I'm down in San Diego, but willing to travel. where did you get that $40,400 price and is that including destination charges. Is that for the sport of the tech? Thanks.
I am looking for the same thing, tech +entertainment. The lowest price I have seen in NJ is $44952. I also heard they were selling well but I saw a bunch at a dealer off Route 22 in NJ. Of course they were not parked on the lot, but in a place behind the dealer.
No special financing(typical Honda), gas is $3+, SUV...it would seem that there would be specials all over the place.
About two weeks ago I completed a Tech/Ent in NJ for 42,094 (Plus tax and tags.) That included the wheel locks too. It was quite easy to get the invoice quotes via email and I did not push it to go below invoice. A few offers were over invoice and I told them I wanted invoice, most agreed, some did not.
I added the sport running boards, cargo cover, cargo mat, and rubber floor mats from Curry Acura in Westchester. Great prices and free shipping through May.
Wow...what a great resource these forums are. To date, I started with going to one dealer and bing told there are no discounts for a 2007 Acura MDX/Tech/Entertainment $46,365 as they are "very popular". Soon I got my first internet offer at $43,865. Now, I'm at the same offer as above $42,094 with an offer of doing better if I can pick one "off the lot". I live in South East PA and have asked 10 dealers (via Edmunds) for quotes. This process was very easy with only the interested dealers replying. Thanks to all for your input. I would not have guessed dealers would so easily go so low.
I bought my 2007 mdx tech aberdeen green/parchment on 4/17/07 I live in Orlando, I bought in Jacksonville. I decided on my exact mdx and then I went to emailing! They all went on and on about not discounting... these cars are hot... and in the end I bought my mdx for $40,000 plus $599.00 dealer fee and TTT for an OTD of $43,245.77 on a mdx that had a MSRP of $44,165.00, so someone is lying to you. The dealer I bought from didn't even have my color combo so they had to flatbed it from Miami! And they still were around invoice. I was just in New Jersey with my new MDX and we love it despite a couple of fit and finish concerns that are being taken care of in warrenty. I am originally from NJ and found that open road acura usually has the best price and has two locations so your color choice should be in stock. I almost bought from them because they have great prices, but in the end I got it local(2 hours away). I got prices that spanned from what I paid to $500.00 above MSRP! Be diligent and remember you are the customer and they are in business to serve you! Good Luck! :shades:
I shopped between all the area dealers. I finally took this deal when other dealers refused to beat it by more than a trifling amount and this dealer was giving the best service. I thought invoice for the Sport/Entertainment was higher than $4400, meaning I though I was coming in at about $500 over invoice. Can you tell me where you got the $44000 number?
This forum has been very helpful while car shopping.
I have a couple of questions I was hoping could get answered.
1) Has anyone bought a Certified MDX? How was the experience? Recommended?
2) How much can you negotiate on these cars?
The reason I ask is that I think I can get invoice price on a MDX / Tech for 39,2000. And they are asking 36,000 for a 2005 MDX Tech(with 21,000 miles).
My husband and I purchased a 2007 Black with Parchment MDX with Tech package on Friday from Ed Voyles Acura. BEST sales experience we have had....and we should know...We have been "shopping" around for the last month to replace both our cars, a sedan and a SUV. During our shopping experiences all over northern Atlanta and the suburbs, we experienced an array of pushy and unprofessional sales people...one even told me that my trade-in (2002 Volvo S60) was falling apart---the plastic around the door handle was peeling. (That's how to get a sale done.) We visited several dealerships from Infiniti to Toyota to Nissan and many others. And I must say that Ed Voyles offered the best deal with the best sales experience. While we were at the dealership picking up the car, two different customers in the service department raved about their experience with Ed Voyles and our sales person. For those in Atlanta (or even outside Atlanta), I would highly recommend them along with our sales person. I can't share any names but for those interested check out their website for new car pricing and you will experience the great service I did. A great experience is worth mentioning especially after my terrible experiences from other dealers (who still continue to call me).
