I got an initial online quote from my local SoCal dealer yesterday on a Mazda6 Touring manual (MSRP $24,780) for a 3 yr/36K mile lease. I asked for a quote with zero cap reduction (first payment, DMV & doc fees only due at inception, with acquisition fee rolled into the capitalized cost). I told the dealer that as a current Mazda owner, I would qualify for the $500 owner loyalty money, so presumably that money is taken into account in his quote. While I expected the initial offer to be high, I wasn't quite expecting $364/mo including 9% use tax. He didn't provide details of the lease terms he is using, but I'm assuming the 48% residual cannot be changed. Based on my calculation, the selling price is something like $23,250 (assuming he is not marking up the 0.00005 money factor) which is about $200 below invoice. I emailed him back saying I was expecting the monthly payment to be at least $100/mo lower, considering the $2,275 lease cash and my $500 owner loyalty rebate. I am waiting to see if he drops his price substantially. $364/mo is even higher than what people are paying for top of the line GT model!

Dealer can mark up the MF up to .00050 for extra profit.
I would specifically ask for the adjusted cap cost - that number may be hiding a number of extra fees.
Hi, I have the following deal from a local dealer and wanted to know your opinion on the deal. The deal as offered is a true sign and drive as there will be no out of pocked at delivery, everything is rolled into the lease. I ask your opinion as there are some fees like "delivery and handling" and "MNM value pack" that seem excessive and I don't really know what they are.

I get the same payment the dealer does, with those numbers.
Delivery and Handling is pretty much pure profit - is this in Florida? Home of the high dealer fee, unfortunately.
No idea what the MNM value pack represents -- ask, and if you don't like the answer, negotiate it (in whole or in part) out of the deal by getting a lower selling price.

I am looking to get the payment down to 321 including tax and zero at delivery, do you think it would be possible on the Mazda 6 gt with tech package given the numbers above. Supposedly I can get 750 lease loyalty cash that I dont see in these numbers. What do you think?

Going from $374 to $321 would require a drop in the "total cap cost" of almost $2000. Not likely that the dealer will discount the car that much more, frankly.
If you're shopping a payment, perhaps the Touring trim level may be a better option.
Hi, I'm looking to lease within the next month. I would like to know the July lease terms and incentives, and cash rebates/cashback for a Mazda 6 Touring 6-speed Automatic with Technology Package(MSRP 28,830). 11566 Zip Code for either 3 years/30k miles or 3 year/36miles (haven't decided yet). I want to only pay first month and TTL (zero cap reduction?). What should I look to be paying per month (Tier 1 credit as well) ? Thanks for the great help in advance!

Need a proposed selling price, before we can calculate a lease payment.

Thank you so much for the information. I called a dealership and it was very straightforward after I told him I've done much research and also told them I was strongly considering a different mid-size sedan unless Mazda showed me a good number.
Without doing much negotiating, the final cap cost was 25,657. I chose 36 months/12k, and the monthly payment (1st month waived) will be 322. Does this make sense? Only the taxes will be upfront. Ideally, I'd like to get this down to sub300, would this be possible? I saw elsewhere that someone was able to get a touring trim w tech for 299.

Do you know what CAP cost I need to negotiate to where it will be 299/month? Do you know which part of the car cost I'll be able to negotiate further? MSRP for this particular is 28,830, but cost of the car before the $2275 rebate is 27,337 plus 595 acquistion fee. I'm in NY, so the taxes have to be paid up front. But I also have the option of rolling that in. I don't mind rolling it into the lease, as long as I can get the lease payment down to 299 a month before rolling in the tax. Thanks again for the help!

If you want to save $23/mo, then the cap cost needs to come down about $800 (23 x 36)
Money factor and residual are correct. $2275 lease cash.
I get $287/mo.+tax. Seems like you could negotiate a bigger discount, given the lease cash.
Just got word from another dealership that they are willing to match the price of the car to $23,065. Given the lease cash of $2275, that should drop the overall price to $20790. What could I expect my payments to be? They are wanting me to go to the dealership to finalize the numbers, so I would love to walk in with an expectancy.

Hello, now that the new numbers for September are in, what is the residual, money factor, any incentives for Mazda6 2016, Touring, auto, w/Moonroof/Bose/Satellite Radio Package?
Lease is 36 mo./12k miles. (New Jersey).
How deep do you think dealers will discount below invoice price? Dealer's offer is $ 25,385 (MSRP $27210).
Based on the numbers I have, that is $250 below invoice. Thank you!

Dealer quoting me $1,000 down, $329 per month on fully loaded 2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring with extra package. MSRP is $33,210. 10k per year and 42 months. I'm in Massachusetts, sales tax is 6.25%. I have a Mazda 6 on lease now and will be turning it in. So I should have $2400 in cash and $700 in loyalty. What is the best price? I really want 12k per year and 36 months.

Need to know the adjusted cap cost in order to figure the payment.
Can I please have MF/Residual for a 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD with Bose/Sunroof for 98036 WA. Just went to the dealer and they quoted this:
Initial Cap Cost: $27,669 L.E.V: 60% or $17,127 Acquisition Fee $595 Money Factor: .00051 Cash Cap Reduction: $1,641.39 Total Sales Tax: $1,669.94 (10.1% sales tax) Document Fee: $180 Initial Fee: $17.75 Adjusted Cap Cost: $26,622.61 Customer Cash Down: $2,000
Lease Payment: $314.10
For some reason this isn't adding up for me and I feel the Money Factor is high. Any help is appreciated.
.00001 MF and 60% residual for 36/12.
The money factor is marked up the maximum allowed from the base amount. Total Sales Tax is not a part of the payment calculation, as WA taxes the monthly payment (informational line, only). You don't list the MSRP ($28,545?)
So, the discount is about $880 Money factor is marked up Looks like you are putting up $2000 + the 1st payment? Hard to tell from the info. Otherwise, it doesn't add up with the extra charges.
The calculations are correct. It just doesn't look like that great of a deal. The money factor markup adds about $24/mo. to the payment.
