Dallas I got 28,200+TTL and Houston little cheaper, 28,175+TTL. You can try talk them down more in Dallas, I didn't try too hard. The houston one also gives 2yr/24k maintance. And they are giving me more for trade so I am buying from them this Saturday.

    Hey ,
R u Talking about TSX w/nav or non nav? If its is 28,200 + TTL for non nav, its a higher price. I was getting 25,800 + TTL. SO I am not sure about which one u r talking abt..

    Thanks,
    Sree

Yes, TSX with Auto and Navi. 28,200+TTL.
  • biker4biker4 Member Posts: 746
You'll just have to look around - prices should come down some - lots of 04s should be coming off lease now. A non-nav TSX lease buyout with a residual of 60% from its 04 price should be around 18K - even with a mark up by the dealer I wouldn't pay over 20K for an 04.

You may be in a market where high resale values will hold -if you want a better deal you'll have to widen your search area - there should be much better deals in CA.

I was just quoted 24,600 (+ tax & tags) for a 2006 TSX, auto, no nav, by a major area dealer. Is this a good deal?
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
Hoping for some input to my original message above. It seems like a low price compared to what I've seen in recent posts in this thread - are there any hidden angles here that I need to consider?

    TIA
  • delekodeleko Member Posts: 20
I am not an expert, but the invoice is $26,051 and your price is WELL below that. It is even below the base price for that model, so it seems to be an excellent deal. I would want to know the mileage, accident history, etc. to figure out why it is so cheap....

From what I understand, few people are paying below invoice. I paid $500 over invoice for 2006 AT w/ NAV in the DC area.

    Good luck!
  • delekodeleko Member Posts: 20
P.S. I would then take that quote and email other local dealers to see if they can beat that price.
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
It is even below the base price for that model,

Yup. I noticed that too. Obviously I still have a lot of verifying to do to see exactly what she's talking about, I'm just wondering how much evasiveness I'm in for when I sit down to discuss it in detail. She knows we're looking for a new car but I just don't see how she can offer a new, unblemished car at that price. OTOH, it is a very big, long-established dealership.

If I do find out that it's somewhat less than perfect (i.e., dealer demo or otherwise "slightly used"), how can I tell if it's really a good deal anyway, or whether we should pass?

It's such an unusual price, compared to what I've seen, that at this point I wouldn't have the guts to go into a competing dealership with that email. Frankly, in their place, I'd probably just politely point me toward the door and tell me to grab the deal if I believed it was genuine.
  • delekodeleko Member Posts: 20
It is certainly worth looking into. If the price isn't for one specific car (bad color, higher mileage, flood/hail damage) and it is an Acura dealership, then it is probably just a great deal. Others may know better, but I think you could probably also check out the car on carfax if you are still worried (assuming that prior problems would have been reported).

If it helps, I know that the COSTCO price for the TSX AT w/ Nav was $1K over invoice at the same dealership where I ended up buying mine (as of 2 wks ago). People are using that as a starting point, but would give you an idea as far as what to expect.

I wouldn't worry too much about what the other dealers say, after all if it is an internet inquiry, they wouldn't know who you are anyway. Recently, my significant other was pricing a Toyota online and the person made an error when quoting the price, but because he had a copy of the email, they honored the price. Maybe the salesperson made an error???

    Best of luck.

Just got an offer for a new 2006 TSX w/ Nav. for 29,000 from Ed Voyles. I know I can do better than this. Does anyone have any recommendations of other Atlanta dealerships that give better deals? What is a satisfactory price for a 2006 w/ Nav. before taxes and other fees?
  • enigmamattenigmamatt Member Posts: 2
Try Nalley up in Marietta. I have been researching to get a non-nav TSX in probably 6-8 weeks. Nalley quoted me the best price from an internet quote (26,800 or so). I am planning on trying to shoot for slightly above 26. I am willing to give them holdback + a little, basically.

Thanks, your information, especially about the Costco price and possible reasons that a specific car is offered at a relatively low price, is very helpful in giving me a broader perspective on where this number may have come from. Well, we'll see when we go to the dealership - it's a very big Acura dealership in our area. I will update as soon as I have some news.