Does anyone know of a sales guy in Sunnyvale Acura I can talk to? I got a quote for a Sport/Ent from the Internet guy for Invoice + 2K which I felt was a little too much.
I am very interested in getting perspectives on residual values for the following cars. I play to pay cash and believe the MDX will be a value over a 4+-year horizon typical driving (15K per year). I have seen RV for the MDX falling to 50% levels (36 m), so a bit concerned on my theory. Have no clue of the Veracruz will hold value. Thoughts on what represents a better value?
Veracrux hold value??? Seriouslty....Without any statistics to back me up, I have to believe that the RV on an Acura 36+ is much better than that of a Hyundai. Forget about that, just from a sheer performance comparison, there's no way the Veracruz is in the same league as the MDX. As far as how the MDX's value holds up compared to it's competition (XC 90, X5, Q7, maybe Benz GL) is just as good, if not better. It beats them on the front end for Value for the dollar, and I know is a better vehicle in the long run, from a realibility standpoint than the Q7 and GL. And is it really worth paying an extra 10K+ for the X5 to get the same thing??? I'm not sure how the Veracruz even can be compared. It's not in the same class. Sure, up front may be cheaper, but the fit & finish over the long haul cannot be compared. After 3 Honda products, I say that with utmost confidence.
Hello....Go to Morotworld Acura in Wilkie Berry, I paid $39,800 for MDX/Techno including destination on April 30th.. My on road price was $42,300 something. I am sure it will be another couple hundred less now. Good luck....let me know if I can be of any help
I'm also in Atlanta and looking for 2007 MDX Sport (MSRP $46,265 including Destination). Any deal details would be greatly appreciated. Getting same story that model is hot and not coming off sticker - but then got one initial offer $1500 off MSRP. Post any details and I'll do the same.
Just got off the phone with Acura Carland. I am looking for a base model. The best price he would give is 37890 plus 499 doc fee. This brings the total to 38,089. The price seems okay for Atlanta but not as good as others (especially in the NE) are getting. Anyone in Atlanta doing better?
Well, I ended up at $42,700(excluding tax and tags)for my MDX w/ the NAV/ENT pkg and options: roof rack and side body molding. I got it for dealers invoice and the options at cost. I'm happy with the end result. We took a test ride on Sat; what a SUV. The Nav system is the best I've seen. It blows away other systems Ive seen including the one in the BMW 750.
looks like that is $954 over invoice, not counting "doc fee". what is the doc fee of $499? I've heard that is pretty bogus as cost to cover paperwork is only $50 or so. In any case, that is $2775 less than MSRP, so looks like they will discount and fairly deeply. I did visit carland and they had several base models in less popular colors.
The doc fee does seem bogus. I have a 2006 escalade that I'm selling through autotrader right now so I'm a couple weeks out from buying.
They are getting new base models in all the time so getting the color I want will not be a problem. If push comes to shove, I think I could get them to drop the base from 37,890 to 37,690 but they seem stuck on that 499 doc fee. I could probably get some floor mats thrown in at no cost as well. I may take this price to Ed Voyles to see if they want to beat it by a couple hundred. Roswell Acura does not appear to interested. Let me know if you find a better deal in our area. We just don't seem to be getting the Northeast pricing.
Invoice price for a MDX NAV/ENT is $42,094 w/ dest. charge. The doc fee in the South East PA is only $55.00. I heard in NJ they try to jack it up at times.
Yes it is a little late now. If you check out the price of a used 06 model like the one you have with average miles on kbb.com and nada.com, if you are within 20% or so of the price of the used one you got a good deal.
Check out myhondawarranty.com (sacucci honda). They may be 500 less than the 2500 you paid. (one thing you can do over) Funny that most Honda's are about 1200 for the same thing but thats Acura.
