I just bought my MDX from Precision Acura! I lived through the same thought processes as most on the forum and did receive a lower quote from Springfield as well. I guess it was too good to be true because when I went there I was hit with a $399 Doc Fee and then they tried to charge me Destination on top of the quote when I had discussed that with their "Internet" guy who turned out to be just a typical salesperson. Elite was closer to my home but after finding out the people doing the quotes are located in Boston I ran as fast as I could to Precision Acura of Princeton and they gave me everything they promised and had me driving home in my new MDX within two hours. They were the best dealer of them all! :)

    Congratulations on your new MDX!!!
How much did you pay ? What are the packages?
Are the dealers ready to go down the price they gave us in the email? By how much?
How much off of MSRP did you receive?\
    Sorry for lot of questions..

That article was from Automobile Magazine, but it's really an old article that just seems to show up as a recent one when people do searches. Acura has decided not to do a diesel here for the time being since acceptance on Audi/MB/BMW versions have been less than stellar and the cost increase on it would be hard for them to market it effectively given the price increase and fact that diesel is so much higher in the US over gas that it costs more to operate a diesel in the US in most cases (even considering the fuel economy increase). No changes for 2011 except the Bali Blue color can now be ordered on the Advance Package models.

I want to be ready to pull the trigger as soon as an incentive on 2010's becomes available while there are still a lot of 2010's to choose from.

The best prices I have seen thus far on a 2010 base model MDX is $39,000 including all fees other than TTL.

Therefore, assuming (big assumption) that a $1k or $2k incentive comes out a good target price would be $37k or $38k.

Any opinions on whether $37k or $38k with a $2k or $1k incentive is about the lowest target price I could hope for?

Where did you find 39K for the base? The dealer gave me about $43K for the base in NJ. Also, when do you think we might expect these rebates? The current APR of 0.9% is good till September 7th.
  • rabbijmarabbijma Member Posts: 4
I'm in Utah waiting to buy. I'm at $43,800 for MDX w/tech excluding TTL. I actually don't want to go higher than $43K

Very unclear that there will be cash incentives; not sure why...the only car in the country w/o incentives seems to be the MDX. If there is cash, it's either Labor Day or Sept 8 when current 1.9% finance ends
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
The dealer quoted me $42,768 for MDX + tech package here in NJ. So may be there is some room for you to negotiate.
  • leexleex Member Posts: 7
North NJ dealer quoted me for 2010 tech package

    41588
    860 dest
    3141 tax
    399 mv
    298 dov
    7 tire tx
    total 46,239 out the door
is this a good deal? or maybe I can cut it more ?
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
There is this discussion going on if Acura gives a cash rebate like it did last year. I think they gave about 3K rebate. Not sure if they give this year as the model hasn't changed but keep guessing..
  • splitwindowvetsplitwindowvet Member Posts: 13
It's not likely there will be quite as high of a rebate this year since most dealers are not sitting on tons of them and they are not undergoing a refresh like they were for 2010 that made moving the "old" 2009 more of a priority. We just bought a 2010 Advance with Entertainment (MSRP of $54615) for $50000 even (to the penny) out the door, including sales tax, new tag fee, doc, destination, etc. . My feeling was the 2011 showing a $500 or so increase on the MSRP for that model, plus the odds that they would not want to negotiate as much on a 2011 made it the better deal.
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
    leex,
Can you let me know who this North NJ dealer is?

    Thanks!
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
Wow. That is really a great deal for the advance package + RES. I was given about 48K for the Tech + RES in NJ. Where is your dealer located? in NJ?
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
5K below MSRP. Is this a good deal on 2010?
  • leexleex Member Posts: 7
    Springfield Acura :surprise:

Sorry, not in NJ, I live down South. (where is a redneck emoticon when you need one) :confuse:
  • jpickjpick Member Posts: 15
What dealer did you buy from? I am in GA looking for a Tech/Ent.
  • hellousahellousa Member Posts: 6
    Hi splitwindowvet,

Latest I heard is that Acura has offered cash incentives on the 2010 RL and ZDX. Not sure of the amount on the RL, but the ZDX was $2,500. Nothing on the MDX yet, but it is a good sign that incentives are starting to come out on the 2010's.

I believe the MDX and TL are the better sellers, so it's not a surprise that the first incentives were for the slower moving RL and ZDX.

I would pull the trigger immediately with a $2,500 incentive on an MDX!!!

