I am thinking about trading in my 2006 Honda Pilot EX for a 2010 Touring. Yesterday a salesperson gave me a deal of 36,500 plus tax & fees for the Touring and financing again through Honda @ 2.9 for 60 mos. He is going to give me 17,000 fo my Pilot and considering others were trying to give me between 15 and 16,000 for it. Another dealer is supposed to call me Monday to let me know about locating a Touring, I want to know should I let them know about this offer and can they do better? I also want to know can I do better than first offer? Can someone help me, I want to pull the trigger but if I can do better please give me that insight.
Hi All, I am planning to buy this certified vehicle with 22k miles color cherry red, 1 owner lease vehicle in TX Vehicle is in Clean condition. Dealer is asking internet price 24888. Is this a good price? I have to make a decision tomorrow Appreciate your quick feedback.
Hi, Local dealer in Concord, NC is selling 2010 Touring Pilot 2WD with RES and NAV for $34,750.00 Plus tax, tag and Doc fee of $399. Tax in NC is 3% so OTD is about $36,400.
I still have not bought the car yet but I got Internet pricing from Priority Honda in Huntersville. Concord Honda made a mistake and it did not inculde rear DVD option. I think we might go with base model of Acura MDX since it has everything I really want. I don't car about DVD or GPS since I have portable version of both.
Recently purchased 2010 Honda Pilot EX, 4WD got it for 29900 plus taxes, title, reg, doc fees. Some VTR fee which I wasn't able to talk them out of. Live in AZ. Hope I got a good deal. Showed them I knew the TMV value and started talking from their. Oh and yes they admitted that they will start to receive the 2011 model in May but will be 200 more and no guarantee if 2.9% financing will be around then.
Well managed to pull off a deal today. Negotiated price of $32,550 +ttl for 2010 Honda Pilot EXL-RES 4WD. In chicago, OTD close to $36,072.74.... Different tax rates between counties chicago is cook county and i'm in will.....so damn the city for the extra $15 tax... oh well but pretty good next to one other guy who bought at mcgrath. 1.9% fiance for 36.... gotta get it before 3/1/2010.
I'm also in the Richmond area and bought a 09 EXL 2WD w/o RES at end of the month in AUG 2009 from Pohanka Honda in Fredericksburg. Got into internet bidding between them and West Broad Honda. Went back and forth a couple of times and I allowed 1 week to do so. I had them give costs on the exact model & color (2009 EXL 2WD, nimbus gray in my case). I never talked about a trade-in or any extras, I kept it simple. Once I knew they where at the "final" costs I then asked for OTD costs. I made clear I was ready to purchase "soon" but also was in no rush. I didn't get caught up in the urgency. Both dealerships were very pleasant to deal with. We went with Pohanka and they where great all they way through and worth the drive for a $500 savings.
We got a great deal on the car. We paid $28,960 which includes destination and $1400 of extras (running boards, all weather mats, cross bars, cargo cover & tray, and wheel locks). The OTD price was 30,334. This was also when Honda was giving dealers "cash/hold back" so I doubt you could get the same deal now but you never know. I wish you the best!
We purchased from Lynnwood Honda - I made contact first with the internet department there - I think there are only two guys who work in it. I feel funny writing their names becuse just above where I am posting this it says "You may include the dealership name, city and state in your post. Please do not post names of salespeople, telephone numbers, email addresses, or other contact information." It shouldn't be hard to figure out though!
For those interested, I just bought a 2010 Pilot Touring w/Navi & RES from Classic Honda in Orlando, FL for $35,090 plus the dealer fee of $599 for a total of $35,689 (plus tax & tag) so this was essentially a $17 under invoice deal. Orlando is 2.5 hours away from me so I handled everything by email and a couple of phone calls. They were very pleasant to deal with and had everything ready for me when I arrived to pick up the car.
Northern Va - Sales price: $34,156 (~$800 below invoice) + destination, tax, title and processing = OTD: $36,365. Picked it up today, just made the cutoff for 1.9% financing.
