I just bought the Limited 4Runner, 4WD, V6. There is NO option that has NOT been added to the vehicle. It has everything. I bought it used with 9971 miles on it. A guy had turned it in after family problems. I got it for $34,495. Was this a good deal? (Please tell me yes!) First time I've financed a car.

My dealer preference ordered my 4Runner on October 28, 2003. I took delivery Dec. 3rd, so the wait was about 5 weeks. I'm sure availability is based on supply and demand.

My dealer is in Southern New Jersey.

Vehicle: 2004 White V8 Limited with all the options. It was worth waiting for!!

    Hello,
Would anyone please post a copy of a typical "Sales agreement" on the order of your Toyota 4 Runner. I am interested in what it contains and I believe a lot of other potential buyers are interested too.

I was able to go as low as 200 over invoice at Lou Fusz while others where quite a bit over. Seeger also would do 200 over, but don't take trade-ins (at least mine)

I bought a new 4runner 6 months ago and just thought I would throw my 2 cents in after 6 months of ownership. I paid very close to dealer invoice, but I am sure now someone could get below invoice price. Check all incintives and rebates! I would recommend getting a bottom price on the internet, and then going to your local dealer for a price match. Once they see you are educated about prices they will not waste your time.

I really enjoy my vehicle, but after 6 months of ownership I would like to recommend some features that I wish I had on the vehicle. I am over 6 feet tall. The vehicle is comfortable, but I think power seats would be better for tall folks like myself. I also wish it had leather and heated seats, but this is sort of cosmetic...and actually there is a website where you can order the leather seat covers for around $350.00. Having a family, I really ...really... recommend ordering a package that gives you the curtain airbags. This is my biggest regret, and have considered getting another one for this reason alone. Other than that..I am very happy. I love the V6 and have had no problems. Other vehicles to consider...Volkswagon Touareg, Honda Pilot, Acura MDX.

I live in NH and am looking at purchasing a new 4Runner 4x4 VP Sport at Carmax in MD. Do I have to pay MD taxes on my purchase if I am a resident of NH and am going to register the car in NH as well? Thanks
  • stoesstoes Member Posts: 9
It was a 2003 bought in August, 2003. It did not include tax. Purchased at Preston Toyota in New Castle, PA.
  • alfster1alfster1 Member Posts: 273
You would have to pay NH taxes (or the state in which you register your vehicle).
  • floeva09floeva09 Member Posts: 20
Ok guys just curious what you think of the cost of this vehicle. I do not think I got the best deal, however I do like the truck. I have been watching this vehicle for years and now I am a proud owner. Here goes.

    Year: 2004 SR5 4Runner 4x4
    Cyl: 6
    Color: Pacific Blue
    MSRP: $30589
    Invoice: $27933...Plus D&H Fee...$299.50
    Total Invoice: $28232.50
My Price before taxes: $27831.50...Below Invoice: $401
    Toyota Matching Cash: $1000
Now My Final Price Is $26831.50
    Taxes Total: $2028.94......7.2% in Denver
    OTD Total: $30205
Extra: Alarm system, Floor mats...included in Price
This is the entry level Model, the only thing I wanted that I did not get was side curtain air bags. I would have to upgrade to the next level paying for things I did not want like sunroof etc. Man! it is a sharp looking vehicle I really like it,just disapointed that it cost soooooooooooooooooooooooooo! much money will always wonder if I got a good deal. Someone put my mind to rest...hehehe......Later and Peace!

I recently purchased a new 2004 SR5 4x4 4runner at Leith Toyota in Raleigh, NC.
I purchased a SR5 4runner (V6) 4x4, cloth seats, 17" wheels, CD, keyless entry, roof rack, cargo/floor mats, etc..., but no moon roof or rear spoiler.
    Total Invoice: $28,246
    Total MSRP: $31,329
My final Out The Door total came to $28,000.
While I feel that the price was OK and they were nice to deal with, it took me a while to get them to that price.

I'm looking to buy a 04 4Runner SR5 V6 4x4, very basic, with only a few options. Most of the quotes have been around $28,200 in Milwaukee.

Darscars Toyota in Maryland, on their website, is advertising similar vehicles for $26,337-$27,532(V8)all 4x4.

Has anyone spoke to them, they have 3 dealerships in Maryland. Is it possible they simply accept a lower profit margin or can all the other dealers actually meet this price range if they so choose?

Toyota offers different incentives in different parts of the country. For example, Gulf state dealers can offer an additional $750 cash back from the manufacturer. Southeast region doesn't get it.

