Taxes and other fees are included in $2500 and $530. nothing to pay extra upfront!
I thought the taxes were $2800? Where is the other $300?
It is included in my monthly payment. I do not have to pay all taxes and fees upfront. I would put down payment to reduce my monthly payments!
So, what is the adjusted cap cost if some of the taxes and fees are being added in? My guess it's higher than the $40,795 you originally quoted.
This is my dealer explanation to me: MSRP: $44775 Selling price: $40000 Plus taxes and fees: $42800 Plus acq fee: +$795=$43595 Minus down payment: -$2500=$41095 = adjusted cap!
Do these numbers make sense? Is $2500 Down plus $530 monthly payment with no extera fees upfront a decent deal for 36m/12k?
GLC, I think the money factor is high at this time. I am curious when the 2017 comes out and in November and December when the winter event comes out, what the numbers will be. A better money factor and winter cash would be helpful.

Then I'm back to my original calculated payment. Can't tell you why you dealer quote is higher, unless they marked up the MF.

No way to predict what the numbers will be 6 months from now. Numbers may come down if sales start to slip.
By how much would the MF go down if I were to put in 10 MSD (the maximum allowed)? Is the .00166 the buy rate that dealers quote or is the best deal that dealers are offering to customers?

We don't have any details on the MB MSD program.
.00166 is the buy rate, and is the best rate available to customers without MSD

MF is marked up from base rate of .00166. 60% residual is correct Sales tax in NY (this is NY, right?) is collected upfront. Acquisition fee is marked up from the $795 base. I would assume the $1050 is for prepaid maintenance (but, I would want to know for sure)
The money factor markup alone is adding $50/mo. to the payment

It's Minnesota, state tax is 7.775%. When I divide the tax on collected items of $1679.40 by 7.775% I get an exact $21600, which divided by 36 is exactly 600. Since the payment they quoted is only $577.27, does this mean they are overcharging on tax as well??

Hi, I would appreciate some help on a lease quote I got from a dealer.
2016 GLC 300 4matic - 36 month / 10k miles
MSRP 50,135 Selling price (inc destination) 47,891 Dealer Fees 675 (doc 595, the rest title, license and electronic filing) Cap Cost 48,566
MF .00191 (I know this is marked up and plan to push back to the base rate) Sales Tax 2,085 (VA - 4.3% tax on entire price of car)
The dealer is quoting around $746/mo, which seems very high for this priced car. I know some of that is from the marked up MF. I also believe they've built in a 2.65% 'service fee', which allegedly is an extra warranty I would not actually pay unless I chose to. However, the dealer has not been very transparent on the lease calculation, so I think this is baked in. If I account for all of this, I get to around $740/mo. Still really high.
He claims the selling price is $500 above invoice. Does that sound right? I'm not sure I believe him. He also said they would not move on the Doc fee. Am I wrong to assume that even if he is telling the truth about being $500 over invoice, he should be able to go lower on the selling price because of the large doc fee, which is essentially dealer profit?
When I calculate out the lease payment on the above, but with the base MF and without that bogus 2.65% fee, I get $627 + $58 tax = $685. Better than what they're quoting, but compared to what other people are getting on this board I feel like there should be more room to move.

.00166 and 61% for 36/10.
GLC's have been expensive to lease, mainly because of the higher MF. And, not much discounting from sticker, due to their popularity.
Are you paying the taxes and fees out of pocket? I ask because the difference between the selling price and the cap cost isn't enough to account for them.
Using your prices, I get $631/mo. There shouldn't be any tax added onto that payment if you are paying it up front.

Using the "total cap cost" price you've given with the base MF of .00166 results in a payment of $692/mo; $713/mo if I use the .00191 MF you were quoted.
Not sure how the dealer gets to $745/mo unless their cap cost is different than what you've given me.
I am looking to get a new GLC 300 lease (36/10 or 36/12) and was hoping the community here might be able to suggest good (great) ballpark figures (i.e. discount to MSRP/offer price, MF, residual, etc.) for the following vehicle on the lot:
I do not want to put any money down, although I would not mind paying the taxes and such upfront. I am also open to doing MSDs/autopay etc. for savings.

Not sure how much of a discount you can get; a poster just reported 7% off sticker in the post below yours.
Michael, went to another dealer today. I have an offer for a car exactly similar to the one I posted above. The only diff is that this one has the sport package but does not have the head-up display. The MSRP on this one is 54,375 and the offer is price is 50,000 (about 8.05% off sticker). They were able to beat the % discount but they said we cannot match the dollar price of that car. I think this one is a better deal and a better car for us. Planning to sign this offer tomorrow.

Got a quote today that isn't making sense. Of course, I was only given pieces of the equation, and wasn't able to take the quote with me.
GLC AWD
MSRP 46,305 Selling Price 42,565 (Costco Discount) Residual 58% MF .00246 (this is inflated, correct?) 1095 Acquisition Fee (not willing to come down on this) 1015 Due at signing (first month's pmt and documentation) Ohio tax rate=6%

When I try to back into their number, I keep getting a payment of 640.00.

