I absolutely loathe Subaru for a bunch of reasons. I think they're junk....

LOL It's not Volvo, sure, but it's got all you need. They are not junk but any means. Subaru never subsidizes their leases, but that doesn't mean you can't get a deal in $350 range on a loaded one if you negotiate well. Just negotiate good sale price (~$1.5K under invoice) and calculate lease payments yourself. You will never be at $500-600 with $0 down. But if you ask a dealer for a lease quote - yeah, they may give you one like that.
What we are seeing with Volvo lease incentives is aberration when you can lease a $48K car for under $400 with $0 down.

I beg to differ; everything is so plastic and disgusting. The ones I've driven were so uncomfortable, I felt like my back was breaking. The interface is just really awful, too -- the gas gauge was in the middle of the dashboard? There is honestly nothing I like about Subaru, and the other thing is I would never pay the same thing I'm paying now for plastic, cheap, horrible, etc. -- and for a car that has an MSRP which is $6,500 less than what I'm driving now. That just says, "Hi, you were ripped off."

@ashleigh919 - thanks for laying out your parameters. Given the amount of miles per year you drive (80 X 5 = 400) and the features you are looking for, leasing might be a tough pill to swallow. I know, I drive from Stamford, CT to The Bronx 6 days per week (63 miles round trip). Also, what is your current make & model so I know where not to steer you toward?

Except there's no way I can afford to buy for a few reasons, especially the payment. I only go to work 4 days a week and work at home one day, so that's good. Also, The car must be under warranty (I had an older car, and I'm NEVER doing that again), so anything with a 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty is a no-go -- bye, Subaru!!!! -- unless I get a 24-month lease. Buying a car and dumping it after 2 years is definitely not feasible, and after 3 years, the amount I would pay vs. what I could sell it for would almost certainly be a loss. Plus, the extra money I would spend in the process of maybe breaking even is nowhere near worth it. But again, I can't swing that payment with my loans.

I'm on my second of two Ford Fusions. I had a 2012 SEL AWD, which was great. I have a 2014 Titanium AWD, which is a nightmare on wheels. I was thinking of another Grand Cherokee (I've had three), but they're so expensive now since my last one. I'm really limited in that I must have AWD/4x4, don't want anything Japanese (no Honda or Toyota, please -- bad experiences with both!), and honestly, with the way motorcyclists weave in and out, blindspot has become a must, too. Navigation is used for traffic, because I hate using a phone illegally, plus the screen is small and annoying while in a car.

Now the real Volvo question is why am I being told the MF on the S60 Cross Country is 0.00126 (3.02%) when the regular S60 is 0.00001 (0.02%)? That's like usury at about $70 a month in finance charges...
Got it. So you are looking for a loaded up AWD European vehicle for $350 per month with $0 out of pocket due at signing (rolling in the taxes, Acquisition Fee, as well as DMV fees). Let me see what I can conjure up for you when & if I take lunch today.

Would you care to share your Fusion experience over on the MID SIZED SEDANS 2.0 board?
Not necessarily loaded. There are a lot of features I neither need nor want, such as park assist/any kind of front cameras or braking system or front collision system. I don't want cooled seats, and I don't need the "fanciest" things out there, just the basics. I never wanted navigation, a camera, blindspot, etc. until I had them on my last two cars and realized that these days, they really are necessary as people become more careless and you have to watch out for more with a little help -- again, think of kids running in parking lots, people on phones, and motorcycles weaving.

I also would be amenable to certain GM or Chrysler vehicles, such as a Grand Cherokee (not the Cherokee's 9-speed tranny or underpowered 184-HP engine, haha!) or a Caddy ATS (that's the least expensive one, right?). I do get a GM supplier discount through work, Chrysler Affiliate, some kind of small Mercedes discount, had Ford x-plan, etc. Working for a large, world-wide company has its perks.

I can share my Fusion experience in about a month; I'm in litigation with my dealership, and my court date is September 22. :) I can't jeopardize that! It's mainly about what the dealership did on my last visit, but either way, I'm protecting my interests for now!

As for price, I can go up to $375 - $380, maybe $400, but I'm just under $350 now, and I really don't want to increase expenses, because I am on a tight budget.

Feel free to message me to get my e-mail address. Thanks!

