Anyone have any prices/suggested dealers to contact on Mazda 3's in Oregon. I want the SAB/ABS package. I saw one advertized for 15000 as one of those "1 at" deals...
  • laurelgraelaurelgrae Member Posts: 15
I called about that car and it does not have any options....just a base model. So...still looking.
  • laurelgraelaurelgrae Member Posts: 15
I was just quoted 300 over invoice. They don't seem to have any incentives going on right now. That would be 17610 with just the SAB/ABS. Any thoughts?
  • pepperfritzpepperfritz Member Posts: 9
Are you wanting a 5 speed manual or auto? I bought a 5 speed Hatch with ABS/SAC, all weather mats & rear bumper step plate for $16,850 at Premier Mazda in Portland. There was a blue one there just like the one I got about four weeks ago--could be gone now. There were just a few 5 speed Hatchs with ABS/SAC around when I was looking and absolutely no 5 speed Mazda I's with ABS/SAC at all in the Northwest. (Oregon Washington Idaho)
I used the $500 Gerber certificate that I got on line and gave it to the dealer and I didn't need the original ad.

The link for the Cash Back Gerber Certificate is
    www.irv-silverpop.com/mazda/gerber

I just filled out & submitted the form on line and the certificate came in an e-mail in a couple days. The one I received was valid until early September.
  • pepperfritzpepperfritz Member Posts: 9
I checked my e-mail that had the certificate that I used----(It has my name & a certificate number on it) It says it is valid on a '05 or '06 Mazda from 7/25/2005 through 9/24/2005.
(The dealer I went to did not ask for the original ad & I didn't mention it.) I had a price over the internet from some place else and he matched it. I then showed him the certificate and he took the $500 off.

How long did it take for you to get your Mazda email certificate from when you requested it online? I'm getting my car very soon, and would like to be able to use the certificate. I ordered one last week, but still haven't gotten the certificate email.
    Thanks!

Take a look behind yours before you settle on an '05. I was kinda surprised to see them lined up back there Saturday afternoon. The only really noticeable change, other than the new Copper Red Mica color, was the automatic climate controls in the center stack. From the outside, they look just like the '05s.

Does anyone know when the 2006's are going to be showing up on lots? I was at the Mazda website yesterday and its still got the 2005 information up. I'm thinking that a 2006 Mazda3 will be in the cards as the A3 doesn't appear to be pricing its way to my demographic. :)

Sounds like they are already there in North Carolina. You may want to call up a few dealers or do as Mystery Meade ;) did and do some investigative work behind your local dealerships. Up here in Canada, it's most likely at the end of September or October.

call a dealer and they said some 06 M3 coming in 2 weeks, im considering getting 06 for the minor upgrade,ie. 5speed auto, pollen filter.. and it is 2006 !
Then the question is, how should i bargain a first month new car? for a 2005 i think i can get the m3 hatch with abs/sac option down to 18K or less, how about 06? the msrp price of 06 hatch S Touring is about 19100 and invoice(according to edmund )is 18000. Should I pay the msrp? what will be a OK price with a new car like this? will $500 over invoice be ok? Thanks
  • smariasmaria Member Posts: 279
That's a tricky question...dealers may try to mark up the 2006 cars when they're still hard to get. Even so, my advice would be not to pay MSRP.

I bought a new 2006 Mazda5 two months ago when it was REALLY hard to find, so I expected to pay MSRP. But I actually paid $600 under MSRP, without any haggling with the dealer. So, on the 2006 Mazda3, you should be able to get at least a few hundred under MSRP. Of course, this depends on which dealer that you go to...some are more willing to come down in price than others.

I'd offer a dealer $18,000 for a 2006 Mazda3 (invoice on the car you described), and be willing to go up to about $18,600 through negotiation. That's a little more than the 2005 model, but you'll save some of that extra money in gas (better gas mileage) and in depreciation (the newer car will be worth more at trade-in time...this becomes less important the longer you keep the car).

