It is not tranny related, but RPM related. The A/c shuts off around 5000 RPM.
a cv joint problem is suggested when you hear a brrrt brrrt brrrt sound, usually in one but not the other direction.
1. I can easily order all the parts to assemble the EX-L console myself. Off Majestic Honda, about $275. The issue is how to mount it to the floor.
2. The right side seat in EX is different than EX-L. The EX has the brackets for the flip center tray console welded to the seat frame. You can pull the Tray Console out, but the brackets are still there, which would prevent the EX-L console from fitting in between the seats.
3. The EX Tray Console brackets can be cut off to make room.
4. The last hurdle. We don't know if Honda placed the holes in the floor pan and/or bolts in the floor to accept the EX-L console mounting plate (can see in parts diagram). My dealer says I have to find this out somehow, but unbolting the seat myself or paying them to do it. If the bolts are in the floor, we are home free. If not, I have to take the Honda to a body shop to have the mounting plate tacked to the floor, (welded).
Now, is this a lot to go through to get a place to store your wallet, cell phone, gum and loose change? I don't know. I will be keeping this car for 10-12 years. I don't know what the alternatives would be at this point. I thought about getting a wicker basket and using velcro to keep on the floor between the seats.
Does anyone else have passion about this problem? What are your thoughts?
G
good luck.
Thanks. :confuse:
Funny, some cars do this pretty often and others don't.
The other morning our CRV decided to do this and it surprised me.
My problem also seemed to go away after using Gumout Fuel System Cleaner but I am now convinced it was just a coincidence. That is, the Gumout could not have had any effect on the problem because fuel never gets anywhere near the throttle position sensor. The sensor measures the position of the throttle body's butterfly by sensing the rotation of its spindle. The sensor is actually on the outside of the throttle body. Furthermore, the butterfly only regulates the amount of air entering the engine. It does not regulate fuel flow. (i.e. The engine, being port-injected, only gets air through the throttle body - not fuel.)
So, although the Gumout probably cleaned up my injectors (the engine does seem to be running better now), it could not have fixed the sensor problem. The only way to fix the sensor problem is to have the throttle body replaced. And, I had that done last week after my dealer did some "negotiating" with the Honda rep. I would up paying for the labor but the part was free.
Note: I have been driving Hondas/Acuras for about 30 years now and have been using the same dealer's service department for most of that time. (i.e. My Honda brand loyalty may have helped out.)

to know who the CEO or the VP is of a company. That is the American way as far as I know.

His name is Takeo Fukui. Good luck, let us know how you make out.
However, my personal opinion is that you should be working thru the correct service channels that are set up to handle your problems (dealer and customer care help desks). If unsuccessful, then lemon law process.
Was the dog laying on the floor in the front or the back? With the dog in the front passenger seat, the sensor worked as designed. With the dog on the floor in the front it may have possibly jumped onto the seat momentarily or rested it's paw or tail against the bottom of the seat triggering the sensor.
Heck, my laptop triggers the Airbag off light.
If you love your dog, and don't want it to get killed or hurt in an accident, get a partition for the cargo area and keep it there. In an accident, your dog becomes a projectile, unless you have tought it how to wear a seatbelt. Such projectile can hurt you or any other occupant, and do you really want your dog to fly head first through the windshield?
Much too new a car to have fluid leaks, especially if it is as simple as a pan gasket.
General recommendation is to follow the OWNER's MANUAL, to the dot, including the oil change frequency.
It is much safer for your dog to be in the rear cargo bay since he is not firmly attached to the seat. In a collision, the long leash will allow him to gain enough momentum to snap his head off when the leash attached to the seatbelt stops him from flying out the window.
See if the Airbag off light still acts up when the dog is secured in the partitioned off cargo bay.
Cars are designed to carry people in the seats, not animals, hence the airbag off light acting up.
Thanks..
the airbag off light is still off and on...when my purse was on the seat it was lit..then on my return trip..same purse it was not lit...

How much does the purse weigh? and was it centrally located in the seat?
When you drive, do you sit up straight or lean on the window sill?
Uneven weight distribution in the seat will cause the light to come on. It should be in your Owner's Manual, it is in my 2005 Manual.
BTW, excellent in the snow, no slipping at all at Donner summit in 9" of fresh...
Thanks
