I want to buy a 2005 TL Auto with Navigation. What price should I expect to pay in the Atlanta area. Are there any additional doc fees/acid rain paint protection, etc?. Thanks for your assistance

Go to the MDX prices paid and buying experience section and read post #564. I detail our MDX purchase in that post. You are also more than welcome to send me an e-mail. I called and spoke to the internet sales manager. I told him what I wanted, and he sent me a quote. I received free wheel locks, all season mats, cargo tray and cargo cover. I received a discount on black side steps, and body side molding. I had planned to fly up to Columbus, Ohio to pick it up and drive back, but he offered to deliver it to me for free, which I accepted. Everything was handled by phone, e-mail, and fed-ex. I paid him when he got to DC, and we went to DC DMV ourselves to register and get tags. DC dealers wanted at that time 1k under msrp, and accessories at cost. We got it for $1900 under msrp, plus what I described above. Make sure that you get in touch with me BEFORE you sign anything!

Hi sworks, what was the out the door price you pay for the TL w/Nav. I am also looking for a TL w/Nav on LA area. I am afraid the dealer give a low stick price then add all kinds of junk fee to make the profit. Thanks.

Keyes does not mess around, if you don'w wnat options they will not put any on. There are no out of the ordinay charges on the contract.

OTD for my car was aobut 40K
    33700 for TL Auto/Nav
approx 1075 with 7y/100,000 mile ext war
approx 180 (wheel locks + trunk tray)
    approx 600 lojack install
    approx $1300 4 year 4.24 finance charge.

I don't have the contract in front of me, but that 40K was what I remeber.

Just got a quote for 05 TL W/ NAV for $33,900.00 plus applicable tax and title fee.
This from Lindsay Acura, in Columbus, Ohio Internet price. I thought I read they were dealing about $800 above invoice. This price is about $1500 above invoice but maybe I need to press to show I am a real buyer.

the internet manager at nalley gave me this quote about a month ago, "I will give you a very aggressive price on a in stock 2005 TL - Navi $34,470." when mentioned invoice the negotiations came to an abrupt stop. baranco internet manager said she'd beat anyone's written offer, but i haven't heard anything since then; i asked them to make the 1st offer.

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a try when I'm ready to deal. If they want to sell a car, I will have NO PROBLEM driving to Naperville.

    Thanks

I wish I could give you more help but the rules prevent me from saying my salesmans name, which I do agree on that policy. It's not fair to my salesman because he doesn't have the chance to say his side of the story on this forum as to why he never get back to me on any of my questions. If I were you I would probably go to someone other than who I dealt with at Continental Acura, like someone young and aggressive who will work for his commission as opposed to someone old and seasoned that wants to do the least amount of work for the highest commission.

By the way, yesterday I got my clear 3m bra put on the front end of my car. Looks great and the guy did a good job. I recommend having it done if you do alot of highway driving.

34400.00 out the door is the lowest price I've ever been quoted on this car. Santa Monica and Pasadena. Anyone seen better please let me know. I'm buying next week and I want to pay 34000 even.
  • tcltcl Member Posts: 42
Take the price to Keyes and ask them to beat the price. Most likely they will. Please quote the price before taxes and license. Otherwise it is hard to figure the true price.

Since I enjoyed the info I received from this website during my negotiations on a new 2005 TL (no nav) I would like to post the deal I got in Houston TX.

There are four dealers here and only three were reasonable. John Eagle gave me the best deal ($50 better when we factor in the six free oil changes) but I ended up with Gilman. I got an anthracite/ebony 2005 TL for $31,050 and $33,239 drive-out after TT&L and reasonable misc fees. I negotiated till I was blue in the face and I feel it was the very best deal I could have done.

Note: Do your research and when you are ready to buy wait till the last couple of days of the month and e-mail everybody your best offer. If they are hungry, they will take it!! It worked liek a charm for me.
  • igibanigiban Member Posts: 530
Congrats. That's a very good price, even with a blue face. Did you get any accessory/pro pack for the price?

Your strategy works well for popular colors like anthracite/ebony, but may not be for hard to find rare colors.

    Hi all,

This is my first post. I've just gotten a quote from Rosenthal Acura in Gaithersburg, MD for an 05/NAV/AT for $35,470 Out The Door (includes all taxes 5% MD, and all fees and all other charges. In other words, OTD for sticker. That equates to about $1000 above invoice/ or about $2000 below MSRP.

I went to the dealer with a very knowledgable friend, who helped with the preliminary negotiation.

I'll clinch the deal Friday - IF - I get what I want from Carmax for my leased 03 Acura CLS (I have 8 payments left on a three-year lease, but the mileage is only 8900, and is in near perfect condition. (I'm willing to take a smallish hit, if necessary, but I won't reveal that amount here.)

If all goes as I hope it will, I'll have a 05/NAV/AT white/parchment Friday afternoon. If so, I'll report back.

