Yep, Subaru usually adds turbos later on (Forester and Baja). But the Legacy did sort of come out all at once.

With a turbo you'll spill all the milk in those 10 cup holders!

I guess even MB's aren't safe!!
Brera looks like a Tribeca coupe! I love it! :-)
Check the grille (Zapatinas turned it upside down for Subaru), the hood, and the character line down the side.
They've been trying to build the Brera for ages, I believe.

You mean the new SVX, don't you?
Again, forgive me if I'm beating a dead horse but I just don't get out here the way I used to. I'm surprised no one has commented on the degree of similarilty in the styling of the B9X and the Alfa Kamal concept from 2003...or else maybe someone did and I haven't searched.
I'm trying to think of a nice way to put this, but I'm having a hard time of it. It just seems to me that Zapatinas is recycling previous designs for Alfa at Subaru rather than creating something entirely new for them. I hope his pay reflects that.

Wow... did that come in a metal container. Join Costco, I pay $2.59 for 2% (low fat) milk and $2.39 for whole milk (gallon). Pathmark by me wants $3.59 for the same.
Otherwise, I don't cry that much ;-)
Cheez...
SVX would end up looking a whole bunch like that Brera. The car mags could not stop gushing over how gorgeous it is.
I think the new face has more styling potential on a coupe than an SUV shape. Easily.
Costco milk around here is still $3.09 and up.

On the road home on the highway in the middle of the night I came up on a 05 Outback with no taillights on but front lights on. assumed he was using DRL's only- but then they don't light up the dash
I got a satellite radio plug and play unit in my OB. THe place that installed in had a bracket from the company that locked into the seame in between the woodgrain where my current stero is and the vinyl console. THey HW the power. Look good sounds great- LIstening to all of those 70's and 80's songs that I haven't heard in a long time.
Next stop- make the OB more industrial because I see to many on the road- need a brush guard
Robert
Turbo Honda would be a first.

This retro-styled hot rod pickup is a fiberglass reproduction piece modeled after a '39 Studebaker pickup and is dubbed the Kamotion. The trick is that it is mounted on top of a '83-'01 Chevy S-10 chassis.
I think there is more Studebaker in a new Subaru Forester with a manual transmission than in the "Blown Grape." At least an MT Forester has a Hill Holder clutch. ;-P
There are a few of these repro rods floating around; check www.1939studebaker.com for examples.
FWIW here's an example of the "design inspiration" for that rod, a '39 Studebaker Coupe Express pickup:

Gee what a week for weather. Tuesday was 38C or 100F. Tuesday night I was thinking of topping up the pool. Wednesday was the all time record coldest February day (13C or 55F) and the rain started. It fell steadily for the next 31 hours dumping about 187mm (7.5 inches) on our home. That is a bit over three months rain in a day. A river appeareed across our rear garden, the pool overflowed and to top it off, the power went out for 38 hours as a tree fell across the lines outside a neighbours home. As a large slice of Eatsern Australia was effected, it was a bit exciting. I went from trying to top up the pool to figuring out how to siphon watert off gven the absence of power and further forecats of more rain. There is something depressing about standing in the pre-dawn light, amongst the devastation by the pool wearing only boxer shorts while the rain beats down.
It is something of a baptism for the Kluger (Highlander) which I picked up in the middle of the rain. I can now confirm that it is quite good at all the All Wheel Drive bits and wades very well. I have been pleasantly surprised at many tof the features on the Toyota that I had not expected. Lights switch off automatically, not when you remove the ignition key but when you open the door. Interior lights snap on when you use the remote to open doors. generally a good feeling about it.
Fuel economy was high as I would expect on first tank of fuel but on second tank is already settling around 12-13 litres per 100km against theoretcial combined average of 12.3 l/100km. This looks promising.
I think I chose the right moment to sell the Outback. As I drove out to hand it over, there was a new noise and when I opened the rear hatch, I discovered that the leak around the rear lights had reappeared and they were full of water 9not really surprising given how wet it was.
I miss the sheer fun of driving the Outback but do not miss the juddery clutch which had reappeared after the clutch was replaced recently.
I'll give a fuller take on the Kluger later but have to go out and deal with Insurance Claims from the storm. I work as a Loss Adjuster and this storm has done some impressive damage. None of us feel too enthusiastic about woking on Saturday but here goes.
Cheers
Graham
Remember to put some pants on before going to work. ;-)

The 05 XT models have electro-luminescent gauges, which light up all the time. So I bet the dude was driving on DRLs only. With lit gauges and DRLs on, many drivers forget to turn on the head/tail lights. I know my wife does!
Craig
Sorry to hear about your weather and the damage. It does indeed sound depressing. We had just finished watching a Weather Channel special about global warming and the resulting instability in climate patterns. Beth shook her head as I read her your post.
But I guess it might be considered a conflict of interests if the first loss report you wrote up was about your own yard?
Steve
Good to see you today, BTW, my son even crawled into the WRC play car. I think he and your son will make a good WRC team in 2024 or so.

Juice was over at my house last night and was looking through this book I have on concept cars, and found it. It's my book, and I didn't know it was in there!
This is a new one on me. It preceded the SVX, but you can see hints of that vehicle to come. Also, you can see the first-generation Impreza headlights here, as well as a hint of the 3-part grille Subaru is now promoting.
It's powered by a 2.0 turbo flat four, and is AWD.
Bob
cheers Pat.

This is on a Dell 8300 PC: Windows XP, P4
Any suggestions for software and techniques for capture? Ideally, I would like to record each track individually rather than as just one continuous side. For burning to CD for car and portable CD player use, what format? MP3, WMA, WAV?
I looked at Microsoft Plus!, and it looks like it has much of what I need. Any other choices? Anything that is free, or a feature within another program? I have Pinnicle 8 for transfering digital camcorder to DVD. Eventually, I want to digitize my older Hi8 analog, which I plan to bring in thru my WinTV video capture card. Anyone know if it can import just the analog audio with this?
I sure wish I had more time to explore this stuff!
Thanks,
Steve
I used a simple recording program that came with the Creative sound card, and was able to record songs off albums individually, and store them into .wav files. You just have to play with the input source.
It was time consuming, and ate a lot of disk space - I believe 10mb per minute of music. Look into Shareware. There are programs that will take a side of an album, and split into tracks.
Using Roxio v6 - I was able to take the .wav files, convert and burn onto a CD, and play in the car.
I was not quite enthused with the sound quality of what I recorded (Deep Purple - Machinehead). Digital has me spoiled. I had better luck with remastered CD's or ripping down MP3's over the internet. Rob M.

It's pretty radical for a Toyota!

The other link I posted was still showing the prototype.

This is a bit of a surprise for me, as I thought it was going to be a 6-door pickup; not so.
