In other words the new car cost you trade-in plus (how much) cash. Either I'm totally misunderstanding you, having a mental lapse, or you are getting taken for a ride and may want to back out of this "deal" while there is still time.
I'm wondering if the numbers have changed dramatically. My notes aren't dated (however, do go back to January for sure) but I have scribbled down here MSRP at $24,895. That was before what appears to be a slight increase in the pkg3 price. Are we talking about the same car here?" The discrepancy would seem to be the pkg3 cost.
I was at a Volvo dealership last fall. The salesperson was quoting an '04 S60 $3,000 cheaper than an '05 S60. But there was minimal difference between the '04 and '05 S60's.
Most people only care about the date of sale, as that governs when the warranty will run out... So, if you sold your car in '08 and it had one year of warranty left, it might be worth more to someone than a similar unit that was sold in September, '05.. .that only had six months of warranty left...
The only time I see anyone worry about date of manufacture, is when they are buying leftover units from the last model year from a dealer.. Some people would rather buy a car that has only been on the dealer's lot for 3-4 months, rather than 14-15 months..
That doesn't mean you shouldn't bring it up when you try to sell it.... you may have a budding career as a car salesman!!

When does Hyundai usually have its next year's models?
But for next-year models of an existing design, they usually come out in the fall.

I was trying to make it easier but here you go:
GLS V6 with Sport Package
MSRP $24493.96 (*Includes 3M Aftermarket Package)
Less used car allowance $13,000
Dealer Fee $599
Doc Fee $99
Sales Tax/Surtax $782
DMV $150
Rebate $1000
Rebate $1000
Rebate $1000
Consumer Check $800
Amount Financed $10,132.90
value was only about 9K. So he got a discount of 4K,
plus all the rebates. That's one hell of a deal.
But, on another note, the 3M package, can not be a legitimate added cost or price to the "MSRP". The MSRP is the number on the Monroney, the manufacturer's window sticker. No dealer adds other than factory equipment on the official window sticker can be said to be part of the MSRP.
Joe absolutely correct!. However the aftermarket sticker was figured into the total selling price of the Car. I would imagine I also paid tax on this somewhat bogus charge, but my figures remain the same!
I told them I would take a Blue LX instead. They were willing to deal if I forgave the $800 Customer Cash. I said no, as my Elantra only had 3000 miles on it anyway. To make a long story short, I have the Deep Water Blue LX, and it looks great! All my Sales figures are posted above. The Car seems amazing :P
Cool deal, my wife & I had our choice between the dark blue & the aquamarine GLS V6, we chose the aquamarine, but both colors look awesome on this car. Glad you're happy w/ your new ride, sounds great!
My ride is beautiful to say the least, Dark Cinammon with biege leather interior.
I can't believe how great the LX seems! I will say the Blue highlights some of my great looking scratches. Very poor Dealer prep, in fact the worst I have ever seen. Yet I walked off the lot saving thousands, might have been my best deal ever. I'm thinking my selling dealer will be going under soon, but life goes on!. The Tires & Rims on the LX are great, the electronic rear view mirror/compass/garage door opener will probably be a pain. I do enjoy seeing the direction projected in the glass. My Subaru was different. The Trip computer is great, it tells your MPG, and how many miles you have worth of Gas. The auto climate system seems to work great. The 6 Disc MP3 upgrade will hold about 4 Gig of music. and the Leather is nicer than I had read about. You just melt into the back seats, really soft! I started out just thinking Base GLS Sonata , and wound up with the top of the crop. Thanks for the kind words, everyone should get one of these!
Thanks
If I receive my $800 "Consumer Cash" back from my Dealer as stated in our Contract, I will have wound up with a premium LX for $19,300 out the door if I can accept that my 05 Elantra was worth $10K as a trade, or $18,300, if the 05 Elantra was worth $9K, as KBB says. My deal took a very strange turn for the better, and my figures are now certified!
Played my first Data Mp3 Disc in the changer today, and the player was not happy. Then played some other Data and Audio Discs, and the sound was incredible!. I think I need a better Burner in my Dell, as the Hyundai player seems and sounds just fine!
1. What is the best price I should expect in Georgia?
2. With the financing through HMFC, can you get the 4.5% rate for 60 months and the $1,000 rebate?
3. If the response to 1 is no, what is the rate being offered by HMFC with excellent credit?
4. Does HMFC compute interest under the Rule of 78's i.e, front loading the interest for a built in prepayment penalty, or is computed using simple interest.
5. What is the doc fee that is being paid in Ga. In Atlanta, its over $500. Since this is just additional profit to the dealer, has anyone purchased in Ga. with something substantially lower?
Sorry for the long post. Thanks for your guidance.
If I buy a new Sonata, I would certainly take advantage of the $1000 HMFC rebate, but would pay off the loan ASAP to avoid the high interest finance charges.
Assuming the car will cost $20,000, couldn't I make a down payment of $19,500 and finance only $500 to qualify for the HMFC rebate? This would dramatically reduce any finance charges. Is this allowed?

I told him I thought the rate was high but didn't really care because I had an offer from my bank at 6.2%. He asked me if I was going to refinance and I told him of course so he matched the rate the bank was going to give me. Everything is negotiable.

That's OK, I'm still trying to find this 'text' button. Just opened the Manual last night, learned lots about tethering Babies
It's just more helpful if it's all spelled out step by step. No harm, no foul... and nice dealing!

I don't have the nunmbers handy, but if for example MSRP is $23,500 and invoice is $21,800, you should be able to buy the car for about $21,800 minus any rebates you qualify for plus taxes and other state fees. Do not pay any documentation or advertising fee on top of the $21,800 (in this example).
And this is good advice to work with too, even though fees are usually built into the contract:

The best deal can only be found by being in the right place at the right time!. I am still amazed at what I paid for my LX, next to nothing with the Elantra 05 trade. Today I got it Buffed and Waxed, and it rained here in South Florida during the application. The good thing is I return next Week for another free Wash/Wax, and paint touch up application. The Car came thrashed from the lot. We have had many deadly storms here in the past 6 months. And even if we have another Rain event, the Sonata has 6.5 Inches of ground clearance!
I paid $19200 OTD on long island, NY. Price includes $1000+$1000+$400(graduate rebate). It should be a fair price here. The dealer is Atlantic Hyundai. The salesman told me they are the largest Hyundai dealer in north america with >1000 cars in stock - I don't believe that. But they are big indeed. The funny thing is, when I say I can pay in cash,..., the salesmand immediate suggest me to finance and then payoff the loan at as soon as possible! Even when I'm in the financial office, that funny guy also pursade me to payoff as soon as possible, and he doesn't even push me for any add-ons, just 2 minutes there, that's funny. I'm sure thats not because they have earnt enough on me :P