    Regards,

    Rod

What type of experience have folks had with dealing with the Sales Rep and Internet Mgr separately but at the same dealership? Once I give them my name, do they each know I am working with one another?

I am getting verbal and internet quotes around $33,500 for TL/Nav/6sp in Mass.
  • eddiemaceddiemac Member Posts: 141
I think that you may be able to get a better price at Lindsay. Send me an e-mail(it's in my profile).

Who is the dealer ? $33,500 is not bad at all for the nav.

Speaking about extended warranty. Anybody know Hondacare sources on the internet lower than that 1075? I got my Accord Extended warranty on the internet but I was wondering if the same is available for Acuras?
  • tribblestribbles Member Posts: 56
Most of us look to Edmunds and other "free" sites to check MSRP/Invoice/TMV pricing.

Anybody ever take up Consumer Reports and use their pricing service for a fee ($12)? Is it worth the $12 they're charging?
  • toad2toad2 Member Posts: 9
Just bought '05 TL w/Navi. Paid $33,300 plus $95 dealer processing. Added wheel locks, splash guards, all-season mats and trunk tray for $230. Dealer was Rosenthal Acura in Gaithersburg MD. Dealer has dozens of TL's in stock.
  • dave124dave124 Member Posts: 12
Price in SoCal. $33,700 w/Navi? Is that out the Door? What was the Out the Door Price? If $33,700 is the out the door price, you got a great deal. How hard did you have to fight to get that offer?
    Thanks.
  • toad2toad2 Member Posts: 9
    Here is the breakdown:
Was not hard to get that price. Just be willing to walk if you don't get what you want. Here is a breakdown:

    $33,300--- 05' TL w/Navi
    $95.00 --- processing dealer fee
$230.00--- locks, spl guard, mats, trunk mat

    $33,625 subtotal

    plus tax and tags
  • vinnynyvinnyny Member Posts: 764
Yes, the $12 is definitely worth it.

For that meager fee you get all the same info as Edmunds, KBB, NADA and all the other outstanding sources of FREE data, but you also get your name added to Consumer Reports' junk mail list! You could get thousands of dollars of valuable coupons and ideas to help you get rich--or you might just get lots of junk mail...

The only people buying this "service" are those who haven't figured out where to get the same information for free.

I paid $33,700 for the 05 TL/navi in transit + options, tax, etc. This was before Thanksgiving. Prices may be differnt now.

About the Acura warranty, call around So Cal's Acura dealters, ask for the busniness dept. Ask the finance perons how much an extended Acura warranty costs. Different dealers have differnt prices. You don'thave to get the Acura warranty where you got the car. You can get it at another dealer.

I just picked up an 05 Black/black TL on the 30th (auto/no nav) and got it for 30,750 including trunk tray, wheel locks and mud flaps. This was contingent on the end of the month but totally painless.

    I couldn't be happier.

So far, you are the new low price champ on a 05' ! Can you tell us when you placed the order or was it on the lot ?
  • scottmac1scottmac1 Member Posts: 6
I sent the dealer a price request a few days ago on the internet and the price was 31,500 at the time. I got around to driving the car just this week and if I bought it by Tuesday they dropped it to 30,750. I had no trade which helped and the price was for anything in stock. The black one I got just happened to come off the truck the day I went to test drive.

May I ask which dealership? I'm in Philly as well and while I've gotten some prices in the $31s, I've yet to see any below that number.
  • revrasrevras Member Posts: 63
I just leased a car 2 weeks ago I will not be able to use? It has five hundred miles on it? What would be the best forum in shich to sell? American Honda refuses to cut me any slack on the payoff which will be around 32K. I have heard of auctions, obviously a newspaper ad or journal any other ideas?

    Hi,

I posted my first message this past Wed and said I'd report final results if I were successful.

Today, I took delivery of the 05 TL w/AT and NAVI, white w/parchment. Knock-out beautiful.

I decided to lease rather than buy as I originally planned, because I usually change cars by three years (or earlier, would you believe).

Ok, bottom line: From Rosenthal Acura in Gaithersburg, MD (suburb of Wash DC)-- Three year lease, 12k miles, "purchase price" $33,478 (the same price I would've gotten had I bought). After some serious negotiations, I got 36 payments of $590/mo total, including all taxes, fees, etc., etc.

The car is thrilling. It's such an upgrade from my returned 03 Acura CL-S (I took a major hit, but it's worth it), there's no comparison. While the TL's steering feels lighter than the Coupe, it also seems more nimble (the Coupe feels "heavier").

Other than ultimate handling from real-wheelers like the Bimmers, this car has got to be the best bang/fun toys -- the DVD Audio is outstanding -- for the buck. What other car can touch it?

    Regards,

    Rod

I forgot to mention in my post immediately above that the $590/mo 3-year lease price for the 05 TL/AT/NAVI, including all taxes, fees, etc., also includes splash guards and wheel locks. Deal from Rosenthal Acura in Gaithersburg, MD.

