Who was a dealer offering you car $500 below invoice?
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
Hey thanks leadfoot6.. I have been to Crown in Greensboro however I did not ask for a price.. I have yet to go to Cary or Fayetteville. I wont ask prices via e-mail or over the phone I perfer to go in person. If I purchase (no trade) in the next 30 days I think maybe 34.5 to 35k OTD for a 06 Auto with Nav.

Needashower, please advise what dealers are offering these types of deals? If I have to drive to Chicago to purchase I would stil be saving money!
  • leerxleerx Member Posts: 4
I wound up buying it at Sussman Acura. Montgomerville Acura and Sussman Acura are very competitive with each other and i was able to use that to drive down the price..
  • needashowerneedashower Member Posts: 39
Invoice pricing was offered at Continental in Aurora, and Pauly in Libertyville. McGrath Acura offered to "beat your best deal" by $500 dollars. All through email with a $53 doc fee.

I am in Philly. What did you pay before taxes, etc.? Did Piazza try to add any dealer fees or add ons?
  • tkstump12tkstump12 Member Posts: 5
Can you say who the guy was you dealt with at Park Avenue Acura? I'm in Philly but would be willing to drive up there for that price.

No....they can't say who the guy was...

The deal and dealership were very above board,i got a very competitive price, and the whole transaction was painless....I feel I got a great deal due to year end purchase, special financing, and the numbers game dealers use to develop there inventory for next year, total monthly and year end sales, and dealer ranking amongst other Acura dealers

i cannot mention the specific salesperson but I know other people who have purchased at Park Avenue and had pleasurable experiences...Not sure what the pricing structure is at the current time

    David,

What was your final price? I'm on the Eastside and may be purchasing soon.

Has anyone bought a TL in Austin, TX recently? Any prices close to (or below) invoice? Also, any experiences (good or bad) with dealers in Austin?
  • rrwonrrwon Member Posts: 1
I just got a quote in Long Island for $33.2K and $36.2K OTD. Also, 60 mo financing is rather high at 6%. From reading the different posts, this seems pretty high. Anyone in the NY Metro area get a better deal? thanks
  • minimanminiman Member Posts: 85
Anyone out there in Eastern MA have experience or comments on Acura of Boston vs Herb Connolly in Framingham?
  • jmzootjmzoot Member Posts: 7
I got quoted 32,900 from Ramsey Acura in NJ.. I dealt with the manager and I didnt try getting any lower... Also called me to say some special 4.9% financing deal....

I hae to check my emails but I thought I also got quoted 32,700 from some local dealer.. have to check who...
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
Compare OTD prices in your area and forget about quotes.
  • mikefm58mikefm58 Member Posts: 2,882
Or just compare the price without including tax, tag & title.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
"Or just compare the price without including tax, tag & title."

That may be nice if he provides information for other people...however if he is going to compare prices on his own it is best to get the OTD price.
  • tneary78tneary78 Member Posts: 11
Price before tax was 32,600. This was a 2006/w navi, wheel locks, mud flaps, and trunk tray.

    $55 Document fee
    $33.50 Registration fee
    $5 PA Tire tax
    $14.15 On-line title/registration fee
    $15.85 On-line dealer service fee

All in all we were pretty satisfied with the experience. We probably could have gotten a better deal closer to Philly, but Reading was more convienent.
    Good Luck

I want to buy an '06 TL with Nav. and spoilers. Namely, the front airdam, side underbody, rear underbody and the small trunk lip spoiler ( not the wing ).

Btw, I do NOT want an A-spec TL.

Has anyone purchased a vehicle similar to this ?? What did you pay for the spoiler package ? Thanks in advance !

bought mine dec.7 at classic in Beaumont paid 34 even. excellent buying experience. not an exceptional deal but much better than I could get in Louisiana at the time. This was the time people were getting insurance claims paid from Hurricane Katrina and new cars were selling like crazy.
  • mashingmashing Member Posts: 5
Was that an OTD price achenator as 34k is what I'm looking to pay OTD (this region seems to be horrible for paying under or even slightly over invoice--atleast that's what my research has led me to believe).
  • stevebaltomdstevebaltomd Member Posts: 8
Your purchase is the best I've seen to date for 06 TL AT/w Navi....That's $500 under invoice and when you add in extras its more like $800+ under. Is this to good to be true? Did they honor the deal?

