Hey Mike, can you make your e-mail available to viewers of your profile ASAP? I have an important question for you regarding that quote you got from Keyes Acura.
  • richey02hgrichey02hg Member Posts: 69
for those that have not seen yet acura.com is advertising special financing until january 2nd

3.9% for 36 months or less
    4.9% for 37-60 months

I hope this does not mean that the dealers will be expecting us to pay MSRP til the new year cause Im definetly not going for that :)

    Zoom12,

Did you get free wheel locks and mud guards? Any other freebie u got?
  • lhklhk Member Posts: 2
It was Acura of Seattle. They still have a few cars left. But I was not sure of the colors. Since my wife liked silver and they had the color, we just went for the car. It is w/o nav.

A friend bought of mine just bought a new 2006 TL w/ Nav for $29,599 + TTL in Falls Church, Va @ Radley Acura. My friend and I were both in the market for a 2006 TL w/ Nav, but I ended up buying a new 2006 RL instead b/c I got a deal I could not pass on with the RL. About a month after I got the RL, my friend went back and sealed the deal with the same sales person on the TL. I think he got an incredible deal! I would highly recommend Radley Acura for anyone buying in Northern, VA. Good luck!

After doing a little research and reading your posts I figured I had enough ammo to go out and start negotiating. What are your thoughts on a quote for an '07 TL w/ Nav. for $34,425? Any thoughts? Too much? Good deal? Run and hide?

Thanks again for all the help. This forum has been so helpful.

I just drove home my 2006 TL Nav MT. I paid 28,800+TTL. I think this is among the lowest prices I have seen on here. Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, VA. I dealt with one of the internet sales managers. Great experience. They have 10 MT left in stock according to what he told me, no auto.
  • carteachcarteach Member Posts: 179
Congratulations. That's an incredible price. Enjoy your car and your navi. What color did you get?
  • kingcharles1kingcharles1 Member Posts: 3
    Black on black. I'm pumped.

    Its getting to crunch time....

Just got off the phone with a Sales Person

    No more new 2006 Tl

    But they have a Demo

    2006 Tl with Navi Auto
    Grey/Grey
    4000K Miles

    Asking 29500

What you guys Think? How much Should I offer..If I decide to get this Tl

    Also Im from the BayArea
  • stefystefstefystef Member Posts: 17
Wow, that's the price I'd love to get, but I'm in NYC, so the best I got so far was $29,600 for a MT with Navi but it was silver.

For the black/ebony, I got quoted $30,819 about $2,000 more than you paid. Wow, I know you have to be so excited. Congrads. I wish I could get the guy to come down some more. I'm going to the dealership on Long Island tomorrow, so we'll see how things go.

On 11/4 rec'd offer of $30,995 for 06 TL w/Navi and Pro Pack. See my post of 11/6. Since that time I have researched and test driven many cars. 07 G35x is a much improved car over the 06 G35x model but dealers are not offering good deals on the G35. Recently announced financing rates merit a return visit to the Acura dealership. Salesman confirmed he has a few 06 TL Auto w/Navi left. Also has one 06 demo with 5500 miles. What is a good discount (vs. $30,995 for non-demo) for the demo model?
  • hemanthmhemanthm Member Posts: 4
Last night I bought a 06 TL without NAV for 28,100 from Metro acura near philadelphia airport. Added accessories for $270( Wheel Lock + trunk tray+splash guard). Got a 4.9% apr for 48 months. Doc fee = 80 dollars. State of delaware registration 2.7% = $750. Very happy with the deal. The internet manager was very helpful and had a smooth transition.
Thanks to the promoters of this website and everyone who posted their best deals that they have got. I would not have got this deal with out this forum and this same forum helped me three years back in getting a good deal on my lexus RX330 which I bough from Silver spring,Maryland.
  • carteachcarteach Member Posts: 179
Congratulations!!! You got a GREAT deal! I think the best on the board. But, in fairness to DCH Acura, I did got splash guards and wheel locks in my deal. I picked up my car yesterday afternoon. Anthracite Metallic with parchment interior. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! Everyone I met at the dealership was terrific. I hope the dealers who are welcoming, straightforward dealers with salespeople like yours and mine continue to get lots of business by word of mouth.

