I'm working with two diffrent dealers and this is my best offer thus far...

    27,000 for 06 TSX w/ Nav.

So $28,497 out the door with oil changes and state inspections for life.

What do you guys think? :confuse:

Certified Pre-Owned.. usually, a used car that comes with an additional warranty backed by the manufacturer..

Original Equipment Manufacturer.. Parts that come from the manufacturer vs. aftermarket..

I live in Northern Virginia, right outside DC.

I got this offer from Radley Acura in Falls Church.

Take the deal. Radley has some of the best prices in the area.
  • biker4biker4 Member Posts: 746
I’m willing to bet there will not be a lot changes for the 07 models, except for a Type-S model (because to the redesign for 08).
No Type-S for the TSX anytime soon, actually no change till 08.

My fiancee just took delivery on a 2006 TSX non-Nav, Auto, Glacier Blue Metallic for $26,051 with an OTD of $27,915. We got 'em to throw in the trunk tray, splash guards, and wheel locks for no extra charge. We got it from David McDavid in Plano and used the Fighting Chance packet which worked like a charm. I highly recommend it, it's well worth the money and effort. :)

Curious as to whether that deal for $27K was for Automatic with NAV from Radley Acura in Falls Church, VA? Did it materialize? I just paid $28400 there for AT w/ NAV and thinking I should call my salesman...

    Hey Guys (and gals)

I'm looking to buy an 06 TSX non-navi sometime in the next couple of months. I have gotten quotes from the area dealers, and Nalley is the best at around 26,900. I was wondering if anyone has experience w/the dealerships in the area and which will ultimately offer the best deal.

    Tks,
    Matt

Please help me sort out the advantages/drawbacks associated with buying a certified pre-owned TSX from a dealer (looking at 04 and 05's) versus an extended warranty (through 100k miles) from a private seller. Getting mixed signals from both sides. What does Acura's CPO cover? (or more importantly, what does it exclude?) Am I better off taking the extended warranty (which is transferable, I'm told) and covers practically everything, or is the CPO coverage just as good through 60k or however long it lasts? Is the extended warranty (for which the dealer wants to charge me $1k to $1.5k) worth a $500 bump from the private seller? Thanks for your insight and or experience.

Has anyone purchased a TSX recently in North Carolina? Just curious what others have paid in the area and what dealerships they have visited. I am hoping to make my purchase in the next few weeks and have received a quote from Leith Acura for an AT w/o navigation for $27,300 which seems high compared to what others have paid. Any assistance from anyone in the area would be great. Thanks!

Hello again. I just reporting back on my purchase over the past weekend. I purchased an 06 TSX 6sp man. for 27,600. I looked all over Ohio and finally bought in Columbus through the internet. It was a decent experience. They did try to change the value of my trade when I got there but we came to a consensus realizing that I had a check in hand and would have gone to Cleveland if they continued. It is a very nice vehicle. I drove an 06 TL immediately after the TSX and I felt that the TL, although more powerful, was heavier to drive and lower to the ground. The TSX was easier to manipulate and combined with the 6sp its down-right awsome for a 4cyl. My mpg so far on its first tank is 37 highway @65 with air on(it was 95 here), and over 30 around town. So I don't understand these folks with 23 in town unless they are beating the thing down. At any rate it is a great car. :P

I am planning to get in touch with Radley but wanted to know if the price of $27,000 for a TSX with navi was the OTD price?

AVOID Acura 101 West in Calabasa, CA :lemon:
Be careful with this dealership...Tried to sell me a service loaner TSX with a clean Carfax. First said the car was clean, then asked if any paint or body work said no, then I asked for a paint gauge to check (I never trust the dealer,b/c my uncle owns a body shop) and they wouldn't give it to me, so this made me suspicious. Finally let me take it to my uncle who owns a body shop (probably didn't believe me) and guess what.... door had body work done as well as the bumper which could only be seen by a body shop professional. carfax was clean, guess they dont report stuff to the DMV..... AVOID ACURA 101 WEST especially the carsalesman and manager.

Hi, Was quoted 26,800 for TSX with out navigation in Hartford,CT . total price with tax etc would be 28,700. Wondering what others have paid or what target price I should try for?
  • junior5junior5 Member Posts: 15
Which dealership qouted you this? I was canvassing a few weeks ago and was just given 1,000 below msrp for nav and non-nav models. I guess they brought the price down because it is near the end of the month.
  • kbballerskbballers Member Posts: 2
I am looking for an 06 TSX auto (no navigation) in the Texas/Louisiana area. I am wondering what other people are paying in the area.

Is 27,700 before TTL good or can there be better?
  • tsxlonghorntsxlonghorn Member Posts: 13
No that is a bad price to be paying for a non nav auto, you're getting ripped off. Last Friday (5/26) we purchased an '06 non-Nav auto TSX for 26,051 before TTL, so we got it right at invoice and avoided paying the local dealer advertising fee.