Is there any reason why Volvo would dump a bunch of incentives in August? I thought they were better now, and they were trying to clear out 2016s?

I had to wait a month to get out of my current lease, but now what's on the website is beyond unaffordable, and I'm not sure if the dealer will honor what we had before because there are less S60 Cross Countries around, and the website now has such drastically different deals:

    Mid-July:

    Versus now:

So it's essentially the $4,100 incentive that is gone, which is huge.

    Thanks for the help/insight.

Here is what I show as incentives for the S60 T5 AWD Cross Country:

    $2491 summer sales event
    $4000 lease bonus
    $850 24 month lease bonus

Auto manufacturers change these "programs" on a monthly basis. It's all based on regional sales & inventory. Maybe Volvo moved more cars than it expected to last month. If you look at different Volvos, you'll notice each one has a different incentive amount. I think thhe T5 E-Drive FWD which is the most popular has the most incentive money where something like a V70 AWD which is produced in less numbers & turns over quicker might have a lot less incentives.

FCA does the same thing. You want a base Challenger or Challenger R/T? They've got cheap financing, lease deals, cash incentives. You want a Challenger R/T Shaker, Scat Pack, or SRT? No cash incentives.

I'd check the Volvo Website to see if the information on the dealer's website is correct.

@Michaell -- those incentives are even LESS than what is on the Volvo website. This looks hopeless, and there are a bunch of S60 Cross Countries around here. This is not good, because I have someone taking over my current lease, and I'll be without a car...

@nyccarguy These numbers ARE from the Volvo website...great, just great. I never can catch a break, and now at these numbers, I can't afford a car. Yes, I just said I'm attorney, but I have loans from school and I work in a job that affords me a life and is actually a 9-5, so I don't make a lot of money. :/
Be advised that what I have may not be all that's available. But, between my info and the official website, I can't think of anyplace else incentives would be documented.

You may have to adjust your expectations to your budget. Lots of nice mid-sized sedans for pretty low lease prices.
@Michaell By the way, can you possibly tell me, even in a message, where the $4,000 incentive is? The dealers are coming up with the other ones, but not that one. If we can "find" that one, then the deal is a go, and I can stop going crazy. I'm trying to find a suitable regular S60, or maybe 2017, and I'm running out of time and can't be left without a car. Thanks!

The lease bonus may be a factory to dealer incentive - if so, then won't be published anywhere. You'll just have to negotiate your best deal knowing it exists.

Okay, now I'm just completely confused. Everyone is coming back with these fantastic numbers, and I'm left with crazy numbers that make no sense whatsoever. Please help!

The first one is an S60 Cross Country Platinum with the Climate package, BLIS, Speed Sensitive Steering, and Wood Inlays (obviously I don't need some of these, but they're on the car).

    MSRP: $47,640
    Selling price: $43,140
Why the dealer is coming up with $3,612.98 in tax is beyond me; it should be about $1,700 because of the tax on the incentives.

Based on what she has with $7,100 in incentives (which is wrong anyway), with an MF of 0.00126 and a 53% residual (what is the 36-month residual? I only know 24 months on this is 57%, so I guessed), the payment is $397 + tax = $446 at $0 out of pocket.

    But for 36 months, shouldn't the incentives be $6,100 + $2,650 + $1,000 conquest? That's $9.750. That's still aside from the mystery $4,100 that no one can find. I calculated $320 + tax a month = $369.69.

I also calculated 24 months at 57% residual and came to $397 + tax = $446, which is still just about equal to her number with $2000 out of pocket.

This one is a little more loaded than others, and I'm not sure exactly what options are on the one I was told I could get from a dealer here, but I was quoted $399, $2,000 out of pocket as the lowest price (still too high for me).

This is a T5 Premier with Sport Seats (Beechwood), BLIS, Convenience, Heated Seats, and I think metallic paint ($500 I can't figure out).

Now this is where it gets even more confusing. People have posted cars with MUCH higher MSRPs and lease prices lower than this, getting the selling price as low as $29.000. Either way, these numbers are WAY off.

    Incentives are $4100 + $2650 + $1000 conquest, according to the website, plus $850 on the 24-month lease. That's $7750 and $8600.

