They replaced the ACTUATOR AASY-FUEL L-78850-AL500. This was done under warranty this past April.

You should be able to be reimbursed for this if you had to pay for the service. The letter allowed for reimbursement.

All worked out for me in the end. I partially paid for the first brake service I received, then I received the letter. I received a prompt refund.
G35x
Lexus IS250, and
Chrysler 300 (I'm a DC employee)
After several test drives in numerous cars and comparing the values (options vs. prices) of each, I went with the G35 ... by a large margin. For me at this stage in my life, the G35 breathes excitement. The others (Acura TL, and Avalon included) just felt like I was floating too much and too far removed from the road and my car. The G35 sounds and feels great without being harsh. This is how I imagined Porsche drivers always felt, although I was only in one once in my life for a quick spin.
Anyways, I have one question. The plastic over the CD player display looks cloudy to me, almost like there's still a plastic protective film on it. I've looked at the edges and don't see where I can peel this off without being too aggresive and really making a mess out of it. Has anyone also observed this and is there a way to peel of the protective film?
Thanks,
Scott
I just dont want to report the dealer. because if i do so, they might try to fix it by taking out the transmission, open it and so. In my opinion when the transmission is opened, some problems might occur in the future. so it is better to get used to it unless it is not a serious problem.
I just found this board tonight, looking specifically to talk about this. I purchased my 2005 G35 in July. For 3 months I didn't hear the noise and then it started about a month ago. I took it in, and was told it was normal adjustment ... just like you said.
How does something not happen for 3 months and then suddenly starts happening all the time be normal?
But ... sometimes it is faint and other times like today it is really loud.
It sounds like someone is taking a wooden handle down an old wash board. And, sometimes I can feel it in the brake pedal.
It happens not just with reverse, but every time I turn my car off and then put it in drive. I used to think it had something to do with reverse but now realize it happens only after first being in drive after the car has been off.
I am so NOT happy about this, and certaintly wouldn't have bought the car had I known this was going to be 'normal'.
I just can't believe the noise I hear (and sometimes feel) is normal.
This can't be just an ABS thing. My last 2 cars also had ABS. My husband's last 2 car's had ABS. None of these ABS containing cars make this noise.
Any suggestions?
Does this happen on all G35's or just us lucky people?
The thought of living with this 'normal' noise for the next 5-7 years is going to kill me!!
Yikes ... I guess this turned into a little more than just a question ... but I feel better. Thanks for letting me vent!!!
I have the 2005 G35x but have only had it for 6 days and I've listened for this and haven't heard it yet. I read about this before I bought it so I wanted to observe it to see how loud/intrusive it is, but I don't hear it. If it is a self-test that performs everytime how come I can't hear or observe it? Perhaps there's something wrong if I don't hear it, since it sounds like it would be bloody obvious given the description above. Did everyone hear this right away or does it take some time for it to become really noticeable?
Thanks,
Scott

I didn't start hearing the sound until about a month ago, about 3 months after having the car.
That is why I am so irritated.
If it is normal, why did it not happen for 3 months?
I have several friends who have earlier G35's, and none of them have the noise.
To the note about safety, other than this, I love my car and have no doubt about it's safety. I like to think I am a logical person, and when something doesn't make a noise and then starts, something had to have changed, and if there are other G35's out there that where it isn't noticeable, why isn't my car that way? Why is the check on some cars really loud and noticeable and on others it isn't?
And, I've had other cars with ABS before. What is so special about Infiniti ABS that it makes the noise but none of my other ABS cars did?
The inconsistencies just don't make sense to me ...
Oh well ... I guess I'll just make sure the radio is blasting each time I first put it in drive
I quickly checked the site but nothing obvious turned up. There is some talk about AC causing a noise, but I think it has to do with a constant noise. However, this got me to thinking that there may have been one thing that may have changed for you recently. Not sure what part of the country you're from (I know in these parts it has gotten cooler), but have you stopped using your AC and started using the heater now due to cooler weather? It's likely nothing but something to look into.
Life is full of worries and this shouldn't be one of them...
Anyone else have this problem with an '05? :confuse: ">
There has been some burning, body-odor like smells emitting from the AC outlet under the Arm rest since first day of delivery.
Initially, this body-odor smell was emitting form the A/C outlets inside the car. However, the pungent smell is now only localized in the AC outlet under the Arm rest.
I took it back to the dealeship twice. However, they kept telling me that it was moisture problem with the A/C, and it was normal. The only thing the dealership has done was replacing a carbon filter on my second visit after expressing my disappointment and frustation.
Certainly, the carbon filter does not help the odor problem. This disgusting odor problem get worse after using the AC heater.
Have anyone experience a similar problem? I e-mailed Infiniti Corporation, but there was no response. Any suggestion?
Thanks
To my ear, the sound is probably coming from one of several rubber bushings used in front suspension assembly. The bushings are visible if one turns wheels to a max angle, and then peaks (with the flush light) into opening between the wheel and the fender.
I also was able to reproduce this sound rocking car in my garage side-to-side by opening driver door and pushing against the side of the roof.
It is possibly not a serious issue, but very irritating, given that the car is 10 month old and has 15,000 miles on odometer. The last time I experienced similar noise was with my 10 years old Altima which had 170,000+ miles on odometer.
I will try to bring car to dealer, but it is not my first priority. Gil20, could you post results of your visit to dealer if it happens prior to mine? I will also post after seeing the dealer.

Of course, Infiniti's position on this is the same as it was on the 2003 and 2004. It's my driving.
However, the brakes were supposedly checked at 8801 miles and had the full 10 mm and at 11,200 they had 4mm.
So either they weren't checked at 8801 or I completely changed the way I have been driving for 32 years in the last 2200 miles.
Any thoughts?
