And no I don't burn rubber or drive like a maniac. Although I may have lead foot. No excuse.
Pressure is fine on the tires but the tire warning lights are still on.
While I've only had the Armada less than a week and about 275 miles, I've taken out the rough end of the road a couple times with no shakes or rattles, other than my keys and Kubaton key holder holder banging against the dash. Have also taken it on some rough paved roads, hit a few pot holes and no problems.
This weekend, will take it to the GW National Forest and give it a real off road test. Have to be careful as my SO has threatened me with all kinds of bad things if I scratch it. But, I think I can find plenty of bumps, some lose gravel, a few rocks, and likely some mud to give it a nice test. No rock crawling or anything like that. Unfortunately, the Forest Service has closed some roads that used to be my favorites. Guess the trucks were doing too much damage to them.

I'll let you all know how it goes. My Armada goes in for the fix on May 29th.
Update: I have to have all four window regulators replaced as well as the rear cargo window weather seal and my front passenger seatback. While I am grateful to not dish out a penny for rentals or repairs, having the dealer in the shop four times in three months is too much. Every fix seems to bring out another problem, and I'm not that picky of a customer... I haven't reported the mildew smell coming from my AC nor the flexing noise I hear every turn.
Sounds like your dealer is being dishonest. At the very least, it seems to me they would have to acknowledge that Nissan has issued a TSB as evidenced by the one for the QX56. They're the same vehicle!
Sorry you're having so much trouble. My Armada really has been great and the problems have been minor, save the resonance.
For some reason the key-fob does not activate the seat/mirror memory. If I push the 1 or 2 button on the driver's door the seat and mirrors will move to the correct position.
I also noticed that the backlight on the radio does not dim when you turn on the headlights. It used to even when the headlights are in auto mode.
Are these related? Any ideas what these could be?
Chris
the backlighting is set with the interior lighting controls.
it also has the easy entry/exit function. you arent confusing the 2 are you?
On the other hand I have had problems with the buttons on the door.. Sometimes I hit the button and it does nothing. Then I try to manually adjust it and it will allow the seat to adjust up and down, but not forward/back and won't allow the seat back to adjust... I shut the car off an turn back on and it works fine. I was wondering if it is a safety thing so you can adjust while driving???
I think potential buyers should test drive a vehicle and make their own decision. They should certainly drive fast enough and on enough terrains to see if the vehicle has a resonance problem, and then decide if it is right for them.

Looks like my first non-maintence trip to the dealer.
I have 3600 miles on my baby. Her steering and suspension ( <- mainly ) seems to have loosened up. A lot. By no means am I complaining - she has become much more controllable (not that she wasn't to begin with) and her ride has become even more comfortable. Is this typical for new vehicles?
Looks like Nissan finally released the TSB for the Armada. The one for the QX56 came out last week- I noticed today at nissan-techinfo.com there is one for the Armada. Requires a viewing subscription to view it. It's different from the QX56 as it describes "dovetail wedges" Perhaps the "parts" you guys have been asking about? Anyway..looks like we're on our way to a fix.
I am asking fellow Armada owners who have GPS Nav's if you are having any problems? As in GPS constantly disconnecting and the display going "Stupid" It's been to the shop 3 times and each time they try to fix it. The most annoying this is that the clock is driven by the GPS receiver and when it goes off line so does the clock.
First Time I took it in, one of the Techs actually told me "Well maybe you are in a weak signal area". I nearly lost my cool and reminded him that with the exception of Nuke Power Plants and Military Bases, GPS is basically the same world over. I live in South Florida so Mountains are not an issue.
Anyway anyone else having this problem, if so, any fixes from you dealership to pass on?
Mine doesn't rattle, it makes a sound that reminds me of metal straining or plastic rubbing on metal. This happens while I turn, change lanes, etc. I have failed to mention this to my local dealership, mainly on account of hearing a TSB for it. I think that was a misunderstanding, but is anyone else having this issue?
On a better note, I'm up to about 12-13MPG! Good thing since I'm paying the same for 87 oct. that I would have payed for 93 oct. half a year ago...
Anyone have a rough idea when mine would be produced and delivered?
I did take a chance without all four skid plates (two are on order), but figured the transfer case could take some jolts and the gas tank was far enough out of the way. I did hit something on the bottom at least 3 times, but my later view under it detected no damage, or even serious scrapes. After over 2 hours of 5 mph travel and many stops to check out the road, we finally came to the end and took the paved road back to the interstate. MPG off road in four wheel drive was about 7 mpg.
Later, I took it on another FS road that was smoother but had many humps that make it drain properly. We went over the humps at 20 mph and the suspension did its thing very well. In my 98 4Runner, my head might have been hitting the roof along with a strong pull on the seat belt. I'm sure the Forest Service would have recommended 10-15 mph although there's no posted speed.
I have nothing but praise for the "beast". It continues to get just about 14 mpg with about 600 miles on it.
Having driven off road with 4Runners or Toyota trucks for the past 25 years, I can say that the "beast" is a fully qualified as an off road vehicle. 81 Trekker
My wife and I looked at a few of the other full size SUVs and this is why I went with the Armada. Sequoia is on the smaller end of the full-size SUVs and the third row does not fold flat. Not very comfortable. Driving was a little loose as well. Too bad, this was the early season favorite. Next.
Expedition. The truck was plain, with no great features. What do you expect, it's a Ford. It did have the automatic fold flat third row (which takes forever), but it was the prototypical full-size SUV. Drove like a truck which some people like, but my tiny wife will be the primary driver and I want something she can handle. Seems like everyone has one. Tough choice, but we passed.
Navigator. Who you fooling. SAME TRUCK AS EXPEDITION only $15k more. It does have more bells and whistles, don't get me wrong, but you will be buying this truck primarily to say you drive a "Navigator", nothing else. Moving on.
Escalade. Upper end of our range and couldn't justify on why I would pay so much for this truck. Third row does not fold flat, which is a huge feature for when traveling with kids. Would love to say I drive a "Caddy", but not for $60k, which is 50% more then most other full-size SUVs.
Armada. Design is funky, but different. Either love it or hate it. Friends have actually confessed to us that it has "grown" on them. One friend actually bought one after driving ours. I already own a Maxima, and I feel I should not worry about lack of quality for first V8 and first year model. VERY BIG and handles great. Tuning radius is ridiculously great, pickup is extraordinary (I think 0-60 in 7.2s).
I took the plunge back in January and never looked back. Have made numerous road trips in it, and no noise. This truck is an absolute monster, and it is different looking. I usually have buyers remorse, but not this time. It is bigger, faster, handles better, third row folds flat and more back seat leg room then the others, so I don't see why you wouldn't get this truck. Do yourself a favor, save yourself some time and get this truck....listen to Uncle Coconutz.
I agree that a Navigator may not be worth a $15k premium over an Expedition, but to say they're the same is inheresntly incorrect.
The expy/gator relationship is very similar to the Lexus Lx470/Toyota Land cruiser... Toyota 4runner/Lexus Gx 470..Denali/Escalade..Armada/Infiniti Qx56...etc, etc... all similar vehicles with different features, attributes, AND prices.