Bradshaw Acura- See Wayne Butler (internet sales manager). He was SUPER nice and made us feel like family. Low pressure, but attentive. The BMW dealer here should be so lucky to have a guy or gal like him working for them. He has been there for 15-20 years I think, and so has the sales manager JJ Jordal. That says something for them too.

Finally pulled the trigger on this pup. Got the above mentioned for $42,800 including running boards and roof rail installed. 60 month financing @ 1.9% ended up paying $46,300 including fees taxes and what have you...Love this car! Hope this helps.

I test drove this 2010 MDX today. Is it me or the steering wheel feel is really loose?

My 05 CR-V has a better steering wheel feel. Tighter..
  • dvricedvrice Member Posts: 75
It is you. The MDX has excellent handling. Maybe you've got one hell of a CRV.

  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
I think the advance package probably comes with a tighter steering wheel.

Just got offered 45390 on the 201 Tech/Ent . Is this a good price . Total out the door cost was 47.137.66 . This was in Pohanka VA . Is this a good price , have others gotten this for any lower. Are there any other things I need to look out for when i do go to the dealership that they may hit me with .

I would appreciate any help from any of you that have been through this before.

    Thanks,

I posted the dealer info in an earlier post, but the details are Black/Umber Advance with Entertainment, bone stock (no accessories, although they did take me down to the service dept and threw as many hats, keychains, mugs, etc. at me as I would take. The details on the deal were this: I gave them exactly $50000 (to the penny) and I got a bill of sale and a new car. I could care less if they sold it to me for $45000.00 and then charged $5000.00 for doc and delivery fees, or charge me $50000.00 for the car and gave me the tag, taxes, prep, etc. for free. I never understood why that matters to people myself. The bottom line is $50000.00.
On the accessories, my feeling was that I could buy any accessories for a good bit less than the sales dept wanted through their parts dept. or online. As an example, they put the rubber mats and wheel locks on them as a "protection package" (I do not think it even included the cargo area mat) for $550.00. I can buy those same items for $137.00 from an online acura dealer. I am going to add the body side moldings, trifold cargo mat, and roof rails. I am buying the black rails and having them powdercoated and clearcoated to match the interior door handle color (the opening handles, not the metallic plastic trim that is on the pull handles). I can't believe how much they want for the silver painted rails. Truly a rip off. I may also spring for the wood shifter and steering wheel.

As a costco member I got offered 44,865 tech w/ent + taxes (1500) + tags (500) ~ 47K. No additional accessories. This was at pohanka

Let me knw, if any got any better price?
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
In NJ, I was offered 43.8 for the tech + ent. I rejected it as another dealer quoted me 44.3K for a 2011 MDX. The 2010's already depreciated. I will just wait another 2 - 3 weeks and get a 2011. I tried to bring the cost to around 2K less than the 2011 quote on a 2010 but the dealer was not ready. So, it doesn't make sens for me to get a 2010 one for $500 less than the 2011. Although the dealer said the new 2011's might not be offered the 0.9%/1.9% APR's until about November.

I've been stalking this thread for a while and it seems you have a great deal. What city did you buy your MDX in?
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
Well. That was just an eQuote as the 2011's are not in any dealership as of now. They will start to roll in like second week of September. This dealer in New Jersey said he is sold out on all 2010's and is giving quotes on the 2011's. None of the other dealers I talked to who has the 2010's in their lot are ready to give a quote on a 2011.

Yes. 44K with Tech and Entertainment on a 2011 is a really sweet deal. Again, the only catch, you may not get good interest rate. I mean you will still get around 3 - 4% but not the 1% - 2% that the current 2010's have.

    Hope that helps.
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
BTW, the dealer is Acura of Denville in NJ. The ePrice quote is $44500 for Tech + Entertainment of a 2011 MDX.
  • kindakinkskindakinks Member Posts: 10
My guy Thomas Thornton at Precision Acura said that their ePrice on a 2010 Acura MDX Tech/Ent is $44491 including destination!
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
Yes. That is correct but check that email from him. It says "Please Remember All Our ePrices Include Destination" in Bold Red for "Include Destination" that means about 43.6 if you exclude destination of about $810.

I don't think there will be much depreciation between a 2010 and 2011 if there are little changes between models.
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
Open road Acura for the 2010 and Acura of Denville for the 2011.

