Good luck!
Thinking of the 2005 G35 Sedan, but has anyone else confirmed / heard about this "Sticky Gas Pedal" problem that was reported on the Department of Transportation's website? That's really disturbing...
Having the Gas Pedal stuck (and it seems that more than 1 person has experienced this), seems really dangerous/frightening to happen. It's dissuading me seriously from buying this car.
Also hearing about the various Lights coming on, etc. is tough.
Any help, please.
Thanks
Paul
Good to hear things have worked out. Could you please post the address(es) and name(s) of the people at Infiniti where you sent your letter. I might need to do the same since the dealer has no solutions for my car and they are giving me the run around.
Is it true or is it my imagination??
Thanks!
Or would you really have to separately go wash the wheels by hand separately?
BTW, I just traded my 2003 530i for a 2006 M35. With 800 miles on it I know I made the right choice. Great car.
I have a 2005 Sedan RWD automatic equipped with XM. I just happened to get XM as an additional feature, didn't really want it. Question is, is there a way to program the steering wheel controls so that when I press the "mode" button to toggle through the stereo types (e.g., AM, FM, CD, Sat), that I can "skip" the XM stations since I don't currently subscribe and don't plan on subscribing (for now)?
Thanks in advance!
in the on position, not running the engine and you close the doors, the computer thinks you are now driving and it automatically locks the doors, a safety factor.
dumb, because the computer should be programmed to lock the doors if the engine is running. luckily, I had the sunroof open and I jumped up and unlocked it.
hope that helps.
I always protect the chrome wheels on my Corvette Z06 with a regular application of quality carnauba wax (I use Meguire's)....the wheels are much easier to clean, and here in the far north, it helps protect the wheels from the inherent winter road-salt.
I just brought home my wife's 2005 Infiniti Sport Coupe a few days ago, and I plan to apply the same wax on those great 19" split-spoke wheels. That's my take.
I just went through my 2nd sets of Pilot tires, my 03 coupe is just over 34,000 miles. I have alignment done once per year by the tire shop. How did you get those big shot executive to pay for your tires and alignment? Could you share with us a little more information on how do I go about to get this problem fix? Thanks in advance for your information.
p.s. got a set of 18" Cooper Zeon on it now, a little soft but for the money I think these are excellent tires. (had about 200 miles on the tires)
I just bought an 04 g35x and installed a child safety seat in he center position using the LATCH connectors. While looking through the car's manual, I read that you should NOT put a seat in the center position.
This was a warning box and it was right under a picture of the coupe. The coupe's backseat looks like it has a hump in the center that would prevent the installation. I am just wondering if that warning applies only to the coupe? There was nothing other than the position of the warning that would seem to limit it to the coupe.
I had no problem installing the seat (rear-facing infant seat), but I am concerned about this warning. As I understand it, the center position is the safest and I would like to keep it there if it is safe for the g35.
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks.
I bring it back and first talk to the manager about it. It's daylight and he can't see how many there are, but he can see them in the shaded garage. He goes into this story about how it just happens from normal washing yada yada. I confirm how MANY there are and it was like that before I got it. He agrees to try to do something.
I go in to the service manager, he comes out, sees it right away and appears concerned. Says "I wouldn't buff that car, but I'll have to do what I'm told". I asked him what he would do if his brand new car off the truck was like that and he basically didn't respond.
At this point I'm basically wondering whether I push for another car if they can't fix it or go for something free like service for a year or two. The manager said something could be worked out regardless.
Next day they bring it to another place that specializes more than they do in body work. At 11 today I get a call back saying they said "all cars are like that, you just can't see it on metallic models, nothing is wrong".
So my question to you guys: Are they bsing me? How can the salesman, the guy in charge that first night and the service shop manager show concern - then the response come back as "nothing's wrong"? Does your car have it? They said Red and Black show it a lot. You can best see it in a dark room with florescent lights. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
It was not and when I brought it back they told me that they had never had to replace the sensor and i was wrong...
I went to another Infiniti dealership and they replaced it. No longer a problem...
Had the tire pressure monitor light up... had a flat on in the rear passenger tire. Changed out flat with full size spare. Light went out.
Last week the tire pressure monitor light up... had a flat on the rear driver tire Changed out flat with full size spare. The light is still on after a week. Dealer claiming spare tire's sensor isnt setup with the monitoring system, therefore the light is on... what kind of BS is that?
Dealer claiming the monitoring system needs a reset and will cost $90.
No wonder Infiniti has a hard time selling cars.
Love my car, dealer SUX.
When I park my new M in the garage I listen to the car cooling down. I concentrated on the exhaust manifold where it connects to the exhaust pipe underneath the rear of the engine. As the car is cooling I hear alot of small crackling sounds from there (maybe metal cooling and contracting) but after 3-4 minutes I usually hear a clanging sound - kind of like a small chuch bell chime. Wait another 4-5 minutes and I hear it again. Sometimes I hear it a third time.
I know this isn't normal - just wondering if any members of this forum have any ideas as to what is making the sound.
Thanks
No, I can't say I've had that problem on my 05 G35x (2600 mi.) I did however nitice the creaking problem near the driver's side door vent/door jam area. Heard it last week while hitting certain bumps. Haven't noticed it lately but it drove me nuts that one day.
I have a 2005 G35x sedan, which I love. It has about 1000 miles on it. I have noticed however, that there is a slight creaking/clicking noise, which lasts for about 1-2 seconds, when the car is accelerating past about 10 miles per hour.
The noise only occurs when the car is cold, and seems to come from the dashboard / floor area. Since the AWD system in the G35x is supposed to switch from 25/75 torque split to 100% RWD at about 12 mph, I suspect the noise is related to the electro-magnetic clutch action. Again, it only occurs once, when the car is first accelerating from a cold start.
Has anyone else heard this? If so, any opinion as to my theory? Has anyone mentioned it to their dealer?
Many thanks in advance for your input.
Shmoopy :confuse:
That is generally correct. The LATCH system must be used in pairs - the left latch and right latch of the same set must be used so that if the car stops short, the pressure is applied to the latch set as it was intended (and tested).
I don't have a G35, but most cars don't have a set of latches for the center rear seat. What you've probably done is used the left latch of the passenger-side latch set and the right latch of the driver's-side latch set. This is a "no-no" b/c pressure will be applied to each latch set unevenly and it's not tested for this (DISCLAIMER - I don't know physics or anything, but this is how it was explained to me).
The quick way to tell if you have a latch set for your rear-center position is to count the latches. If you have 4, you only have them for behind the driver and passenger. If you have 6, you have a middle set for the center.
Remember, the LATCH system just makes it easier to install correctly. If you won't be removing the carseat often, there's nothing wrong with using the seatbelt to install the seat. Of course, if the center belt has a shoulder strap, they are more difficult to do correctly.
I have an '03 Coupe AT w/ Premium Package, Wheel Package (18" wheels), and Navigation system. And I too have the same irritating wind noise problem. It seem to be coming from my left shoulder. I check the door seal, and everything seems to be snuggly fit. The noise seem to start when the speed gets higher then 40 mph.
Anyone else have this problem also? Where you able to fix it?
Anyways, the problem I am encounter is a wind noise problem when my car goes faster then 40mph. You can hear a loud wind noise (like when you crack your driver window a little to let in some air) on your left shoulder.
This noise gets louder as I driver faster, its so irritating. The noise is like a chinese torture chamber. Its just a constant hissing sound... I eventually have to turn on the Radio to 10 in order to drown out the noise.
Has anyone else experience this problem? If so, how did you fix it? Greatly appreciate a response.