This was costco pricing. Recommend shopping around even with the costco pricing. Quoted sales prices varied from $1,000-$1,500 more than what we paid.
Autowest Nation , Northern California....Hello everyone, new to the forum and found this to be very interesting to learn others out there share the experience about the 2010 pilot. I just purchased a 2010 pilot 2 weeks ago. I paid 32,675 and want some feedbacks to know if I got a good deal? Thanks. All comments are welcome.
I used this site to price the Pilot I bought today and wanted to share my experience. I used the "Request a Quote" feature from the Honda website. I input the exact model I was looking for and received a price via e-mail. This was perfect as I never previously could get the dealers to give me a firm price in person without wasting my time with sales talk nonsense. I received a few quotes, the best of which was $33,159, which was $4,000 below sticker. I was expecting some sort of bait and switch, but the dealer (VIP in N Plainfield NJ) made good on the price. A little haggling with the trade in, but that was to be expected, and they were fair with final offer. A good website to help with your search is www.truecar.com which will give you the price paid by others in your area, and is a free site.
Purchased a 2WD touring cherry red exterior black interior from Honda of Fayetville, AR at $35,700 + $100 for delivery. He delivered the vehicle to my home Little Rock, AR (190 miles) in a trailer. I got the color combination I wanted with no haggling on price. Local dealers in LR would not go below $37 K
Chicago area...got a Touring brand new 2010 with 16 miles for $35,200. 1.9% finacing too!! Work with the internet sales department. Know what you want and deal via email. Work with more than one dealer and let them know you are working with another dealer. Email negotitaion is better! By the looks of things, I got a great deal. Also, negotiate your Honda Care warranty. If you are not getting a good price from the dealer you are getting the car from, go to a different dealer, you have 6,000 miles to purchase the warranty. You can save hundreds!
Lisle Honda (which is also Joliet/Plainfield Honda from what we were told)... so far has been good. This is our third Honda, first from time from this dealer and have been impressed with their pricing and after purchase treatment. Have had a glitch with the radio and they have been great! Good luck!
Honda started $1500 dealer cash so Price should come down. I feel really bad as i bought mine on Feb 25, 2010 just 4 days ago. However as far as color and vehicle goes i got what i wanted (2 WD touring with NAV and RES)
You got what you wanted and you love your car... anyway you cut it, car buying is a gamble (cash back, rebates, financing). $400 bucks or so either way wouldn't make or break the deal (when you are above $30,000)
2010 Touring 4WD with NAV. I did not want the RES - never used it in previous car. No other options are needed, the 4WD touring with NAV gives you the back up camera, hitch, sensors and upgraded stereo. MSRP was $39,???.
I got a quote from a honda dealer today her in No VA for 2010 pilot EXL AWD with RES for 32600 + Tax and title. The on road comes to around 33700. Is this a good price.
I live in Northern Virginia too. I think that sounds like a good price. I got a 2wd touring with no RES. It has the same sticker price as the 4wd EXL with RES. I got mine from Bill Page Honda with Jon and Esmerelda. The lowest price I could find anywhere was Nick at Sandshonda.com in Maryland. We ended up going with Bill Page for convenience of pick up, but Nick's price was the best. I originally wanted the EXL, but am glad I went wtih the Touring because I love the power rear door, Ipod hookup, Navigation, acoustic windshield, etc. I like being able to see the ipod menu on the navigation screen. I have three children and we already had three personal dvd players so I didn't need the RES. They also like to be able to watch different shows. I think the EXL is a great car too, just wanted to share why we went with the Touring. You can probably get a great deal on the Touring now too. Good luck. Now that you have that quote you can email other dealers and see if anyone wants to beat it. I had them throw in free rubber mats too. I am so glad I have those especially with all the snow!
