I got a quote in Greensboro, NC on TSX for $27199 without navigation system. Processing fees or doc fees are just additional profits for the dealer. My goal is to pay total no more than $800 over invoice price...
I bought my car there in May. You have more wiggle room on the TL than the TSX for some reason...possibly a supply/demand issue. My question is that w/ or w/out NAV?
I happen to know that you can get the TL $1K below invoice (that was w/ NAV, as of a couple of weeks ago). I paid $500 over invoice + TTL for TSX Auto w/ NAV in May and I had to pay the $245 fee. I would get some online quotes from others and ck around...Pohanka had good prices.
I am also shopping in NC, talking to Hendrick in charlotte. they are sooo high, 27,579.00 plus TTD 2006 TSX anybody in NC out there? mind sharing your finds? Im listening...Thanks
VA dealers usually don't like to give up the proc fee (around $300). If you want to squeeze out that last $200 from a deal go to some MD dealer that will match the price - the proc fee in MD is usually less than $100.
I'm now leaning towards the TL. I have one question about it. It's not price related, so I apologize for posting to this board, but this seems to be the most active Acura board.
I'm a gadget nerd, and the TL seems a little behind the TSX in the following ways:
1) The dealer told me the TL GPS system is older than the TSX GPS system. The menu system isn't quite the same, and the TL doesn't have the Zagat restaurant ratings. Seems weird that they would use an older system in the more expensive car.
2) No AUX in for the stereo! The TSX has this but the TL doesn't. Again, annoying when you're paying more.
Are these statements accurate? Anyone else have any info on the difference between the TL and TSX navi system?
I'm the proud owner of a new Carbon Grey TSX Auto with Nav and Ebony Interior!!! Extremely pleased with the vehicle and have put about 150 miles on it today alone! I'm 24 and after being carless in San Francisco for two years, I'm very satisfied to get so much car for the money.
Thought I'd walk you through what I paid, since you were all so good to post your own findings while I was searching. I don't have my papers in front of me, so the below numbers might be off by 10-50 bucks, but not much.
I was originally quoted $27,650 from an internet inquiry, and upon entering the dealership they of course squirmed and said it didn't include destination of $670. I told them I have a tough time believing someone whose job it was to make internet quotes all day would "forget" the destination and that it was bad practice on their part. They agreed to invoice at that point (and let's be clear, they're still making 3% off base MSRP thanks to holdback) and the deal was done. I'm not going to cry about $250 on a $28k vehicle! They also threw in floor mats and wheel locks (ooh la la) per my request.
I live in New Jersey and was planning on visiting Open Road Acura in East Brunswick (their website had quoted $27,871, but then I realized that the fine print mentioned it was without destination). I ended up purchasing the vehicle from Davis Acura in Langhorne, PA.
Do you mind giving us your OTD price? I'm curious about things like whether you paid a 'processing fee', or if the only extra costs were Tax, Tags, and Licensing. I assume your purchase price included destination?
they already have prices set in stone, no negotiated needed at all and its already below invoice My guess is you will get 500 below invoice for the TSX with nav as well
when I was there I was actually shown the spreedsheet with all the prices 25,581 was without nav. not sure what it was with nav, but I was basically being shown how much the addons cost. For example, the protection package would be 300 bucks.
My dealer has a couple demo TSX's that they are willing to sell. They have around 2K miles on them. Can these be sold as "new" cars and what kind of discount should I look for on them?
I purchased a demo Acura back in 2000, and it was never titled, so it was considered new. Since then, the laws where I lived have changed, and demos are now titled, sold as used/preowned. That means you pay taxes on the full price of the car, instead of the difference of the new and any trade-in you may have. Check with your dealership, they should be able to help you. I looked at two 2005 TSX non Navi demos earlier this week. One had 15k miles, the other 35k. Both we being sold for $24,995. I smiled and walked away, realizing a new would only be grand more.
I just ordered the consumer reports so I see the 'bottom line' and know to work up. I want one with navigation and have certain color choices I want. I need to know what should my bottom line be? Has anyone bought in Colorado and have a favorite dealer?
Widen your search area or have the dealer order you one. This time of year might be tricky in terms of ordering - you might still be able to get an 06 but might be get an 07 depending on when the factory changes MY production.
The dealer told my husband and I today that if we ordered one it would have to be the 07 and that they won't bargin at all and the MSRP is $1000 more. We are in deep as we sold my car and thought this was a great time of year -- we were wrong I did widen my search and have found some on the east coast but then how in the world do I bargin and get them here??? I may have to get gray, gray or the other gray
