I'm looking for 2010 Pilot EX-L no RES in SoCal. The lowest offer I got is $ 29,700 (incl Des.Chg). What do you guys think of it?
I've been reading this forum for a few months now, and ppl (frm other states) got much better deals than this.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

    Hi timc77,

I am looking for 2010 Pilot/EX-L with RES. I am in MA too. Which dealer has given you that price? Thanks
  • timc77timc77 Member Posts: 2
Boch Honda in Norwood Rt1. Just got the Pilot EX-L tonight. Let me know what you get for the EX-L with RES,. Thanks
  • vinsetvinset Member Posts: 3
I made a deal 31,400 with the same dealer only but it fell through. would not give 0.9 % advertised APR by Honda.
  • lookin4pilotlookin4pilot Member Posts: 7
No it doesn't. Riverside. What was your offer?
  • parker2009parker2009 Member Posts: 6
i haven't made my way over to a dealership yet, just wanted to get an idea of what pricing is like here in socal. i'll let you know what i get offered once i have some time to head over there (btw, i'm in san diego).

I am beginning my search for this same model in SoCal. Can I ask how has your experience been so far in regards to supply and getting dealers down in price? Also does that price include the 1500 rebate?
  • ksm01ksm01 Member Posts: 4
The first quote turned out to be a bogus. Just to get me to their shop. That is Stevens Creek Honda, Sanjose. Tommy Carter quoted that bogus price, and his colleague TP Singh (Internet manager) straight away refused to honor the quote, stating it was a mistake. Where as I had reconfirmed through reply emails, the previous day, that the price was for 2011 model. Liars !! I walked out in 4 minutes !!

Now watching this board, before I get to another vendor !!

My experience hasn't been that great. I keep seeing others getting better prices, taking into account the extras they are getting, and I am only trying for a bareboned EX-L.

What is your location, Tim? Are you in the SGV area too? I am wondering if we could get a better leverage if we offered to buy 2 or more vehicles at the same time with the same salesperson. I heard before... donkey years before, a friend went with two others and got a really great deal (that was when Civics were only about $6K) on 3 Civics.
  • lookin4pilotlookin4pilot Member Posts: 7
Thanks for the update ksm01, I was thinking that I would have to hop on a plane to get to your dealer and drive it back down again just to get that great deal... I would too if it was a really sweet deal.

Just bought a 2011 4WD EXL for 33,500 on March 31st. We had been quoted @31,500 for a 2010 4WD EXL but they were not in stock anywhere around me so we bit the bullet and bought the 2011.
  • tim92887tim92887 Member Posts: 7
I am in Garden Grove area. I just started looking at the pilot as I was about the get the highlander but dealers were terrible here in regards to pricing due to low supply. I think it might be worth a shot since they would be making two sales at once and therefore doubling a small profit to make it acceptable. What price are you looking to get to get EXL for? Taking rebate or low APR? The last dealer I talked to told me he could do both (dont know if he was full of it but Ive read the same thing on this site).
  • lookin4pilotlookin4pilot Member Posts: 7
GG isn't far for a deal, I would even head over to San Diego (Bay Area even) if Parker can find an accommodating salesperson there. I am shooting for under $29K but will take low $29K I guess. About your dealer being able to do both, I am sure it's possible since the rebate is from mfr to dealer right? So I think it would be up to dealer to give it up. If I had to choose then, I would go for rebate.

What about you? What model and price are you going for?
  • thomasr1950thomasr1950 Member Posts: 76
I've read on line about a $1500 March discount from Honda. Wase? this just for certain areas or nationwide? I bought a 2010 EX-L last month so it it was good nationwide i'm going back to the dealer & request my money.
  • tim92887tim92887 Member Posts: 7
I would drive too if I trusted I was getting a good deal. I would be sold at 29k for a ex-l. I would need to know what kind of interest rate i can get if i didnt go with the 1.9. I have read that people have gotten both somehow with the dealership finding 1.9 financing thru local banks. Is there a ex-l with navigation? or is it just the 2011 model where you can get the exl with nav?
  • crv123crv123 Member Posts: 33
For 2010 Nav is only available on the touring model. For 2011 you can get it on the ex-l.
  • bartio1975bartio1975 Member Posts: 12
A dealer in RI quoted a '10 Touring w/Nav for $33,200 + TTL for an OTD price of $35,800. The odo has 230 miles on it. Good ?