This forum has been one of the most helpful sites I've used since I've been on the Internet. I learned which cars to stay away from, despite Consumer Reports. I learned the best way to buy a car. And I learned what prices to expect.

Can't ask for more than that.

    Nancy
PS... What color did you get?
  • inkyofokinkyofok Member Posts: 62
what did you do on this? Where I am from $29 would be a great deal but CA seems to have lower prices. I cannot image them not taking $28,500 - but ask for a little extra warranty.
Let us know what you do. I mean 4k miles is nothing to save a little.
  • skyeliuskyeliu Member Posts: 1
I think you can still go down a bit, I heard someone got a quote for $33,255, and someone got a quote for $34k. But when i email the dealer about the quote, they just said no. so which dealer you got your quote from?
  • aguirremlaguirreml Member Posts: 2
Dealer is asking $29k + fees for a certified 2006 TL (anthracite/quartz) with 6,650 miles (no navigation). Is this a good offer? What is a reasonable counter to this offer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  • dampfnudeldampfnudel Member Posts: 131
Keep the invoice price of $33,620 (which includes the dest. fee) and 3% holdback in mind. I think you can do better, say $34,000 based on one dealer I contacted. Maybe even better.
  • kodervillekoderville Member Posts: 15
Well Im going check it out more on Sat morning. want to see the TL with some day light. But I threw them an offer that I thought was fare(28K).If they dont like my offer. then Im off to another dealers that have New 2006.

    So I can go with...
    2006 Tl with Navi(New) for 30900+fees

    Or

    2006 Tl with Navi(Demo) with 4300miles for 29000+fees

Out here in the BayArea....I really think most of the 2006 TL are all gone. I only found 3 dealers that had them in stock. And one had the color I want.

So do you think my offer was too low/high...
  • chaperoahchaperoah Member Posts: 30
Hey y'all. Just bought my '07 Type-S Silver tonight. Got a quote of 35,500 from Kearny Mesa Acura. Wanted to see if anyone would match it. Ball Acura matched it for the same price no questions asked. Went in and got it done. 38K out the door. Awesome experience. Everyone there was incredibly helpful, fast, easy to deal with, honest and patient. Overall great experience.
  • shoresailingshoresailing Member Posts: 29
Well, I bought a Redando Red 06 TL w/Navi and Pro Pack (trunk tray, wheel locks and mud flaps) for $30,795 from Turnersville Acura in south NJ. Also rec'd another $300 on trade-in. Aside from great price, the sales experience was terrific. NO bull****. We had a deal without the usual games. The service and treatment I received at the dealership on a Friday night was terrific.

One day with the TL and I know I made the right choice. As new member of the club, I will need to follow the other discussions. thank you to all that offered their information. Without this site, I would not have gotten such a good deal.

This is the second vehicle purchse this year (XC90 in April). Both deals benefited from these forums.

    Happy Holidays to all!!! :shades:

Congrats on the new buy :)
  • inkyofokinkyofok Member Posts: 62
These are fair offers. I would lean toward the new one but if I know the demo was one driver then that is cool as well.
Either way they will take your deal. Remember, "I will buy today for $ "

Entering the car buying market again after 11 years. I went looking today at the remaining 2006 and new 2007 TL's without the navigation system in the Baltimore/DC area.

After going through a few pages of this forum, I feel like I have a lot to learn before actually making the purchase. The dealer quoted $33K for the 2007 TL and I have a certificate from a car buying service that guarantees $2K off of the price. Does anyone think this is the best deal I could get?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
  • mandesonmandeson Member Posts: 20
You got a great deal since you basically paid invoice. Congrats. Almost made me wish I would have waited another 10 days to get another $500 off my $36K price. Enjoy your car, I love mine so far.
  • chaperoahchaperoah Member Posts: 30
You were incredibly helpful in getting me that price and I owe you a huge thank you! Yeah, I was amazed when I got that quote. The quote included wheel locks, mats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, trunk tray, HP tires, carbon fiber accents. Pretty much fully loaded. Had to bite. Got the manual. I have driven this car about 100 miles so far and this thing is AWESOME. The acceleration, power, smoothness, comfort etc in this car are great.