Sounds to me like you need to try another dealer. On the two coasts the TSX can be had for invoice and some dealing should be the norm elsewhere. Your best bet would be a large metro area with several dealers. If you want a deal a road trip may be in order. Some CA dealers may be willing to deliver the car for a price.
Considering there's virtually nothing changed for 07, Acura may try to increase the MSRP by $1000 (that may have been BS from the dealer - prices have not been anounced) but it won't get as many buyers. The main reason the TSX sells so well is its price below 30K. As soon as the price crosses that 30K threshold (the non nav would get close, the NAV would be well over), buyers may start looking at other alternatives. :shades:
This could be a move by Honda to test the waters in preparation for much higher pricing for the new 08 TSX. Given the rather high pricing of the RDX, it would be reasonable to assume 07 may be the last year for a sub 30K Acura (no more RSX).
I've been looking at leasing or purchasing an 06 TSX with automatic and NO Navigation System in Atlanta, GA. There seems to be no good deals on leases. Has anyone purchased a TSX in Atlanta recently? Let me know your bottom line pricing before tax, title and license.
I've got a drive out price of $27,132.32 before tax. USAA said that was a good deal. They could have offered $27,100 without the navigation and with automatic. I've been told to I should also ask they provide a loaner car when having the car serviced.
I'm researching the 2006 TSX for my next vehicle purchase and I'm confused about the data I'm seeing on pricing. I used Edmunds to find the TVM of the model I'm interested in, which was $29,304 (manual w/Nav). However, all of the postings I'm reading in this thread are drastically under the TVM, some are close to or at invoice. I originally assumed that if I received a quote that was a few hundred under TVM, it was a good deal. Is this not the case?
I purchased my 05 TSX AT w/Nav from Radley last October during the model chang period and got a great deal
Car price was $26,8ish and with tax/DC/processing it came out to just shy of $29k which I keep getting told was a crazy deal.
I randomly went car shopping during that time period so I wasn't trying to buy a car during a specific time period but I'm happy I did!!! The good thing about NOVA is you have so many dealers in the are - Radley, Karen Radley in Woodbridge, Pohanka, and Chevy Chase.
Edmunds TMV is an aggregate number across probably the market monitoring metrics they have. It doesn't change considering seasonal factors such as last months of the model year, build up in inventory, new models launched by competitors. These factors fluctuate the sales prices in a particular local market. Knowing that TSX is a dated model and been in the market for a while to clear out any supply-demand bottlenecks, you really have to go agressive than TMV. If you pay any more than few hundred over invoice on this, I would say it is a bad deal. Few hundred is the cushion that you can have to negotiate a pleasant deal. Hope that helps.
I pulled a consumer report and they say for 2006 AT with Navi to start negoitions at $27030 as they dealer gets a 'hold back' from the manufacture for selling the car and that is what invoice is.
Informed people know that there's a dealer hold back below the published invoice and can calculate what the dealer really pays for a car.
I suspect in many areas deals around invoice is a good deal and in some areas prices demanded are closer to sticker (as the TMV prices attest). TSX is not some GM that dealer is willing to make no money, so deals which involve having the dealer lose any of their hold back is rare.
What sales person? Called there and they want $28,200 flat for one with Navi. Plus any options are retail and they want me to use their higher finance rate.
You may include the dealership name, city and state in your post. Please do not post names of salespeople, telephone numbers, email addresses, or other contact information.
The non-nav has bluetooth. I think I'm only missing out on the GPS. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. As for options, I couldn't get any bargains on that. Instead I bought (on ebay) splash guards used once for $11 and the all-weather mats for $90.
Acura of Ramsey offered 25,900 but I didn't try to get them to match 25,800. They initially quoted me 26,000 over email.

I paid 26,085 at Radley in Woodbridge w/o navigation. So you're looking at 28,085 w/ navigation. You're in the ball park.
Also the wheel locks were included. Probably could of got the splash guards and trunk tray incluced if I had pushed more.
Did you have to pay a processing fee?

Great info - thanks!

Enjoy your new TSX!
Sure thing. I stopped being lazy and grabbed my sales documents.
My OTD price on an Auto/NAV TSX was $29,964. Car price with destination was $27,927, $55 in Documentation Prep Charge, $1982 in sales tax (7%).
Hope this helps. Can't wait to take it out again today!
TSX was 25,581 (500 under invoice) and the OTD price was around 27,700-800 if I remember right, I just know for sure it was under 28k.