I am starting to look for a new vehicle for my wife and just started the hunt. I recently had good luck on the Edmunds forum for my MDX, so I thought I would start here. I am looking for a vehicle to replace our 04 Oydssey and want something for the Colorado snow storms. The Pilot seems to fit the bill for our family. What is a reasonable price to pay for a 2010-11 EXL-RES or Touring? Since the changes seem to be minimal for 2011 it seems like if I can find the right 2010, I might save a little money. I just got a qoute from a local dealer of $33,755 for a 2010 EXL-RES. My hunch is that this is high. I don't have enough information to determine what is considered a good price yet. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a 2010 EX-L in the southeast and have not been able to find one... I do have a decent deal on a 2011 EX-L I think 31,900.
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
I had a quote for an EXL for $30,175 in N. Calif.
  • mermaid1mermaid1 Member Posts: 4
31,900 is pretty good for 2011. You may be able to use this to locate one: link title. However, I'd verify the dealers website or contact them to make sure they have what your looking for in stock. I find that it will assist in locating a vehicle, but inventory isn't always accurate.
  • jplymanjplyman Member Posts: 90
Thank you for the link - I checked and confirmed that I'm probably looking at a 2011. I have found quite a few dealers that have not updated there websites regarding there 2010 inventory drives me nuts. I'm hoping to get that price down a little further - that was his initial price without haggling - but this will be my third honda in the last 24 months from him.
  • lookin4pilotlookin4pilot Member Posts: 7
@ justaveragejoe: is it 2011 or 2010? with RES?
  • bartio1975bartio1975 Member Posts: 12
I'm picking it up tomorrow. Couldn't find anything similar anywhere close.. I put a deposit as I'm getting it at least $1500 cheaper than anywhere else..
  • mcfire81mcfire81 Member Posts: 4
Just got a quote here in N. VA for a 2010 EX-L w/o RES for $31,300 + TTL. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking for better offers???
  • jplymanjplyman Member Posts: 90
I'm looking at purchasing a 2010 EX-L with DVD headrest for 31,499 - the DVD headrest cost 1499 - so the price without would be 30,000 here in the Atlanta area.
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
It was a 2010 without RES.
  • nepilotnepilot Member Posts: 2
vinset- i see you recently got your pilot at boch. i did as well...2010 ex-l w/res. do you notice any pulling to the right with your pilot? i find that i need to constantly keep the wheel turned to the left about 5-10degrees. just curious if this is normal or not? boch tried telling me it's due to road crown and the vehicle has to break in. i'm not believing it since our other two hondas have never done this...2007 odyssey and 09 CRV. let me know. thanks.
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
Welcome to the forum. You must have some serious road crowns where you live. Also, I can't imagine a car learning how to drive straight after it "breaks-in". Check the tire pressure, then have the dealer check the entire front suspension and wheel alignment. Something (someone) could have bumped the alignment out during transportation.
  • lookin4pilotlookin4pilot Member Posts: 7
@ justaveragejoe : I got an offer for $29,700 for that. I'm still looking for something lower.
  • jplymanjplyman Member Posts: 90
I noticed my soon to be new 2011 pulling to the right on some roads but when I was on the highway center lanes it seemed to track pretty straight. It seems that the pilot maybe a little more sensitive to the road crown then most.
  • jplymanjplyman Member Posts: 90
Was able to pick up a new 2011 EX-L for 33,800 OTD in the Atlanta area (7% sales tax) - had no trade feel very good about the deal. So roughly 31,590 plus tax of $2,210 - My USAA buying service said 31,900 plus fees....
  • oneway1963oneway1963 Member Posts: 6
No, they're not sensitive. From what I've read here and in other places, that's a problem with many new Pilots. That's why I'm going to be extra mindful during test drive time. Any pull at all, and NO DEAL!
  • nepilotnepilot Member Posts: 2
thanks for the response. after my 2nd alignment at the dealership, i've noticed a significant improvment to this problem. i've researched this in depth and have questioned the dealership about everything i've found. they have given me excuses from its caused by road crown, the tires need a good 1000 miles to break in, wider tires cause the pilot to react to the road more and the latest was that it takes time for the vehicle to "bounce back" from the intense pressure it experience when tied down when shipped to the dealership. i want to believe them but simply don't. so, 2 alignments and a front tire rotation later and thing seem much better. this is a great vehicle that honda needs to address this issue that's a hassle for new owners.