You need to buy the car near the end of the month and get the Fighting Chance packet (do a google search) in order to get this sort of deal. You'll want to contact dealers all over Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. The packet clearly explains how to play the game and win :) Let me know if you have any questions.
  • radhayradhay Member Posts: 17
Thanks for the tip. I am thinking 26,800 is not a fair price. Will get a Fighting chance packet just before I am ready to buy. What does 'TTL' mean? is it total price including tax, registration etc ? Its hard to get rid of dealer advertising/prep fee. How did you do it?
  • shopper102shopper102 Member Posts: 8
Can someone please tell me what a good price would be on a CPO 2005 Auto TSX w/ 12k miles from a dealer?

Edit: To clarify, sales tax is 3% , and this is a demo vehicle
  • kbballerskbballers Member Posts: 2
Thanks for the tip. I will do that!
  • tsxlonghorntsxlonghorn Member Posts: 13
26,800 is also too much to pay but it really depends on the market where you are. TTL = Tax, title, and License fees.

The packet will explain what to do. If you honestly plan to have your car serviced at that dealership and/or if you or a friend/family member have bought a vehicle from that dealership, make sure to use that as leverage since they love repeat/referral business (It helps witrh their CSI scores). Don't walk into the dealership until you have agreed upon a deal. Also try to get the dealer to throw in a trunk tray, wheel locks and Splash guards for free.

I'm looking to purchase a 2006 TSX without the Navigation System. I will not be financing via the Acura Dealer, as I have obtained financing via my Credit Union. I want the spoiler as well. Anyone purchase one in the Chicagoland area recently? If so, how much did you pay, including TTL, etc. and what Dealer?
  • stldonstldon Member Posts: 21
Could you give more information on the Fighting Chance Packet? I did a google search and could not find more information.

    I need your guys' advice.

I just put down a deposit on a Carbon Grey/Ebony '06 TSX w/ nav. Their initial offer was $28,700, but I negotiated it down to $28,000+TTL. I realize that price will vary upon region, but I wonder if anyone thinks that's a decent price for the NY/CT area. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone know if the price of a new '06 TSX should go down as the year progresses? I would assume the answer is yes since the closer you get to '07 the sooner dealers want to get rid of their current stock, but I'm not sure since I'm very new to all of this. Thanks.
  • huskerdoohuskerdoo Member Posts: 11
Seems like a decent price for the eastern U.S.. I just bought a 06 Carbon gray with ebony 6sp man. for 28 out the door but I had to come up with 1000.00 included in the 28000) to pay off my 05 Jeep (never buy another SUV in my lifetime). I talked to the dealer about 06 TSX and 07. Not any real changes there. They will ship 06 until the end of July according to him. I wanted a stick and he was talking about having to order it if he could not find one. I drove the TL after I drove a TSX and actually preferred the overall ride of the TSX. It is more nimble, easier to manuver and the quality of ride (sound and comfort) were to similar to make me pay the 6 grand more. The stick is the slickest I have driven and really makes a difference within the TSX itself. I drove autos and sticks in both the TL and TSX (although the TSX stick was actually my car when it finally arrived). I averaged 30 in town and 36 on the road so far using 93 Octane from Krogers. The extra 9 miles/gallon also swayed me towards the TSX. I have the family cruiser van so I did not need the extra room anyway. At any rate unless you like to beat your car your current offer should be good. ;)
  • daytadayta Member Posts: 13
    Thanks for the response!

I'm a bit confused...so you paid $27k OTD + $1k to finish paying off your Jeep? Did your TSX come w/ nav? If so, where did you get yours from? And when you mentioned beating up my car, how would that make a difference on the price I'm paying?

Also, can anyone else confirm that the '07s are going to start shipping at the end of the summer? I'd like to get my TSX now, but I'd really hate to have its value sharply decrease if the '07s are coming out in two months.......
  • senseless1senseless1 Member Posts: 16
Otherwise, I'm confused. 28K out the door with nav is only $130 over invoice pricing if you include the $615 destination charge. Advertising can be $300 or so on top of that; right? Are there mfg to dealer bonuses I'm not aware of?

Some of these reports are useless because they involve a trade, which may be under valued by the dealer.
  • huskerdoohuskerdoo Member Posts: 11
I guess my post was a little winded and confusing. The purchase price of the 06 6spd no nav was 28000 out the door. That included everything, all fees and the 1000 I had to come up with for my Jeep payoff. So I guess you could say that I bought the TSX for 27,000 out the door. I hope this helps.

    ;)
  • daytadayta Member Posts: 13
$27k OTD for a non-navi...that's a pretty excellent price. Though, I'm still a bit unclear as to what you did with your Jeep. Did you trade it in towards the TSX?