Happy driving --jjf
bought the 2007 Acura MDX base model (aspen white) today for $37400+ $150 for title/registration plus tax. Paid another $2510 for Acura care 8yr/120K extended warranty. The lowest FINANCE APR I was able to get was 5.99% for 60 months.
Here is the breakup- $37400 + PA state tax of $2618 + $150 for title/registration + $2510 for extended warranty- TOTAL $42668.
IS THIS A GOOD DEAL? I guess it is a stupid question to ask since I already bought the vehicle!
I have been shopping for MDX with tech/ent in gray/taupe for the last 2 weeks. Got my car this weekend from Radley Acura in Falls Church, VA for 150 below invoice. They matched the best offer I got and offered fair value for my trade in so negotiations took less than 30 mins. Then I waited 3hrs for them to prep the car.
Here's my reflection on the buying experience: 1) Everyone lies. There is a spectrum of untruthiness from benign neglect to egregious deceit. Know your stuff when you email, talk, or visit the dealer. Auto sales people are about sales, not service. 2) Be patient. The MDX is not a limited edition vehicle so don't let the dealer dictate what you buy in terms of color or trim. There is a lot of "deal what we have" b.s. If they don't like your price, just leave. They'll come begging soon enough.
I ended dealing with Frankel (800 above invoice, will not negotiate, small dealer) and Norris (limited selection) in Baltimore, Rosenthal in D.C., and Pohanka and Radley in VA. If you live far from the dealer, you must pin down details in writing before just showing and expect to wheel and deal. They will definitely lie about inventory, so get the VIN# if you're picky about colors.
I am happy to share details about the dealers above if people care to know. I'll post my $0.02 about the car itself on a the MDX forum.
I have been to a couple of dealers here in Jacksonville. That looks to be a nice price..checking with consumer reports they claim the invoice is (for a tech) 39,883 + 670 destination = 40,553. Did you buy from Arlington or Orange Park ?
I got quotes from the Northeast via online (specifcially New Jersey) Got 37365 for base and 40495 for MDX Tech with destination included. Once I had the quote I then visited local dealers. I live near Roswell and spoke with them first.... they quoted 37800 on base model with destination included. They would not budge. The guy even told me that this was 300 above invoice and that they had to make some money off the car. Nalley Acura was willing to meet any documented offer just had to send it to him --- however, Athens Acura came back with up with the best offer...37319 base and 40517 tech destination included with cargo mats, wheel locks and splash guards. Also, no one is willing to take off doc fee -- try to get some extras thrown in cargo mats, wheel locks.....lowest doc fee I found was at Bradshaw Acura in Greenville, South Carolina at 195.00.
What type of doc fee was Athens and Roswell asking? I will make the short drive to Athens for a 500 redcution in base price. $37,319 is the best base price I have seen in Georgia
I am in search for a 2007 mdx in Houston. I have asked for email offers from 4-5 dealers. Looking for a little advice on how to handle a lease. We currently have a '03 mdx that is coming due next month. We really like the '07 mdx and want to keep with acura. The '03 is in decent shape and shouldn't need any major reparis. My question is this: Is the fact that we have an MDX already a good barganing chip? I worry that they may try to play one against the other. Meaning, they may discount on the new car but try to hit us for reparis on the lease return or play hardball on price and let us skate for minor repairs on the return. Just wondering if anyone has gone through a similar respons. Also, the first offer I've received in 42,165 for the tech package. Seems a little high compared to what I've seen on this forum.
I am looking to purchase MDX tech/ent. in Southern Cal.(LA/OC).Best quote I have is $43,500 include. dest. & protection pkg 1.I would likt to see more posting from So. Cal people.
I had an offer from South Coast Acura for a Sport/Ent with body side molding, sport running boards for $46,900 plus tax and license. Price seems to be high compared with deals in East Coast, this was the best offer in OC. I may wait a little while for the prices to near invoice.
I have quotes from 5 dealerships in this area. None are below $44K. Reading this board it would seem that I could get this card for around 42K, but this has not been my experience, not even close when you add Honda has not special interest financing. I have been in person to 3 dealerships. No call backs either.