    I have a '10 EX-L, i haven't noticed any pulling in mine.

Curious what the best deals are for either an EX-L or Touring with NAV? Final selection will probably be decided by $$'s. Thanks

Getting a quote for $34500 including destination .
What do you all think ? Do I have more room for negotiation ?
    This is in N. CA.
  • jplymanjplyman Member Posts: 90
    It was the 2WD -
  • kd2000kd2000 Member Posts: 14
Pulled the plug at $34000 + TTL etc.. on just arrived Gray with Gray in the lot.
We were first ones to test drive.
Got free 2 yrs worth OIL changes.
Had to finance at 4% as 1.9 is good only for 2010 models.
Plan to payoff in 36 months instead of 60.
    Truecar.com shows this at cost.

Hi kd2000 - Where did you buy the car from, and does 34K includes destination?

I went to 2 dealerships in NJ today, and got almost same quote:
    2011 EX-L 4WD w/o RES - $32195 + Destination + TTL (At 4-5% financing depending on credit)
    OR
    2011 EX-L 4WD w/o RES - $33695 + Destination + TTL (At 1.9%)

    Are these good prices?
    Thanks
  • ksm01ksm01 Member Posts: 4
seems you did well, on overall, comparing the discounts i got. I ended up at 32000.00 OTD, where as i started off with 28000.00 for the suv. Add KARR for 695, and an interest rate of 6.7% (in this age and day of low interests), eventually it ended up at 32K, thanks to 9.75% sales tax of alameda county.

Guess, what, I came home and applied for online loan with BOFA, it gave me 4.29%. I am sure, when I sit with a manager face to face, i can bring it down to 4%, and kill off the payment to American Honda Fin. within the next few days. The reason I had to settle for 6.7% was there was only ONE cherry color left in NORTHERN california and another 4 pieces of 4WDEX in the entire california, because of the incoming of 2011 models.

Yes includes destination charges. In N. Ca.
Is your quote with or without (w/o) with RES, as you are saying w/o !
Go thru the internet dept for best prices.
Anyways I thought it was a good price to get almost 4K off the MSRP.
  • hpcarhpcar Member Posts: 5
kd2000 - My quote was without RES

So the price which was offered from there Internet Dept was 32195 + Destination for 2011 EXL but for 2011 Pilot I will have to go thru honda financing or external agency.

One of them said, they can offer me 1.9% rate but that they would need to add 1500 to the car price in order for them to buy the points down, which is still a better deal long-term then getting 4.9 or similar.

So in that scenerio it would be 33695 + 710 + ~2400 TTL(7% NJ) + Dealer Document and Registration fees.
  • vinsetvinset Member Posts: 3
I did not get the deal because of the finance. I mentioned that before also. SO I can't comment on pulling.
  • crimson090crimson090 Member Posts: 1
I found this thread very useful in price research so I thought I'd sign up and contribute.

    Tomorrow I will be purchasing a 2010 Pilot 4WD EX-L w/ RES from a Massachusetts dealer for $32,290 + TTL.

I feel pretty good about the price. Emailed around a lot and the lowest I got was $31,900 but this dealer I'm working with was an hour closer.

I wish the financing was better, but I got 3.29% for 5 years which isn't too bad. I was hoping to get the 0.9% for 3 years but even after mentioning I knew this would add $1500 to the price they didn't bring it up.
  • chitowntwinschitowntwins Member Posts: 6
I've been pricing 2011 Tourings. I've gotten 2 dealers to $36,958 (one was matching a deal but originally quoted me $38,722) and another dealer is at $36,707.

I am really interested in the Pilot. Upon searching prices, I found that there is a dealer outside of Boston that rents Hondas and Toyotas (and others) out for short term rentals, say from a day to a month. I thought that would be a great idea. I could rent a Pilot for a weekend with unlimited mileage, and drive it for a long period of time to see if the seats are comfortable and if this vehicle would really be for me. I wish other dealers would do this

I am wondering if anyone in the New England area has ever done this. I am a little skeptical due to the fact that I honestly have never seen a Honda dealer rent cars out like a commercial car renal business.