    Good luck!

    r2k,

After you signed up with Gerber's website, how did you request that they mail you the ad insert? I didn't see any mention on their website for a Mazda coupon or promotion. And I couldn't find anywhere to request that they mail an ad insert.

    Could you help?

Thanks, I'm planning to by an '06 Mazda3 S GT and every little bit helps. :-)

    jonatj:

You have to sign up and become a "member" of the Gerber web site. Go to

    www.gerber.com

and click on the pale purple "Join Now" icon in the upper middle area of the main page.

That will take you to a questionnaire asking you all about your new baby (!!!), so have some creative answers ready (I am an "other family member").

After they acknowledge your new membership, you can contact them and request the Mazda ad insert. I said I was planning on purchasing a new Mazda soon and would like a copy of the ad insert. Hopefully they still have some available and you can get one.

It took about 10 days to get the ad insert in the mail.

Then you can go to the previously mentioned Mazda web page and fill out that form so you can get the Mazda certificate number to go with the ad insert.

Others have reported on this and other forums that they were able to get the $500 off without the actual Gerber ad insert, but that depended on the dealership.

Hope this helps, and good luck...I am still waiting for a combination of model, color and options I like to get a Mazda 5.

2005 3s, 5speed hatchback w/ABS and rear step plates for invoice +$35 (they did the dumb "doc fee" thing at the last minute, but I didn't complain - seemed trivial compared to some of the huge "miscellaneous charges" dealers often try to sneak in) in Seattle, WA

    Hi
I submitted the filled out e-mail form on July 23rd and received an e-mail certificate on July 26th, so, it was three days.

Well, I wouldn't know about North Carolina, but here in Virginia, they're here!

There's a $500 rebate coupon being given to everyone who attends a "Zoom Zoom Live" event (www.zoomzoomlive.com). This can't be used in combination with the Gerber rebate, but can be used instead of it. The Zoom Zoom Live rebate might be an easier (and more fun!) way for some people to get their $500 rebate.

Well, I wouldn't know about North Carolina, but here in Virginia, they're here!

Oops, Meade, I didn't mean to relocate you! BTW are you safe and sound in Virginia or has Katrina left her mark in your parts? Up here in Canada we escaped with some extended showers; nothing compared to the horrors visited upon Louisiana and Mississippi.

Speaking of Mississippi, it was odd hearing the governor comparing Katrina to Hiroshima. "I can only imagine that this is what Hiroshima looked like 60 years ago," said Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour after touring the destruction by air Tuesday. Hiroshima, the home of Mazda, is in an earthquake zone, but "60 years ago" was the site of the nuclear bombing by the US. I keep on worrying that these weather patterns are not regular even for the hurricane corridor; it makes one wonder when will the connection to global warming and another Japanese city, Kyoto, enter the discussion.
  • mdaffronmdaffron Member Posts: 4,421
Having endured Isabel (aka "Isahell") in '03 and Gaston last year, I'll be happy to see Virginia out of hurricane alley for at least this year ... but alas, we're just at the peak of hurricane season now.

Could someone e-mail me a copy of the Gerber ad insert? I'd sure appreciate it.

I also found there's one floating around from ACOG; I signed up for the cert at:

    http://www.irv-silverpop.com/mazda/acog

Anyone have the ad for that?

I'm hoping my dealer will just take the certs without the ads, but it'd be nice to have the ad too.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Saw a web site by some dealer or another that states that no cash back coupons can be combined when talking about the ACOG coupon. I know someone already said the ZOOM-ZOOM coupon could not be combined. But I also saw that several people combined the ACOG and Gerber coupons. Is the dealer site incorrect. Also can the Gerber and ZOOM-ZOOM be combined and if not why.

