Question: Is there any evidence that the CR-V's that are built in Japan are of a better quality than those built in the U.S.?
$24,992.58
Yea, baby!!

As part of the Pre-Delivery Inspection the cars have to be driven long enough to make sure everything is as it should be.
this usually takes about 5-6 miles of driving to accomplish.
$24,956 base price (includes destination)
$115 front splash guards & wheek locks (pre-installed)
$150 doc fee
----------------
$25,221 b/4 TTL
Invoice price is $25,457. If I subtract $73 for what I could have paid for the accessories on-line, I paid $25,148, or $309 below invoice.
The dealer quoted the base vehicle price on their first email quote to me, which got my attention. In the showroom, they lowered the accessories from an original $300 to $115 pretty easily, but wouldn't budge on the doc fee.
I'm new to the forum and interested in buying the above model. I never bought a car through a dealer before so I need all the help I can get. Any Angelinos out there willing to share their experience and advise me on what I should expect to pay? I'm getting quotes left and right so it's hard to get an idea on what a good deal would be. Also, if anyone is interested in buying a similar model I'm planning to take the plunge next weekend...why not go together and get an even better deal. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hope this helps all future V buyers! I know this forum helped me SO MUCH, so I had to return the favor. Thanks again all.
Forgot to mention that the dealership itself was a no-hassle and great customer service. I was very impressed with their service compared to other Bay Area dealers. Quick, painless and made me feel good about my purchase.

Can anyone tell me what they paid recently for this vehicle?
Thanks in advance.
Also they tried offering me a really low price on my trade, and he backed it up with a comparison price which he'd found on the net and printed out. However the price he showed me was for a Focus SE. and not a Focus SES which I have. He thought I'd not spotted it as he tried to keep his thumb over the word and got real snitty' when I pointed it out to him and told him that if he had given me the SES price it would have been more in line with what I wanted (in relation to what the SE price was) As you can imagine I walked out! When I do buy I think it will be from either San Leandro or Dublin Honda as they didn't treat me like a idiot. Although now retired, I've been in the 'car game! for most of my life and am aware of the ploys/tricks/stunts that desperate salesmen will pull to brow beat you into a sale!. But of course! they don't know that. Hah! Hah! Hah! ...............

I'm waiting to see how deep the recession bites! before buying a new vehicle and I am spending the time (until then) fishing' for a good deal. I'd hate to go for 'my best deal' only to see a better one on this site a short time later!. I'm not on this planet to feed the fat face of some c.e.o. crook of a car dealership.
Many car dealerships have 'mob' money behind them as it is a lucrative business to get into. ( or are you going to tell me that when you go to Vegas and spend money gambling that none of it ends up in the pockets of the mob!, come on! open your eyes up!)
America is built on three things! graft! greed! and corruption! (and I am sorry for it!) and one must tread a path between all three if you are basically an honest person. You only have to look at our politicians and how they make their money, to see how this country of ours! works.
Anyway enough said!. a free market will find its own level; vehicles are overpriced to start with. Remember they will charge what you willing to pay! That is what this site is all about' finding and reporting the best deal' (per sae).
Have a good day. Martin.
I just turned 60 and was looking forward to having a CR-V as a birthday gift for myself, but I'll wait a few more months.

Yes! I'd wait until the fall and see what offers come from Honda or your local dealerships. Do some fishing! like i do!, and learn from the verbal input when you get into it with the sales guy. Don't buy however!. just see what they will go too! and learn from each encounter. Be 'thick skinned', do not get upset, when you are insulted! It will be hard. Go by yourself, they will see you as a 'easy mark' to be worked. whatever you do DO NOT BUY! Be firm, but polite. You can always get out of a deal they are trying to pressure you into by saying "I must run it by my husband, he holds the purse strings! I'll be back!".
Keep track of the used value of your Pilot with the various guides i.e. Kelly's, Black Book and NADA etc. which you can find on the computer, and remember! the low price the dealer will offer you on the Pilot. You are not going to get as much as you think for it (I hate to say) because of the gas crisis. So do your best to sell it privately,A.S.A.P. even hire a cheap car to see you mobile until you see a CR-v deal you think is the one for you in the fall.
In spite of all this! if a factory discount or whatever! does not come about in the Autumn and you have to pay invoice! (no more!) be aware that the Honda has a low depreciation value which will hold you in stead for when you come to sell it in a few years time which will be some consolation.

Just wanted to report a recent purchase of a Black / Black 2008 EX-L / Non Nav outside Philadelphia.
Had a great experience at Keenan Honda in Doylestown.
Delivered the car on time as promised ! Very pleasant experience !
Final Price
$25,455.00 Including Destination, before TTL
No surprises with fees or added charges. No pressure for add ons
Got 4.39 financing from Honda based upon FICO score.
Overall a great experience.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to the forum as it was key to making this a successful purchase.
And you said the same thing, so we're in agreement
Please how do you suggest doing this: "even hire a cheap car to see you mobile until you see a CR-v deal"
which is a great idea!!!
Thanks for suggesting it.
thanks
Sounds like this dealer called your bluff, and when you folded, he knew he could do whatever he wanted.
You don't seem to be the type of a customer a straight shooter would enjoy dealing with.
Not a great idea. Weekly rental of a bottom-feeder subcompact will be at least $150, i.e. considerably more than a new car payment on a per-week basis. How many weeks or months of doing this will it take before the savings between the good CR-V deal you could get right now, and the elusive "killer" deal you're hoping to get, are wiped out? Not many. And in the meanwhile, you're driving a POS subcompact instead of enjoying your new CR-V.
I love my crv
what did you pay? did you get awd or fwd w/ nav?
I'm new to this forum and interested in buying 2008 Honda CRV EX 4WD. I never bought a car through a dealer before so I really need all the help I can get. I live in Rochester,NY. Anyone from Rochester,NY willing to advise me on what I should expect to pay Out the door?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Thx
I understand that this color combination is hard to come by; I have a lead for anyone interested.
Price = $27,500.16 (may be negotiable)
Thanks, Trin
So far the best I have is $27,300 for AWD EX-L WITH Navigation. (Plus tax and dmv/title). This is from Atlantic Honda in Bayshore. I think I can get it a little lower when I actually go into the dealership w/ a check. I am waiting until the end of the month, when my leased car has to be returned.