(I'll now have to change my title "name" from CLS 03 to ...?) once I figure out how to do it. Any suggestions?

I bought it at Davis Acura in Langhorne. They were great to deal with. No real haggling and no surprises.

I have asked a dealer to locate an Anthracite with Quartz interior, 6-speed, No-Navi. He has agreed to sell it for 31,373 with wheel locks, splash guards & trunk tray. He matched another dealer's offer. Does this sound like a good deal? A dealer in VA has agreed to beat this deal by $200 but apparently there is only one of these in the 4 state area in the North East at the moment. Any comments or suggestions?

I just took delivery of my TL from Rosenthal Acura in Gaithersburg. I got a fantastic price and the whole experience was excellent. I worked through the internet sales manager. Everyone was very professional. I would recommend that anyone in the DC area contact them when you are ready to buy.

    Hi all,

I've received the below offer on a demo vehicle in the DC area and would appreciate any feedback; it looks like the offer is straight-up invoice price (including accessories and destination). habitat1, I'd especially like to hear what you think since you know the area and seem to have a great handle on what discounts should apply to demo vehicles. By the way, I really didn't want the body side moldings, and couldn't care less about the decklid spoiler or wood shift knob, but can live with all of them. Thanks!

"I received your inquiry last night about the only remaining '04 TL. This vehicle was driven for a short time by our General Manager and has been retired from service. It is very well equipped with Navigation system, decklid spoiler, body-side moldings, a beautiful wood shift knob and splash guards; also, the mileage is 4,013 and the first service has already been performed. This car is new and untitled and is eligible for lease as well as purchase plans. You can purchase the 2004 TL described above for only $33,165.00."
  • jim_arrowsjim_arrows Member Posts: 5
Gary, could you please post details of the deal you negotiated? I'm in the area and am trying to decide between the 2004 Demo I posted above, a new 2005, or (most likely) waiting for 2006 to see if they add the sh-awd system. Thanks!

Does anyone know if the 05 TL can be outfitted with roof racks, or if there is another forum that speaks to this? (I have not found any relevant results in my searches)

Without the ability to fold the seats down, this can be an issue...

    Thanks
  • tlresearchertlresearcher Member Posts: 16
Jim: The deal you are getting is great but please keep in mind that there are quite a few dealers who will sell you an '05 with Navi around 33,373. For $200 more bucks getting the latest model year makes more sense. It will certainly help you when you trade in the TL in future. You can find out for yourself by visiting Kelley Blue Book and checking out the trade-in values for the exact same model, with the same miles (say 12,000) for 2004 & 2005 model year. It will drop the value by a significant number. Hope this helps.

On 12/5/04 picking up a 2005 w/Nav. Black/Ebony at Joe Rizza Acura which is about 30 miles southwest of Chicago for $33,600 incl. wheel locks, mats, etc... Rizza dealer was originally unwilling to drop price more than about $300.00 under MSRP but McGrath Acura (northwest of Chicago) gave me an internet quote of $33,400 which brought Rizza price down. At Rizza Acura they include a two year "free" door-ding repair service. Very easy to deal with salesman and starting to see more 2005's arriving in their lot.
  • eddiemaceddiemac Member Posts: 141
You can buy a 2005 for $850 over invoice from Lindsay Acura in Columbus, Ohio. Invoice and destination is $32,373. Add your $850 and you are at $33,223 for a new '05 vs. an '04 with 4k miles. I live in DC and purchased an MDX from them last year with no problems! You can e-mail me if you want more information(check my profile).

Rosenthal Acura clararly has a case of Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde.

I'm glad you had a good experience, but... the Rosenthal family of dealerships is generally regarded as one of the worst in the Washington area. Unprofessional, numerous complaints to BBB, etc. Washington Checkbook magazine rated them at the bottom of the list, along with DarCars.

As for my own experience, they botched service and repairs more than once on an old Integra that I bought there years and years ago. Since then, a friend who has an MDX had a similar bad service experience within the last 6 months.

So approach Rosenthal with caution. Perhaps they are trying harder and/or have a few good employees. But just the name "Roenthal" conjures up some pretty bad ratings and press.
  • cls03cls03 Member Posts: 10
    Hey, all...

I must've had the Dr. Jeckyl experience, which was professional and courteous. It helped that I had a great salesman (who happened to be their top seller). Nothing but full knowledge and complete politeness from him.

And, he told me that the Motorola V710/bluetooth from verizon DOES work (contrary to what some said on the accessories thread). All I have to do is see him when/(if) I get that phone, and he'll be glad to set it up for me, and answer any other questions regarding the complicated voicing/navi, etc. He said he wants my business for my next purchase and hopes I'll recommend him to friends looking for an Acura. And I will.

    Regards,

    Rod

Guys: Just got a quote from a dealer in PA that he can sell a non-navi TL with the standard protection package for 31,100 + TTL. Document fee is $55. I think I am going to stop negotiating and go for it. Any suggestions for MD / PA area?
