I got 2015 Rogue SL(FWD) with permium package for $30000 before TAX and TITLE. This includes dealer fee etc. Accessiories include splash guard, floor mat, auto dimming mirror, Chrome Rear Bumper Protector. I feel it was pretty decent deal reading at some of the posts. How did I do?

TMV for an Oregon zip code is $30,086, so you did good - and you got the fees free. Congrats!

    What color?

Thanks. It's pearl white with almond interior. I am in North Carolina. Also dealer gave life time warranty on transmission and engine :)

Looking at 2015 Nissan Rogue SV with premium package, floor mats, and splash guards.
Got a quote for $26,852 excludes tax and fees, MSRP is $28,535. Is this a good deal? I live in the Midwest.

TMV for the AWD one is $27,722 for a UP zip code (don't ask, lol). Invoice is $27,109. So a really good number for the AWD flavor.

If you are looking at the FWD, then your quote is in line with TMV but there's a bit of room to edge down.
  • stockitupstockitup Member Posts: 8
It is a 2015 Rogue SV AWD. The AWD is a must have in the Midwest. OTD is 29,100 including tax and license fees. Still a good deal?

In New Jersey-was quoted $28000 for 2015 AWD Nissan Rogue SV with Premium and Moonroof package. Not included TTL. Thoughts on quote? Thanks

TMV is coming in at $28,161 for a Newark zip code, so your dealer is right in the ballpark. Invoice is $27,979 so if you decide to counter the offer, you could try for a below invoice price. @stockitup's price was less but there was no $1,000 moonroof on his SV.

May as well ask around for some more quotes too if you have time and energy or get a Price Promise certificate and compare your quote to that number.

In other words, you're doing fine, but there may be another $500 or more "extra" money the dealer may be willing to take off.

October was a good month for car sales, but Nissan sales fell slightly from September. Don't know how you can use that info but who knows, maybe Nissan will shove some bonus money to the dealers this month to pump sales up a bit.

Is this a good price in nj 07002 ... 2015 Rogue SL AWD, with auto dim mirror option - $27,125 - plus $400 doc, $300 plate & tax. How much extra should i aim for to get premium package?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454

How much extra should i aim for to get premium package?

The invoice on the Premium Package is $1,747. That would be a good target to aim for (retail is $1,990).

Otherwise your price looks great. TMV is $29,330 and invoice is $29,249. So your quote looks to be ~$2,000 below invoice.

Maybe try for $28,625 for the SL AWD with auto dim and Premium Package, and tell the dealer that number accounts for the doc fee being a bit high. Doesn't hurt to try.

    Good luck!

Ah, TMV is True Market Value. Based on actual sales data (that Edmunds.com collects), TMV is a guide to what other people in your area paid for the same car.

Since that's an "average" your goal is to meet or beat TMV - this is one time you want to be below average.

Good - it's always a big guessing game trying to figure out what the manufacturers are going to do with their incentives from month to month or quarter to quarter. It's hard to beat "free" money.

I'm looking for feedback on a 2015 Nissan Rogue AWD 4dr SL lease deal. I didn't see a 2015 thread, so posting here. Apologizes, if I was mistaken.

2015 Nissan Rogue AWD 4dr SL
    $33, 465 MSRP
    $29, 088 Sale Price
    $595 Bank fee
$879.48 Sales Tax (Plan to pay that upfront)
$302.50 Registration (Estimated, salesperson told me he was not sure of exact cost for NJ New Plates/ 3 years of Registration/ $7.50 Tire Tax)
    $399 Document fee
$895 Gap (Is that expensive for Gap?)
Told monthly payment will be $349
Salesperson said he estimated out the door at $2222.48. Does that seem accurate?
No window etching. No appearance package. No dealer installed accessories.

    Term (36 mon), 15,000 mi
    .00121 MF and 58% residual

Not sure if the $675 Leasing Bonus Cash has been applied to the deal. Figured if it hasn't, it will only mean that my monthly payment will go down a little.

    Thanks in advance,

We'll start at the bottom... If there are any incentives available, you can be sure they are included in your quote..

Nothing looks out of line, though $399 is pretty hefty for a doc fee.. Except, GAP insurance. $895? I didn't realize that NMAC doesn't include GAP insurance in their leases. Before I'd pay that much, I'd keep my $900 in my pocket and take my chances... That's a ridiculous amount.

It looks like either the GAP or the tax is included in the monthly payment... If so, the numbers look decent.. But, ask the dealer straight out. I've always heard that NMAC includes GAP in all their leases. Make sure they aren't selling you something you don't need (and, don't pay that price, either way).