I am from Philly and am in the market for a 2006 TL
Regarding the car you bought from Metro; did the $28,100 include destination?
  • herbert11herbert11 Member Posts: 22
When I go to negotiate a price for a new 2006 TL is destination charge always excluded from the final price or is it part of the deal?
  • guestguest Member Posts: 770
I know my price of $28,700 included destination charges.
  • marc5554marc5554 Member Posts: 4
Bought many cars but never used internet quoting. The posts on this board make it sound like it's the way to go. I'm looking for an '07 TL/Navi in the Eastern Penna area. Plan to buy before end of December. My question is, what is the best way to request quotes, via Edmunds web site, email dealer direct, or is there a better venue?

    Appreciate any advice.
  • acuratacurat Member Posts: 87
    Herbert,

For boards like this, the standard way to report prices includes the destination charge but excludes tax, title and license. Example: "XY dealer offered to sell me a 2007 TL base AT with navi at $30,000 + TTL, with splashguards, trunk tray and wheel locks included." That way people in different states can compare apples to apples. They can also use data from Edmunds.com to immediately determine where this price falls in relation to dealer invoice.

It is not helpful to report an "OTD" (out the door) price, as this varies depending on local tax rates, documentary fees and DMV fees.

When you negotiate with the dealer--hopefully with the internet sales manager or fleet manager over the phone--you will be talking "Price including destination" (the pre-TTL price of the vehicle) just as on this board.

Marc, see recent posts by me and Geo123 regarding our step-by-step take on the best way to deal. I do it by phone. Email has not been useful to me in negotiating the best price. The dealers do not want you showing something in writing to their competitors. Carteach can show you how it's done! ;)

You're welcome. I'm glad I was able to help get you a good deal. I entertained the idea of getting a manual for about two minutes before I realized that it's just not practical for me due to my daily commute in SoCal gridlock. I agree with you the Type S is awesome. I got my windows tinted yesterday and installed Sirius. Enjoy yours and congrats again...
  • mandesonmandeson Member Posts: 20
Marc I have bought my last 3 cars using the Internet in some form or fashion. Go to acura.com and get the info on the 10 nearest dealers. I agree with what others have said in that it's a good idea to eventually talk directly with the Internet Sales Manager at the dealer. Myself though I always contact them first through their own website where I give them my contact number and what I'm interested in. I wait for them to call or send an email before I talk to them directly. Do your homework on the car you are interested in and have all the numbers written down. Tell them what you are willing to pay and ask them if that's something they are willing to entertain. One thing to keep that in mind is that most ISM's will never commit to a number in writing because they don't want to give you ammunition to use against them.

    Here's the updates....

On Sat...Walk up to the Demo
and right away...I know I didn't want the Demo

The Demo look like a beat up rental
    ...One rim was curbed up
    ...Swirl marks and scratches

I didn't even bother talking to the dealer..I justed turn around and walked back to my car.
So the next a couple days Im going really doing some shopping...Also do you think I can do better than 30800 for 2006 TL Navi. If anbody here still shopping for a 2006 TL in the BayArea.
  • shoresailingshoresailing Member Posts: 29
Deals on 06 TL won't get much better. There are only a handful left and at such good prices they won't last. If you don't act fast you will miss the opportunity for an 06.
  • herbert11herbert11 Member Posts: 22
Just closed a deal on an 06 TL no/nav.

$28,300 & 3.9% for 36 months from Boardwalk Acura in Egg Harbor NJ.

We are really exited about this car. We have been in large GM sedans for the last 30 years.

We were first considering a Buick Lucerne. However, the most important piece of equipment for us is an XM radio since we drive to Florida and back once a year and the XM is terrific. We went to a Buick dealer last summer who had 45 Lucernes in stock. 3 of them had XM radio. And those 3 had useless "options" that really drove up the price. A sunroof is also important and there were very few with sunroofs. None had XM & sunroof. With the TL the only decision was color.

I have always been a "Buy America" guy but GM makes it very difficult. It is easy to see why Honda and Toyota are kicking butt.

