i got a whopping 8K out of my rear tires. Best recommend is a 400 tread factor in the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Not quite as sticky, but will yield a few more miles and still create a respectable fun factor for driving.
not the pilot sports but the sport A/S
220 sticky tread wear life vs. a 400 tread wear factor. still gonna cost about a grand for four in 18" though.
By the way, regarding treadwear indexes (e.g. 220, 400), these numbers are set by the tire manufacturer and are not independently tested or verified, so take them with a grain of salt. Best source of data is probably the Tire Rack surveys.
i thought my previous post was in recognition of 18" wheels/tires, which are a little harder to find for snow driving conditions even here locally. 17ings are a little more common.
i too, agree with the findings from the tire rack forums.
not trying to pass on bad advice, but rather share real time experiences. $1400-$2000 is about the right price for a "beater" here in my neck of the woods that would typically last about 2 years. it's all personal preference.
one other factor and the most important to me:
it may not be the ability of you and your shiny new machine on winter roads, but rather the inability of the other guy..........we see that ALL the time here.
when the car is not moving the RPM does not read zero. it reads a little above it
is this normal?
Yes, it's normal; it's the engine speed (which is idling), not the speed of the car (wheels). It should only be zero when the engine's not running.
Has any one else had this problem? The banging has a slight metallic sound to it, I have gone under my car and made sure the exhaust was not loose, so it is defently not that.
Thank you.

I think it's #03007 on there, but you can't click to view the document on that one....
I have '03 G35 sedan and need to replace the front windshield. After finding out the OEM part from Infiniti will cost me more than $900 (incld installation), I decided to go for the aftermarket part. However, I found a big difference in price after calling around few places from yellowpage. The price including installation runs from $200 to $399. They all say that their glasses are made to OEM standard. Does anyone have a good autoglass shop to recommand in Washington D.C. Metro (Virginia) area? Is there any brand of aftermarket glass made to Infiniti's OEM specification? Thank you in advance.

I'll probably invest in a good jack and air wrench so I can change my own pads when the warranty is up.
It's personal preference, of course, but I needed a bit more trunk space and room, and it saved a couple grand. So, I bought a 6MT sedan. Black is too hard for a slacker like me to keep clean, so I went with the ivory pearl, or whatever they call the off-white color.
Other than that, I see no reason not to pull the trigger. Sorry I couldn't 'help'.
Check the prices paid and buying experience forum for what I did in getting a good price. Start with post 1948. It refers to a couple of other posts that describe what I did to get a good price.
Good luck!
20 highway
total bs....Infiniti is beginning to feel the heat from these awful
mpg G35's & the AWD is worse...I live in a strict lemon law state
and Infiniti is gonna "eat" my car....& I'm done with them...beware!
can u say Lexus SUV hybrid ???
One day I was driving along a level road where I could put the cruise control on about 65, although I usually drive faster than that. I reset the mpg indicator on my computer and drove several miles. I did have to stop for a couple of stoplights, but some of the time, the cumulative mpg showed as being over 30 mpg, and at the end of it all, about ten miles of driving, it showed over 28 mpg, and that was with a couple of stops at stoplights.
Maybe it's the automatic that's sucking up gas, or maybe you're driving MUCH differently than I.