Using her numbers of MSRP: $42,665
    Selling Price: $37,683
Again, sales tax is WAY off
MF of 0.00001 and 51% residual (15,000 miles)

    24 months -- $5,950 rebate (should be $8,600) -- I get, using her numbers, $416 at $0 down. That's $100 different. Using the actual $8,600.I came to $306 + tax = $364.33.

36 months -- $5,100 rebate (should be $7,750) -- I get, using her numbers, $360 a month, which is $80 different. Using the actual $7,750, I get $287 + tax = $330.86, which would be the winner, though, honestly, for $34, I'd go with a 24-month lease and extend it past that if need-be. I'd rather have the option to be out earlier.

They said they don't have this one but can get it (I had initially asked about a different one with the same options but different exterior color).

There's also an inscription at another dealership I'm looking at, and he also has a CC.

What it's coming to is that I have to play roulette and not sign today because everyone is giving me different prices, and Ford screwed up the transfer paperwork (surprise, surprise!), so no approval yet, and I'm not signing until that's through. But for all anyone knows, the deals are extended through Labor Day weekend as of tomorrow, because they'd be foolish to not have a nice sale over Labor Day weekend. Either way. I need to figure out why the numbers aren't matching the offers and why they're so much higher than what everyone else has been offered.

Thanks AGAIN for the help. I just want to pull the trigger already!

@ashleigh919 You are mistaking that document for a lease quote. It's not really. It says on the right hand column that it's for retail (that's a purchase, not a lease).
Then, on the left-hand side, it gives rebate numbers and lease payments, but no other info.

The 36/15 numbers for that model are .00126 MF and 50% residual
    The incentives we show:
    $2491 Summer Sales event
    $4000 lease cash
$850 additional lease cash on 24 month leases

Using their numbers, on the top deal, if the CAP cost is $43140 minus $7100 in rebates, the payment should be $415/mo.+tax.

    Which state is this?

    @kyfdx @Michaell

So for one of the other ones I was working on, I have these numbers now:
S60 Inscription Platinum, Blindspot, Heated Seats

    MSRP: $46,365
Selling price: $43,050 (listed as $38,450 on cars.com and $39,999 on their website; here is where things get confusing).
    Incentives: $8,250
    Reduced cap. cost: $34,800

But if they advertise a price, shouldn't the incentives be taken off of that?

$750 + first month out of pocket, and I get $373 a month, and he's more around $395. Either way, because his screen isn't showing taxes, and I calculate NY taxes at $52 a month due to the taxes on incentives, I need it to be lower. My max is really $400, including taxes.

How are others getting $47,000 inscriptions for less? He said he has to use the programs for his region, Southern Indiana, even though the computer should plug them in, and his parent dealership is based out of NY.

Sorry for all the questions, but I need this wrapped already because the approval to take my car away should be there by tomorrow! :)

I also need to pay about $700 to ship this car from IN to NY, so I'd prefer to not put the $750 down.

I understand all that, but when the Volvo website says certain incentives are available, and you say they are here, I'm getting radically different numbers from dealers. Additionally, everyone here is reporting between $350 - $400 on either a T5 AWD or an Inscription AWD (someone had an Inscription with the EXACT same MSRP), and the LEAST I've been quoted is over $500...on a 36-month lease, let alone people supposedly getting the lower numbers for 24-month leases.

This is infinitely frustrating and disappointing and dare I ask dealers/in general if it's because I'm female? Needless to say, I can't and will not sign at those prices, because it's both significantly more than what I pay now or can afford (let alone what I expected and calculated). If I don't have a car when the people take over my lease next week, though, then I'm going to lose my job if I don't have a car to get there...this is getting really upsetting in general. Even cars with an MSRP of $10,000 less from other brands are more.

This is NY. So we're the same for 24 months on the cross country. What about the numbers on the regular S60? Thanks.
    .00001 MF and 52%/46% for 24/36 mo, 15K/yr.
    Same incentives
So essentially, the dealer's numbers were way off and my calculations were correct?
    @kyfdx @Michaell

I'm really not sure what to tell you at this point. Perhaps you can expand your search and see if you can find a dealer willing to give you a deal similar to what others have gotten.

I suppose it's possible that you're getting less cooperation because of your gender - but, most dealers know women make a majority of the buying or leasing decisions nowadays.

