I thought we went thru this before, and everybody said 'don't do it'. I guess you want everybody now to say 'do it'.

If you must have Navi, you might want to consider waiting for the 07 TL when the next gen Navi (such as in the 06 Accord) appears. Plus I doubt you'll see $17K for a 4.5 year old TL. Hope you do.

Hi and yes I remember that but then I owed 34k and was considering BUYING a new one...now I owe 29k and am considering LEASING...what do you think I'd get for my TL in 4.5 years? approximately? and also where did you get the info on the new Navi for 07? in what way will it be different? Thanks for the info and looking forward to your reply!
    Thanks

Hey, I live in Chapel Hill in and I'm trying to buy TL at Performance Acura (it's a bit small place). Are they okay? do they play dirty tricks? I mean, I saw some posts people buying TL for almost 30k...kinda got shocked...just wondering HOW did you do it...help..I'm an amature..
  • goodegggoodegg Member Posts: 905
I live in NC too. I don't think we're getting the prices these guys in CA and TX are experiencing. But go to the Acura website and request quotes from all the dealers within 50 miles and see what you come up with. Luckily the car is the same at all the dealers so you can compare apples. If you have a trade leave that out of your inital quote seeking. You may have to travel to Cary, Fayetteville, or Greensboro to hammer home the best deal.

31K is a good target price here.

Is there anyone in this area who has bought from Montano Acura in Albuquerque? I'm looking at possibly getting an '06 TL from there and would appreciate any/all feedback you might have. Thanks!

I suggest that you also contact the internet salesperson at Appletree Acura, Fletcher, NC (just south of Asheville, near Asheville airport). I purchased my 04 TL 6 speed from Appletree for a great price, and they were courteous and straightforward. I compared prices at Acura dealers in Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Knoxville, TN, but Appletree/Fletcher, NC won my business, which will also include a RDX purchase in 2006. If you purchase at Appletree, the first drive down from the mountains on I-40 will be a blast for you! Good luck.

    Hi group

Thanks to the info shared in this group. After moving from Chicago a few weeks ago, bought my 06 TL w/ navi w/ protection package, all weather floor mats and sunroof visor for 32500+TTL. Negotiated the deal through internet before arriving Philly. Great car. :D
  • tneary78tneary78 Member Posts: 11
Congratulations, that is a really good price. The best we could get was 32,600 and that was the last week in Dec. We really did not haggle too much since we wanted to go with a local dealer, Piazza in Reading. I wish we were able to work out the all weather floor mats though, it has been a very muddy winter. What dealer did you go through?
  • psiupsiu Member Posts: 7
Thank you. it is montgomeryville acura. Good service too!
  • tneary78tneary78 Member Posts: 11
They seem to be really willing to make a deal. They gave us the best offer at the start, without needing to haggle. Piazza matched the first offer from Montgomerville so we went with them. I am pretty sure we could have gotten a better deal from Montgomeryville, but Piazza is more convienent for service. Did you have a trade-in?

My wife and I are trying to make a final decision between a TL and TSX. We went and test drove both for the first time yesterday. I am making my final decision on which one I want, then I will negotiate price.

The two dealers I checked both had 30 - 50 TL's on the lot. One dealers had 0 TSX's and the other had 4 (He said the only reason I caught him with 4 was because he just received the shipment Friday).

With the TSX selling like crazy, and the TL sales seeming to be a little stagnant do you think Acura could offer any type of dealer incentive in the near future? Right now I am leaning towards the TSX, but if the TL was a thousand or so cheaper I may lean the other way.

Off topic, but why does the TL have a cassette player? They need to get rid of this, it just makes it look outdated.

By the way, I loved how both cars drove. I don't think I can go wroong either way.

The TL and TSX are different auto classes. The TL is more luxurious, has a bigger interior and better engine. It is also more expensive. I would not allow myself to be swayed by how many of a particular car are on the lot... it makes sense that the cheaper cars will sell more than the entry luxury model.

    Good luck with your hunt.
  • laurasdadalaurasdada Member Posts: 5,208
It seems unlikely that a new TL would be 1k cheaper than a new TSX. You're right, both are winners but I preferred the smoother, more powerful 6 in the TL. As well as more luxury touches and superior style. And, as a child of the '70s, I'm thrilled to have a casette player! I've still got dozens of fab casettes! No 8 tracks, not quite that old! ;)

I have two sets of number on the table. On a lease, they are willing to give me the TL with Nav for 565/month, taxes included, 36 months 15K miles zero down. If I finance they are willing to give it to me for 32800 +ttl.
They are promising me 5.9% but i'm not sure if i will actually get it. Which set of numbers look like the better deal for this car?