Picking up a Silver 4Runner, V8 Sport Edition on Saturday. Following options installed

    Double Decker Cargo System
    Power Moonroof
Rear Spoiler w/Center high mounted stop Lamp
    Carpet and Cargo Net
    Daytime Running Lights
    Carpet Floor Mats/Cargo
    VIP RS3200 Alarm System
    Allow Wheel Locks

Paid $30,500 plus tax. Tax is crazy high in New York: 8.625%, so Final price = $33,131.

Seems like a good deal- was right at invoice price when pricing it on Edmunds. Best pre-tax offer anywhere else was over $31,000.

I hope I own this for the next 15 years...
  • lildevil23lildevil23 Member Posts: 19
Dude..a V8 for that price is impressive..where in the city did u get it from?
  • coramdeocoramdeo Member Posts: 10
I went to Fordham Toyota in the Bronx. It took a little time to get there- i was "this close" to playing $31,000 at the Toyota of Manhattan, having test drove the car there and the saleman I dealt with there was decent. But then the sales manager started to play games with me and I said, no deal. I then did a quick Internet search to see who else had the vehicle I wanted in my area- I called Fordham Toyota, got through to a decision-maker, and said, "At my price ($30,500), you can move a car off your lot this weekend". He accepted my offer on the phone- i thought he would haggle but he didn't

Has anyone ever heard of Toyota running year end special rebates/incentives on 4Runners when the 05 is about to hit the lot?

I leased a V6 Sport Edition 4WD with no options. My payment came out to be $242 per month for 51 months. I put $6000 down. Do you guys think I got a good deal?
  • mitchinpamitchinpa Member Posts: 40
You should NEVER put that much money down on a lease. If you total your 4Runner, all that money is lost and you will have nothing to show for it. Rule of thumb, never put down more than the bare minimum on a lease.

I have been shopping for a new 4runner SR5 V6 4X4 black or blue in Florida with no or verry little options. The best price out the door has been $29,989.00 at my local deanship. this is a small dealer but is the best price I can get from 3 local dealers. I can drive as far as south Georgia to get the best price or would pay shipping on the 4runner if the dealer maid up in the price. Please leave information on how I can get a better price. I would like to purchess the car within a 2 week period. Thanks

This past March I got an 04 v6 2wd for $29600 OTD. FYI, I live in Georgia. To me it looks like you have a good offer.

I have been looking for the past 6 mo. for an '03 LTD, V8, 4X4, X-REAS, and side curtain airbags. Nothing close to my 30,000 pre- tax limit here in TN. Even the base LTD V8 4X4 were going for 32-36 with about 15-30000 miles on them. I figured I was going to just have to wait until I found a used car dealer in WI who had exactly what I was looking for and asking just over my 30 limit. It has 23,000 on it and was a demo so the warranty just started in March of this year. I was able to get him to come down a little but I had to up my limit by a few hundred $. I think I got a good deal since I haven't seen many used ones with these options even close to that price. I will drive up there this next week to pick it up. Good deal or not?

I'm currently out of the country (USA) and will be returning in the 1st or 2nd week of September 2004. I have decided to buy a 4Runner, but am not sure if I should buy an 04 or 05 model. I know that the if I buy an 04, it'll be 1 yr. old as soon as I drive it off the lot. But, the 05 model will probably have $$ increases over the 04. So, with that said, what is your opinion? I'm considering pretty much a basic SR5 V6 with moon roof and roof rack. Also, does anyone know if the 05 will have any upgrades over the 04?

I'm in the San Diego area...anyone have info on best deals here? Thanks.
  • run4runnerrun4runner Member Posts: 9
Think if you sell your 4runner after three years, how much would be different with the same every thing and same mileage on it, except the model year different?
I am in San Jose CA and waiting for the 05 model since there is only couple of month waiting. it is hard to wait when you want some thing bad, for even better because you can not drive it anyway by now. Plus the new model always have some kind improvements.
  • yobow1yobow1 Member Posts: 29
I plan on buying probably a 2005 SR5 with some options. I live in the north San Diego area. This maybe a strange question, but I'm contemplating buying it in Oregon to avoid California sales tax (I understand Oregon doesn't have sales tax). Has anyone done this before and, if so, were there any snags? Thanks.
  • run4runnerrun4runner Member Posts: 9
Well you may not pay the sales tax in Oregon, but you will pay the sales tax when you register it in California, unless you register in Oregon. But you have to find out if they charge property tax like many other states do like Virginia I used to live. Also California law only allows you to have other state license plate for 30 days. Beyond that you deal with it.