What is the sales tax for Illinois and if you live in Chicago as I do for purchasing a new 2006 TSX? My dealer in Hoffman Estates quoted 9% and $15 for the Cook County Tax. Is this correct? I thought it was 8.25%.
  • delekodeleko Member Posts: 20
Best of luck with that. I am curious to hear the specifics of that great deal. Even at that price, I would still go in at the end of the month and try to get a few extras thrown in (wheel locks, all weather mats, etc.). I did too little of that in my negotiation... :D

I've been quoted ~$815 and $689 for a rear spoiler on a TSX. I'm guessing that the profit the dealer makes on these add-ons is huge. What's a fair price to pay for a rear spoiler?
  • stlcarguystlcarguy Member Posts: 30
Can anyone tell me what kind of pricing they've seen on Extended Service Plans for the TSX?

I know Acuras (Hondas) have such great reliability records, but I might consider an ESP because I plan on keeping this car a long time.

    Thanks!

Dealer wants 26.1K for a 2006 red auto TSX with 5K miles on it (dealer demo). Am also considering Mazda6 S Grand Sport (can get new for 22.5K. Any thoughts. Just bought my son a RSX-S last summer so I know about Acura quality.
  • sglsgl Member Posts: 6
That's an unbelievable deal. Where is this dealer? Are you sure it wasn't $26,400. Even that would be a good deal. For 24.6K, I'll call your dealer and buy one immediately.
  • biker4biker4 Member Posts: 746
I'd ask for at least $1k off that price - the price they quoted is about the going rate for a good deal on a brand new car - not some demo that may have had a "rough" life.
  • sglsgl Member Posts: 6
Thanks. That's exactly what I did ask, 1K less. I told the manager that I could get a new one for just a couple of hundred more. I emailed that yesterday and hopefully we can a least get close to 25K.
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
It was a pricing error and I believe they were being upfront and not trying a "bait and switch." They said it was actually a quote for an Azera, and I was able to verify that because the email also noted the MSRP, which was indeed the MSRP for the Azera and not the TSX.

Under the circumstances, I didn't give him a hard time about it at all. I don't know if my laid-back attitude has anything to do with it, but the guy was exceptionally nice, very low-key, patient, and gracious. I'd like to think that maybe I ran into one of those rare creatures, a truly decent guy out there in car-salesman land :) .

For the TSX, they gave me a written offer of $26,552 including destination (but not TTL), which seems like a reasonable place to start. This is for an Auto, non-Navi, and we didn't discuss any extras.

This is clearly such a great car, and it is the only one we saw that has all our "hot button" features without compromising. But it is about 3K over our budget for this purchase and we will have to think about it until we can make a rational - and not an emotional - decision.
  • richey02hgrichey02hg Member Posts: 69
wow, that 26,552 is the exact price for the target price at intellichoice.com

    http://www.intellichoice.com/reports/vehicleReport/vehicle_nmb/17631/type/new/ye- ar/2006/make/Acura/model/TSX

i think u should try to work it down and try to get it under 26k :)
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
Gotta give props to that salesman for realizing that if I was researching on the Internet, he'd just be wasting his time and mine if he gave me an inflated offer to start with.

Now I gotta keep crunching the numbers till I come up with an excellent reason that we can't afford not to buy the TSX. :P
  • delekodeleko Member Posts: 20
I guess when your gut tells you it is too good to be true, it usually is...one way or another. Too bad it didn't work out. Still, you will love the car. :D

Hi, Looking for a grey 6 spd TSX, Non Nav. Any ideas what I should be paying? I have heard that 26,600 is reasonable. I can wait, but am ready to buy now when I get the right price. I have a passat now and would not buy another. Just looking for something reliable.

    Thx.

After shopping and looking at about every car available ... I picked up my new 06, TSX, w/navi, Auto trans, today! Carbon Gray, w/gray int. 4.4 miles on the odometer. I paid $27,174 + TTL, no pressure for extras, free wheel locks, full tank of gas (it cost over $50 to fill this thing!). I am very satisfied with the deal and the people I dealt with, finance folks were no pressure also... Fairfield Acura, Northern Calif.
  • stlcarguystlcarguy Member Posts: 30
I can not get over the prices some of you are getting! Here in St. Louis 27,187 for non-nav is the best I've been offered. I was happy since it's 500 less than Edmunds TMV until I stopped by this forum. The guy above paid less than that WITH nav. Anyone else from anywhere near St. Louis getting a better deal than I've been offered?

