    It's a 24 degree angle.
  • bmwdougbmwdoug Member Posts: 248
Bowke and importfan thanks for the information. Importfan are you sure it is a 24 degree angle? The Toyota Tundra Double Cab is a 24 degree angle. I sat in Double Cab Tundra yesterday, and it felt a lot better then the F150. I need to sit in the back again to make a final judgement about the 24 degree angle.

Bowke, do you know if the 24 degree angle is correct? How does that compare with the setback in the Armada or typical sedan? Also, when you sat in the rear seat of the Titan, how did it feel to you? Bowke, if Nissan got the rear seat right, meaning a comfortable ride in the back, they hit a GRAND SLAM, and the Titan will be the greatest 1/2 truck ever built.

i dont know the angles, and even out training info. on sedans and such dont list the rear seat angle. i can tell you, however, that the angle is more reclined than the f150. ill have to get more info. for you next week at sales training.

BTW, doug...since it will be the greatest 1/2 ton truck ever built...does that mean you will pay MSRP? ;-)
  • bmwdougbmwdoug Member Posts: 248
Bowke, you got me there.:) Hey, if the Titan has a rear seat that gives an "actual comfortable" ride, I would be willing to lay out some extra cash to buy that type of Truck. Now, that is saying a lot!! :)
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
unfortunately, its not likely that doug would buy from me...lol.
  • bmwdougbmwdoug Member Posts: 248
Bowke, I would buy from you if you cut me a deal!! :) LOL Thanks for the information on the Titan, please keep us all informed about the Titan status. I am really looking forward to seeing this Truck. I hope everything I am hearing about it is true, because; WOW, what a TRUCK!!
  • jake696jake696 Member Posts: 111
It can be done. Don't that those dealers give you the high hard one.
  • bmwdougbmwdoug Member Posts: 248
Jake, no question deals can be had. It has been proven over and over on this board. Check out the Armada posts, people are already buying the new Armada for $750 to $1500 over INVOICE. I was just making a point that the Titan could be well worth every penny spent if all the current information turns out to be true.
  • importfan14importfan14 Member Posts: 18
about the 24 degree seatback angle. It should be about as good as any other sedan.
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
    you just said....;-)
  • bmwdougbmwdoug Member Posts: 248
Bowke, you are a hard working salesman. I have no doubt you are good at what you do. I bet you enjoy the bargaining process. ;) I believe you try to inform your clients about every detail involving their vehicles. You have been a BIG help on this board. I sincerely appreciate your willingness share information about the Titan.

I hope importfan is right about the Titan's rear seat being as comfortable as most sedans.
  • jake696jake696 Member Posts: 111
bmwdoug...Just making a point about not paying MSRP. Anybody...(even if you don't like to haggle), oughta be able to get 1500.oo off.

Let me know when they start making a real p/u with a long-bed on it. I don't need dualies, an 8 Liter block, or a need to pull 15K at high altitudes...just a long-bed. -I know, I'm weird and different and going upstream from the market trends.
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
come on in and try!!! ;-)
  • bmwdougbmwdoug Member Posts: 248
Jake I agree with what you are saying. Scroll through some posts from September, October of 2003, and you will see quite a few from me stating not to pay MSRP. And, that deals can be made from $750+ over invoice.

Now, back to theTitan. I am still waiting to see one in person. I can't wait to see how they did the rear seat.

what part of the country are you in?

our 1st titan is slated to arrive 11/28. its always a 3-day window, so 11/27-12/1 is also a possibility. ill keep you posted.

Are you in the Southern U.S.?

I read that the areas nearest the plant will receive the early deliveries.

Are you expecting Club Cabs only? - or Crew Cabs as well?
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
sometimes considered midwest, sometimes considered south.

i dont know what was ordered exactly, but if i did, and i told you, my post would be deleted anyway...lol.

A few months back, the word was reported that the Club Cabs would arrive on dealer lots first (November?) and the Crew Cabs would show up in early December...

I wonder if any Crew Cabs will show up before next year now...

These prices are from a post on Car and Driver. I hope they are authentic. Maybe, somebody can verify them. If these prices are correct, Nissan is being very smart. These prices will allow people to give this truck a try.
Prices for the 2004 Nissan Titan King Cab models are:
    ·Titan King Cab XE 4x2 $22,400
    ·Titan King Cab SE 4x2 $24,400
    ·Titan King Cab LE 4x2 $28,800
    ·Titan King Cab XE 4x4 $25,500
    ·Titan King Cab SE 4x4 $27,500
    ·Titan King Cab LE 4x4 $31,900
Prices for the 2004 Nissan Titan Crew Cab models are:
    ·Titan Crew Cab XE 4x2 $25,100
    ·Titan Crew Cab SE 4x2 $26,700
    ·Titan Crew Cab LE 4x2 $31,100
    ·Titan Crew Cab XE 4x4 $28,200
    ·Titan Crew Cab SE 4x4 $29,800
    ·Titan Crew Cab LE 4x4 $34,200

those may be correct, but take into account options and destination before everyone gets too excited...lol.
  • jwilli420jwilli420 Member Posts: 22
By order of Nissan, NO dealer is allowed to even show a Titan before December 1st, so it really doesn't matter who get early allocations. Of course, there will likely be a few thudheads who will violate this, but generally this is the case.
From someone other than what the post says...