I'm getting ready to buy an '06 TL AT Navi with black/camel or blue/parchment. Has anyone had any experiences with metro Seattle (or even Portland) dealers? I'm also curious about final purchase prices in this area.

On a different note, I've seen some discussions about internet shopping, etc. Is it valuable to request online quotes or just go to each dealer and talk to them in person. There are four Acura dealers in the Seattle area and two in Portland so I'm hoping to have some leverage in negotiating.

Thanks for all the great posts... I think this will help!
  • mjsabmjsab Member Posts: 1
I'm in Seattle as well. Last week I solicited quotes (via the internet) from 3 Seattle dealers and 2 in Portland for an '06 TL AT w Navigation. I have yet to submit my actual offer to any, but both Portland dealership quotes are about $1,500 below the Seattle quotes. My goal is to have a deal in place within the next week.
  • psiupsiu Member Posts: 7
No, I did not have a trade-in. Also, because of timing, I missed the low interest rate offer from Acura.
  • psiupsiu Member Posts: 7
I was told by my dealer that the TL is the best seller among the acura cars lineup. The reason why there are fewer TSX on the lot is because Acura set a very low manufacturing quota for the TSX.

Best of luck on your purchase.
  • ontopontop Member Posts: 279
TL does outsell TSX. But the redesigned TSX is selling great now - might explain the smaller numbers on the lots

Hey everyone, I am looking for a new 2006 Acura TL, automatic, without navigation in the Houston area. What are current out-the-door prices like in Houston? I would like to buy within the next couple of weeks.

    Any recommended dealer(s)?

Has anyone driven the TSX? Thoughts vs. the TL? I have an RSX now and am ready to get rid of it. Looking to step up but not sure I want to spend the extra bucks to skip the next step up (TSX)and go straight to the TL.

From what I can tell, it (the TSX) has all of the fun bells & whistles I love in the TL (Bluetooth, leather, XM, nav).

    Thoughts?

Got a quote on TL no nav w/ wheel locks and mud gaurds:
    $31,200
Invoice on TL w/ deliv is $30,999 (w/o the wheel locks or mud gaurds); Edmund's TMV is $32,629
    I live in MA.
What do people think about this price?
  • minimanminiman Member Posts: 85
I drove both, actually like the TSX a lot but it's on the small side for me, part of the reason I am buying is to upgrade from Integra (too small); not sure the TSX will take me where I want to be size-wise with 3 kids (who hate going in my Integra - it's the 4-dr one - b/c rear seat too tight).

I really like the shape of the (fake) wood accent stripe on the TSX dash - it looks like BMW. (I am going to get the lighter Acura interior w/ the faux-wood instead of faux-carbon w/ darker leathers).

However, TSX (vs TL) is lighter on some features:
    4 cyl 205 hp vs V6 w/ 258 hp
    Manual lumbar vs power
    Inerior space
In TL: Tire pressure monitoring, trip computer, dusk sensing headlamps, outside rr view mirrors tilt down in reverse, driver seat memory includes outside rr view mirrors.

TSX is, to my understanding, a European Accord fancied up to compete in US as Acura (read Opel and Caterra). They did a nice job, but I am not sure many shoppers in the TL size category would be happy with TSX. Better to get Accord V6 EX; similar price, slightly lower on features but larger on size.

Last comment: Kiplinger's estimated resale value on TSX (rated best resale in $23-30K range) is nearly identical vs TL (rated best in class and best resale $31-45K):
At 3 years both 68% :shades:
    At 5 years 54% / 53%
Interesting to see some comparisons; the following cars are listed with #'s for 3 and 5 yr resale values:
    Accord EX 61/44%; Accord EX V6 55/41
    Maxima SE 48/34
    G35 AWD 4dr 67/51

I've been quoted from internet manager at a local dealer for $33,700. This is about $2,200 off MSRP and roughly around $900 over invoice. Is this a good deal for the Houston area? Personally I feel I could get this closer to invoice with a little negotiating. What do you guys think?
  • jay_diegojay_diego Member Posts: 4
Norm Reeves Acura of Mission Viejo. I dealt with their internet department. The person I got my deal with quit the day before I picked up my car and the remaining people there seemed a bit surprised at the price she agreed to. So you may not get the same deal...but should be within few hundred dollars.

Looking for prices for Auto w/Navi in DC-Baltimore area.

Is anyone getting at or below invoice ( 32,800) before TTL? Any add ons.