    Thanks!
  • delekodeleko Member Posts: 20
That is below the base invoice price of $27,257 for 2006 TSX AT w/ NAV. How did you manage that? :confuse:
  • sactoraysactoray Member Posts: 8
Yeah, that's what the dealer said too! One thing for sure... it wasn't me or my skills as a negotiiator. It was the first time I had not been hassled at a dealership...I kept waiting for the hidden fee tricks or something, but nada. Even the finance guy did not try add anything. And with only 4.4 mi on it I knew it wasn't a demo.

It's a large dealer (many dealerships in Northern Cal) on a small lot. They only had 4 TSX's in stock. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

    Good luck to all.
  • sglsgl Member Posts: 6
Got the dealer down from 26.1 to 25.4 for a red 2006 TSX (no nav). It was a demo with 5K miles on it but sold with full warranty. I figured that was the best I could do. Another dealer wanted 25.7 for a used 2005 with 21K miles on it and another wanted 25 for a 2004 with 21K miles on it. Best for a new one was 26.7. So for 1300 less I got one with 5K miles on it. I suspect I couldn't have done much better. Car is for my son. Other son drives a one year old RSX-S. Mom and dad drive Honda's. What's wrong with this picture?
  • sactoraysactoray Member Posts: 8
LOL .... I am handing down my 02, Chev, Cavalier to my oldest daughter. 75k on and it has (knock on wood) been a great car. Nothing fancy but very solid. 4 yrs from now the other daughters will inherit my TSX and maybe I'll have the resources to get me that SLK 350 or 390 or whatever it is MB is selling then! yeah right!

DFW area 2006 Acura TSX w/o Nav 26000 +TTL, free 1 year oil change and free tint, is this a good deal?
  • macarsmacars Member Posts: 1
I'm searching for a '06 in MA, looking to buy in the next month or so. I have no trade in just ending a lease. Does that 26,900 include TTL ? If so that sounds like a good deal! could you tell me where you picked it up from or what tactics you used to score that price ?
  • amb3amb3 Member Posts: 6
I just paid $100 over dealers invoice including doc. fees of $57.33 for a total of $26,208.33 for mine. Tax, title & License fees not included. I used Carbargains.com, which for a $190 fee searches five dealers in your area, and they submit quotes. The highest dealer quoted $900 over dealer's price, another one $700, one $200, one $500. Carbargains.com saved me time, hassle, and money big time!!
  • amb3amb3 Member Posts: 6
You should definitely negotiate with the dealer. I paid $478 for mine, and that also included the labor charges.
  • amb3amb3 Member Posts: 6
I got mine from curryacuracare.com They have the best prices I've seen on the internet.
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
    Hi,

    njtsx23
Got 06 TSX non nav for $25,700 + TTL. Good deal?

Can you post which dealership? Thanks.
  • tomyangtomyang Member Posts: 3
Just got 2006 TSX with Nav for $27,500 plus TTL (plus Doc fee of $45). I'm quite sure I could have negotiated down another $100 - $200, but didn't bother. Great experience, no hassle. Got a free oil change and full tank of gas and 2.9% financing over 36 months. I've been looking for a new car Acura TSX, BMW, Lexus, and Volvo for about 2 years and gotta say, Sierra Acura and Glendale Acura's internet sales people have the best attitude.
  • lisablisab Member Posts: 4
Just negotiated down to $25,000 +TTL for new, left over 2005 TSX. Deal is in writing and includes EVERYTHING except tax, title and license.

Is this as good a deal as I think?

Silver, with black interior. Manual transmission.
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
The experts will surely weigh in soon but from what I've seen so far - not really. I have three written offers for a 2006 with auto transmission, no navigation, for ~26,550 + TTL - and that's before any negotiation. Assuming that the auto transmission adds about 800 to the price (a figure I'm picking up from another post here at Edmunds, I hope it's correct), and assuming that you'd pay the dealer's asking price without negotiating, it looks like you could get a 2006 with manual transmission for around 25,700.

