At present time, I'm more interested in the 4 cylinder. Lighter, better balance, better handling, cheaper, still comes with all the "important" options. Plenty of power on paper and favorable reviews. I would maybe think differently if the reviews of the V6 included terms like "neck-snapping acceleration" - but they don't, so I don't.
We shall see how I'll feel after driving each - that will be my next poll - post test drive impressions of each. Then we will see how reality matches with press. I think we are all old enough here to realize that PR departments and auto-insiders exaggerate, but we will see by how much.
Next question: manual or auto? No need to test drive each for me - definitely manual.

Thank you for contacting Mazda North American Operations. I appreciate
the opportunity to respond to you.
In regards to your inquiry, the Mazda6 suspensions for the United
States and European markets are the same. To be clear, the United
States suspension is not softer than in Europe. I hope this information
proves helpful to you.
We appreciate your interest in the all-new Mazda6! If you would like to
be included in any future marketing updates, please send me your
contact information.
Zoom-Zoom!
BTW one thing I don't like is only one cig. lighter plug deeply recessed in ashtray compartment - no accessory plug for my cellphone.
so...slow the fear machines, the suspension remains.
Actually, I am with you on this one. Little things make a big difference over the life of a car. My good friend drives around in a new Sonata, which is proving to be a fairly thoughtful car as far as the little things go. It has the stuff that people expect, and little things that people don't. My favorite feature has to be the cell-phone cubby on the center console next to the aux power plug...talk about a handy design!
Zeong,
Was the response from Mazda signed with a name? please post if so.

since the day I was getting married, this is the first time I am so excited. Hope the 6 lives up to my expectations as my marriage did!!
So am I right in understanding that the sport version/package only adds wheels, interior trim modifications and the shopping cart handle - and no suspension modifications? I'd rather go after-market on the wheels, in that case!
And malt, if Rich does get a few vehicles a bit earlier than it makes sense to, that shouldn't be reason enough for you to deprive the rest of us of your presence and knowledge here! Its just good news that Mazda is getting better at releasing vehicles punctually, and is going to ramp up their production/delivery methods to meet expected demand, and plans to stock up dealerships before the advertising blitz
Don't forget the sport version also has side sills and different(oooo sportier) bumpers.
Glad to hear you're not serious about the whole fake bravado thing as well! No one can completely or confidently understand the workings of these large corporations, especially when the large corporation is controlled by a notoriously misleading and absolutely massive super-corporation! Long as they provide us with a car that suits our needs and brings s smile to the driver's face, every now and then, we'll buy their stuff!

Hoping to have delivery in a few days before lending it back for the dealer's media show, providing I don't wrap it around a pole because of that monstrous 2.0 Ltr. engine.
surely u mean un-informed? as opposed to uniformed?

As you can see, it's very well-equipped. All you really need is some alloy wheels and you're ready to rock! Of course, if you get the 6s, it already comes with alloy wheels so you don't need nuthin' else.
P.S. Correct I was born in Russia.
PSS Кто то тут говорит по русски?

Did u go speeding after all these cars?
How did u get so close to them?
it looks like they r in ur apartment parking lot.
Thanks - Mike
I think a 6s w/o moonroof will do just fine.
See http://www.mazdausa.com/mazda6/downloads/mz6_specs.pdf
for more detail.
I just hope Mazda doesn't bundle the sunroof with side airbag system. I would like that as an option.
Anyone have any inside info on this?
Honda did a similar thing with the last generation Accord. You couldn't get ABS and five-speed without getting a sunroof.
At least on the 4-cylinder models.
Dumb - if you ask me.
You could get this combo with the 6i automatic or the 6s automatic, but not with either of the 5-speeds.
Read post 1768 for full option combo details.
I forget, but I thought the ABS package was somehow tied to the moonroof when I read through the specifications PDF I downloaded from MazdaUSA. I'll give it another read-over tonight.
Why they package safety equipment with non-essential equipment simply boggles my mind.
I'll still look at the 6 when it comes out - but I'll probably look more closely at the Altima - at least (according to the Nissan website and Carsdirect.com) you can get a 5-speed with ABS and side airbags - without a sunroof.
How many are actually built that way is another story - but it is possible.
As I have mentioned before, I would gladly pay a special order fee ($500 or so) to order the car exactly how I want it - that goes for other manufactures as well.
I have a '91 Accord Coupe that I'm going to keep through the winter and then start seriously looking for a new car.
Do you think it could be as early as next Spring?
