Just do ED and you'll save thousands off msrp.
Well maybe $2300? All the ED does it give it at invoice rate, right?

Hard to beat the ED invoice price +1000.
Someone mentioned only 2300 off? Uh, dude, I did up a 330i with metallic, park distance, sp and leather. Sticker is almost 41k. ED invoice price plus $1000 dealer profit = 36k (including shipping/handling). Maybe it's me but that looks like a $5k difference?
Regarding Ed, a savings of $5k? Holy moly!
So I assume for a 325i it might be at least $4k.
Thanks for everyones info.

How about easy to read pdfs then?
It is a 36-month term with 12,000 miles a year. I did this over the web and I sent another e-mail asking what the rate should be for a 24 month lease. The dealer responded that he would like to discuss any other options in person. Should this raise a red flag (i.e., bait and switch?) or should I go along with it. Also, based on the numbers I have given, what should payments on a 24-month lease be?
thanks again!
05 330i
6 speed manual (one of the rare!)
Silvery Grey Metallic
Performance Package
Xenon Headlamps
MSRP: $41,470
I have two dealers working on this car right now, the best offer is currently at $35,330 plus tax and license. I think I can get them down a bit more since they are competing.
2 questions:
a) is this a good deal
b) what is the lowest finance rate that bmw will offer? i don't think there is a promotional rate as of right now.
any help would be apppreciated. Thank you.
sorry, silver grey metallic
I just bought a 325i that MSRPed at $34,215 for $31k flat. I thought I could have got a better deal if I was willing to drive 100 miles to Pittsburgh, but my local dealer will pick up my car for servicing and leave me a BMW to drive while they have it, and they treated me very nice.
After we were all done negotiating and they were writing up the deal, they asked if I wanted carpeted or rubber floor mats. I didn't even ask.
2025 Forester Limited, 2024 Subaru Legacy Sport
MSRP 32245
My Price 29000+ Sales tax
I was considering waiting on an E90 but this deal was too good to let go
2025 Forester Limited, 2024 Subaru Legacy Sport
I ended up buying them off the web through the same dealership 'cause the salesman wouldn't even give me a discount on them to the web price.
I'm still not happy about that one.......
MSRP should be 35,045 and Invoice should be 31,825. With the current incentive (until the end of March) that would take MSRP to 32,545. At that price the dealer is making $720.
Anything you can get knocked off that price would be good.
I've seen where people are saying the dealers just want to get rid of the '05s. That hasn't been my experience at all. I guess it depends on what part of the country you are from.
I checked with 5 different dealers in two states and they aren't happy to let them go.
Hopefully your mileage will vary.
2025 Forester Limited, 2024 Subaru Legacy Sport
silver grey metallic, performance pkg, sport pkg, automatic, and heated seats. $ 30,950 which I felt was more than acceptable considering the deal took only 30 minutes with the salesman. Then I left for a meeting, came back and spent 1 hr total with f+I and delivery.
Sterling was very reasonable and low pressure.
Thoughts?
2. Look at the PDF I posted. It clearly shows the wholesale ED price. That's the starting point. Add your features, add shipping and handling (695) and add 1000-1200 for dealer profit. Assemble all that and find a dealer who will meet your price.
Invoice is 32,400...subract the 2500 incentive and add $400 dealer profit. In essence, shoot for deal around 30,400. anything over 31k on that car and the dealer is making out like a bandit on a car that's now defunct (e90s are on the way).
DL
Black leather
Automatic transmission
Cold weather package
Premium package
Multi-function wheel
Xenon headlights?
Harman Kardon sound system (I think this is a standard feature, though)
I found this as an online listing and would like to make an offer tomorrow. While the asking price is $43,795, I configured something similar online at the BMW site (minus the H-K sound and multi-function wheels) and found that it is also the MSRP. Also, are dealers typically open to "throwing in" small accessories like floormats? Any other suggestions when submitting an offer via fax/e-mail?
Thanks for your feedback!
I wanted a lease of 36 months and 15k he gave me a rate of $532 a month and that includes 5% mass sales tax. He said drive off was $767, so I'm assuming the bank fee is rolled into the payment and no security and just first month TTL. Is this a good deal? I know the total cap price is very good but are the lease rates?
$6500-$7000 off MSRP would be a good deal... $6000 off MSRP should be the maximum you should pay...
HK and multi-function wheel are standard..

