very positive expereince at Huntington Honda and highly recommend.
2010 Touring 4WD. No RES.
I got it for $34,445(includes Destination charge) + Tax/TTL. I did trade in an 11 yr old Honda Odyssey which they will probably make $2500-3K on after they fix it up.
truecar.com value is $38,888. Very fair price.
Prior price was $34,995, w/o trade in required.
They were also able to get me 1.9% for 60 months financing from a private bank, allowing me the best of both worlds on price and interest rate.
Inventory is very limited. The 2011's are already floating around.
They have a fully loaded Touring model w RES, Rims, woodgrain, Runners, etc. with MSRP of $46k in the showroom.
I went through Internet Dept at first, then they transferred me to someone on the floor.
Not allowed to post names. My salesman was very nice and low key. I do not buy from pushy people.
Just know what they have, what you want, and what the true cost is before you go in, and be reasonable.
On Honda's website they have Pilot LX for 36 months lease, 0 down, 0 everything, $350 a month. They are offering this deal assuming the MRSP of the Pilot LX is $28,605.00
If I go into a dealership and negotiate a EX-L down to 30, and then put 2,000 down can I finagle this lease deal for the EX-L or are these promotional lease deals just for the particular models?

I am getting a quote of approx. 29000 (includes destination charge) for 2010 Pilot 2WD EX-L with no options. Is this a good price? Not sure if there is room to negotiate... did anyone recently buy 2010 Pilot?
I went through Overstock.com (thanks to another member for pointing that out. Didnt evben know they had that) auto and got 2 quotes from competing dealerships for 2wd Pilot Touring for $32,600 +TTL. He initially says we would have a dealer fee too, but I should get out of that.
How does the price seem? I know its competitive, but anyone think I can squeeze some more out? Id love to be high $31's or $32k flat. Thanks for any input
This is the quote I got on the EX-L $29,500, give you the hondacare warranty 8yr/100k for only $1000, the doc is $599.
That doc fee of $599 seems a bit much. Not the best price on the pilot, but a great price on the warranty. But I'm sure they are making up for it with that $599 fee. Any feedback would be appreciated. That does include destination.
Got 2010 basic LX model at David McDavid Honda Friso for $26140 OTD and 1.9% APR for 60 months through Honda Financial. They dont have LX on the lot so have to order via Dealer Exchange and will be ready tomorrow. Played number game for about 3 hours though...
I got a basic lx 2wd at Grace Honda for 25,600 before tax and fee, so for your price is pretty darn good out the door price. I brought mine in the Bay area CA, which state did you brought your?
I was recently quoted $32,250 for a 2010 Pilot EX-L. I eventually got him down to $32,000 with very little down. That was on Wednesday. On Friday I noticed that Honda is offering Dealer Cash of $1500. I emailed the dealer and he told me that the dealer cash was already worked in. He never told me about the dealer cash nor did he show me that it was taken off the price. Is he bullshittin me here? This dealer cash incentive just started, but I've been getting similar quotes on the '10 EX-L since January with neither of the other dealers offering the dealer cash.
He is BSing you, you should be able to get under 30k no questions asked. Just picked up my 2010 ex-l with premium running boards, cargo cover, cargo tray for 29500 with 1.9% for 60 months. Was also able to get 8yr/100k hondacare with 0 deductible for 1000. The finance guy was even surprised by the overall deal.

I got the warranty from Honda Carland North in GA, I sent them the quote from Sarcucci Honda of 1180 or 1190, and they came back with that offer. When the finance guy was putting in the numbers he said that they lost money on it. I honestly just wanted them to match the other price. I think that is the longest they offer.
I started following this forum about a month ago when we started seriously thinking about a Pilot...so thanks to all of you for your help. We were originally looking for a 4WD Touring without RES, but by the time we decided to actually buy, we couldn't find any without RES, so we decided to get the RES. Also, from looking around the greater Boston area, we found very few dealerships with the Touring models left....and of those that remain, most were the Alabaster Silver. There are lots of 2010 EX-Ls but it is slim picking on choices for the Tourings. So, my deal is fine...not as amazing as some that I've seen posted here...but we got the color we wanted (Dark Cherry Pearl)...and added accessories. The detail is below.
I have a few follow-up questions for all of you, and if this isn't the right forum please point me to the right place...but I couldn't find information on these particular questions.