hey guys I'm new to the forum! Looking for the best possible starting invoice price quote for a 2006 TL w/navigation system in chicagoland.
  • ckrelingckreling Member Posts: 23
Two dealers are offering the TL with Nav at invoice. Seems interesting that that is the going rate. Any one done better in the SF Bay Area and especially the East Bay.
  • rootbeerrootbeer Member Posts: 3
Was quoted a price of $31,967 + tax on a TL without Nav in the Metro Detroit area

Please let me know if this is a good price. If not, please let me know the target price I should be asking for from the dealer.
  • goodegggoodegg Member Posts: 905
Looks kinda high but you may not be in the markets that seem to get the lower prices (LA, Texas, San Diego). Prices in NC are about $31K. If you have a trade that will cloud the real price you're paying.

    bobz,

I live in Orange County and I just purchased my TL (no nav) for 33,000 OTD or around 30,300. This included splash guards. Went to a dealership in Santa Monica thanks to references from this site. The best OTD price I saw for SoCal was 32,9something. I might have haggled for a few hundred more but my sense from talking to about 7 other dealerships was that it was the best I could do. I'd like to get some feedback too on the price I paid.

    This is a great site!
  • mptlptrmptlptr Member Posts: 17
eddie23 - looks like you paid about $700 less than invoice, good deal. I bought an '06 TL 6MT w/nav and performance tires for 32,400 (invoice -$600) before TTL at Sierra Acura in Alhambra. No extras, didn't want them.
  • needashowerneedashower Member Posts: 39
How can these under invoice deals be real? Is there a deal incentive in play or is it supply and demand?
  • ckrelingckreling Member Posts: 23
Acura of Concord, CA gave me a black on black TL w/ Navi for Invoice and the protection package for FREE. Also got what I wanted on my trade. I think it is supply and demand. O just got an email from Niello Acura in Sacramento saying htey had to sell 60 acuras by the end of the month.

    Charles :)
  • mptlptrmptlptr Member Posts: 17
Dealers get a holdback of 3% of MSRP which works out to be around $1000 for TLs. Who knows, maybe there are some other secret incentives as well. Generally you can get better deals in the big market areas (such as LA).

I plan on purchasing an Acura TL (automatic) with NAV in the next few weeks. Please share with me any recent experiences you have had with dealerships within a 2 hour drive of DC. Chevy Chase (MD) is my local dealer, but I know people who have also purchased from Radley in VA and Tisher in MD. How close are the prices to (or below) invoice? Have you done your deals over the internet or in person? Thanks for your help!! :)
  • stevebaltomdstevebaltomd Member Posts: 8
I purchased same equipped TL at Tischer for about 300 over invoice in Nov. At that time it was a very good deal. Now I think you can do better or throw in few extras based on what I been reading in the recent posts. I didnt quote with Chevy Chase or VA dealers....stuck with Baltimore/Annapolis area. I favored Tischer since on the way to work...easy in/out for service from I-295. You may want to consider service dept bennies as well vs just price alone.

I did in person and internet. I used the internet initially to establish pricing market and to reach out to dealers farther away. But I believe you'll get your best price in person. I did use Email/phone call with the salesman to speed things along.

Best play is not to be in a hurry or too eager to buy. Do your research, set your price (with a few extras) and stick. Let the dealing cool off if not meeting your bottom line...they'll come around if not too unreasonable. Keep the prices on same par with others - try not to get too mixed up with TTL and other fees.

Looking to purchase another TL for a friend next month. Please let me know how you faired.

    Good luck - S/Baltimore

" try not to get too mixed up with TTL and other fees. "

I agree with you in regards to TTL, but all dealer fees have to be included in the price to come up with the figure the dealer is getting.

TL 6-speed manual left over from 2005
Got it at $29750 + 4.9% honda financing.
    Excellent car!

    Hi,

My Audi A4 seems to be heading out of my hands and I need a new, more reliable car, TL seems to fit the bill so far.