    Thank,
    Pete
  • smariasmaria Member Posts: 279
I've been following this forum for a few months, and I don't recall anyone using both the Gerber and ACOG rebates on the same car (i.we., getting $1000 off). Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you read the fine print, all of these rebates (ACOG, Gerber, and ZoomZoom Live) say the same thing. Here's the quote:

"Limit one (1) $500 Cash Back Bonus Incentive per eligible vehicle."

So, officially, no, you're not supposed to be able to combine any of these...$500's the best you can do. Unofficially, however, I'm not sure if you could convince a dealer to combine them for you...
  • johnsonxjohnsonx Member Posts: 7
The dealer I was talking to seemed to be implying that both the ACOG and Gerber coupons could be used at the same time; indeed, he's the one that told me about these two, said about 1 in 4 of his customers have 'those coupons'. He didn't tell me much else about them; I just hung up and started searching online.

Still hoping someone will be kind enough to e-mail me a copy of one or both of those ads.

Looking at a 2005 Mazda 3 with the following package:

4-Speed Sport A/T, ABS/SAB/SAC Package, Appearance Package 1, Lower Door Moldings, Moonroof & 6-CD Package, Moonroof Deflector, Rear Bumper Step Plate, Wheel Arch Moldings, Xenon & TPMS Package, tire pressure monitoring system

Dealer over the phone said it was 22,900 and he would sell it for 19,900. How low should I try to push this? Think I can sink it to 18000 or lower?

Need to sink the car low as possible to catch up for my current car. Have a 2003 Jetta GLI that I owe 16,900 on. Thoughts?

My dealership told me that only "1" coupon could be used per vehicle. I was lucky enough to have the dealers free gas for 6 months coupon that they reluctantly accepted after refusing at first.
If your dealer will take both...go for it!
Let us know what happens. Zoom Zoom!

    johnsonx:

There is no "copy" of the ads....you must get an "original" from either Gerber, or from the Plum magazine that was printed earlier this year and appearently distributed only to OB/GYN doctor's offices and clinics.

A month or more ago on one of these forums (maybe this one...can't remember) somebody posted some links to some high resolution scans of the Gerber ad, but unless you can print them out double sided on 8-3/8" x 5-1/4" glossy paper, you won't have an "original" ad. You can do a search of whole Mazda forum for "Gerber" and see if you can find the links if you want to try to print your own.

The second best chance would be to hope your dealer would take just the emailed Mazda certificate for the $500 discount. Otherwise, you need to sign up at Gerber and request a copy of the ad.

    sandman46:

Is the 6 month's of free gas coupon only for your local dealer, or area of the country, or is it some offer that is available everywhere somehow?

    Thanks
  • johnsonxjohnsonx Member Posts: 7
I thought I had seen some sequences of messages that implied all that was really needed was a 'photocopy' of the original ad, and some people were e-mailing scans of the ad around so one could print out their own 'photocopy'. Someone even mentioned they simply faxed the ad to their dealer when they called asking for it.

I don't have time to ask Gerber to mail the ad, as I'm closing my deal tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. I haven't even gotten the e-mail certificate yet, so this whole effort may well be fruitless. I've heard it's possible to get the rebate after the fact, but that's only by going through official Mazda channels, which certainly means a real original ad will be necessary.