1. Honda is trying to sell us a "Guidepoint" unit. It is similar to a combination of LoJack and OnStar...a GPS vehicle locator and emergency system. I can't find any information on any forum here with information on the system. For that matter I've googled the system and can't find much other than the Guidepoint website. The dealer is asking $995 to install the system. I believe monthly monitoring is above and beyond that cost, but can't find anything which lists costs. Does anyone know anything about this system...good or bad? ...and if we were to decide to go for it, does anyone know anything about the monthly cost? ...and if we were to decide to go for it, does anyone have information related to lowering that $995 cost?
2. I've seen lots of negative comments about the interior/exterior protector warranty, but we are considering it in case something happens to the leather (ie a slice or rip)...and also I did see something about other Pilots having problems with the leather piping ripping. That is $599. Again, thoughts?
3. Tire Care -- They are telling us that the $599 will cover wheel alignment and balancing for 5 years. Is that worth it?
I need to get back to the financing guy tomorrow. We look the price sheet with us Friday night.
As for pricing on our deal:
4WD Touring w-Nav and Res -- $37,241. That was $800 more than the lowest price we could get elsewhere, but the dealer made it up on the trade by increasing that by $800, so at the end that $800 was a wash.
Accessories: We added several accessories to be installed on the car before we pick it up: Premium Running Boards, Wheel locks, Towing Kit, 2" ball hitch, Bumper Corner Protectors, Door edge guards, All Season Floor Mats, Cargo Tray, Cargo Cover, 2nd Row Seat Cover, Remote Start (not the Honda remote start as we were advised against it by several dealers...they all said that they have had multiple problems with them). Total accessory cost: $2735
It is $100 to transfer our plates and $299 destination. Tax here is 6.25%.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can give on my questions above...and I am hope that our pricing detail is helpful.
I really think you don't need to buy any warranty on your honda pilot.. the one you mentioned such as guide point, interior warranty, and 100,000 miles warranty.. You don't need it..
I think you are getting hosed on the price of the car.
We paid $35,075 OTD for a 2010 touring with RES just a few days ago and that included all season mats, all documentation fees, etc.
That price is WAY too high. Check out overstock.com and truecar.com.
The dealer who gave us that price didn't even have a Touring on the lot. Using overstock.com, we found the dealer- negotiated the price and they found the exact car (color and all) in 48 hours.
I know that others on this forum have gotten better deals, but I don't believe we are getting hosed. I had visited all of the sites recommended here and the information I had as of the date of purchase was:
Truecar.com listed: 37,053.00 Zag.com (overstock.com) listed: 36,504.00 (closest dealer was 50 miles away and 2 of the 3 listed were out of state)...and none of them listed the car I wanted as current inventory Our price before accessories, tax, title destination: 37,241.40
Also, I negotiated an extra $800 off the price...the dealer allocated it as an increase to the trade in rather than reducing the purchase price listed on the purchase and sale. If they had put it against the purchase price, it would have been 36,441. It didn't matter to me which line item they used for that $800 (decrease purchase price/increase trade-in), since the net was the same and sales taxes were reduced by the trade in.
I did have a lower purchase price offer (also with a lower trade in value) at another dealer, but when I went there they didn't have the car on the lot...and said they would "try" to get it from another dealer...but they also said they could not get the color I really wanted...telling me that there were only two in New England. My feeling was that although they were nice and responsive via email, that they were playing games once I got to the showroom. They told me they could get me at least three different colors, but once I got there, there was only one which they could get...and it was my last color choice. ...and the truth is that I have no time or patience for the games.
So, do I think I might have been able to knock a little off? Probably. Do I think that if I hadn't signed an agreement that night, that I might have lost that particular car? Maybe. But the combination of traveling to dealers further away, and the shrinking 2010 Touring inventory...especially in my first choice color, make me feel ok with the deal we got.
Where are you? I'm also in new England- guessing you are in Vermont or MA?
Grappone Honda in Bow, NH is where we purchased our car...nevermind, I think you already signed papers. Glad you got the car you wanted, though! Enjoy it- the touring is awesome
Hi Any one who live in Nor-California have any deal for the Pilot EX 4WD. Please let me know. I did talk to the dealer in Elk Grove they give me 23000 OTD. I did mention about the rebate 1500 to the dealer He say it for lease only. Is that true? any one know? Also please give the OTD prices and Dealer location. thankx
Is 29500 before or after TTL. I am being told that the only incentive available on pilot is APR financing. Is that true? Is there any dealer cash back available as posted on another thread?
We went to autobrag dot com and put in a offer for 29500. The offer was accepted. We went in trying to negotiate starting at 28k, salesman laughed and wouldn't go below 31150, because there invoice price is $150 above other regions' invoice prices, because of advertising ha ha. We weren't getting anywhere so I showed him the 29.5k accepted offer and he was like wow, and stopped laughing at us. They honored the offer.