This truck blows the new Ford F150 AWAY! First of all you can actually sit in the back seat comfortably. My kids will love it. The five speed transmission is incredible! The Ford F150
doesn't even compare. The sprayed in bed liner
looks great and the track system in the bed is very innovative. On my test drive a '04 F150 pulled up beside me and I floored it and left him standing still. The salesman was holding on for dear life! Great sound system! The looks are definetly better in person than the magazine pics.
Little things like the dead peddle for the driver,
cup holders everywhere, comfortable arm rests and easy access controls make this a great truck! Ford better be worried. Nissan just beat them!
    Wait and buy this truck.
  • jwilli420jwilli420 Member Posts: 22
Were did you test drive this vehicle and was it a prototype, because nissan is pretty clear that no dealer can show the titan until the first. They don;t want any dealers to have an unfair advantage
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
as much as i enjoy rave reviews about my product, i dont like it when people lie. now, if you are a salesman, and you did this at a ride and drive, please admit it. im a salesman, and im going to it on thursday in nashville.

jwilli is right. there was a blanket email sent to all GSMs of nissan dealers stating that anyone advertising, showing, or otherwise promoting the titan before december 1st will be fined from Nissan.

please either retract your post or clarify your status.

When it's so gosh darn UGG-LEE.

From the outside it looks like a cost cutting mobile. Hardly any stamping on the fenders; just holes cut out for the wheels. The interior is cheap and nothing to write home about.

Titan may win in 0-60, but the F-150 has superior mechanicals all around.
  • dustykdustyk Member Posts: 2,926
Now maybe the previous poster is the victim of enthusiasm, or maybe it was an outright lie. But how do you know that the F150 mechanicals are "superior?" Have you inspected a Titan yet?

I wanted very much to buy a domestic Crewcab Truck. I looked at the F150. Yes, the looks are great. But, that is where it ends. The rear seat is straight as a board against the back. If you had rear seat passengers as I will, their backs will be in great pain within about 30 minutes. Ford flat out blew it on rear seat comfort. Go sit in the back of a Toyota Tundra, and you will see how a rear seat in a Crewcab should be designed. Now, hopefully, Nissan got this right.

Furthermore, Ford made a big blunder by not offering side airbags. It is 2004, to not offer side airbags in 2004 is inexcusable. Nissan offers side airbags and curtain airbags. For a truck that was suppossed to set the standard, the F150 comes up very short. Perhaps that is why it is not winning any awards, whereas the awards for the Titan are starting to mount.

Go to this Nissan site for all MSRP prices and packages offered for the Titan. Nissan has them posted. I wish they offered a nav package on the SE model.

I agree with everything you said.

i would assume, based on your screen name, that you have to be rather intelligent to be in the pre-med program at cornell. my question is this: are you giving that intellect a rest on here?

Please remember that a recent study indicated that U.S. doctors kill more Americans than are killed by car accidents, criminal misuse of guns, suicides, and drownings put together.

im just trying to keep it factual...the titan isnt out yet, and people are trying to boost their weak ego by lying about being the 1st to drive it. THOSE are posts that should be deleted.
  • jwilli420jwilli420 Member Posts: 22
i saw somebody driving a titan, and it was during my test drive in The Ferrari Enzo. I pulled up to a Bentley continental GT and blew the doors off it.
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
but those are already out. oh well...guess ill just get back into the 2005 mustang i bought yesterday....
  • barlitzbarlitz Member Posts: 752
I worked a show where they had a titan ride and drive for a week, they had all their sales reps from the northeast and they would teach them sales strategies and compare them vs other pickups, the titan did blunder in a few of them compared to the other trucks, including brakes locking up and sliding through a stop sign and also not being able to drive out of a pile of gravel in 4 wheel drive.
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
every manufacturer does a ride and drive with new products. im going to the one in nashville on thursday.
  • steveb84steveb84 Member Posts: 187
Yes, I'm a Toyota guy, but just curious about what the rear seat angle is on the new Titan.

    Thanks for your help.
  • keaneckeanec Member Posts: 349
Everything I have seen shows the seatback angle at 24. The impressions i have read said the Titan CC has the most comfortable rear seating area. That said, I don't think anybody has actually sat in a Titan and then a Tundra, so those comparisons were probably with the domestics. I was interested in the new Tundra but for some reason it is onlt a five seater! Even though they have made it bigger, it still can only fit 5 passengers just like my Frontier! Not worth the upgrade!
  • steveb84steveb84 Member Posts: 187
I too wish the Tundra came with a front bench.

The Titan, Tundra DC, and New F-150 will sure be changing the make-up of the full size truck battles.

I have the 2004 Selling Titan product guide from the ride and drive we did at my work. It does not mention anything about seat angles in it.It does have a nice rear door feature though, they open all the way where they can touch the rear bed.It also says rear bench is contoured to provide seating for three passengers.
  • keaneckeanec Member Posts: 349
You seem to be describing the King Cab. I think it is the crew cab we were discussing.
  • rivestrivest Member Posts: 10
I have not read anything to indicate that this truck has an external transmission cooler on it. Doesn't even metion it on the optional Tow package. You would think it has to have one. Anyone have any info?
  • bowke28bowke28 Member Posts: 2,185
i also attended the ride and drive yesterday, and the tranny cooler and oil cooler is STANDARD on all titans. if you get the big tow package, you get a tranny oil temp. guage.
