I was wondering if I could get the 36/10 and 36/12 residuals and MFs for a GT w/ Tech in Georgia. Any advantage to doing a shorter or longer term (e.g. 33 months or 39 months)? It looks like the residuals dropped substantially from April to May, although lease cash is up to $2,340. I'm also a current Mazda owner so I get the additional $750 on top of that, but I think I might have gotten a better deal in April when the residuals were higher.
Thanks!
36 months is the sweet spot; 33 and 39 month MF are not as good.
36/12 for GT - .00001 and 50%. Add 1% for 10K. $2340 lease cash.
Same numbers in Southern California for GT with Tech?

I know you guys never recommend leasing if the intention is to buy it out at the end of the lease period. But considering the generous lease cash (2340) and the negligible MF, would it be a smart move to lease the car and then buy it out later.
Not usually, but you'd have to run the numbers both ways to see.
What is the current promotional APR if you buy outright?
0% for upto 36months and 0.9 upto 63months.
So, pretty close to 0 to buy, as well.
Remember, in three years your leased car will be used; when you go to finance it, you won't get the extra special interest rates. Then, you have to think about how long you plan to finance the car for at lease end. Oh, and you'll pay sales tax on the financed amount.
As I said, you'd have to run the numbers both ways to see which makes more sense.
Any Particular reason why mazda ( or any company for that matter ) has such a large difference between lease cash (2340) vs customer cash (1000)?

My guess is that they are promoting leasing as it increases the probability of repeat business when the lease is up.
When my Hyundai lease ends later this year, I'll likely get into another Hyundai.
MF and residual please for 36 months, 15K year for 2016 Mazda6 Sport?
Also lease cash on that car? I think we also qualify for loyalty as we have a mazda 6 lease now.
What state? Mazda numbers are regional in May.new jersey
Can I get numbers for both Touring w/ Tech and GT w/ GT Tech, 36/10 in WA? Incentives?

Thanks! Man, doesn't look like that MF drop covers the extra lease cash =/. Where do we find the info on the $2340 lease cash anyway? I haven't seen it anywhere but here.

That's because it's a factory to dealer incentive. Dealer can choose to pass it along to the customer.
Hi, could you please post numbers for SoCal? 36m/12k for Automatic Sport and Touring Trims. And to confirm, the $1000 customer cash does not combine with the $2340 lease cash?

You are overpaying for the GT configuration by at least $65 a month with the $2000 down payment. I just leased a Mazda6 GT last month in NY with the same MSRP as yours ($31,030) for $270 a month with $1950 total out-of-pocket (36mo/10K miles a year). I know for a fact they lost about $500 on the deal (finance manager showed me the deal structure at the end), which leads me to believe I got close to a the rock bottom deal -- one strategy I found very useful is to call last 2 days of month end, when their priority shifts to just moving units (making a profit becomes secondary 1-2 days prior to month end). Not all dealerships will be as aggressive when structuring a deal where they lose money, you have to call at least 10-12 (or more) dealerships in your area and find out what the rock bottom deal is for the model you want. Personally, I never go in person to negotiate, I always just call a whole bunch of dealerships within a 20 mile radius and tell them I already have a deal in place at my local dealership but want to make sure I'm getting the best possible deal out there. At that point they become competitive and say they will match whatever you got at your local dealership and will ask you what you got, and then is when you just pull some random numbers out of the hat (what you initially think is the rock bottom deal, usually a really low number) and find out if they can match it (in my case, I initially started at $250 a month with $2000 total out of pocket). Some will say you are way off, some will say you are crazy and need profesh help, but some will come back with let's say $280 a month and tell you they are losing money even at $280 (this usually is the first hint that the rock bottom deal is probably somewhere between $260 to $275 a month with $2000 total out of pocket). You continue calling, but this time you say you got a deal in place for $265 a month with 2K down (this suddenly becomes more realistic to them, as end-of-month closing is looming over their heads and they need those units sitting on their lots moved). Eventually you will get one of them to crack and say ok to those numbers. Make them email or fax you a written confirmation of the deal -- you don't need any surprises when you do show up to sign, make sure all terms are listed and make them repeat them to you word for word -- $270 or whatever a month with $2000 total out pocket (all taxes and fees included, make them say that, very important!). And voila! By following all these steps you will have gotten yourself 'the real deal' on the car you want and not just some 'average' deal that Joe Shmo is getting by walking into a dealership on a saturday afternoon not knowing what's what. Also, very important! if they say they won't give you any numbers over the phone but you have to come in person, always hang up and call the next one -- the last thing you want is for you to step into the lion's den where those silver tongued sales managers have the upper hand and play you anyway they want (believe me, they will try to!). Do all the negotiation over the phone, close the deal verbally over the phone and ONLY go in person to sign a 'DONE' deal, this is how you do it folks, stay firm no matter what and never go in person if the terms have not already been set over the phone. Got it? Good.
I know it seems like a little bit of work, but at the end of the day you will have saved (in this particular case) roughly $2,300 over the life of the lease ($65 x 35mo, assuming first month included in the 2K) which you can instead spend on that long overdue Cancun vaca with that special lady in your life (which reminds me I gotta book mine soon too)!
PS: Notice how I didn't mention any of the math mumbo jumbo, like money factor or residuals or what have you -- you don't need those. I've been negotiating for car leases for almost 20 years and found that the best strategy is to know exactly how much you want to pay (do some research, always have a monthly payment in mind and a total out of pocket amount) and by calling various dealerships and through trial-and-error, anyone can find that rock bottom deal that average Joe can only dream of. Sorry for keeping this no less than too long, but hope this helps somewhat. Good luck to you!
Wow, thanks for the heads up.. i will definitely try that. makes sense to negotiate over the phone. you got a great deal on the GT 36/10k, I quoted for 36/15k, as i need to extra miles, maybe that makes the difference for the $65; i will try get better numbers following your advise.