If you're under the gun, time wise, you may have to get something other than a Volvo to meet your budget.

Any detail on the residual and money factor on a 2016 Volvo S60 T5 Premier AWD in Iowa?

I'm deciding between 24 or 36 months at 10k miles.

This just came in from the dealer today. Please review:

    S60 T5 Platinum Inscription - Location: Minnesota
    MSRP $45,575
    Cap Cost $40,699
    Reductions $8,575
    Net Cap Cost $37000

Lease 36 months x 10K miles per year
    $2000 out of pocket
    MF is .00021

    $484/mo

Seems high, especially the MF. I didn't get a residual yet

    AWD?

    .00001 MF and 48% residual
    $3000 Volvo Allowance
    $4200 Lease Bonus

I get $432/mo.+tax with your money factor, $420/mo.+tax with mine.
Not sure where the $40,699 CAP cost comes from ... looks like MSRP minus reductions is NET CAP. Where does the $40,699 figure in?

Oh, I'm sorry. The $40,699 was just the initial dealer asking price. I talked it down to a final price of $37,000 for the purposes of the estimate. I think I got mixed up. No, this model is FWD.

    Thanks for the update.

Speaking of which, I'm really torn between AWD and FWD. FWD models are much easier to come by, but I really do like the driving dynamics of the S60 AWD too; however, they're hard to find. Do you have any advice, @kyfdx ?

I would think AWD is more popular in MN, thus both harder to find and less discounting available. Lease what you like.

Just out of curiosity, because I'm now working with another dealer...who said he'd get back to me 1st thing this morning, and it's nearly 1PM, of course. This dealership has very high satisfaction ratings everywhere I look, too...what are this month's numbers for the S60CC for both 24/15 and 36/15? I want to know if what I'm presented with is accurate. Since there seem to be a bunch of them around and almost no regular S60s with AWD, we decided that was our best bet.

Also, he salesman mentioned that Volvo often adds extra incentives mid-month; is this true?

    Thanks.

Thanks! Not sure why I was told the incentives stayed the same, but at least the MF is A LOT better. So if I get them to discount the car, I guess it can work out better for me in the end...

Umm, no. The MF is a full percentage point lower. It's still not great and not what the regular S60 one is, but it's also a higher residual.

I just purchased a 2016 Volvo S60 Premiere with heated seats. Although it was a purchase and not a lease, I am posting the details here for reference (and because there is not "Purchase Price" forum for this car). The car is a demo/loaner with 4,100 miles. Here are the details:

    MSRP: $38,230
Discounted Price: $24,490 (The discount included Volvo loyalty credit of $500 since I own a Volkswagen TDI)
Drive out after TT&L: $26,416 (6% sale tax in Texas. The doc fees were a very reasonable $150)

I financed the entire purchase price through Volvo Car Financial Services (VCFS) at 1.9%. Under the Volvo Holiday Sales Event, they are picking up the first 3 payments for an additional credit of $1,734, which puts my net drive out price at $24,682. Additionally, as a Volkswagen TDI owner, I get free Safe and Secure coverage which provides bumper to bumper warranty coverage, free scheduled maintenance, and free wear and tear coverage, including brake pads, for 5 years/50,000 miles. My purchase was done through Autobahn Volvo in Fort Worth, TX. It was a long distance transaction that was very easy...just a few phone calls and an online credit app. Colten Thomas was the sales rep.

Can you provide the December numbers for a 2016 S60 Inscription Platinum T5 FWD on a 36 month / 12k?

According to the dealer (CA), it sounds like the MF went back up to .00172 from .00001 which would be a shame. Also I am hearing RV is 44%. Checking to see if these numbers match up with your info.

    thank you kindly

    .00172 MF and 44% residual.
    $3000 Volvo Allowance.

It happens every year. At some point, lease incentives end on the outgoing model.

Thanks for the confirmation. I wonder if I should be looking at the 2017 instead? I will check that forum for current lease offers.

i was offered an exceptionally good sales price on a 2016 S60 Platinum with additional BLIS and park assist. MSRP $46.025. SP $31,500! If only I were able to pair it with the MF and RV from last months lease incentives, I would be flying high. At least I still get the first three months paid for, but the MF alone adds $90 a month to the payment...