If you can budget in the touring you may want to try, the upgraded sterero, sunshades for the kids, memory seats and trailer hitch may make it worth it. That also will help your trade in value. As far as the price for the EXL you rec'd...get a comp. price via email. Email a compet. and say I am interested in a..., have a trade in of this, what's your best price. That's what we did. If you know your details they will take you seriously. Around Chicago, the internet sales dept. can't take sales from walk in customers, so they are more eager to make a sale off of your email. Know the Edmunds TMV as well. Also, shop around for your Honda Care warranty. We bought ours for $200 cheaper from a dealer by our house that didn't give us a good price on the car, but did give a good warranty price after they realized thay lost a car sale...they took what they could get!
This forum has been helping me a lot for the process of buying our family dream car so I want to share mine. I am not sure if I got a good or bad deal - but we made our decision already. We live in Albany, New York
Just bought 2010 EX-L 4WD basic Option $32,300 with 0.9% this weekend. No Trade-in. According to Edmunds.com the current deal is 0.9% for 36 months or 1.9% for 60 months or $1,500 cash back from Manufacturer to dealer. First we sent email to about 10 dealers then came to dealer who responded to the email. We start our negotiation with $32,164 (True Cost from http://www.truecar.com), and then go up to 32,300. I also use TMV price from Edmunds.com
As for Navigation, my portable Garmin works great so I do not want to pay thousand extra for it. But if you have money extra ( around 4,000) you could probably get touring with these options.
I live in Washington DC and am looking to purchase a Honda Pilot Touring 2010. So far I've been getting a $39,000 out the door price. Can some one share how much they paid. I'm looking for a Black on Black or Silver on Black leather. Any leads on local dealers to check out or avoid would also be helpful.
You can check out post 13695 from October and 13973 from the other day about my price break down and dealers in Northern Virginia. I paid 35,700 OTD for my 2WD touring in polished metal with black interior. I am very happy with this car!
Are you getting RES? If you are that would be 3300 over what I paid, but you are getting RES and 4WD. Call Nick at sandshonda.com or Jon at Bill Page Honda and see what they can do. Nick had the lowest price around and he is in MD.
Any suggestions on where to look for best pricing? Also, I have a 1999 Honda Odyssey EX(110k miles) I want to trade. Who offers best deals with trade-ins?
Can anyone confirm that the $1,500 dealer cash can not be combined with the special financing rates currently available? I can't find it anywhere, but 2 dealers have told me that.
Last night we bought a 2010 Pilot Touring 2WD with RES in Bali Blue from Gerry Wood Honda in Salisbury, NC. We paid $34,500 plus the doc fee plus tax and tag. They gave me a fair trade for a deer-dented 2000 Celica GT with 160K miles. Best of all, they were really very pleasant to work with.
I had a frustrating experience with Honda of Concord (NC) the day before so working with Gerry Wood was really a nice departure from the steretypical car-buying experience.
Hi, New to this forum, got a recent price to lease a Pilot EXL w/RES 4x4 $4200 OTD Due, Cap Cost $32,600, ( MSRP $37,755 )Residual=$20,365, $400 per mo for 36 months, 12k year miles.
Kathy72, I'm looking to purchase a Pilot Touring 4WD in the same area that you did. I've gotten Internet quotes from several dealers, and their initial quotes were very similar to what you indicated you paid ($35,200 including dest.with the 1.9%). I'm just curious if you had any luck with the Internet Sales dept's on coming down from their initial quote, and what your tactics were. Their initial quotes seem pretty low off the bat.
I'm also looking to trade in an older Honda, how did they work with your trade? Thanks in advance for your help.
Also, does anyone had any luck negotiating add-ons in lieu of a price change, for example running boards, remote starter, etc?
This board is great, and has been extremely helpful for me. Thank you all.

I did not choose RES ($1,600) because 2 of my kids have already 2 Sony DVP-FX930 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black with mounting (very sleek)
see pictures in http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B001TCJI7E/ref=cm_ciu_pd- p_images_0?ie=UTF8&index=0
Total cost probably about $300.

How does the Highlander compare to the Pilot?
I'll be financing for 60 months, so i'd take the 1.9% over the cash.
