The deal was painless, the dealership very professional and courteous,THERE WAS NO SLIME FACTOR, the sales representative was a trip, very knowledgeable and helpful upon delivery, No high pressure just a deal made that was good for buyer and seller
By the way,how did I do fellow owners??
Thanks.
Dealer won't return my phone calls about my plates now I am scared my temp. plates are expired and nobody will inform me where the new ones are.
Still have not gotten the title and no clue when I will.
Dealer lied to me, refused to tell me what kinda oil the car needed, threw me out the door like an old shoe.
Very disappointed. David McDavid won't be winning any CS awards that is for sure.
So for those in the DWF area you might want to stick to Goodson or Mac Churchhill.
Total would be $33,500 + Tax = $36305
I wanted to confirm with anyone if this was a good deal.
Thanks

just bought o6 TL w/ NAV for $31,900 New Years Eve-- however there's a short in the shifting mechanism (2nd time driving it), requring the replacement of the entire shifting assembly and the dealer would not take the car back- states that the factory screwed up but he cannot afford to take the loss. Of course, the factory does not want to do anything about it except to repair a "BRAND NEW CAR". I would sincerely be very concerned about the quality control of the TLs.
Again, this post stresses the importance of actually test driving the car you are planning to buy carefully and thoroughly so you know what you are getting. I suspect if you are having these issues on the second time you drove this car, they were probably there the first time, you probably just didn't pay attention.
Acura is a very well designed and assembled make, but every make will have a few cars that are not quite up to snuff, as no assembly process is perfect.
As you drove it, liked it, bought it, and accepted it, you now own a USED CAR that will be repaired. Your only chance a getting a refund or a new car is probably if the car meets lemon law standards, which at this time it probably does not.
Of course, you may be working for Acura, and that's fine. I'm just simply stating my experience on the forum. Acura may be a great make; nevertheless, the quality control failed in this car. A great manufacturer should step up to the plate and take care of their mistakes and do all they can to reach customer satisfaction. In this case, Acura failed. How many consecutive hours can a person test-drive a car!?
A quote on Implied Warranty based on FTC language:
'State laws hold dealers responsible if cars they sell don't meet reasonable quality standards. These obligations are called implied warranties - unspoken, unwritten promises from the seller to the buyer. However, dealers in most states can use the words "as is" or "with all faults" in a written notice to buyers to eliminate implied warranties. There is no specified time period for implied warranties. If you have a written warranty that doesn't cover your problems, you still may have coverage through implied warranties. That's because when a dealer sells a vehicle with a written warranty or service contract, implied warranties are included automatically. The dealer can't delete this protection. Any limit on an implied warranty's time must be included on the written warranty.'
Hence, your car will be repaired and not replaced/reimbursed unless the Lemon Law applies, as warranties do not generally guarantee replacement but allow a manufacturer to repair. Your car appeared to work fine upon delivery per your statements, so it was good when it was new, as far as anyone could tell. Heck, maybe you were somehow reckless and damaged it after delivery.
You can reference the Lemon Law at Lemon Law America state-by-state. Most states require recurring problems with attempts to repair for the same problem, not a first time problem. Per your statements, this is not the case. The problem occurred after you took delivery of the car, hence it is a used car subject to repair.
I wish you the best of luck in resolving your situation, and if what you state is true, you apparently got a car with assembly issues, or maybe it got damaged after purchase (again, no way for me to know.)
Also, I do not work for Acura nor do I care to. I can only surmise that you made this statement because you don't agreem with my statements, and you somehow associate disagreement with working for the 'enemy'.
My understanding of this forum is to engage in discourse, receive opinions and advise. By posting your questions and statements, you are inviting others to comment and respond, possibly with information that you find useful, possibly not. This is a productive activity.
You may not agree with my statements, and that is fine with me. But your assertions about my knowledge or employment are baseless and unsubstantiated. I personally suggest you keep your comments to the nature of your issues as opposed to your unfounded perceptions of the nature of the posters. Your baseless statements about my background or employment will have no bearing on the outcome of your issue.
As much of a chance there is that I work for Acura, you may have the same chance of having taken your car and redlined it in first gear for 2 hours straight after taking delivery, or driven it offroad, damaging the car (as preposterous as this sounds, it could be true, I suppose.)
Does this sound like a good deal for a non-nav?
I've read everything on this forum an I think its great, I have learned alot!!!
The dealers here in NC, from Fayetteville to Chapel Hill are not good at working deals at all.
thanks
thanks...any ideas?
PS I want to tint my windows so I really need chrome to contrast.thanks for your time! and thanks in advance to all.
I think it gives a car a very simple, clean, monolithic look, as opposed to chrome accents which definitely have more of the 'flash' element.
Good luck in your search. I suspect there are aftermarket parts for this. Might try some of the dedicated TL zines and boards for this.

Sorry to rain on your parade, however consider this a learning experience.
First, timing is everything. Regardless of where you live, it would appear had you waited until the end of December, you probably could have purchased a new '06 (non-navi) for the same price as it appears you paid for the '04.
Second, I need more information as to your current loan term and interest rate, although I would guess you are at 6% on a 48 month term. Understand that at the end of your payments, you will own the car and the value it has at that time. At the end of a lease you own nothing and may owe more money for additional mileage, excess wear and tear, etc. So you could be out of a car as well as out of pocket.
Third, unless you have the rural US mail delivery route in west Texas, how much do you really need navigation?
Personally, I would keep the car and if you would like, spend a couple bucks on rims and tires to make it your own.
Just my 2 cents.
Enjoy your car.
You could always buy an aftermarket navigation system. OK, it won't be integrated with your vehicle's audio and climate control systems, but it will perform beautifully for under $1K.
I've got an OEM Honda Navigation System in my 2004 Accord. It's great. But I recently purchased this Garmin nüvi 350 navigation system (they call it a personal travel assistant) for my wife's car.

It works very well, fits in a shirt pocket, and has received glowing reviews. I paid $694 plus shipping.
please advise
thanks