In that light, 25K for a 2005 model sounds too high.

Let me know if you want me to post the dealers who gave me the written quotes on the '06 - also in the NYC area. You might get a little leverage if you show your guy written offers for an '06 for just a little more than his price for the '05. Or just go for an '06 :) .
  • lisablisab Member Posts: 4
Thanks for your input. What you say makes sense.

I would love you to post the dealers who gave you the written quotes on the '06 at 26,550. Also, would appreciate info/insight on how you got these quotes.

    Thanks.

Yes that is including TTL. I got it at Acura of Boston. I went in telling the guy I wasn't really planning on buying the car that day and said I was waiting for the interest rate deals to come out, etc. Then the guy told me he could get me that 2.9% rate for 3 years if I bought it that day. Keep in mind that promo rate wasn't available at the time I bought. So I said I'd be willing to buy at 26,500, including all fees & TTL, that day with the trade-in of my 98 Salvaged Nissan Maxima (the most I was being offered for it with trade-in was 1000). The best other offer I got anywhere else was 26,700 w/trade-in, not including TTL and fees, so Acura of Boston was significantly better. They were also easy to deal with, no BS compared to the other places, except for after the deal when they try to get you to purchase lojack, etc. Hope this helps!
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
Both quotes came from the Internet departments at the dealerships, which I contacted through the “get a quote” link at either Acura’s website or Edmunds. In both cases, their first reply did not have a quote. They only sent a quote after I wrote back, repeating the details of the model we want and stressing that I wanted to get a quote by email. Also keep in mind that the quotes I got were for automatic transmission.

One quote was from Plaza Auto Mall in Brooklyn, NY, for 26,552, not including TTL. It specified that destination charges were included.

The second quote was from Springfield Acura in Springfield, NJ, for 26,051, not including TTL. It did not specify whether this included destination charges.

    HTH.

At an Acura dealership, the sale guy mentioned, in passing, that "it's coming toward the end of the month" and there might be some incentives at the beginning of the next, and he'll let us know.

Is there anyplace to get info, or educated guesses, about upcoming incentives? Maybe something scheduled for the holiday weekend (Fourth of July)?

This dealer and one other both already quoted us prices that were equal to invoice. Are prices for the TSX on a downward curve?

    TIA
  • nynewcarnynewcar Member Posts: 89
Hi, sorry, I forgot to explain - I told you I got three quotes. I did get three, but turns out that two were identical, from Sprinfield Acura - got them at two different email addresses. The third was from Plaza Automall.

I'm looking at a TSX, 6 spd, non-Nav in the midwest (KC), and was wondering if this is what I should expect for a new TSX in this area ($26.2k).

Also, something most posters on here don't seem to address, what kind of services do your dealers offer you? Free oil changes, tune ups, etc.?

    Help is greatly appreciated.
  • richey02hgrichey02hg Member Posts: 69
so far I've gotten some internet quotes and talks. One is for 200 under invoice for TSX automatic non nav...and another dealer is 200 over invoice. I like the price but I really dont have much for a down payment (maybe like 5000 total) and I hate paying interest. Think I can get them down to 2.9% APR for 48 or 60 months? (they are currently offering 2.9% for 36 months)

Just FYI - Im in orange county, california and I am buying my first car out of college, the only other car I have ever owned is my 98 Chevy S 10 which Im expecting about 3 grand for.

And another thing, will the black leather be too hot? (Im going black ext. with black int.) Im probably test drving tomorrow so I will probably see then but just wondering your guys opinions. If it is, how much does window tinting usually run? Does a dealer ever throw that in?
  • fozziefozzie Member Posts: 1
I just bought my automatic w/no navi TSX today for $27,686 out the door in LA. The best thing to do is to get internet quotes for several dealers and then call each one and ask them if they can beat the best price.
  • roadster4roadster4 Member Posts: 2
What dealership gave you this price? I also live in LA. I have gotten quotes of $25,655 from 2 dealerships and $25,359 from another. Each quote is supposed to be with nothing else added on except $45 documentation and $28 electronic registration plus TTL. I am going out today to confirm that these quotes are real with no extras. Would love to know where you went in case I have problems getting a good deal!