    Thanks

Just ordered a 06 TL auto with Nav, protection pac (wheel locks, mud guards and trunk liner), and all weather mats for 32,295 plus tax and tags. Includes destination charge. I used e-loan for financing-- was cheaper and very simple. I pick up car on tues feb 14th. Hopefully all will go well, but i dont think there will be any problems. I am in the suburbs of philly

Where did you buy the nuvi 350 from. thx
  • montyburnzmontyburnz Member Posts: 17
Are you sure about the dusk sensing headlights? I don't think the TL has it.
  • ontopontop Member Posts: 279
That's a good price! It may not be what these California buyers are getting, but its still a good price. Especially if they have the color/interior you're looking for ready to go. And if its still in its 'wrapper' and nobody's test driven it and floored it repeatedly when its not broken in yet, that's a bonus IMO.

Yea man! Buy it now before somebody else does.

Has anyone in or around Memphis, TN recently purchased an 06 TL w/nav? What was the price/dealer??
  • minimanminiman Member Posts: 85
Disk sensing headlamps :surprise: is a feature listed on Edmunds - but I just looked in my TL brochure and it's not in there. Any TL owners out there who can comment?
  • montyburnzmontyburnz Member Posts: 17
I think edmunds is wrong. I looked in my manual and I couldn't find anything. There is a sun sensor but that's only used for the climate control and doesn't control the headlights. I'm almost 100% the TL doesn't have dusk sensing headlights. At least, not for the US models.

Any idea what 2007 Acura TL look like ?

what dealer in MA? I live in MA and am getting ready to price a TL and TSX
  • notjafonotjafo Member Posts: 63
the TSX board has a tsx v tl discussion, but it hasn't been added to recently.

they aren't fully comparable - the tl is definitely bigger and a bit plusher and other amenities (tho no foglights and no rear fold down) The feel and drive a bit diferentlyy (I have only driven MTs of each - can't speak to the autos). If it's only the size you care about, and not some of the other amenities, don't overlook the 6cyl accord EX.

I'm deciding between these same 2 cars, and it's not easy to know if the TL is worth more because there is more to it thatn the slightly larger size, etc, there is also the way each drives. I can't help but think that from a pure driving experience you'll have more fun pushing the TSX around than the TL. But if I want 2 passengers in the back on regular occasions, then the TL gets bonus points.

Nobody said this was easy, but it's fun to explore!
  • montyburnzmontyburnz Member Posts: 17
The TL does have foglights. It may look like they don't because they're in the same area as the regular headlights and not separate like the TSX and most other cars.

    Hi:

I shopped for my '05 TL at Clair and Acura of Boston. Both decent experiences, both willing to negotiate. I bought at A of B as they gave me more for my trade. Too bad, spent most of my time at CLair, but they just weren't interested in my trade. No hard feelings, I'd recommend shopping at both.

I was able to get a 06 TL w/ Navi for $34,950 out the door at Leith in Cary. Excluding the iPod and spoiler(not sure what they cost), you should be paying about $2k less than what I paid....$32,950(+ iPod and spoiler) OTD. Performance Acura was full of $%*!....all they do is try and get you in the showroom regardless if they have the car you want.
  • tcw3tcw3 Member Posts: 8
I had a bad experience with Performance but got the lowest quote from them. I took it to Leith and they matched it. We are definately not getting the best deals in NC. I got an 06 TL w/ Navi. for $34,900(price includes taxes/tags/doc fee)
  • notjafonotjafo Member Posts: 63
this number doesn't help the readers here unless you tell us what the price is BEFORE taxes and tags - those vary by state, while doc fee varies by dealer and is part of the total price before TTL
  • needashowerneedashower Member Posts: 39
Invoice pricing is common here in the Chicago area. Most dealers are offering $31K wo Navi. One dealer I found is offering $500 under invoice. Definitely a better deal (upfront)than a G35X and more space than the 325XI which felt cramped. One other thing, Honda Accord EX V6 sedans can be had for $24K, this is a great buy although I think the TL is worth the extra $7K.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
I was waiting to hear from someone who purchased from Leith in Cary. I am also intrested in hearing frmo your experience there. I have not been there however looking at their online inventory they have quit a few TLs with nav.
  • goodegggoodegg Member Posts: 905
I'm in NC. Leith in Cary was the highest of the internet quotes I received. They have a take it or leave it 'tude. Try Flow in Greensboro. Or even Leith in Fayetteville where I bought. I don't think we get the selection and competitiveness in NC others have since we're spread out more, but you'll find a decent deal if you're willing to drive a bit. And trade-in value matters big. It can swing the total deal from great to average. But when you find the exact car you want and its ready to go for you, sometimes you just gotta say do it.