So, any recommendations for anywhere in NJ ? What price should I set for on an automatic TL, no NAV ?
  • tlsharktlshark Member Posts: 21
i was just wondering what year your audi a4 was. and if u think its a good car overall
  • howparlawhowparlaw Member Posts: 5
Thanks Stevebaltomd. Are there any more recent TL w/Nav experiences out there? I suspect that year end pricing for 2005 may be less than prices now, although a snowy February probably has kept inventories higher than dealers would like!
  • rbk1rbk1 Member Posts: 5
I also have an Audi 1.8T quattro (2002) it is a great car; but my 4 years free maintenance and warranty are up and thought it would be a good time to purchase a new car. The Audi is a 5 speed manual and I would like to continue that way. Was looking mainly at TSX (manuals are hard to find). Found 1 today and the dealer threw into the mix the idea of purchasing a 2005 TL 6-speed with 100 demo miles for 28,500. Does this sound reasonable? If one wanted a TL would 31K for a 2006 be a better deal? What does the 2006 have that the 2005 doesn't? Edmunds mentioned Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Anything else new for 2006? :confuse:

Just bought a 2006 TL Navi AT w/splash guards and wheel locks for $32.3 plus TTL in Los Angeles. Ended up going with Santa Monica Acura - and they were excellent. Several other dealerships were willing to match once I got that quote from one of the other dealers, but santa monica was closer drive and seemed to have better reputation than most. Acura 101 West also seemed to be on the up and up.

Fleet mgrs are definitely the way to go.

I'm looking to get an 06 TL with Nav in the next couple of weeks, but the best quote I've gotten so far is for about $33,200, which seems a little high compared to other. Does anyone who's made a purchase in the Dallas, TX area have any suggestions about which of the local dealers give thebest price?

    Thanks!!
  • findealfindeal Member Posts: 1
I'm also shopping for TL w/ NAV. so far the best price is $33,370 from dealer in near I-20 (Vander...) where are you getting your from?

    Many thanks in advance.

I'd like to know your opinion - how to press on the dealer (or whether I should):
I bought nice Acura 3.2 TL '03 (with 45k). I made two test drives with this car (over all about 20+ miles). I sealed the deal and on the way home from the dealership the engine light went on. I brought back next day and their inspection concluded that transmission needed to be replaced (sorry, at this moment I do not know exact details what went wrong). Is this a lemon? I should add that the car is "certified" (+ dealer's 12m/12k extended warranty) and still has manufacturer's warranties.
    Thanks.
  • starman98starman98 Member Posts: 119
Goodson seems to give the best deals.
  • mikefm58mikefm58 Member Posts: 2,882
I don't believe Lemon laws apply to used cars. Just have the dealer fix/replace the tranny under the certified warranty.
  • susanb2susanb2 Member Posts: 1
The finance guy at the dealership is encouraging the tire/wheel protection program because the way the tires are inflated, they can go flat more easily. Is this so? The price is 400 and covers 100% replacement and labor.
  • tailstootailstoo Member Posts: 8
I've talked to Goodson, Vandergriff, David McDavid and Mac Churchhill. (the next dealer according to acura's web site is 182 miles away in Austin!) While Goodson hasn't given me the best price so far, the Internet manager seems like a good guy, and I will most certainly give him first shot when I'm ready to buy. And I don't get the deal I want, my current car runs fine.. the TL is much more of a want than a need.
  • mikefm58mikefm58 Member Posts: 2,882
Sounds like a tire hazard insurance policy that might include the wheels in the event they're scratched for example by a curb. I'd bet there's all kinds of fine print that would exclude almost anything. I've never heard of anything like this so I'd recommend to save your money.

It's quite common to buy road hazard protection for tires when an entire set is purchased. It usually sells for about $15 a tire. But I've never seen one that includes the wheels.
  • leerxleerx Member Posts: 4
Hi. I had to wait a few days to pick up the car but then managed to also get the special 4.9% financing offered for president's day. It was delivered as promised with everything i had negotiated included. Mats, wheel locks, trunk liner and all weather mats for $32,295 and TTL. If your in the philly area definitely shop Montgomeryville Acura and Sussman Acura and let them compete for you!! and that price included the nav system :)
