Looks like your getting a good deal on the sale of the Accord pricewise . I would repost your question in the Honda accord leasing forum to double check dealers lease numbers. ..
Lots of great information here (looking at you Brian125).
Couple of questions, please.
What are some dealers in the Baltimore, MD, area that folks have had good luck with?
When the figures $1200-2500 below invoice are used to show a good price is that with or without the current dealer incentives? How do these incentives fit into this good price model?
Thanks!
When you read Target prices in states it includes this Incentive money dealer is getting
Most dealers wont tell you about the cash incentive of up to 1250 Unless its listed from the Manufacturer. This cash incentive is used to each dealers discretion . Some dealers may apply 800 to your sale while some dealers we give you the whole amount to help lower sale price further.
Here are the dealers I always recommend in Honda forums. Catch anyone of these dealers on a good month and you will do better than the rest.
1- Criswell, Pohanka, O'Donnel, Shockley, Jim Coleman , Browns
Lower tier Honda dealers but can compete with my Number 1's
Ourisman, Heritage, Sport, Norris, College park,
These dealers doc fee range from 249 to 399. Ask each dealer for them before making offers to them .
Thanks to everyone in this forum for sharing their experiences and helping potential buyers. Today I bought New 2016 Accord Lx automatic... Paid base price 18400 + TAX & DMV fee.
I've been involved with buying and helping others buy Honda vehicles for many years. Looking at your numbers @3492 below invoice minus a 80 dollar doc fee is the best price ever I seen, heard or got myself.
End of the year sales don't come close at that price.
Its a MONSTER deal of the century. BEST ever for May You could drive your Accord for one year sell it and still not lose a penny
Hi, Bought 2016 Honda Accord Touring (v6, Navigation, Sensing.....) for $31,000 OTD in Virginia. Will post the details soon. I am hoping I got good price, thanks to all forum users.
I'm looking to offer my dealers $25000 OTD all fees, taxes, destination and doc, for an Ex w/ HS in Columbus Ohio. Invoice is $26134 plus there seems to be $1250 in lease cash to the dealers. Should I try for lower? Thanks for your input and time.
You gave us a ending math question only you could answer. Most of us do not live in OHIO
Lets Re- word your post. You could fill in the blanks . Invoice on my model is $26,134.
How much should I offer dealers below invoice excluding taxes and fee's from your State ?. I live in NY so my taxes and fee's are different from yours. My doc fee is different etc. Concentrate on how much below invoice you could get. A good high and low target price for your area might be starting at 1800 to 3k below invoice. Nobody knows exactly what you could get.
If you call email 10, 15 dealers asking to meet your price then you will have a ideal if you could reach the higher end of the target price.

After a round of haggling today with multiple dealers, here are the "leaders in the clubhouse" so far. I'm curious what everyone thinks:
Accord EX-L V6 with Navi and Honda Sensing = $29,111 (includes $499 dealer fees...Just need to add tax) Accord Touring = $30,275 (also includes $499 dealer fees....and just need to add tax)
Seems to me dealer wants to sell Touring model faster.@2266 below invoice after doc fee compared to @1665 below invoice after doc fee's for the EXL V-6
Seems to me dealer wants to sell Touring model faster.@2266 below invoice after doc fee compared to @1665 below invoice after doc fee's for the EXL V-6
I agree. It is interesting that the Touring model is that much better priced. I'm having the sales manager give me a total out-the-door cost tomorrow morning using my tax rate. If the pricing holds up, it would honestly be hard to say "no" to a Touring model that is only $1164 more expensive than the EX-L V6 model with Navi and Sensing.
My friend got a 4 cyl. LX-S coupe (without sensing) from a dealer in LA county (9% tax). I'm thinking of doing the same and wanted some ideas on the price. The price he agreed was around $21600, OTD around $23,900. He did honda financing also, Rate was 0.9%, not sure about the term.
Targeting end of May for a 16' Accord Sedan EX-L V6 without Nav/HS via lease in central Ohio area. Looking forward to posting my sale breakdown afterward in order to help others.
Last year, Memorial Day weekend ended on Sunday the 31st. I'm familiar with Brian's advice to utilize the last two days of the month for the best deal, but this year is a tad different with Memorial holiday weekend and May's end of month structure.
Given that the last day of May is a Tuesday (31st), I'm not sure which day is the best day to start emailing dealers. My gut feeling is to hold out until Monday (30th) before emailing in order to find those dealers that need just another car sale or two in order to push the dealer into a better sales quota bracket (my best leverage).
Starting earlier, such as Fri/Sat/Sun, feels like it would reduce my leverage. For instance, if the shoe was on the other foot and I'm the sales manager, I may want to get past the high volume holiday weekend before I start really working on cutting profits to the bone in order to meet a quota.
Also, I see the high volume weekend as a bad time to strike a deal against this particular trim because the dealer has more potential buyers and that works against our strategy of picking off a dealer that needs to make their quota (i.e. increased demand against a somewhat limited supply). Supply of EX-L V6s' with black interior within 200 miles is 24 cars (1-2 cars per dealer - 15 dealers total).
Any thoughts on this timing scenario and strategy? Any positive viewpoints for starting on Fri/Sat/Sun?