Again.... I'm almost positive that GAP is included.

    Hi kyfdx,
Thank you for your earlier response to my post about the 2015 Rogue SL AWD lease. Dealer #2 said the numbers from dealer #1 don't add up. (You said "Nothing looks out of line," and I know to take what the salesperson said with a grain of salt but still... I tried using the edmunds lease calculator to check on my own, and was not successful.)

One thing that I cannot figure out is how the tax is calculated on a lease in NJ, so I can't figure out how to double check the numbers they are giving me for tax. (The tax law is "explained" here: I don't understand it! http://www.state.nj.us/oag/ca/ocp/autogide.pdf).

You wrote, "$399 is pretty hefty for a doc fee." The doc fees for all the dealers I contacted are in that range (one was $359, 4 others were $399).

Regarding GAP, I think you're right... I told dealer #1 that I would provide my own gap coverage, and that I want that removed from the retail order. Dealer #2 said gap coverage is included and costs $0.

I've been asking for lease price quotes with the tax up front. My thinking is why pay interest on the tax? Do you think it is better to pay the tax upfront or to roll in into the lease?

All of my negotiating has been done over the phone. My intention is to go into the dealership with as many of the numbers nailed down, so keep my confusion to a minimum. I emailed Dealer #1 with the following to at least have the info in writing...

    Dealer #1:
    Term (36 mon), 15,000 mi
    .00121 MF and 58% residual
    no cap cost reduction

    Color:
    Brilliant Silver
    Charcoal Leather
    SL Premium Package

    Accessories:
    Splash Guards (4-piece set)
    Chrome Rear Bumper Protector
Carpeted Floor Mats and Cargo Area Protecto
    Rear Cargo Cover
    Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror

    No dealer installed accessories.

    MSRP: $33465
    Sale Price: $29,088
Sales Tax: $879.48 (Paying Upfront do not roll in)
    Doc fee: $399
    Bank fee: $595
    NJ Registration: Estimated at $300
Monthly payment: $349 (without gap I expect this may be a couple of dollars lower.)
Gap: $895 (I will be declining this.)
Residual: $19409.70 (this is my calculation based on 58%)
Out the door: $2522.48 (my calculation: first month, doc fee, bank fee, registration, NJ lease sales tax.)

Here's a summary of what I've discussed with dealer #2. Would you please run the numbers and tell me what you think.
    Dealer #2:
    Term (36 mon), 15,000 mi
    .00121 MF and 58% residual
    no cap cost reduction

    Color:
    Gun Metallic
    Charcoal Leather
    SL Premium Package

    Accessories:
    Splash Guards (4-piece set)
    Chrome Rear Bumper Protector
Carpeted Floor Mats and Cargo Area Protector
    Rear Cargo Cover

    No dealer installed accessories.

    MSRP: $33,125.00
    Sale Price: $30,700.00
Sales Tax: $1,009.00 (Paying Upfront do not roll in)
    Doc fee: $399
    Bank fee: $595
    NJ Registration: Estimated at $300
    Monthly payment: $349.87
    Gap: $0
Residual: $19212.50 (this is my calculation based on 58%)
Out the door: $2652.87 (my calculation: first month, doc fee, bank fee, registration, NJ lease sales tax.)

We're going to pull the trigger Monday. Thank you in advance for your calculations and advice.

According to your attachment, the state tax rate is applied to the total of the lease payments, and collected by the dealer and paid upfront. Of course, you can alway have the dealer roll that amount into the CAP cost, and it will be included in the monthly payment. (the extra finance charges are minimal).

    So, if you have 36 payments of $350 = $12,600 X 7% = $882.

Any money upfront that doesn't go directly to the government, is also taxed at the same 7% rate. This includes CAP cost reductions, acquisition fees and dealer doc fees.

If every dealer in your state charges $399 for a doc fee, that doesn't make it any more reasonable. In NY, doc fees are restricted to $75 by law. If you are happy with a quoted selling price, but then they add a $400 fee, that would make me $400 less happy.

    Hi,
Pulling the trigger on a 2015 Rogue SL AWD today. Going to lease 36/15. We're in 07040.
    SL Premium Package
    Accessories:
    Splash Guards (4-piece set)
    Chrome Rear Bumper Protector
Carpeted Floor Mats and Cargo Area Protector (vehicles without Family Package)
    Rear Cargo Cover
    Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror

    MSRP: $33465
    Sale Price: $29,088
    The doc fee is $399.
No cap cost reduction. Paying taxes and fees upfront.
Told the payment is going to be $349

What is the TMV for Northern NJ (07040?) Any other words of wisdom or advice?
    Thanks in advance.

