    Hi all,

I want to know if Invoice prices are same in all over the country or now ? It appears that California has the best prices for Honda Pilot than rest of the country. Please enlighten me with your replies.

    thanks,

I am looking for a 2007 Pilot and wondering what a good price at this point should be... I am weary because I understand they are redesigning the truck for 2008. Don't want to take a big hit right off the bat!!!! Any input or prices. I am in the Delaware Valley/ Philadelphia region.
Thanks in advance for any useful input! :)

Around which month each year new models shows up at dealer?
  • robcalpolyrobcalpoly Member Posts: 5
I bought my suv from Spirit Honda in El Monte. The way I negotiated was through Internet Sales. What I did is acquire a quote through the Internet Sales department from Honda dealers in Southern California then took the best two quotes and negotiated between the two dealership.

    Hello everyone,

After reading various posts, I got a quote on a 2007 Pilot 4WD EX – Leather for $ 27,868 (including destination) in Metropolitan Detroit area; plus tax, title and plate.

I’m tempted to jump on the opportunity. However, my 1993 Civic EX coupe is still running modestly at 165,500 miles, except for A/C that needs to be replaced and fixed. Daily commute is 60 miles round-trip all highway. Winter is coming to a close and temperatures will rise in a few weeks. The Civic is my first car and very nostalgic to keep it. Please advise.

Good quote, go for it. Ask them OTD $ as well before you finalize any deal. BTW who is the dealer I am also shopping for the same trim.

Read my messages 8451, 8540 8541. The invoice and msrp are the same all over the US however the dealer incentives (advertised or unadvertised ) may vary.

Invoice is irrelevant anyway since other than the first month or two of the model year it has been a speedbump on the Pilot for 3 years.

You want about 6-7k off MSRP.

Did the dealer tell you what the price increase was and when? I've noticed some annoying minor differences in pricing by the car web sites showing a $66 difference at invoice in one case against edmunds, but I'm wondering if it was a much more and occured in Feb/Mar?

While it may not matter in the end, obviously in your deal it made a difference to the dealer that you took a Pilot under the old invoice price --- or at least they made it sound like it was an extra deal and lowered the price even more.

I purchased a 2007 Pilot EX-L 2WD Nimbus Gray on 3/11/07 in the Ventura County area of Southern California

I used the Auto Club buying service and paid $27,449 (+ tax & lic.) for the vehicle at Honda Of Oxnard. This was more than $5,000 under MSRP and seemed like a really fair deal.

I've been reading lots of the posts about what people are paying all over the country for the EX and LX. Sounds like the prices are too good to be true. Are you paying under invoice? I'm in Texas and I know someone in Dallas who only got $3000 off. Sounds like from the posts that others are getting much better deals. Thanks.

Check out my messages 8451 8409 8540 8541 in the Pilot forum. Many people are getting about 5k off without much trouble. (financing or cash) The machine was discounted last summer about $7500 and probably more of the same this year as sales are down lower than last. Try to solicit bids from at least 10 dealers towards the end of the month and see what you can fish out.

I'm considering purchase of a 2007 Pilot 4WD EX-L NAVI model. I checked the price for the updates, looks like they are published once a year, can't tell if by calendar year or model change with some minor updates inbetween. My wife is more interested in the safety of the backup camera, not that it is a replacement for actually looking out the back window or walking around the rear of the vehicle checking for small children (mine) and toys in the way. I lost most of my Tonka toys this way as a kid.

Is it worthwhile? I've never had one. Traveling in Europe last year it was a lifesaver in my rental car to find my way around unfamiliar roads, it was an old school system with audio and crude monochrome lcd graphic display showing mostly turns. Close to home, I'm not sure it's worth it, out of state road trips sure. Thoughts? :confuse:

I live in Northshore of Chicagoland. I am planning to buy a Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD this year. What is best deal I can get here? Is there any incentive now? Where did you get loan preapproval? Thanks.

    Hello from sunny Seattle today.

I am new to this forum - what a fantastic place to get lots of expert advice and information!

I am looking at buying this vehicle in the next two weeks. I have used the automated request for bids at this web site and so far have got two dealer responses back. The best one shown above from Honda of Seattle. The 2nd dealer price was about $1000 more and the sales person told me via email that he cannot beat the lower price.

How does this price look? I thought I saw the same model that someone in SFC got for $23500. I will be paying cash for the vehicle and am not too choosy about color.

Also I got a price of around $1000 to add a tow hitch. My plan is to tow a small camper. Knowing that the towing rating for the Pilot is only 3500 lbs, is this going to work - anyone using a Pilot to tow a trailer?

Any thoughts and advice would be most welcome!
    Thank you,
    Peter.

Pilot buyers. What is going on with the prices of Hondas in the U.S.? All the invoice prices from Kelly and Edmunds have got to be wrong. I was offered a 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD for 28495. in Georgia. The Georgia dealer said this was a no haggle price they offer to all. This is considerably less than invoice from all the reporting companies and Honda says there is no cash back or incentive cash out there. Now I see there are better prices than this out there. Does someone have an explanation for this?
  • jfritschjfritsch Member Posts: 958
Calm down a bit. The Pilot (and other brand vehicles) has sold with considerable dealer incentives, (either advertised or unadvertised) for years. Check out my message 8578 on this forum. They need to do this as sales are too slow for the entire segment for the last 3 years or so.

Your price is an OK deal. (everyone seems to be getting at least about 5k off msrp.) Invoice price has been mostly a nominal figure for cost to the dealer on most vehicles for the last 15 years. The published invoice price may or may not have little relation to the dealers true cost.

Some folks have said that at least 2k of whatever dealer cash is out there is advertised. Many folks bought at $7000 or more off MSRP over last summer.

