Anybody have any thoughts on this comparison?
Thanks - Rob H.
So I have to start all over waiting for my truck to arrive.
My warning is to all folks who have ordered a Supercrew and received a dora from their dealer. On the dora is the priority code. On mine it was about four lines from the top on the right side. It clearly show priority 40 and had I known way back in January that that was not right I could have already had my truck.
So to those of you still waiting check to see what priority your truck has been given. The dealer tells me it is usually a "12" but this is the same dealer that said the truck must be in a rail yard somewhere.
So now I go back to waiting. Thanks to all of you for some great reading while I'm waiting.
By the way, my dealer has told me nothing. If it weren't for the VOPC, I'd still be in the dark and wondering if I was ever going to see my truck
Bob
Thanks in advance!

Crew 4x4 Lariat tomorrow and I still can't decide
on which engine. I have driven the 5.4 and like
it, but I don't plan on pulling anything
substantial. Considering the decreased gas mileage
and initial $680 for the 5.4, is it worth it?
Anyone with experience with a 4.6L in a big truck
like this? Any reviews of the 4.6? 4.6L gas mileage?
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW, I want to order a F-150 Super Crew Lariat 4x2, 5.4 v-8, tow package, limited slip and sliding rear window. Anyone recommend a florida dealer that can get close to invoice or does anyone know about how much I should expect to pay?
Many thanks.
FYI- I paid $700 over dealers invoice. Fair deal
Just like the pictures, no rear seat headrests.
I understand why they're not there: because Ford isn't required to put them in. But talk about stupid.
This may seem trivial to some of you, but not to me. And it's enough to keep me from buying what is otherwise a beautiful vehicle.
This isn't just because of the safety issue per se. It's also because I don't want to support such a cheap and short sighted corporate decision by Ford. They've created an obvious and glaring safety defect to save a few bucks.
Just my opinion.
Ford's just being cheap.
Thanks.
They are black, similar to a nerf bar but instead of round they are oval or a flattened round style that provides a flat surface for step-up.
Thanks for any help
I would not be concerned about the Screw being a new model. This crossed my mind when I was contemplating ordering mine last fall, but I reasoned the following.
The most important thing about a new vehicle, from my perspective, is the drive train and other related mechanical parts. Aside from a different placement of a rear shock absorber, the drive train and other external mechanical parts already existed on other F150 products in almost identical fashion to existing F150 products. The front doors come from the Expedition. The two most common complaints from F150 owners over the last 2 years has been cracking door/window issue and the piston slap on the 5.4. The doors is not going to be a problem because they used expedition door. The 5.4l they supposedly fixed and so that shouldn't be a problem either.
The only thing really new on this is rear cab design, bed design and some other internal items. As I mentioned in a previous post my Screw has on rare occasions had a wind noise on driver's side door at 70+mph. Other threads have suggested it takes a while for Ford weather stripping to seal properly, so I am waiting a little longer to take this in. Other than that my truck has been great.
Woody,
Congrats, on your truck. I have only seen 2 other Screws in Dallas (besides on lots) so far. And wouldn't you know it one was exactly the same as mine. Color combination, 2 wheel drive Lariat, exactly. I guess some one else has the same taste.
By the way, it is fun getting the responses I do in this truck. Yesterday at a stop light this guy kept looking over my truck and all he could do was keep giving me a thumbs up while he was wiping the drool off his mouth.
thanks?
I too am interested in the aftermarket steps and also the pray on liner. I may also want to replace the chrome wheels.
It's going to be a long 8 or so weeks. thanks gain!
By the way, what kind of deal did you get and where in VA did you get it? E-mail if you want to. Thanks.
future. As a result of my employer's Fleet business
with Ford a "special" offer is being extended to
it's employees which is Ford's X-Plan.
The information I have on this plan says it's a
"no haggle" four percent above dealer net invoice
pricing. Four percent above daler invoice doesn't
seem like a very good deal to me, especially when I
read in these forums of people getting deals
slightly over or even under dealer invoice.
Is anyone out there familiar with this X-plan? I'm
sort of confused as to why it's being touted as a
"good" deal. Thanks for any help on this.