I am in the process of negotiating a 2006 TL w/Nav in Eastern Pa, I have them committed on paper to 30,795, but a verbal to go lower (30,500). Does that sound pretty good?
  • inkyofokinkyofok Member Posts: 62
Not sure on west prices but these cars are soon not to be found. $30,800 delivered get some freebees thrown in and make a deal. Get the good financing as well.

I don't know what you are waiting for ... a much lower price. :surprise: Remember many people (though not me) paid MSRP for the same car when it first came out, and they endured quite a few more bugs than us.

Last night I tried purchasing a Pre-owned '06 TL w/ Navi from Acura of Omaha. Car had 16,148 miles and was Acura Certified. The car was in great condition with the exception of a little wear on the drivers seat. They were asking $31,995 and I offered $28,000. They refused to sell it for less than $29,700. Am I the only one that thinks this is rediculous? I walked away. Let me know your opinions.
  • hemanthmhemanthm Member Posts: 4
My price of 28,100 included destination fee.
    Out of door for $28,100 + 270 extras(wheel locks,splash guards + trunk tray) + 2.7% state of de tax + $80 doc fee = $29,215.
  • kodervillekoderville Member Posts: 15
    Hemanthm

Do you know how much there was asking for a 2006TL with navi?

Yesterday I emailed some dealer down LA Area and I got some good quotes..The cheapest I got was 30080 :) and on the phone 29975 :surprise:
Im going email the two dealers here in BayArea maybe they can match it or something
  • stefystefstefystef Member Posts: 17
My boyfriend just bought the '06 TL w/Nav and manual transmissiong (black on black) for $30,819 on Long Island, NY.

If you can get the car in the color you want, with the accessories you want for $30,500, you should go for it. There are very few '06s left. I got lower quotes ($28,900 for a TL w/Navi/manual), but the wrong color (silver).

We paid a little more for the color we wanted because no one else in the NYC area had the manual transmission model. Don't wait much longer.
  • hemanthmhemanthm Member Posts: 4
My dealer in Philly did not have any 06 TL with Navigation. Even my car without naigation ,he sais he is bringing it from south NJ to sell it to me. Not that many 06 TLs left.
  • carteachcarteach Member Posts: 179
I think that was an outrageous price. Try calling dealers all around and see if you can find one in a 100 mile or more radius. Worth the trip. I was told about a navi made by pioneer that is voice activated and tied to real time traffic. I intend to get that instead of built-in.

Let us know how you make out.
  • acuratacurat Member Posts: 87
I'm looking to upgrade to a 2007 base navi (with AT, that's the only way it comes) in the L.A. area. Lease deals are so-so at the moment and I drive close to 18K miles a year so I'll probably purchase.

What kind of numbers and availability have folks been finding out there?

    :confuse:
  • stefystefstefystef Member Posts: 17
Depending on the supply of '06 TL, the 30,800 might be the best you can do.
  • jtm1jtm1 Member Posts: 2
Closed deal tonight at 30,500. Actually a very good experience with the dealer. Good hard negotiations with absolutely no bs. This forum confirmed that I was getting the best deal possible. Thanks to all. :)
  • kodervillekoderville Member Posts: 15
Stefystef...Yeh so ture..Dealers up here are staying firm on the prices. Maybe acouple of hundred bucks here and there. But thats It...
I have a quote now for 30600 with a Pro Pack...They have about 6 TL lefted...So im leaning towards them...

Socal is cheaper...But the time, miles on the car and airfare..is not really worth it for just afew hundreds bucks.
  • chaperoahchaperoah Member Posts: 30
I started getting quotes ~ 1 month before I bought. One thing I learned is that ISM's are fast to respond, but slow to give a price. It seems like right now many dealers are selling 07's (especially the Type-S)somewhat slow (bad time of year for them I guess). If you are looking at an 07 make sure you ask around to as many as possible and use these posts and evidence of prices you can get. I sent out ~8-10 quote requests, and got 2 quotes. The rest were "call us" e-mails. I responded saying I didn't have much time to look right now, just wanted some prices, and if I get the right one, I might bite. It worked for me. Got a below-invoice for a type-s (35,500) from Ball Acura and Kearny Mesa Acura. Went with Ball and it was perfect. To sum up my advice (for what it might be worth): fish early and often and be vigilant. Hope this helps.