I am in the Chicagoland area and starting to shop the 2010 MDX advance. What prices are you local guys seeing? Anyone able to get their dealership to dive into their hold back?
  • vcoloradovcolorado Member Posts: 3
Prices I'm getting quoted in Colorado seem higher than what people are posting here. Is this because regional incentives are different? What prices are people getting for MDX/Tech?
  • rabbijmarabbijma Member Posts: 4
I'm in Utah. I'm at $43,800 for MDX w/tech, rubber mats, tri fold cargo liner, wheel locks, oil change for life but excluding TTL. What are you at?
  • vcoloradovcolorado Member Posts: 3
I'm getting offers for 44.5K to 45K in Denver for MDX/Tech, including destination and D&H, but not including TTL.
  • fitzramfitzram Member Posts: 41
Here in New York I got an MDX w/tech and roof rails for $42,819 including dest. Made the deal 1 month ago.
  • drmike101drmike101 Member Posts: 20
    Hello Guys,
I am planing to buy the MDX base so far i have got the lowest quote for 39,400+ TTL( taxes alone are 9.75% in California). I like the 1.9% APR now do you think there will be further cash intensive after labor along with the 1.9% APR? a
Any inside information from the dealers will be really appreciated especially in California!

Bought a 2010 Advance in Bronze/Umber at Pohanka, just wanted to share the info since this thread helped ease the negotiations.

    MSRP - $52,715
Sale Price - $47,500 (inc. Destination)
    Proc. Fee - $399
    Total = $47,899 + TTL

I also had a trade (2006 TL) for which I asked & received KBB "Good" trade-in value, which was fair to both sides. All in all a very smooth & easy transaction, negotiated price before going in via email & they honored the price with no issues. I was actually undecided between the Tech or Advance, so I'd negotiated prices on both -- my price for the Tech would have been $42,000 + $399 processing fee had I chosen it instead. I'm sure I could have easily haggled over another $500 but I was more than happy with the ease of the transaction -- the most stressful part was choosing the color. Good luck all.

It's not you. I just bought a Tech/Ent, and the steering feel is definitely on the light/numb side. If someone has been driving a Camry, he may not feel the difference. But I'm more used to sporty cars, so it will take me a while to adjust to this. As far as handling, I don't see what all the hype is about. The suspension feels pretty soft to me (which gives it a smooth ride). Maybe the Advance model feels totally different, but it's out of my price range.
  • eqt2010eqt2010 Member Posts: 4
I also found that the steering wheel is too light. I can't feel feedback from the road.
  • sjthomassjthomas Member Posts: 61
Yes. Many reviewers are complaining about this:

"Retuned steering feels too light and darty for such a large vehicle, but the MDX’s long wheelbase and hefty curb weight smooth out most bumps"
    http://www.thecarconnection.com/review/1034196_2010-acura-mdx

"....but the feedback through the steering wheel is anesthetized"
    http://www.autoblog.com/2010/08/10/2010-acura-mdx-review-road-test/

May be the advance package has a tighter steering wheel. Again, if I am getting an advance package, the whole point of Acura "Value" is lost. I would rather go for an X5 at that point instead of going for an advance.

Advance package users, any feedback regarding the steering feel is really appreciated...

I've always had a 4WD vehicle since 1986 when I moved into the northern suburbs of NYC, and the MDX has changed my SUV expectations. Picked up my 1st one in '07 and traded it in for a '10 last month. The '10 handles and 'feels' very much like the '07 (except newer) which for me is a good thing. I love it. I'm not sure what the knock is on the steering. To me it seems well matched to the vehicle. And the handling is the closest to a sedan of any SUV I've driven. In all fairness I should say that the MDX was my 1st 'luxury' class SUV, so I can't say firsthand how it stacks up against the Lexus, Infinity, BMW, etc. But I think Consumer Reports has consistently given the MDX better marks than the competitors.

If you're coming from a sports car to an SUV there's going to be an adjustment for sure. But you can't compare the two...they're different animals.
  • chicagomdx1chicagomdx1 Member Posts: 4
I'm not sure why you think the 'value' of Acura is lost by purchasing an Advance model. To match the Advance model features on an X5 you would need to spend a minimum of $15k more than the MDX Advance cost.
  • sladaslada Member Posts: 1
thank you to the forum for some valuable information- just bought a base model palladium with ebony interior and love it. fwiw paid 39200 plus TTL and got an amazing 700 trade in value for my '93 mazda protege with >200k miles and a bad transmission.

Where in NY did you get the offer? Which dealership? can you advise.