The only way I can come up with his payment is to make it a 3yr/30K lease...
So, if you can get that deal, better grab it.

Now, since they aren't changing the coupe, I guess they could start calling them '06 models at any time...
So, maybe they will stop taking orders for '05 coupes soon... Beats me...

I still have that question: any thoughts on April incentives? I see massive advertising campaigns for the Lexus GS and Infiniti G35 and Ms; few ads in L.A. for BMW. Any inverse correlation between US Dollar being a bit stronger against the Euro and providing more incentives, especially for a phase-out model?
By the way, the reason for the additional test drive today was fear of lack of headroom. I am 5'11 and no question, with the sunroof, the seating is a bit awkward with respect to the steering wheel position in order to avoid brushing one's hair on the ceiling. Anyone 6' tall or greater should NOT get a 3 series, IMO. I am going to do one more check on that seating and will cancel my order if the steering wheel cannot be adjusted to suit my body type. I just don't get it---how could they not permit more angular movement in the steering for an average-sized male. I would be rather upset, after investing all of this time if my head touches the ceiling and I really didn't pay attention. But that's why you need to test drive a car you've never owned (I had five Lexus's previous) more than once. You veteran BMW owners know what to expect.
I am new to this forum and it has been great help just in the last 1 week that I have started reading this.
Tomorrow, I am ordering a BMW 330ci convertible for ED (delivery on May 3rd) The options are:
- Auto
- Mystic Blue metallic paint
- Xenons
- Heated seats
- Sports package
I offered $1000 above the ED invoice and the dealer agreed, without any haggling! (It comes to $42,995) Based on the posts and otherwise, it seemed a very good deal to me. I have few questions:
- Is this really a good deal? Was offering $1000 above invoice a bad idea? Or most people do better than this on ED?
- I basically want to have this car with me for 4-5 yrs. I always had thought, buying is cheaper than leasing. Will it be true in this case? (I will finance the car through my home equity loan at net effective 4% interest rate)Can someone help and give me a quick shot at possible leasing numbers? (I am in northern California and tax is 8.25% - I guess) If there is some numbers break-up- I can do my own calcualtions too - it's just that my leasing knowledge is poor so far.
- I have indicated to the sales person that I will do my own financing. Do you think, he would now be unwilling/uninspired to do a good leasing deal? I would imagine that he shouldn't care if I finance or lease (as long as the price is same).
- Is there a special advantage or disadvantage of combining leasing and ED?
I would really appreciate any insight into my questions/thoughts.
1) You can lease a convertible fairly cheaply, because of the high residuals..
2) I'd look for a standard car loan... You can probably find something under 5% without too much trouble.. HELOCs are great, but the interest rate could be two points higher within a couple years, negating the tax advantages...
3) With a sedan or coupe that has big lease incentives, I usually think that is the way to go, but the convertibles hold their value so well, that I don't really see any great need to lease.. Especially, if you are a low-mile convertible driver... Say, 8K/yr or less.. You can probably do just as well buying it.
Also, you want to keep the car 4-5 years.. Leasing might not have any particular advantage for you..
4) The same advantages you get from buying ED apply to leasing ED... the lower upfront price results in a low lease payment..
5) Be sure and get a competitive car loan quote from your credit union or bank.. and, it is possible that the dealer may be able to beat it..

3yr/36K lease payment would be $526/mo including tax..
Due at signing: 1st payment, security deposit, license and title fees.. Probably $1200-1400 total.
If you even think you might lease, ask the dealer to lock in the lease rates for March.. If you are scheduled for pickup in May, you can use either the March or May lease rates, whichever is better..
The payment I quoted is only good if they use the base money factor of .0018, 63% residual, and base acquisition fee of $625 (which is rolled into the payment).

In regards to your statement "Anyone 6' tall or greater should NOT get a 3 series": I'm 6'3" and I have plenty of headroom in the 3er. I'm able to adjust the wheel and seat to accomodate my size without a problem. I understand that everyone is different and that seating position and comfort are subjective attributes. If you are not comfortable in the car, that's totally up to you. But to say anyone over 6' shouldn't get this car is a bit on the ridiculous side.
It sounds like you are having more trouble with the steering wheel position than the actual headroom..
I'm 6', and I find that I have plenty of legroom and headroom.. I also don't have any trouble with the steering wheel position, but I could see how others might..