I get a little bit different MSRP than you (I probably didn't get your options exactly the same).

Anyway, we show Invoice of $31,388, MSRP of $33,275 and TMV of $31,699.

So your sale price looks really good.

I'd suggest complaining about the $302 ad fee, but it looks like your dealer already buried it.
  • kzybulewkzybulew Member Posts: 41
Thanks for linking to edmunds build and price... I swear I searched the site and didn't land on that page. When I build it I get invoice, $31,541 MSRP: $33,465 and TMV $31,912. We shall see if all is as it appears later today when we go into the dealership to sign. I'll report back on how it goes.

kyfdx, my post got moved to your thread. Sorry to clutter up the place with my questions :-)

Do you have any numbers on the 2015 Rogue SL as far as the current money factor and residual? I know the previous deals expired December 1st, but I wondered if either of those numbers have changed since November. I'm in Texas, zip 75703

For a 19113 zip code, we show invoice of $30,752, MSRP of $32,505 and TMV of $31,050.

TMV is the price to meet or beat so you're really close. You can't do much about the $885 destination that's rolled into the above numbers but Nissan is sticking a $296 ad fee in there. You could tell the dealer that advertising is just a cost of doing business and you aren't interested in paying that (or their light bill).

Or forget haggling the line items and come back with a counteroffer and don't even bother telling them what your reasoning is. You can roll the TTL into your counteroffer and then just you can just focus on your "out the door" price. The bottom line is really all you care about.

It doesn't hurt to get quotes from other dealers either, or check out our Price Promise number.

Just wondering if this is a good price. Seems high to me.  2015 Rogue AWD SL w/premium package for 39 months. Monthly lease payment $429 with zero out of pocket $369 paying fees which seem very high given ales price. Sales price $29,052. Total fees are $2126 includes: $595 acquisition, $449 doc fee, $298 DMV, $784 taxes.  Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    .00132 and 52% for 39/15.

The high MF (3.17%) and relatively low residual are hurting you on the lease numbers.

Hi I I got a deal for Nissan Rogue 2015 AWD SV Model MSRP $30720 down to $27320 with SV premium Package,MoonRoof, splash guard, chrome bumper, fog lights, carpets, auto dimming mirror + destination and handling. I am currently in NJ 08807 area and on road price comes to $29959.

Is this a good deal or I am being ripped off? Please suggest
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
True Market Value is $29,076, but that number includes the $885 destination charge. Add that number to your quote and you're at $28,205 (plus the "handling" fee, whatever that is, and your taxes and registration).

So you're still under TMV and also under invoice of $28,205.

Sounds like a good deal assuming that handling fee isn't a loaded number.

And it sounds like a nice ride!

Just bought a Black/Black 2015 Rogue SL FWD with no packages, just rear bumper guard, mud flaps, wheel locks, pinstripe and tint from Texas Nissan in the DFW area. MSRP was $29,810 plus TTL. Got it for $26,450 plus TTL and financed enough of it to get the 0.0% financing for 36 months.
Seems like a very nice car with the leather and NAV and all the other SL base features for that price.

I just bought a White 2015 Rogue SV AWD with Family and Premium packages, splash guards, Floor Mats and Auto dim inside mirror from WA State area. MSRP was $30,420 plus TTL. White color is extra 395$ but I loved white. Finally settled it for 26,990 + Taxes and got financed for 3 years with 0% interest and down payment. First 2 oil changes free. Is it good deal or I missed. I didn't see the Forum earlier ?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Just comparing your deal with @ricksformula1's deal, I'd say you did just fine.

And yeah, the extra for the white is worth it.

    Congrats to both of you!
  • amitk40amitk40 Member Posts: 2
Thanks. True value of car is showing 27,750 for AWD SV 2015 and I finalized for 26,990 so it looks good and I got white color with family package so there is less room for negotiation.

just purchased in NJ, SL Rogue AWD, premium package, splash guards, rear pumper protector, floor mats with carago protector, plus auto dimm mirror - $29,300 includes $500 rebate. Plus $299 doc fee, so $29,600 before tax and title. MSRP was $33,275.

They offered additional $500 off if i don't take special financing - didn't take it .. but took 3 years 0% financing.

Think it is a reasonable deal - no longer wanted to shop around. I thought current promo was $500 + $500 cashback and 0% for 3 years. But dealer told me i can only take one $500, and chose between another $500 or 0% (so basically take 2 out of 3).

    .00051 MF and 67% for 24mo, 12K/yr. 58% for 36mo, 12K/yr.

    Subtract 1% for 15K/yr.