Just went to a few Mazda dealer in New Jersey today, there's 1 dealer with 06 models on the lot. no stick shift yet tho, too bad. they said they will get more very soon. Also, can someone tell me if those $500 rebate is still available, and where to get it, i can't wait for the next zoom zoom live event, i would still like to go tho, since i live in Jersey already, but it's in mid Nov, too late for me. thx guys.
  • johnsonxjohnsonx Member Posts: 7
ok, I found the posted scans. I think I'll try just a black-and-white print ("photocopy") of the front and see if that works... if the dealer asks for the original, I don't think I'll try printing it on glossy paper and passing it off as original... that might be venturing a little to close to fraud for my tastes.
  • pete22pete22 Member Posts: 80
I asked for the Gerber coupon from Mazda 3 days ago. Also asked Mazda for a copy of the ad. Other posts claim 3 days for the Mazda Cerificate and 8 days for the Gerber ad. So I'm just waiting.
  • pete22pete22 Member Posts: 80
It seems to me that you should be able to get invoice. At least on the phone thats what a dealer offered me when I appplied for a car on one of the internet sites where lots of delaers give you quotes. I heard that from him because I asked since I have the S-Plan from work am I better off buying it that way. He said both the internet price and the S_Plan price were at invoice. Think he's telling the truth. Wonder how much they make on that situation.
  • dridedride Member Posts: 139
The gerber ad took me four days to get once I signed up at Gerber website and kindly requested it. The Mazda emailed certificate took 10 business days, and five phone calls to Customer Service. Back in June, they were only running "certificate batches" once every 10 days, and it was done by an outside marketing firm. Had I not have been diligent with the phone calls, it would probably taken longer. I actually put a deposit on my car to hold it while I waited. My dealer, who I really like, would absolutely not accept any copies, fair enough. The person who I developed a working relationship in customer service due to my calls told me they were working with the marketing firm to determine the legitimacy of the huge swelling of requests they were receiving in June. Needless to say, Gerber probably isn't getting a very accurate picture of their customers. But maybe if Mazda EVER had rebates or incentives we wouldn't have to "work the system". That being said, you are CRAZY not to wait for both articles (the actual coupon and email cert). $500.00 buys a lot of gas for the 3 (although not as much as it used to)!

I'd wait a few more days, Gerber is a good company, if they say they'll do something, they will.

It was a coupon from my local dealer, not a national coupon. I was glad to get it, but was happier once they took it!

I think I've concluded that I'm not going to get my $500.00 rebate. It sounds like Mazda and Gerber are on to 'us' internet users... I still don't have the e-mail cert, and I'll bet anything they've tightened up enforcement by now so that the original ad will absolutely be required.

Oh well.. I've got my good deal from my dealer, and my vehicle will arrive tomorrow. At $3750 off sticker, plus $2000 Mazda cash, I've got little to complain about. (that's on an MPV LX, not a 3... don't get all excited)

I got the Gerber rebate email from Mazda yesterday so it was 4 days exactly for me to. I still am waiting for the ad from Gerber though. I was offered the invoice price from the dealer as a response to one of those multicast internet requests. I mentioned I have the S-Plan but he said it's exactly the same and showed me the invoice.
  • pete22pete22 Member Posts: 80
Wondering if anyone has an opinion to share. As mentioned above I can get the invoice price for the Mazda. What I wanted was the Mazda3 i model with power options (power, 16 inch tires). I test drove a Ford Focus and its drives almost as good but the Ford Focus with all of the main Mazda option as well as some extra options (fog lights, traction control, 6 disk CD changer, leather steering wheel, a few others) is much lower.

Heres the 3 options I'm deciding between right now and would appreciate some advise:

Honda LS (price 15,000) - with Auto, power, advantage 38 miles per gallon and drives pretty well

Mazda 3i - (price 15,700 if I use a 500 gerber coupon) - with auto, power, advantage 50,000 mile warrenty, and I've had good experience with my Protege

Ford Focus (price 13800) - with auto, power, extra options, and priced almost 2000 lower than the best I can do with Mazda.

My feelings are mixed. Are the Fords that unrealiable that its not worth taking a 2000 savings ?
  • trafficboytrafficboy Member Posts: 14
the extra 2 grand is for : an updated style, nicer interior, a loaner car if you need warranty work and the focus has an annoying turn signal clicker.... the honda has an older style, interior is nice though, mileage is nice. The ford does have a lengthy warranty if I remeber correctly (check on that) ...

    Good luck :)

Just read Edmunds latest small cars comparo. Yeah, the Mazda3 is worth it.
It ranked first of seven cars, including the Focus. They conclude by saying, "Buy one".

In post #1698 you mentioned you had an extra Gerber coupon - do you still have this and if so, would you be willing to send to me?
