.003 is too high. We don't know the exact standard rate - possibly .00220 at most.

I'm sorry what is meant by pre-tax? I live in TX so I believe the tax is a lump sum and not applied to each payment correct?

Hello there I was able to get an MSRP $63,750 down to $61,200 but that is the total cap cost. Meaning the actual MSRP is much lower because in that $61,200 I had them roll TT&L and the other fees. This will be my 2nd time leasing and my understanding is the total cap cost is the number that determine your payment amount so thats the only number I focused on.

Pre-tax means just that. Yes, TX taxes the entire selling price and you can choose to pay that amount at lease inception or add it to the cap cost.

I only calculate payments based on the information I'm given.

what did your payment look like? my dealer also in texas was quoting me $990/month including taxes and all fees. the MSRP was 61,565. I would be interested to hear what MF and monthly payment they quoted you. texas is higher lease b/c they tax you on the entire cost of care. thanks

 While we don't know the exact money factor forced the standard rate with Mercedes-Benz, we have always felt that it was between .00200 and .00220. The dealer is allowed to mark that up.

Is it just me, or is $900 - $1,000/mo way too much money to lease a $61k car? Can't you lease $90k cars for that amount?

$40K cars that are optioned up to $60K don't hold their value very well, ergo the low residuals. Those same vehicles tend to attract buyers that are less price sensitive, so they try to take advantage of that. (in a general sense).

IMO, yes.. $900-$1000 is way to much to pay to lease a $60K vehicle.

Just talked to my local dealer today. Said standard money factor on C450 AMG is 0.0025 and residual is 59% for 36/10K. 61.7K cap cost on a 64K build, 10 MSD's (at 0.00007 each) comes to about $798/month (not including tax).

While that seems fair for such a new, semi-special car, it does seem high when you consider that you can get a 79K MSRP BMW 550 for about $760/month.

I'm in a 550 now and its lease is up soon, so trying to decide what to do. Hard to go from a 550 to a C450 and pay more per month. While the C450 is a very nice car and certainly the better choice between it and a 3 series, it's not a 5er.

$728/month plus tax. This would be on a build car from the factory which I'm told takes 90 days.
Does this sound right?

On a side note, does anyone know if the lighted star stays on while driving? I've read mixed info.

Base MF for 2016 C450 is .00129, so that is marked up. Don't track prices, so couldn't tell you if the discount is good or bad.

We don't recommend making a down payment on a lease; that money is at risk if the car is stolen or totaled.

With the base MF and the prices you've given us, I get $699/mo + tax.

I am also giving back my C300 lease 10 months early that I pay 345 a month without any kind of penalty(that I know). Does this sound like a good deal?

Nope. What is the selling price? State and tax rate?

I'm not so sure that there is no penalty on the $3000+ still owed on your current lease. Why are you wanting out of your lease so early?

.00129 is the base MF and 59% is the residual for 36/10.

Well it wasn't planned that way, went in with the wife to see how early we could return the car in our 27 month lease just to try something different.... First they said 5 months then they said they could "take care of it" now. I live in Michigan with a 6% sales tax. The sell price 61,300 MSRP - 2500 incentive. I was thinking they were charging me extra for the rest of my old lease.

1,639.03 due at signing($795 acquisition fee+$250 DMV fees+1st month payment)
$594.03 per month including 9% PA tax

Is this a good deal? Dealer said right now MBFS doesn't support leases on the C450s, so maybe March program will be more aggressive.