We asked for a trade-in after we settled on the price, but he wouldn't give us 2k for our Toyota Echo '01 fair condition 71k miles. They only offered 1000, so we turned that down. Asked about the lease possibility. He came back with a mf of .00183, I said go ask the sales manager about the sign & drive mf of .00173. I overheard the sales manager raising his voice saying "HOW DOES HE KNOW THAT," the salesman had to tell him "I didn't tell him the number." The salesman came back and told me they couldn't offer me that special, it was only for the LX. I don't believe it.
We went to the financing office. We were offered 5.6% or so for 72 months (we are buying more car than we can afford, yes of course we are). I told him we were getting a penfed.com loan at 4.75%, match it or we'll come back in a day or two with a check from penfed. He went down to 4.99%. Said it would be $3 more a month than 4.75, i was still adamant. I then asked about extended warranty he wanted $980 for 6yr/80k miles. Hyannis and Sacuccia quoted $695 for same warranty, he then said $800 with 4.75% interest. We were ready to buy at 4.99% but he said this. He had just got done telling me he had done everything possible to get it to 4.99, then he slipped. I pointed it out to him, said we were just going with penfed and we were buying a warranty from elsewhere. I mentioned to give us the warranty for $700, finally he said we had a deal with 4.75% interest and $700 warranty, 5 dollars over hyannis.
It was a mexican hat dance but we finally got to an agreeable outcome. Wish I could have come on here and broke the $29,500, but with the guy who got all those accessories for $29.5k my deal is only so so compared to his. I feel good about it though. Much better than the touring story that was posted yesterday.
Just picked up mine from Autowest in Fremont this past weekend. Got 4WD Touring w/ RES. These are hard to get in California. I actually live in Southern California and flew up to pick it up.
The dealers will usually quote you with the rebate from my experience. If you want the financing, they add 1500 to the price. So its one or the other. You don't have to lease the car.
I just bought an EX-L AWD with Rear entertainment System for 31950. I checked multiple dealerships in the bay area CA via eamil and this was the lowest I could get them to go.
I bought from the Santa Rosa Honda (Manly) but several others were willing to go to about 32K as well. I just happen to live in Santa Rosa. From what I gathered, they're making way for the new 2011 models coming in and willing to deal on the 2010's.
Hey, 23000 otd for ex 4wd? That sounds impossible! Are you sure? IF that is correct, i will jump in my car and drive up there to elk grove from san fran.
Just bought 2010 4wd Touring with NAV with Running boards with lights/crossbars/window visor/cargo tray/moonroof visor/door edge guards/all weather mats with extended warranty $38,200 out the door.
I used overstock/zag and got the lowest online quote of $34,500 for '10 Touring w/RES from Pohanka Honda in Fredericksburg, VA. I'm guessing TTL, Destination are extra. The next quote I have is about $1900 more from a dealer closer to my house in Howard County, MD. Is the zag price for real? Or is it a bait and switch? I have emailed Pohanka to give me a breakdown. But they were asking what color and option I needed and will get back to me. When I got the quote on zag it seemed like it checks actual dealer inventory. But the dealer sounds like he doesn't have it in his inventory. What I'm more interested is that the lowest zag price offered for a particular model.. do the dealers actually honor it?
I believe you can get 31,000 2wd ex-l w/res. We paid 29,500 including running boards, cargo cover, and cargo tray. So even if you paid full 1600 more for RES you still are at 31,100. Good luck.
Included destination, but had a BS fee of 599 that we got down to 500. Also got the 8yr/100k hondacare warranty for 1000 which I believe is a loss, but that 500 is pure profit....otd with 7%tax, tag, title, BS fee, warranty, accessories was. 32,329 I believe
I wanted the exact same car and Pohanka said they didn't have any and couldn't locate any from nearby states. I picked up mine for 35k from Grappone Honda in Bow, NH. Great experience- they didn't have one either....but they found one for me in 24 hours.
I am in the market for 2010 Pilot EX 2WD. I got a quote for $26,670 from a dealer in Columbus OH. They are telling me that I can't get this price with 1.9%, is this true? Any one has any insight into this?
$36,887 710 --- Freight 100 --- Processing ====== $37,697 2,261 --- Tax 6% 274 --- Tilte, Tags, Recording Fee ====== $40,232.82 --- Out the Door
Thoughts Please!
PS - I have owned four Toyota Highlanders since 2001 and tried to take advantage of the 0% for 60 months and the dealers are very inflexible charging close to MSRP even when I tell them about other deals I am getting.
Thanks for the info Frukio. Zag inventory is kinda bogus. Pohanka had no Touring's but Zag still shows as available. How did you get it from NH? Did they ship it or you drove to NH?