makes it easier for her to get into the truck.
When comparing it with others, also look at what you get in the basic vehicle like the backup sensors. Others charge you additional for these extras.
We took it on a day trip involving six hours of driving and she commented that it was the most comfortable vehicle we have had recently for trips. Like yours, it makes no strange noises. (It was made the first of March which may mean some of the earlier problems were correct.) I suspect we got much better gas mileage today than the usual 14+mpg. However, she had to sit outside Cabelas with the GSD with the A/C running for over an hour waiting for me to purchase a new pair of summer hiking boots. When I did calculate the mileage, it was over 15mpg for the trip getting there, including the idling time. Now has about 800 miles on it.

Personally, I've dealt with Lexus and Lincoln primarily and they both seem on par with each other. I'm sorry you've had such a poor Lincoln dealer experience. It's funny though, because I used to have a Ford Explorer and that service department was downright gross -- from attitude to aesthetics. I'm sure there are much better Ford dealers out there, I just ended up with a stinker.
My Lincoln dealer always gives me lux loaners (even for small maintenance jobs if they have cars available) and bend over backwards to help. They still screw up at times but overall I'm happy. Also, though I love my Navi I've had my share of minor issues with it, but overall I really enjoy the truck.
Anyways, I don't want to hijack the thread with talk about non-nissan armada stuff so I'm shutting up now
Article dogs Nissans Canton Plant...
Does anyone know what changed? I'm assuming it was the platinum/silver dash.
Neighbor of mine has been putting them in most of his vehicles and he says provides 1-2 mpg increase.
My thoughts were that the resonance was possibly a little overblown....however, it appears it is a real problem.
Nissan was able to overcome the problems in their Tennessee plant, I hope they can do the same thing for the Mississippi plant.
I love the looks of the Armada, but I'm going to let the problems shake out before plunking down 40 Large for a new SUV.
I would be interested to hear from some of you at Nissan dealers to hear how the negative press is affecting your sales. Are customers bringing these issues up in the shopping process.
Mike
Anyway, started on front pass., ended on front driver. All three first worked great, look exellent. Tried to roll up the driver front window, it popped and rolled down somewhat. It has done this before (two other times, both "fixed") so I just did the auto-roll back up. In the middle, and too late, I noticed that the window was IN FRONT of the weather seal!! My local dealer put my window on wrong for the THIRD time in THREE months. Needless to say, I heard a crack and noticed that part of my brand new $100 visor set had broken off because the window was placed on the OUTSIDE of the weather seal.
Someone tell me, is it typical for a brand new vehicle to be in the shop 5 times in 3 months? because I'm on my sixth now, not including another planned trip to replace all window regulators, a front seatback, and the weather seal in the cargo area which has caused a slight leak.
I'm very close to regretting spending cash on her... Anyone know anything about buyback procedures?
