There is no such rule/law in the US for automobiles PERIOD.
We only have been told part of the story and not the whole story.
you are correct you need the JBL in order to get XM throught the head unit. The JBL is standard on the XLE and Hybrid models but optional on the SE and Le models. The 449 package is for the reciever , wiring harness antenna and fit kit. It also waves the actrivation fee and covers the fee for 90 days.
I thought so but the configurator on the buytoyota.com site didn't add the JBL system to the price of a camry when choosing the XM radio option nor was there a JBL system to pick.. Just the XM price was added.
Maybe they are coming with the JBL here in SoCal as we bought a Corolla a year back and it was working out that way for them.
Anyways just some wishful thinking,
Joe

Congratulations! That was an awesome deal! I’m taking my parents to Longo tomorrow (2/18/07). The best offer so far is $21,600 OTD for ‘07 Camry LE 4cyl - automatic. Obviously $20,200 is a lot better. Would it possible to get the salesman’s info via email?
Thanks!

Camry LE I-4 Automatic
What does it cover i.e. (1) Bumber-to-Bumper or Powertrain (2) How much does it extend beyond the original 36 month/36000 miles B2B or 60 month/60000 miles powertrain (3) What is the deductible.
I am also deciding to add extended warranty for 2006 RAV4 4WD I bought last summer. Anybody know the pricing for that
I have signed a contract for basic 2007 Camry LE 4-cyl with carpets for $19,700 (MSRP=$21,754) at Freehold Toyota, NJ and am picking it up on Thursday

I have not been able to find what I want in inventory, so will the price be higher if I order one?
And how long does it take to get one?
There appears to be additional admin fees associated with the southeast (I'm in FL).
Sorry for all the questions
Thank you for all your assistance
I purchased the 36 Month/50,000 mile "Platinum" coverage for my Camry LE I4 for around $650 through Toyota.....I'll have to check the receipt.
I leased the car for 3 years/45,000 miles. The "Platinum" coverage provides me with free towing, tire changing service, gas service, battery service, rentals, possible reimbursements, and so on with a $0 deductible. It also covers things the factory warranty doesn't during the term of my lease.
The private party plan for the same coverage was about $300 more. Ask your dealer. Mine tried to go with the private party plan and I asked about Toyota.
The dealership said I could cancel the plan when I turn the vehicle in and receive reimbursement for the portion of the coverage that wasn't used too.
Good luck!
Only way to tell on some lots is to look at inspection stickers if your state requires them. In Texas the vehicle has to hve an inspection sticker in order to be driven
so I aleays look at the month to see how old the unit is
A couple of weeks ago I've picked up one of the loss leaders which are the "old" new cars the dealers want to get rid ASAP.
According to the sticker on the door it's been manufactured in November and had 5 miles on the odometer.
Is this a warranty or a service contract? $650 for a 3yr/50,000 mile sounds steep (and needless) for a car with a full 3yr/36000 warranty and additional coverage for the entire powertrain well past the 50,000 listed.
What could it possibly cover that a full bumper to bumper warranty does not???
-If I get a flat tire Toyota will come out and change it for me or tow me
-If I run out of gas or need a jump start Toyota will send someone out
-It guarantees that I get a loaner veh or a rental (up to $50 a day) for any covered work.
-I also get unlimited towing if the car "breaks down."
-It provides travel coverage up to $100 a day (hotel, food, etc.) if I'm out of town and it "breaks down."
Those are just some things off the top of my head. My girlfriend has my car right now and the warranty info is in the glove box.......Basically, it provides more extensive coverage than the factory warranty and I will be "completely" covered during the term of my lease.
I guess I would rather be safe than sorry and I didn't think the coverage was that expensive, especially compared to the third party warranties I looked at that were $300 to $500 more.
Can you please email me the dealer's address?
I am planning to buy a 2007 Camry LE.
My email is koolkott@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Ram
To each their own, but if I was only keeping the car for 45,000 miles, $650 sounds like a lot more "assurance" than I would need, especially since none of those things occur all that frequently to anyone.
Recently bought a LE camry with heated leather to be installed as after market deal. Dealer arranges for the installation. Wondering will this affect my warranty 3yrs/36000 miles by any chance? Will I lose it since I am installing heated leather seat!? Please clarify.
Thanks,
Shannu

Thx
I made a few calls, found the car we wanted at Northridge Toyota spoke with their Internet department and made an appointment to come in. We had to postpone a day but called in advance the next morning to be sure the salesman would be there, so we confirmed our appointment for mid-afternoon. He acted as if there were no changes from our previous conversations. Needless to say when we got there he took us out to the lot showed us a different color combination and confessed they had sold our car the day before. He had my number, and had he called to give me a heads-up we would have come out and looked at different colors, but by manipulating me into coming out to the dealership so that he could get paid for booking an appointment he lost my business.
I was beginning to lose hope when I called Longo in El Monte and spoke a fleet manager who shares the first name of a Nintendo game character "Super M... Brothers". M was like a breath of fresh air. He didn't try and play games, he shot straight with me and he gave me a great price fast. But you be the judge of it: 2007 Camry Hybrid loaded: MSRP $31,458 - "Super M" price $28,000 period. No hidden fees or additional charges (obviously I had to pay TTL). My experience at the dealership was exceptional we were in and out in 90-minutes. Including time we spent checking out the car. I am a believer. Codes on car are: CQ, LA, NV, SR, CF, V4.
Another suggestion...do the visit during a busy time (Saturday) when the salesman might be more distracted and less inclined to ride along.
It's not so much about income I don't believe than it is about the type of deductions you claim. My guess is that most Californians who are griping are probably stuck with high mortage interest (same for any large metropolitian area I assume) with the high cost of real estate. Although I understand that small business owners may have issues as well.
My income was in (well, it's a lot higher than average) and I still didn't have to pay the AMT.
It is something that everyone should have checked into if they were expecting the credit, but I don't think it's a big issue (except as always to those that are affected).