What are your thoughts?
Assuming 36/15, it's .00166 MF and 58% residual. Acquisition fee is marked up from the $795 base, as well.
If you add in the acq.fee, it's $640/mo.+tax, so probably pretty close.
Between the money factor and acquisition fee markups, it's adding $65/mo.+tax to your quote. Which shows you how useful the "Costco Discount" is. Discounting the car by $2740, but adding $2340 in other markups.

2015 Subaru Outback 3.6R / 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige
MSRP: $44775
Selling price: $40000
Plus taxes and fees: $42800
Plus acq fee: +$795=$43595
Minus down payment: -$2500=$41095 = adjusted cap!
Do these numbers make sense?
Is $2500 Down plus $530 monthly payment with no extera fees upfront a decent deal for 36m/12k?
Thanks a lot for your help
I think the money factor is high at this time. I am curious when the 2017 comes out and in November and December when the winter event comes out, what the numbers will be. A better money factor and winter cash would be helpful.
So, what is the adjusted cap cost if some of the taxes and fees are being added in? My guess it's higher than the $40,795 you originally quoted.

Then I'm back to my original calculated payment. Can't tell you why you dealer quote is higher, unless they marked up the MF.

By how much would the MF go down if I were to put in 10 MSD (the maximum allowed)? Is the .00166 the buy rate that dealers quote or is the best deal that dealers are offering to customers?
.00166 is the buy rate, and is the best rate available to customers without MSD

acquisition fee 1095.00
tax on collected items 1679.40 (not sure what this is)
total cap 48512.15

net cap 44089.42

MF 0.00236
residual 60%
mn state tax 7.775%
appreciate any insight on how to lower this as the MF and acquisition fee appear to be really high..
Thanks in advance!
Sales tax in NY (this is NY, right?) is collected upfront.
Acquisition fee is marked up from the $795 base.
I would assume the $1050 is for prepaid maintenance (but, I would want to know for sure)
The money factor markup alone is adding $50/mo. to the payment

36/15 numbers are 58% and .00166. Add 2% for 12K.
It's possible MB will accept MSD on the supported MF; other posters have been able to apply them.

2016 GLC 300 4matic - 36 month / 10k miles
MSRP 50,135
Selling price (inc destination) 47,891
Dealer Fees 675 (doc 595, the rest title, license and electronic filing)
Cap Cost 48,566
MF .00191 (I know this is marked up and plan to push back to the base rate)
Sales Tax 2,085 (VA - 4.3% tax on entire price of car)
Thanks in advance.

So, what is the net cap cost if you are rolling the taxes into it?

Cap Cost (pre-tax) 48,566
Sales Tax 2,085
Total Cap Cost 50,651
Also, is it incorrect to assume doc fees of almost $600 are almost exclusively profit for the dealer? I'm pretty sure my doc fees when I got my current MB was around $10, although it was in another state.

Using the "total cap cost" price you've given with the base MF of .00166 results in a payment of $692/mo; $713/mo if I use the .00191 MF you were quoted.
Not sure how the dealer gets to $745/mo unless their cap cost is different than what you've given me.

MSD is multiple security deposit. Each one is the monthly payment rounded up to the next highest $50 and lowers the MF by a set amount.

I am looking to get a new GLC 300 lease (36/10 or 36/12) and was hoping the community here might be able to suggest good (great) ballpark figures (i.e. discount to MSRP/offer price, MF, residual, etc.) for the following vehicle on the lot:
MSRP: $52,900
GLC 300 4MATIC
Options:
designo paint ($1515)
Panorama Sunroof ($1480)
Heated Steering Wheel ($250)
19" 5-spoke wheel ($500)
Burmester Surround Sound System ($850)
Heated Front Seats ($580)
Premium Package ($720)
Multimedia Package ($2330)
Driver Assistance Package ($2800)
Destination/Delivery ($925)
I do not want to put any money down, although I would not mind paying the taxes and such upfront. I am also open to doing MSDs/autopay etc. for savings.
Thanks in advance!
4matic, sunroof, premium package 1, blind spot assist, multimedia, head-up display, lighting package, burmester surround sound, advanced parking assist, heated front seats and steering wheel. MSRP: 52,665 (including destination). Selling price 49,000.
Please let me know what do you think about this offer. It's roughly about 7% discount - which I think is not bad on this model at this time.

GLC AWD
MSRP 46,305
Selling Price 42,565 (Costco Discount)
Residual 58%
MF .00246 (this is inflated, correct?)
1095 Acquisition Fee (not willing to come down on this)
1015 Due at signing (first month's pmt and documentation)
Ohio tax rate=6%
Monthly-689.00
When I try to back into their number, I keep getting a payment of 640.00.
What are your thoughts?
Acquisition fee is marked up from the $795 base, as well.
If you add in the acq.fee, it's $640/mo.+tax, so probably pretty close.
Between the money factor and acquisition fee markups, it's adding $65/mo.+tax to your quote. Which shows you how useful the "Costco Discount" is. Discounting the car by $2740, but adding $2340 in other markups.
