I am new to this forum and I have a few questions that feel very basic compared to other things that I have seen. I am just starting to do research on a Jetta 1.8 T sport automatic 3yrs/12k in Memphis Tn (https://www.truecar.com/dash/1435368578602-269941/market/) and I am wondering the following: 

1. Is it typically recommended/worth it to invest in the Drive Easy program for these lease terms?
2. If so which plan would you recommend for these terms?
3. Is it worth it to invest in the wear and tear program?
4. Are the prices set for these programs or do they vary by dealership?
5. If the prices are set is there an online resource that you can reccommend
6. In some of your responses to other participants you mention the possibility of hidden fees, typically what are these expenses?
7. What is the "MF" and the residual and how do they effect the monthly cost

I know that this is a lot so thank you in advance for answering my questions! 

1. Not familiar with the Drive Easy program. What is it?
2. See 1 above
3. Not usually - if you take good care of your cars you shouldn't have problems at lease turn in
4. Set by dealership
5. Nope
6. dealer fee, bank fee, tire fee, etc. could be anything; just be vigilant when reviewing the paperwork
7. MF is the money factor, similar to an interest rate when buying. residual is the percentage of MSRP that the bank thinks the car will be worth at the end of the lease.

Just got a Jetta SE with conn and Nav...0 money down, 288 a month
36/12 lease with lease wear and tear and term care select (didn't want this but was ok since they lowered he tax rate and saved me over $1,000) so it paid for itself.

Shopping for a 2015 Jetta TDI SEL (manual)

Went to the dealership for the first time today to talk initial numbers and this is what I got so far...

MSRP $28,300
Cap Cost: $27,500
Terms: 36m/12k
Monthly Payment with tax(LI, New York): $346 includes $675 Aq. Fee

Total out of pocket: first month payment ($346) plus DMV transfer fee

Trying to see if this is a good deal, he was kinda hard set that it was, but might be able to shave off $10/month if I was very serious and about to sign.

My question is: Is the July Res/MF 59%/.00001 AND Does $346 make sense with that net cap cost?

You need about $1200 more dollars to add up to $346/mo. Tax is about $900, so we are pretty close. If that CAP cost includes the acquisition fee, then that's a little better than the advertised deal. Not too bad.

Lease numbers are .00010 and 53% for TSI SEL 36/12. Don't negotiate the payment, negotiate the lowest selling price. That will keep the payment reasonable.

Get a full breakdown of the $2300 - does that include tax?

Hello, some questions about this leasing. The VW official website has this deal "239/month after $1,000 Volkswagen Bonus. 36-month lease. $2,199 due at signing." So, does it mean that's the lowest I can approach? And also what's the 2199 due at signing means? Is it just down payment? Because I know it's not tax, title, and other doc fees.

The $2199 in the national offer is all down payment. We do not recommend making a down payment on a lease. If the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Just some update, so far the best i got is $335mo with 630 out of pocket. ( first month payment and DMV fee) And there was some dealer mentioned that lease excess wear protection and term care select.

The parts i don't understand are Headlamp Coverage, Belt & Hose Coverage ( covers the replacement of engine belts and hoses during the term of the contract), Electrical Coverage (covers Fuses, interior and exterior light bulbs including turn signal bulbs, engine compartment lights, running lights, fog lights, stop lights, backup lights, license plate lights, parking lights, trunk light, dome light, courtesy light, visor light, map light, and glove box light.) Shouldn't those stuffs be under new car 3yrs bumper to bumper warranty? I am switching from TOYOTA to VW, that optional warranty just doesn't make any sense!!

Do i misunderstand something or VW new car is not reliable at all ?

Those add ons are a way for the dealer to make more money. You should not need to use any of those in the 3 year lease term.

And yes, most of those should be covered by the warranty.

Might be time to work with another dealer.

I am still looking around my neighborhood, hunting the best deal, I guess I am very close to the solid bottom. But there is a question, they all asked that I have to pick up the car before July 31st, I understand it's probably because this is a July-only sale event. But my question is I won't be in US next month, it's any possible I can ask them keep the deal until August 20th, or the deal will last till they sell all of 2015 models.

The terms of the lease deals are set to expire on 7/31, so if you don't sign a contract before then, you'll have to use the August numbers - which could be better or worse.

The S and SE have the same numbers ... 51% residual for 36/15 and .00010 MF. S has $750 lease cash; SE has $500 lease cash.

I don't track transaction prices; you can use the pricing tools here at Edmunds to help you (make / model / year pull downs at the top of the page).

For the Jetta, .00010 is the base MF (3 zeros). If they are quoting .00100 (2 zeros), tell them politely that you won't sign a deal with a marked up MF. They know what the base rate is.

And reach out to another VW dealer.

.00010 and 58% for 36/10 on the GLI. Using your MSRP and net cap, I get a payment of $346/mo with tax. So, about $1000 too much. Not bad, but you'll know to research better on your next lease.
