tax +DMV cost

I told them my target is about 19250 + tax + DMV cost

the sales manager tell me they cannot do that price and he said he only have 2 LX left in the inventory.

Can you fwd me the email you received from OURISMAN?

    I really appreciate!!

P.S. also thinking about upgrade to a SE, they quote $21500+tax+DMV cost

so I can ask for a better offer also? thanks and happy memorial day weekend everyone : D

Mine with Navi I paid $27,255 plus TTL (tax, title, doc fee, registration, etc...).

I initially was looking at the one without Navi and I was quoted at $25,315 plus TTL. The dealer I bought it from Piazza Honda of Drexel Hill, PA.
  • njguy63njguy63 Member Posts: 11
    flash 931,

All of my quotes are destination fee included but tax, title, doc fee, and registration are extra. I don't know what state are you in but if you live near PA then you better check Piazza Honda of Drexel Hill where I bought my car from and this dealer gave me the lowest quotes in this areas with no string attached. I live in NJ and none of the dealers in NJ gave me the same or even closed to the the quotes from Piazza Honda. The lowest quote I got it from Honda of Turnersville was $29,500.

I have been negotiating price for Honda accord sedan EX-L V-6 with navigation, and the best price before today was 27,650. This translated into a lease price of 395/month 36 month12k miles per year with $1050.00 at signing (includes fees and mv). Tax included. Price shopped today and got monthly cost down to $365, same $1050.00 at signing. Would appreciate any advice if this is good deal.

I got a quote of $24,700 plus TTL for a V6 Accord EX-L w/o Navi today. Yeah, that's no misprint. After last weeks article where the Accord was rank last(I disagreed), sales must have dried up or something. The price is just about right to steer me away from a Altima 3.5 SR.

Anyone can tell me what the incentive is for this month. If it's $750, I think I can squeezed it down to $24000.
  • dzebradzebra Member Posts: 3
For the V-6 it is $1500, $750 for 4 cylinder. What state/dealership is this? Awesome price.

I bought through the internet manager at OURISMAN. I don't know how to forward you the email. But, I am having an issue receiving emails right now. Will do my best to find it and post it online for you. Don't forget there is a $750 rebate going on right now!

BTW I bought my SE in Jan for under $20,000 as I have posted in previous posts. OURSIMAN put all season mats and wheelocks into that deal., along with the dealer fee, door, fender and mud guards and I did there telflon treatement. There is also a first month payment waiver that they should do for you still if you are a previous Honda Owner. They need to work with you!

I'm skeptical. That sounds too good to be true if you really meant an EX-L and not just an EX. Where'd you get that deal?