Going from 10K miles to 15K a year should not be more than a $10-$12 a month difference (even before you start the negotiating you can ask them to confirm what the difference in the monthly payment would be).
sounds like i still have some room to play based on that difference, target: 270 + 25 = 295 based on the deal tech_dude got on a similar car/MSRP @10k/y = 270/mo + 25 based on lower residual due to 15k/y
335.37 quoted vs 295 ...
is the reduction in the residual /36 all the cost or i need to add the cost per extra mile (at a lower cost)
i might need to quote for 12k instead.. see how that looks thanks

The residual reduction takes care of the mileage change.
10K/yr to 12K/yr subtracts 1% from the residual ($300 on a $30K MSRP car). That only adds $8.33/mo.
Current numbers for 36/12 for a Touring in NJ? Lease cash $2340? Also, is the $500 Mazda Loyalty and $750 Mazda Finance loyalty combineable with the $2340?

50% and .00001. $2340 lease cash.
I think the $500 can be combined; the other, labeled "Finance", does not sound compatible with a lease program.
Went to go see an accord sport 6mt 4dr yesterday and that deal with the dealer was no shot I'm assuming they wanted to finance not lease since they came back with an offer with 1500 down $478 a month.
Anyway went to a comparable rival and I'm trying to work out the numbers since i have done 0 research on this car & the dealer was 15 min to close but mazda was literally down the road figured why not.
MSRP of this car is 24780. Residual i was told through the salesman is apparently .55 and MF was .00230
I don't think any of these numbers are correct since i can't get any where close to the the price we got down to.
the numbers are $245 a month with 2k total out of pocket (this incl TTL fees)
The vehicle is a 6MT Mazda 6 i Touring. 36/12k. Car is in NJ, buying with NY tags. Does this price seem like a good deal?

You're right - none of the numbers make sense.
For the 2016 Mazda 6 i Touring 6MT 36/12, the numbers are .00001 and 49%. MF can be marked up, but not that much. We assume you have top tier credit; if not, the MF will go up accordingly.
i have no clue, salesman was off yesterday so we are picking up the car today. Ill get the selling price in a few hours. Does this seem like a good deal though? If your saying 49% this car has to be in the teens?

No - the residual value and the negotiated selling price are independent of one another.
I am looking into details of a lease. 2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring with Tech package, 3 years 15k miles/Year, Hartford area , CT 06118 Can I please get numbers for MF, residual? I have been following discussions here on Edmunds ( KYFDX and Michaell you guys are really helpful ) The MSRP for this model Mazda 6 with tech Package is $33,450 , Hartford Dealers Best Price $30,150 Can I negotiate for an additional $3500 ( $2500 factory to dealer incentive + $ 1000 cash back ) ? What monthly number should I be looking for to fix the deal ? Any suggestions will be highly helpful. Regards, carlover

.00001 and 48%. $2340 lease cash.
My guess is that the dealer offer already includes available incentives; not sure that you can get lower than that, but it can't hurt.
With your prices, I get a pre-tax payment of $392/mo. The low residual is hurting the payment.

2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring with Tech package, 3 years 15k miles/Year, Hartford area , CT 06118
Can I please get numbers for MF, residual?
I have been following discussions here on Edmunds ( KYFDX and Michaell you guys are really helpful )
The MSRP for this model Mazda 6 with tech Package is $33,450 ,
Hartford Dealers Best Price $30,150
Can I negotiate for an additional $3500 ( $2500 factory to dealer incentive + $ 1000 cash back ) ?
What monthly number should I be looking for to fix the deal ?
Any suggestions will be highly helpful.
Regards,
carlover
My guess is that the dealer offer already includes available incentives; not sure that you can get lower than that, but it can't hurt.
With your prices, I get a pre-tax payment of $392/mo. The low residual is hurting the payment.

Oh my god .
392$ + 6.5% salestax = $417.48
Its turning out to be very expensive than what i thought. I suppose the residual value will increase by 2%, if i do 12kmiles/year . Am i right ?
Even that will not substantially drop down the lease payments .

Need to know the MSRP and adjusted cap cost in order to qualify the strength of the dealer offer.
