I see that cutout on most of the heavy duty mats. Wish they wouldn't do that.
I haven't bought any "designed for" mats yet because of it. I'm drving around with some heavy black rubber mats that I had bought from Walmart years ago and hadn't used. They aren't molded to fit the floor, but they fit fairly well. Most important though is that they cover every place I put my feet. Catch a moderate amount of water/mud/etc. (Handy for when I launch/recove my sailboat, as I sometimes have to step in water at the ramp.)
Let me know if that really is a cut out around the foot rest block, would ya?

( 29 yrs. of driving ), and w/ this kit it's the most fun I've had. Yes, you'd be ok w/o it, but it makes a world of difference.
No problems getting into any gear inc. reverse. Again, If you have the 6 speed, get this kit.
You won't be sorry!!
I like the design of my '05 Taco, but it's a TRD, with the plastic over fenders. I think the standard body isn't as good looking.
That said, I LOVE Ford's F series styling. I find them downright beautiful, just too big, and they're Fords. :P
I think if the next Ranger gets any of the looks of the bigger brothers it'll sell like hotcakes.
Now you know, kind of a loner...........
BTW, pb2's pictured mats cover quite a bit more then the Toyota brand.
I've seen previous post where some have heard a noise right after cold startup that sounds like, when you hold a card up to the spokes of a bicycle wheel and rotate it.
I recently had the cab mount tsb performed, and since then I have been noticing this strange noise.I hadn't heard it before, but I can't imagine that it is related. Its been a little cooler here and I've been parking outside, wondering if that has anything to do with it?Any feedback would be appreciated.
I checked with the dealer who advised that as far as they knew toyota did not make them and he did not know if/where they could be purchased.
Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction?
Thanks
This worked great on my 99 and 06 Taco. There is also an audio output version if you want to use an ipod or such.

I know that the rear suspension is rated for about 500 lbs.
Not only do I find this inadequate, I see many Tacomas on the road with their [non-permissible content removed] ends looking like they're dragging.
I've thought about putting air-shocks on the rear to boost it up when I'm carrying a load... or possibly a set of overload springs. Haven't been able to find overloads. I had 'helper springs' on my last Toyota truck and all they did was help mess up my original leafs.
Anybody out there found a better solution?

I complained to the dealer about the very same noise after I purchased it. He had a mechanic check it out and told me that it is the fuel injectors. I forgot about after that, but I don't hear the noise anymore . . its gone.

It looks real nice but its a piece of crap as far as quality goes. It leaks, the connections look cheap, the latches are so flimsey that you can yank on them and they bend enough to pull the hatch open even when locked; its happened to me more than once.
Don't know about Leer.
I had a Gem Top steel shell previously. I loved that one on my old '85 Toyota, it didn't leak, the latch/lock system was stainless steel and flush mounted. But Gem Tops are so square and sharp looking. I wanted something more complementary to the lines on my '03 Tacoma so I went with the Snug Top. Like I said , it looks good, but I wish I would have gotten the Gem Top.

You shouldn't have any parts left over once everything is installed.
MikeS.
Aluminum, stainless, carbon steel?
Do they offer the lifetime warranty that the Platinum series has?
I really like the look of those bars, but I launch and sail in brackish water and am concerned about long term condition/looks. (I keep a vehicle for 10 yrs or so.)
Sometimes the bars of my double cab will get wet.
thnx
Idle while stopped at the traffic light(in neutral gear) is now 1000 rpm versus 750 rpm before installing the aircharger.
Slight runon after turning the ignition off. Pre-aircharger, the engine would shut down immediately. Does anyone notice these changes after changing their intake system? I might reinstall the stock airbox.
Just a thought. When did you install it? Did you disconnect the battery and let the ECU discharge? I'm thinking you may still be in the learning/adjustment stage. It may change as you continue to drive the truck. Anyway, I'll check mine out and get back to you in an hour or so.
This past weekend I exchanged back to the old intake and experienced a similar rpm shift that cleared up quicker (maybe I am used to it now) If you haven't yet done so try disconnecting the battery or give it a chance correct itself. As far as the run on thing I can't say I had any problems in that area did you check your vacuum line hose connections (just a guess).
~5K miles after the initial starter was replaced, my truck is making the same noise again, but very intermittently.
The starter is always noisy when cold whether it grinds or not. I can usually hear a "clunk" as it disengages 1-2 seconds after start. There seems to be some unknown factor which differentiates when it makes the slightly audible "clunk" versus the highly annoying "grind".
Anyone else have this fixed?! Dealer keeps pulling the starter and checking operation and nothing is ever wrong. I am thinking it may be a bad relay that is the root of it all as I think its fairly unlikely to get 2 starters in a row with the same problem.
I've searched this site, and every where else looking for help. I recently purchased the 05 Tacoma, V6, 4door. I mistakenly assusmed that it would be compatible with my overhead Trac Racks system I had on my Ford Ranger (ya know the one that every pick up truck owner has). The Tacoma does not have post pockets, so you cannot mount the base rails and the bed tapers so you can not slide the racks, even if you could mount them. I called Trac Racks, thire engineers could not develope a mounting they would warrantee, and Toyota...dont get me started.
My idea is to mount just the overhaed stantions, using a plate and washer set up under the composite bed cap. I need to stiffen the metal liner, and the rack will be fixed in place. Its going to be a real pain getting the plate stiffiner and washer hardware up betweeen the bed walls, but I desparetely need to get the racks mounted.
Has anyone had similar probelms, found an off the shelf solution, or engineer a better home remedy.
Thanks for you help, Dave L
