Those are strong numbers for that car. And speaking of Kia K9 I saw one on the road a few months ago, and I'm not sure it has the presence of the Equus or other full size vehicles in this class.
It's just such a puzzling car to me - odd KDM styling, big price, not sure who they think it competes against. The middle lux crowd buying Es and 5ers etc often doesn't want something so big, those who can afford an S or a 7 don't want the badge and cut corners (as it really isn't an S for E money, no matter the propaganda). I think it competes most against nice 2-3 year old CPO luxobarges, and even then, for me, hard sell. But as a 2 year old used car competing against loaded Camcords, might be a deal.
The K9 is much better looking to me, although as boomchek mentions, it's kind of invisible, an Audi-BMW hybrid look.
Most of the 8 series BMWs these days can be bought for well under $10k. They've been hovering at around those prices for a decade or so here, at least the ratty ones that were bought cheap before the new owners realized how much it costs to keep them running.
Spotted a new looking Prius yesterday...with (Buick-like) portholes! Or, were they Homer Simpson-like "speed holes!"

I spent some time in the showroom this weekend with the Renegade. It is quite a bit larger than I expected. Looking at the specs now, I see it is basically the same height and width of the Cherokee is about 16 inches cut out of the overall length.
Problem is, if I compare them on Truecar, there is only about $1k difference in the current street price. That's gotta make for a tough sale on the baby brother, I would think.

Give it time. The Renegade has been on the market for only 6 weeks or so. There aren't any incentives on the Renegade whereas there is $2,000 available on the Cherokee.
Saw my first two BMW i3's today within 10 minutes of each other. Yes, again in the Bay Area carpool lanes - mixed in with tons of Priuses and Nissan Leafs.
Saw an M4 in an obnoxious bright green - the kind of car that comes with a vat of hair gel and a dozen Ed Hardy shirts. A white base model NX was a nice combination of dull and overstyled.
It will soon be nutty car season down here. We're next to a pricey beach town - or collection of towns. Come summer they'll be all over the place in cars you couldn't own if you had to make your living here. I mean tourism is the entire industry. How much can you make giving out balls and clubs at a miniature golf course?

A nice case of MB copying BMW, maybe payback for BMW copying MB with the Gran Coupe and 2er "Active Tourer". The GLE will probably sell, there's a significant demographic out there with plenty of money, yet no class, taste, or sense.
Two new cars in the parking garage of my building - woman who had a PT Cruiser that didn't seem to be aging well has replaced it with a new Fit. Guy who had a nice 05-08 TL Type S has replaced it with a Corolla. That must be a change.

The swtich to a Fit fits.
But the TL to Corolla has to hurt. I personally find the Corollas I've been in to be minimal. I don't see the glory--I'd buy a Camry for the small extra money and that's not sayin' much. I'd see a V6 Camry more a switch for the TL driver.

Stuck in freeway traffic behind a serious accident... finally, close enough to the exit to pull around and get off. Blue Golf R doing the same thing, right in front of me.. It's a nice long off-ramp, with a big sweeper to go to the right and merge....
He didn't have any trouble pulling smartly away from me..
parked at a store, an i3. In the wild, apparently actually owned by someone.
and on the road, a new design Edge. Did not realize these were out yet. I liked it. Shortly after that, a new Murano. Not attractive. Nissan designers must do a lot of LSD or something.

I sometimes think Nissan design exists only in the bizarro world.

At least they aren't the amorphous blobs most other automakers are releasing.

Nissan does seem to be all over the place, and often not in a good way. They changed their US nameplate from Datsun to Nissan. They had some horribly ugly cars in the '70's. The B210 and the F10 come to mind.
Unlike most other Japanese nameplates, they seem to have reliability all over the map - some very reliable cars and some not so much.
And more recently their styling is again all over the map. I thought the original G35 looked good, It has gone downhill with each revision. The first Altmas were ugly, I thought a generation or so ago looked decent, and the newest IMHO are ugly again.
The original Murano looked ok. Then there's the Juke..... at least it is distinctive....
And when you look at Nissan/Infiniti crossovers they seem very willing to sacrifice interior room/cargo capacity in the name of style. Reduced capacity is one reason I didn't give them serious consideration when I bought my CUV.
Oh, and I saw an i3 on Thursday as well. Strange little fellow.
I think Nissan is still amorphous in a way, a mixx between blobby and edgy. Bucktooth corporate grille, too-thick chrome trim, weird jagged headlights, faux floating C-pillar (new trend that already can't die soon enough), too many reverse slant C-pillars too - add that to the usually loathsome commercials, and I can't embrace the brand, even with its somewhat link to MB. As "CAR" magazine would say, "distinctive, but so is wearing a fez". I guess they are competing with Toyolex's homely new design language.
Regarding TL to Corolla, I still don't get it. I need to talk to him, maybe the TL was crashed or stolen or something, and he just kind of gave up.
Saw a Crosstrek hybrid, which I think has to be rare. If there's one thing Seattle people love more than their tin can hybrids, it's Subarus.

The dealer where we got our Outback had a few of the CrossTrek Hybrids on the lot - used, with prices around $27-28k
My oldest daughter's boyfriend is leasing a new Rogue. I guess they gave him a good deal on the 2013 he was leasing. New one looks nice, although according to him, a bit shorter than the previous one. It had that new car smell too!

Hybrid Crosstreks are pretty popular here in N.E., I've seen quite a few and if it wasn't for being CVT only, I'd buy one to replace my trusty, bulletproof 2007 Impreza hatch.
As far as new rides, I stopped by the local Volvo dealer and checked out the new XC90. They had (2), one was a somewhat reasonable 55k while the other one stickered at 76 grand! Still, both were equally impressive, the interiors are absolute knockouts, the exterior styling is both unique and revolutionary. If I was buying in the X5/GLC/Q7 market, I would definitely give one of these a close look.
I also expect them to be extremely popular, Volvo has a sure fire hit on their hands if they can convince enough folks to give the twincharged 4 cylinder consideration in a large flagship SUV...
I suspect the new XC90 will be a success too. Lots of devotees of the old model looking to trade up, no doubt. I expect to see a lot of them in my area, Bellevue wives will like em.

The last sentence is the big if, not sure I'd trust the twincharged 4 cylinder in it's first year(s).
Stopped by and checked out the new Honda HR-V over the weekend. 23k was the sticker on this one. Looks pretty good in person, this one was a gun metal gray with gray cloth interior. Interior was clean and uncluttered, loved the center console area. Exterior was tidy and the C-pillar door handles were perfectly placed.
Wanted to take it for a spin, but it was a demo and it was early Sunday morning. Buy the time we were done looking it over, there were 2 other cars that pulled up to check it out.
I think it's going to be very popular. If only they offered it with a stick and AWD so I could have something to compare to the Crosstrek.

My guess you were looking at an EX at that price point.

As for used, I found one at a local Lexus dealer - 2013 Signature with 18K for $35K.

I imagine these are going to be very popular for the time being. Same is true with the Mazda CX-3 when it gets released later this summer.