After going back and forth and checking virtually every dealership's inventory within a 3 state radius, I finally found a 2010 Pilot 4wd Touring w/Nav & RES for:
35800-including destination fee 399-processing fee 1158.32-Taxes (3.2 % for VA incl county tax) 53.75 Tags
37411.07 Out the door
I basically started my search emailing 4 or 5 dealers stating that I had a dealer that offered 36442 (invoice) however I know that Honda started offering the $1500 dealer cash back, can they beat this price. After searching and searching and searching I finally came across Peninsula Honda in Hampton, VA. They had a white w/gray leather. I hammered out all of the details before I went and had it in writing. One of the first things that the salesman did was pull out our email conversation and had me verify the price that they quoted. Once I agreed that we would like to purchase the car, they gave me an excellent trade in on my 08 CRV that had 54k miles and that had also been wrecked! We have owned 6 or 7 Honda vehicles. This was by far the easiest transaction that we have had. I live in Roanoke, VA, I drove 4 hours to pick up the vehicle. I would do it again tomorrow for such a great deal and no fuss. I would like to also say that I ended up getting 3.5% interest rate on my vehicle for 60 months. Since Honda cannot offer the 1.9% due to taking the dealer cash incentive they were able to go through BB&T to get the 3.5%. Compared to local banks 3.5% is a great rate. I hope this helps anyone still looking for a Pilot, as of last weekend they were almost impossible to find! Good Luck!
Okay, so here's the offer I got from a Pacific Honda in SD.
2010 FWD EX-L
Offer A.) $30500 - up to TTL (my financing) $7300 - on 2003 Acura RSX-S trade-in
Offer B.) $31675 - up to TTL (their financing) $7300 - on 2003 Acura RSX-S trade-in
Truth-be-told, I think with a 4% financing offer from a bank, the second one is still better.
I couldn't get them to budge off this price...
What I found ironic is that they have a "returned" 2010 FWD EX-L on the lot that was perfect; but they wouldn't budge of the 31675 price. It was returned due to financing problems on the first buyer. It had 745 miles on it. When I first saw it, I thought I would be able to get a sweet deal on it; turns out I was wrong.
We spent about an hour at our final price. Eventually, we both just kind of gave up. Too bad, I liked the salesman.
Anyways, at that price, I'm not going to take it without at least talking to every dealer in the area first. I've got better offers from dealers, but I worry about the trade-in negotiations as the dealers are about 145 miles aways...
What's nice, is that I don't need a new car tomorrow; I was just hoping to get a sweet deal (i.e. like the $29,500 with some options one previously gotten by another forum member).
The only thing I really lost was 2 hours of my Saturday; and it was nice out!

Grappone Honda in Bow, NH is where we purchased our car...nevermind, I think you already signed papers. Glad you got the car you wanted, though! Enjoy it- the touring is awesome

The dealers will usually quote you with the rebate from my experience. If you want the financing, they add 1500 to the price. So its one or the other. You don't have to lease the car.
How much did you pay for the touring w/RES 4WD? This is what I wanted but couldn't get the dealer to "deal" because of lack of inventory....
What dealer did you buy it from? Thx.
From what I gathered, they're making way for the new 2011 models coming in and willing to deal on the 2010's.
Thanks
I have emailed Pohanka to give me a breakdown. But they were asking what color and option I needed and will get back to me. When I got the quote on zag it seemed like it checks actual dealer inventory. But the dealer sounds like he doesn't have it in his inventory. What I'm more interested is that the lowest zag price offered for a particular model.. do the dealers actually honor it?
Great dealer- great price!
Thanks.
Thanks for all the great info.

PS - I have owned four Toyota Highlanders since 2001 and tried to take advantage of the 0% for 60 months and the dealers are very inflexible charging close to MSRP even when I tell them about other deals I am getting.
After going back and forth and checking virtually every dealership's inventory within a 3 state radius, I finally found a 2010 Pilot 4wd Touring w/Nav & RES for:
35800-including destination fee
399-processing fee

Offer A.)
$30500 - up to TTL (my financing)
$7300 - on 2003 Acura RSX-S trade-in
Offer B.)
$31675 - up to TTL (their financing)
$7300 - on 2003 Acura RSX-S trade-in
Truth-be-told, I think with a 4% financing offer from a bank, the second one is still better.
Any advice??
Thx, Joel
$30,900 + TTL + fees = $34,500 OTD.
I traded my 2004 Mini cooper s and got 11,000 for it.
Financed $19,570 with 3.2% fixed rate for 66 months.