    Peter,
If your price is before tax and fees, you're 4,295 under msrp. I follow [jfritsch] advise here posted elsewhere - "...you want 6-7K off msrp". I read the 2006 summer posts in the forum and they were much lower for 2006 year as quoted.

Quotes from others in CA seem to be capturing 5K under msrp. I don't think the CA market compares well to WA, my assumption is sales volume is so much greater. However I've seen plenty of Pilots sitting in dealer inventory in this area so I don't understand yet why the dealers aren't motivated to get rid of them especially since gas is racing towards $3, the quotes might get deeper the very last week of the month - be on the lot March 30 or 31 ;)

I'm with a small Pilot buying group for this area, if you care to join or share info, please email my carspace mailbox.
  • suv4betsysuv4betsy Member Posts: 38
You're 5,345 under msrp.. I haven't been able to reach that yet in my state, seems fair short of the pending summer model year close out.
  • randpeterrandpeter Member Posts: 3
    Betsy,
Thanks for the update. Not sure I understand your comment " I read the 2006 summer posts in the forum and they were much lower for 2006 year as quoted" - are you saying that prices were lower in '06?
I certainly would like to join your group - makes sense that we could get a discount if a few vehicles are bought at the same time from the same dealer.
Since I am new to this forum, how do I email your carspace mailbox?
    Appreciate your help,
    Peter.

    Hello all,

First let me say thanks to all who have posted their prices paid here. It sure helps when purchasing to know the real prices that others are paying, and definitely saves many of us thousands of dollars. Over the weekend I purchased a new 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD w/RES from a dealer in Northern VA. My price was as follows:

$28,895 plus TTL - (inlcuded destination fee)

This figures to about $6545 below MSRP and $3073 below Edmunds invoice.

I traded a 2005 Acura TL with about 33K miles - which they gave me $23,000 for. I was out the door for $7115. My Acura Trade-in was booking for around $24,000 - $24,500 on Edmunds and Kelley, but I finally accepted the $23000 since I thought it to be a relatively good offer, especially with the price I was quoted on the Pilot. And of course I was quoted the "Black Book" price on my trade that topped out at $23,000.

Would be curious as to others thoughts as to whether this was a good deal.

Thanks again to all for your participation in this forum !!

    Hello DAtkins,
Congrats on your Pilot purchase. I am also looking for the same model - could you be kind enough to say the dealership you got this car from in Northern VA. Please note you are allowed to say the name of the dealership (and not the slaesperson) as per the rules of this forum http://www.edmunds.com/townhall/rulesoftheroad.html
You reply will really help a lot of folks like me to save money and also give you a good standing with your dealer.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you get Honda promotional APR also? I am talking with one dealer here in MN who is willing to offer me similar price but not the Honda promotional APR. What APR did you pay?

    Thanks

Looks like a really good deal. I'm in the market for an EX-L NAV.

Who's your dealer? I'm in NoVA too. I didn't really like the guys at Ffx Honda

No, I didn't finance, I paid cash. I believe you if you don't finance, you get the appx. $2,000 off the price.

I see lots of email on this forum saying that they got their 2007 Honda Pilot for 5k under MSRP. But I am wondering did they also get Honda promotional APR along with the price? Can someone confirm.

We just purchased an EX-L 4WD today from Wilde Honda in Waukesha, WI. The internet salesperson gave us a price via email of $27,684 + 89 service fee.(incl. destination) (Also had to add tax, title, license.) This was by far the lowest quote we had from many dealers. A dealer in Highland Pk. IL quoted 28131(incl. dest.)for same vehicle.

We drove 270 miles one way to make this purchase. Salesperson, sales mgr., and finance mgr. were all terrific to work with.

From Chicago, Waukesha is a short drive. It's well worth it.

Thanks to everyone who post on this site--your comments made our purchase possible.

Did you get any promotional APRs from the dealer (Honda Financing)? Or did you use a different source for finance?

    Thanks
  • boatboy24boatboy24 Member Posts: 6
Just bought an EX-L 4WD w/ RES last night from Hendrick in Woodbridge. We got internet quotes from 6 dealers in the area. They were about $700 below the closest competitor. Super easy to deal with.

We did not finance, so we got an additional $2k off the price. Be sure to ask about the financing or the rebate in lieu. Some dealers didn't tell me about it until I asked. Ended up paying $29,200, including freight and the "appearance package" which was pin stripe, mud flaps, wheel locks, edge guards for doors and wheel wells, and floor mats.
  • nefariousnefarious Member Posts: 14
See messages 8575 and 8576. You apparently can't get the rebate incentives and the APR deal both.
  • scottbehscottbeh Member Posts: 6
    Thx,

I'll check them out. I dealt w/Hendrick in Silver Spring a few years ago, and they were good.

Went to a dealer today, and they pitched the 3.9%/60 but didn't mention the $2k, just said they could do better if I got my own financing.

They offered 31,800 OTD for a ex-l nav.

    I walked.
  • boatboy24boatboy24 Member Posts: 6
You definitely made the right move. I'd say they've got another grand, maybe a bit more to give (assuming you're looking at the 4WD).

As I mentioned, we did the internet pricing through this site. The offer we took was their first one. It was the lowest of all, by far and seemed in line w/ what people on here were paying.
  • mcw3mcw3 Member Posts: 2
Our price reflected the $2000 factory to dealer rebate. They will not allow you to use the rebate and get special financing.

We financed through our credit union.
  • skippyjrskippyjr Member Posts: 1
    All,
I'm looking to buy an '07 2WD EX-L w/RES in Atlanta, and I'm wondering what price folks have been paying lately. I read a great deal about the promo apr vs. the "hidden" factory to dealer incentive. Any thoughts? Hope to buy in the next month.
    Thanks,