Anyone else with an opinion on the price I got? OTD, my price will be $29,974 (6% CT), not including finance charges.

Sorry for the blank post. Since the '07s will be out in 5 months, the deals for '06s should be more generous. Trade in value for an '07 over an '06 will be many thousands more.
  • daytadayta Member Posts: 13
So does that mean I'm getting ripped off???

The only thing I'm thinking about getting one now versus later is the fact that I think it'll be much harder to find the color combo I want towards the end of the year (carbon grey/ebony/nav). What do you think is a fair price for this configuration (lower than $28k+TTL)? Keep in mind that I'm in the Northeast...
  • huskerdoohuskerdoo Member Posts: 11
Have you emailed all of the Acura dealerships within a comfortable distance from your home? If so then you probably already have the price range for your area. Mine, in Ohio was as low as 27200 but since I did not go to that dealership I don't know if that included the delivery fee of 615. And that was a dealer in Akron. The invoice is like 25600 then add the 615 delivery fee. 26200 is probably the lowest you would ever see an new non-licensed no milage car. Add the 1800-2000 for the nav and that should be the range for your vehicle : 28200 or so at the least. Some dealerships may go lower given that they can still recieve their 3% factory hold back if the car leaves their lot before 3 months is up but I have found that the more upscale dealerships ie: Acura, Lexus, Mercedes will not do this. So if your vehicle is 28,000 and then added fees and tax you are proably close to as good as you could get. Personally I never finance the fees and Tax, That is the amount I prefer to pay myself up front. And in our state you get full credit for your trade off the price of the new vehicle for tax purposes. ie: 27400 TSX - 16300 Jeep = 11100. I pay tax only on the 11100. But since I owed 17300 on the Jeep I had to pay 1000.00 additional which I paid another 400 and rolled the rest into the car for a total out the door of 28000. Hope that really clouded your picture.
  • daytadayta Member Posts: 13
Yes, I have contacted 3 other dealers in my area (4 total), and the next closest price was $28,500+TTL. I'm thinking this will be the best I can do, though I'm still worried about the value decreasing significantly if the '07s come out in the next few months. I would consider waiting for the '06s to drop down in price, but then I don't think I could find the exact TSX that I'm looking for (CGP/Ebony/Nav).

Now, I'm also a bit torn about whether I should get AT or MT...
  • adhocgeneadhocgene Member Posts: 8
I bought my 06 non-navi around second week of May from Arlington Acura. It cost me 26500 + TTL (all weather matts+wheel locks+mud flaps included).
  • amb3amb3 Member Posts: 6
Wow! Great Price! You got it $449 above invoice including the Destination Charge! Can you let me know who your salesperson was? Also, what did the TTL add up to? I'll try to go there on Tuesday for a test drive. Thanks! :D

    HI,
    I am planning to buy a TSX 2006 5 speed Automatic/No nav.
The minimum quote that I got so far was 25,800 + TTL.
Total it comes around 28,800. And the dealer was saying that he got lot of TSX's in his lot. I feel the dealer is trying to rip me off..... Is there any better prices available in and around Tx area?

    Thanks

Wow that was a great deal you got. Did you buy at the end of the month? I work for an Acura dealership in MA. I've never seen an 06 TSX with Navi go for less than $28,500. At $28,500, that only happens at the end of the month to make numbers. Usually they sell for $29,000.
To answer the second part of your question, unlike the TL, the TSX are produced in far fewer numbers. The demand is high for this vehicle. The new model year for Acura does not start until October, so you won't see any special savings until late November early December. There are not that many around at the end of the year to get an unbelievable deal. $28,000 is pretty much the best you could do at the end of the year. Selling a car at the price you bought it, in the industry, the dealer is "whoring themselves out."
  • biker4biker4 Member Posts: 746
There will be very little swing between now and when 07s come out. Also, once people see that the 07 provides no benefits over the 06, there might be a run on discounted 06s leaving you nothing to choose from. 06 production will probably end in Sept. so whatever is on the boat by late Sept is it for the MY.

Go in at the end of August and make the best deal on an MT available.

The only time the trade in value between an 06 and 07 will be "many thousands" apart is for a couple of months after the 07 comes out.

I got a decent quote from Daivd McDavid Acura in Dallas and Champion Acura in Houston. Try those two places.

In the Houston area I would strongly reccomend John Eagle Acura in Katy. I purchased my TSX non-nav w/tint for $26,200. Drive out $28,000. Of all of the dealerships in the area, I think you have the best chance of getting a deal with these guys. Beautiful new showroom and no games.

I am looking at a 2004 TSX manual with nav with 35k miles. Dealers have told me that "a lot of high schoolers" want these cars very badly around here (Portland, OR). I am being quoted a price of $22,600. I could care less about nav but I am really trying to pin down a decent deal. Any suggestions?