Personally, I think you could start right now if you want. If anything, it will just give you a general idea of where the market is at and then you will have a foundation of numbers from which to attack from in the coming days.
What is the recommended sales price for the 2016 accord sport (no sensing) in Georgia for buying the end of this month? I have seen many posts that I should be targeting well below invoice -- is there a target price for the sport in Georgia? Should additional be subtracted depending on their destination charge? I am looking to pay cash. Thanks!
If you could finance 5 or 10k thru Honda @0.9% dealer may be able to sell vehicle cheaper . Once you sign paperwork for finance call finance company the next week and ask if you could pay off loan before they send out the first payment.
Every state will have different pricing. A good high and low target price for your area ( Georgia ) is $1800 to 2500 below invoice. Buy anywhere in this price range and you have did better than most.
$23,771 minus 2500 = 21, 271 excluding dealers doc fee, DMV fee's , and your states taxes
Thanks so much Brian! This is very helpful. They offered me 21750 sales price in Chamblee GA (near Atlanta) resulting in 23600 OTD. Sounds like I may be able to get them down to around 23K flat if I go to the dealer at the right time...

I know this is a little off-topic, but could this financing strategy be used on the Civic? To my knowledge, there is no financing special on the Civic, so I would think that's a no?
Get your best Credit union, bank , Capital one finance rate approved then see if dealer will match or beat .
I think I wasn't clear and you misunderstood. What I meant was, can I attempt to sweeten the price on the Civic by financing (through Honda/dealer). Or does the dealer kickback only occur when the customer is financing via a special promo rate (which is not even available on the Civic).
Has the Invoice price for an EX-L with Navi and Sensing changed? I had a dealer list the Invoice price (including destination) as $29072.51. The dealer said Honda adjusts the invoice price periodically throughout the year. Is this true? and is this a correct Invoice price including Destination? Thank you I am in the San Francisco Bay Area

You can build your car using the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page, and get the invoice price from Edmunds.
I'm in NY and the best offer I've received so far is $30,500 + $75 doc fee+ TTL = $33,375 OTD.
Can I get a much better deal if I wait a couple of more days? I have to turn in my lease on Friday so I'll be without a car, but if I can save money over and above the price of a rental, it might be going with the rental.
You have a good offer for 2k below invoice on the table in NY. You always can save a few more $ by waiting till the end of the month but then you have no car after Friday.
Hello, I am currently looking to buy a 2016 Accord EX or EX-L.
I was hoping to get some advice on how much I should pay. I talked to a few dealerships and had two not return my emails.
Current offers from dealers for out the door price on EX models: Dealership 1 - $25,177.61 OTD Dealership 2 - $25,320.00 OTD Dealership 3 - Sale Price of $22,698.00 (did not want to give me an out the door price)
Current offers from dealers for out the door price on EX-L models: Dealership 1 - $27,048.29 OTD Dealership 2 - $27,530.00 OTD Dealership 3 - Sale Price of 24,798.00 (did not want to give me an out the door price)
By the way, I live in Sacramento, CA so tax rate for the city is 8.5% and County is 8.0%.
My biggest concern is that I don't know if the OTD Price should be close to invoice or the sale price should be close to invoice. Thanks for the help.
Chipping away at my homework here. Posted below are all the 2016 EX-L V6 sales in this thread (2016). Seems that ~$2500 below invoice is a pretty good deal, based on the limited data here. I have the other V6 models that I have curated and will post in a new reply (Edmunds char limits...argh. Simple HTML rules are not fully working...grumble.) The other V6 models seem to fall into the same pattern, ~$2000-2600 below invoice.
Note!!! Multiple Disclosures!!
I have not taken into consideration any addons that were included in price. So maybe some users' profit is lower due to this.
In the table, Breakdown Confidence, is my measure of how certain I am that I could dissect whether the destination charge was included in quoted sale price or not. High = destination was explicitly disclosed. Moderate = enough data presented to make assumption. Dubious = not enough info to make a reasonable assumption.
This is not meant to be accurate and is just for ballpark figures and experimentation. Who knows, maybe I botched the whole thing.
Continuation of above thread. EX-L V6 With Nav & Sense
See my previous disclosures in the above thread. This is not meant to be accurate; assume I've botched the whole thing. I did not take great care to evaluate all circumstances surrounding dealer add-ons and other factors.
I've checked with Michael from this forum and he's advised that $1750 lease cash is available for Sedan EX-L V6 without Nav/Sense. Total known profit for the dealer is $1750 lease cash, $615 holdback, and $250 doc fee = $2615. Knowing that, it seems reasonable to set my target price at $25,400 or $2,718 below invoice. Note: I am not including destination charge in my figures during this discussion.
I've done a good bit of research here and it seems that Honda_Ody and AccordChicago have netted similar prices and they're within my 200 mile area (they got $2500 off invoice).
Any thoughts? My target price just right? Am I being too aggressive or am I leaving more on the table?
Also, any suggestions on how to utilize the lease cash knowledge in the deal? I'm not sure how to structure that in the negotiations. Too early and they just use that to walk the price down by the amount of the rebate and stop. Too late and they say they've already included it in the pricing. Not quite sure the best tactic for that. I'd love to hear opinions.
Hopefully the table helps some of you, just don't count it down to the last dollar. Plus, keep in mind that your market may be a stickler. See Brian's past remarks for notorious states.
Hello to all of the members of this community. This is my first post here.
I am looking to purchase a 2016 Accord Ex or ExL models. I live near Sacramento, CA.
Could you please advise me what would be the OTD prices on these models. Also this is my first car purchase, I donno how to reach the dealers regarding the quotes and where I can find the email address of the dealers near by me. Also assist me with some tips on the negotiation process.
Some one posted in this forum buying a Accord in this long weekend will be a pretty good deal. Thanks in advance.

