youralien wrote "scratches don't look too deep, but are 'silver colored'". That implies that the scratches are deep enough that grey primer below the blue paint is exposed. If that is the case, compounding, waxing & buffing would not be a viable alternative.

A few extended test drives is the best way to decide. I drove a civic coupe too. Not bad but the ride and speed doesn't compare to the EXL Coupe with MT.
Thank you very much... the "Bat Mobile" really is my baby

How soon after you bought your Accord did you install the K&N air filter?
TIA!

The Borla exhaust fit perfect and gives a very very nice sound on take-off and WOT. However, it is not intrusive at all cruis'n on the highway
I has some HIDs ordered through 7th generation group buy for $315, but it fell through. I found another place to order for about $450, but have never ordered. The installation didn't look too bad. Amazing on the Accord Coupe on left you take out the fender wheel cowling and the air feed to install a low beam headlight :confuse:

Thanks for the quick response
Another question ... Taking into consideration it was only a week for the air filter swap, how much of a difference would you say you noticed in gas mileage and performance?
TIA, again!

Don't know about the performance before and haven't really timed the 0-60 mph time. I had a 98 M3 5-speed sedan with different exhaust. Accord is pleasingly close to the M3 in performance (acceleration). I think the estimates for the 6-speed Accord are 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds and the M3 was rated at 5.6 seconds; maybe I got a .3 improvement. maybe not. I also have a 5-speed 2002 Lexus IS300; Accord is much faster in acceleration. The 5-speed Lexus is rated at 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds.
Handling Accord is good, IS300 is better and the M3 was much better. I probably won't do anything about the handling though.
To be honest, the K&N Air Filter may not have added that much horsepower. I did put a cold air intake and Cat back exhaust on a 95 Acura Integra GSR and it made a noticable difference.
Good Luck and enjoy your car.

I have a 2005 ex coupe, I'm looking to install bright whites headlight bulbs, what brend it's the best for this car? It's very difficult for me to find one that fits, so if you have the model # and make that would be great.
Thank-you in advance
I installed Sylvania Super Whites and iIam very pleased. I also have fog lights and with both on, the fogs look very Yellow. The only downside, if you read forums, is that the bulbs only last about 6 months.
If you really want some bright lights install true xexon HID lights see this link for an example. http://www.xenonfactory.com/
You will find out when you change headlight bulbs that you have to go in through the front wheel cowling from the wheel well. On the left side you also have to remove the engine air intake. Not a big deal, but not as easy as most cars.

They look very good and fit well into the front openings. However, the light they put out and their true fog ability is only marginal. If you really want fog lights, they make very bright Xexon fog lights.
You could probably go to an auto store and get aftermarket fog lights installed much less. Or if you want an adventure go to H & A accesories and buy your own OEM fogs for $ 238.00 and install them yourself. I say adventure becuse even though it sounds simple, installing fog lights involves quite a bit of ingenuity and labor; there are good , detailed , easy to follow instructions.
Fog -on :surprise:

What strikes a new Civic-to-Accord driver is the latter's quietness and an overall sense of higher quality. What remains the same is the sure-footedness on the road, something that's not present in the Toyotas and Nissans I've owned regardless of size.
Since you're shopping, you're bound to compare the Accord coupe with other similar options, which I did at the time. The Accord's interior and exterior were - to me - of more sound design than the Solara's, whose more pampering ride wasn't enough. Against the G35, the Accord fit my budget and had a better interior for the price. The RX-8 was compelling because of its originality and affordability but its reliability was suspect (mostly because of the rotary engine), so I didn't go with that one.
A somewhat "grey" choice is the Acura RSX because it can be a hands-down decision for a younger person but not for a middle-ager like me.
Pre-owned options within a new Accord coupe's price range are a BMW 323/325 or 328/330ci (classic design, but road noise and overall comfort are similar to a Civic's - had a 323 for a year), or a MB CLK (old school steering and dated interior).
All told, if you're looking for a comfort/performance/reliability balance, the Accord 4 or 6 cylinder coupe wins. If performance and handling are more important, a new RSX or pre-owned 325ci fits the bill best imo.
Hope this helps.

I'm going to be blunt ... based on the comment of the loud clicking noise and your boyfriend saying "its the motor" ... sounds to me like you and your boyfriend don't know very much about cars and you are someone that NEEDS to take it to a professional mechanic and have it checked out. so just go ahead and do it before it gets worse.

different noise that he identified as the pcv valve ticking to take unburn gases from the motor and route it back into the intake manifold. He doesnt know everything about cars but knows a fair amount and cant solve everything. He needs to ride around in my car more so he can hear some of the new noise that the car is making.
The only lifters I adjusted were on an older 4 cyl Accord, which was very easy to do. Hopefully they are as easy on your V6
Good luck on what you decide
quick question, i thinking about this 02 coupe ex, v6 for about 10k. car drives really great and its in amazing condition expcet it has 90k miles on it. since my budget is 10k this seems like a good deal ,so should i get it or should i get a 2000 model with around 60k miles for the same price.
thanks
I was wondering if you guys could tell me if this is a good deal. I got a quote for a 2005 Honda Accord Coupe LX (special edition), Automatic, 2.4l, for 19,500 out the door price. Is that the best deal or can I do better? I am planning on buying the car in the next day or two.
I have a 03 silver ex v6 6spd with nav. i have the AEM V2 cold air intake and 19 konig verdicts with some nitto 555s. I would like to lower the car but i dont want all the hassle of tire wear, and the bounce ride.
Thanks, SDN
Any ideas as to what this could be? The car still runs fine but I'm not taking any chances.