Any hints/ideas how I can drive this number down. What are other folks experiences? Is this a deal I need to close on a rainy day when there is low dealership volume? LOL.
I think large volume dealers are more willing to negotiate. I would look within 2-3 hr radius and save yourself a few thousand bucks. If driving 4 hrs roundtrip is not worth 2k in savings, then you have answered your dilemma.
Bostik, I picked up my 2007 Acura MDX with Technology package that included Navigation in Billet Silver color last Saturday. I shopped around for about 2 weeks before I chose the dealership I was going to buy it. I am in NY and have sent quote requests to every dealership in New York and New Jersey. New York dealerships are all ripoffs because they know there are plenty of fat cats that will come in and shell out an extra couple of grand. The new Jersey dealerships are more remote and offer much better deals. I narrowed down to DCH Acura in Montclair and ROute 22 Acura. I picked up my MDX w/tech,nav for $40,104 (which is basically Invoice)not counting NY state tax. This did include the $670 destination charge in the price. I only added the roof rails and protection package for a total of $40,747. DCH was close but did charge a destination charge so I passed on their deal. I think this is the best deal in th NY/NJ area. Let me know if you have any questions. Vlad
Protection package includes wheel locks(wheel theft prevention), as well as the cargo cover for the back and all season mats. I think its definitely worth it, given you are getting original Acura stuff
Vlad, That's interesting because those were my 1st two stops since they are closet to me. Rt22 offered $43900 and DCH Acura offered 45 as the "Memorial Day" special and undervalued my trade. If I got that your deal from either + the entertainment package I would have bought on the spot.
jackbarron - check my reply to your post in the TSX lease forum. (I'm posting here in case you never get back to the TSX forum, since you probably didn't mean to post your MDX lease question there!)
I do not think his quotes included the Entertainment package, which is a factor is the price difference between the price they quoted you and the price he/she was quoted. Is this not correct?
best price available in LA for 07 MDX tech Tech & Ent, MSRP -list $46365.00 is $42504 and for 07 MDX, with Sport, Tech, and Ent, list $48465.00 is offered to $44495.00 Hope this helps.
Bostik, I picked up the MDX w/Tech package, Entertainment was not included. Entertainment will cost you more, and was really not important to me. SO Tech was quoted at $40,104. Were you looking for Tech with Entertainment as well or Tech with Protection package(wheel locks, all season mats and cargo cover)?
Sport or Tech? If Sport, you got for $446 under invoice? We are not seeing anything at, much less, under invoice here in the South. Did that $43.5K include a doc fee? If not, how much was that?
Comments
I've gathered quotes from abt 10-12 dealers in Delaware,PA and NJ.
I'm looking for a MDX with sports and entertainment.
The invoice price according to Edmunds is $43996
But the lowest quote I've received is $45095. They are no add-ons in these vehicles.
No one is willing to go below that. They are like bring me a written quote from other dealer, and I will give you at that price.
This is my first car buying experience. I keep reading posts from other people buying at invoice price. So how do I negotiate?
If anyone in the tristate area has gotten a good deal, please let me know the dealership name and city. I would really really appreciate it.
Thanks
No special financing(typical Honda), gas is $3+, SUV...it would seem that there would be specials all over the place.
I added the sport running boards, cargo cover, cargo mat, and rubber floor mats from Curry Acura in Westchester. Great prices and free shipping through May.
Good luck.
I will post again with the final deal....
Thanks!

2007 Hyundai Veracruz Limited - $34K

I am planning on buying around july/August, defintily before labor day

Any idea on the dealer cost on an extended warranty.
Thanks.

What gives?
For MDX/Tech was quoted $40600.00
Hope this helps!

I picked up the MDX w/Tech package, Entertainment was not included. Entertainment will cost you more, and was really not important to me. SO Tech was quoted at $40,104.