Thanks KYFDX - I had done that, and found the Invoice Price listed as $28,884 for the EX-L w/NAVI and Sensing. So we have a discrepancy in the Invoice Price and I want to make sure I am negotiating from common ground. I guess I should ask each dealer for their Invoice Price to make sure we are negotiating from the same start point? Or should I just use $28884 as my reference point as I try to hit $3000 below Invoice? Has anyone ever heard of the invoice prices changing periodically?

The $1750 includes $500 that is only good for leases. So, just $1250 for purchases.

Manufacturers do raise their prices mid-year, at times. I can't comment on the invoice prices that Edmunds gives you.
You decide what invoice is, then make your offer in actual US Dollars. No need to ask the dealer for their invoice, or mention it at all. Ask for the price you want, and stick to it.
I'm hoping to buy this weekend so I've emailed several dealers for quotes already. This is the first I've gotten back and it looks pretty good to me. I'm waiting to see how close other dealers are to this. I'm in the Houston, TX area. Another dealer said they'd beat my lowest without even bothering to send a quote. I emailed them right back and asked for numbers.

No such charge 995? The del charge is $835 on all Accords. IS this 995 being added to 22,777? If so walk away Terrible deal. How much is this dealers doc fee charge?? ...... find out if you don't know.
Sport w/ sensing invoice price =..........23,848 + 835 = $24,683.
If your agreed selling price is 22,777 w/ destination that puts you at 1906 below invoice price then you have to minus dealers very high doc fee charge off the 1906 below number.
Agreed, the $23,772 was there OTD price. I Walked away. Have another dealer quote-

Hi.. Did you get any better deal ? I was also looking to purchase accord ex_L
The prices @fugi916 got from dealer 3 is about 100 lower than what I got when I was asking around (I had also asked about EX and EX-L in California/LA area, if the pricing includes destination). I feel like there might be room between $200-$500 lower for the dealers, depending on how desperate they feel this weekend. Please report back on any additional offers/prices. Thanks!

Thanks!

You decide what invoice is, then make your offer in actual US Dollars. No need to ask the dealer for their invoice, or mention it at all. Ask for the price you want, and stick to it.

2016 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L
Sale Price* $24,034.00
Destination & Delivery $900.00
Sub Total $24,934.00
Sales Tax $1,558.37
Inventory Tax $48.96
Title Fee $33.00
License Fee $110.50
State Inspection $23.75
Road & Bridge Fee $20.00
Document Fee $125.00
Total Drive Out $26,853.58
Seeing as the MSRP on the EX-L is about 29K, financing with Honda would be excellent I think (the price is only good if financing with Honda).
Thoughts?
2016 Honda Accord Sport w sensing

Great Deal? Can we do better?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Your at 1762 below dealers invoice . $300- 500 more may be do-able negotiating till the end of the month with this dealer.
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Sport w/ sensing invoice price =..........23,848 + 835 = $24,683.
If your agreed selling price is 22,777 w/ destination that puts you at 1906 below invoice price then you have to minus dealers very high doc fee charge off the 1906 below number.

Lease quote so tax will be in month lease payment?
Adjusted Price $21,895
Taxable fee $45.00
Battery Fee $1.50
Doc Fee $789.00
Tax $58.38
Non tax fee $217.00
Net Price $23,005
If Invoice price is $24,683, then I'm only $1678 less invoice. Should I go back and offer $21,683 OTD?
Thank You!

Thanks!
