You get the cab steps and not bars on the SuperCrew. They look like what is on the Expedition however, they are not lighted. I myself prefer the cab steps for my young kids. Not likely to slip off or through with the solid steps as they are with the bars. They are the full length of the cab.
Woody and Mjohn, I have been sporadic lately. Work has been a bear. Good to hear ya'll are enjoying the trucks. Mjohn, I actually haven't heard the wind noise in several weeks. I read in another thread that sometimes it takes a while for weather stripping to seal properly. Hopefully that was it. Anyway it only happened at 75 mph and into a very strong head wind.
Still haven't made any mods to my truck. Called DFW Camper and they have a hard Tonneau for the SuperCrew. Want $750 for it. May go the Soft Tonneau and LineX instead. Planning on a grill guard as well. Keep in touch.
I'm really looking forward to this evening when I take it home. First long drive will be tomorrow.
Should be no problems as kids this size will either be in cars seats which can be well anchored in the supercrew or will be so short as to not have their heads above the top of the seat back. I have a 8 and a 10 year old and am not worried. The kids LOVE riding in the back. I would be concerned for their safety in the front with the airbag as there is no elective disconnect for the passenger airbag.

You can not delete the carpet on the 2001 f150 supercrew. I tried when I ordered mine, but it's not an option. I deleted the carpet on the last two trucks I ordered. They were a lot easier to clean with vinyl.

Just turned a 1000 miles today. I can't find enough excuses to drive this truck. To all who are still waiting, you won't be disappointed.

I hope you guys are enjoying yours as much as I am.
I have always had full-time 4 wheel drive systems - Jeep Grand Cherokee and Subaru Outback -and living in Wisconsin am wondering about the part-time system. There are a lot of days when half the road is icy and the other half is dry as a bone. I am concerned that if my wife(it's always the wife of course)is driving it, she will put it in 4WD for the slippery side of the street. When driving on the dry side she would probably not disengage the system possibly causing damage. Anybody in snow-land have any experience/comments with regards to that?
In case anyone is interested in an update from my earlier post of an oil leak, it's a head gasket. "Unusual for a truck with such low mileage." is what I was told. The mechanic is considering requesting a whole new engine, but has to hear back from Ford first.
What was the name of the dealer in Cincinnati. It might be worth the drive if I can't find anyone local oferring x-plan.
Woody Sanders Ford. I talked to the Fleet Manager, Mike Kaiser. Hope he can help you out.
Does any one know what kind of running boards/steps are available through dealerships for the Supercrew? I've seen chrome ones on the truck that look like steps, and I've seen black ones that look like boards (same as Expedition). I much prefer the chrome steps but these might have been after-market.
I hope to buy a Supercrew here in about 2 weeks and have been looking around. I have noticed the cheezy looking black "plastic-ee" step bumpers as well. I would definitely want to replace those. I have a friend with the chrome ones, I will ask him if they came on the truck or where he got them if they were an aftermarket purchase. He has the bed extender on his truck.
I realize many folks aren't as lucky but here in Southern California, all the dealers I've been to have had 20+ Supercrews and each one has had the one I want...the 4X4 Lariat. Our local "one price" dealer has it for $30,154 fully loaded which is $450 over invoice. I'm the type who doesn't like to haggle so I like that price a lot.
I'm just having a hard time pulling the trigger because I've always owned Toyota's. The one time I bought American (86 Chevy Blazer s-10) was not a great experience...not terrible...just not on par with the Toyota's and Honda's I've owned.
Scroll up to find the engine posting.
if ordering a car, i believe you can better negotiate dealer hold back plus ad fees.
Did I do OK?
OH, by the way...I LOVE the truck! Its a totally cool ride, and I turn heads all the way to work.
Stop by if you have a chance and drop me a line if you have suggestions or would like me to post a pic of your SuperCrew.
